Two years...well, now I'm back! I'm really sorry for not updating in so long, but...well...I guess there really isn't any good excuse. Sorry. But at least it's a long chapter!
Reviewers
BloodPokemon101: I hope you don't think I'm making her OOC...but I have lots of fun writing her.
The One Named Light: Thank you so much for your backstories. They're in this chapter, as well as your OC
Guest: Well, I don't support many crossover pairings, and I'm pretty sure I'm bad at romance, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make ToboeXAngle (I'm assuming you meant Angel) to the extent you want it. However, I will try to make them have some sort of relationship thingy. I put a bit of it in this chapter.
imjaysong: Thank you. Especially thank you for reviewing even after I hadn't posted a chapter in so long. But who said that the pack would ever come out as wolves? Kidding, it'll happen, and probably in the next chapter or the one after.
You all get canned coffee (Because I'm cheap like that).
Disclaimer: The characters/world/etc don't belong to me. They belong to artists who are much more dedicated than me. The only things I do own are my world-class procrastination skills, which are the reason why I've been on a two-year hiatus.
Yuri POV
Everyone went to the cart to get supplies. I grabbed a pole, some worms, and a basket for my fish.
I was about to cast my line when I heard Hinata shout, "What?! You can't use fishing poles either?!"
"Yes," was Kiba's responded plainly, Hinata walked away from them, obviously he was getting tired of dealing with Kiba. I saw that Kiba was telling the six of them something, and I overheard the words "gentle" and "marks". They grabbed baskets and walked toward the river. Kiba then stopped Cheza and said to her, "You need a fishing pole." He took her hand and led her to Shiina. Shiina started to show Cheza how to put bait on a hook and the other five waded out into the river. 'I guess they'll catch the fish with their hands or something,' I thought.
It had been about fifteen minutes since the operation had started, and I had already caught five fish. I heard a loud splashing and looked at the source of the noise. Hige was coming out of the river with his basket. He was grabbing the lip of the basket and walking backward, dragging it behind him.
"This one will help," Cheza said as she walked into the river and picked up the basket.
"Thanks Cheza!" said Hige as they walked back to the cart to deposit the basket. The whole situation struck me as extremely odd. Cheza, who seemed to be the weakest of the six new recruits, had to help Hige with carrying his fish basket. And stranger yet was the fact that Hige accepted her help happily, like he knew that he couldn't carry the basket.
'Is this connected to the fact that Cheza is the only one that can use a gun?' I thought to myself. I then realized that while I was watching Hige and Cheza a fish had been stealing my bait. I pulled my line out as fast as I could, but the fish was gone, along with the worm.
"DAMMIT!" I shouted, "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" I threw the pole on the ground and started stomping on it. Then I turned to Hige and yelled at him, "I hate your guts! Go die! Just kill yourself you damn bastard! Quit distracting me!" I then pulled out my gun and shot at the water a few times. "Die stupid fish!"
"Yurippe calm down! You're scaring way the fish!" called Hinata.
"Oh, right!" I said calmly before picking up my pole and putting bait back on the hook.
Hige POV
As I returned to the others with Cheza by my side I heard Toboe say to me, "Who knew that you could catch food? I thought that your only skill involved with food was eating!"
"I wouldn't be talking if I were you runt. Your basket's the emptiest of all of us" I replied snappily. It was true, Tsume's basket was two-thirds full and Blue and Kiba had both filled theirs halfway. Toboe's, however, was only one quarter full.
"You didn't leave any teeth marks, did you?" asked Kiba.
"Of course not! You told us to be careful, so I was," I huffed indignantly before turning to the love of my life, "Hey Blue, do you want me to help you catch some?" I asked.
"No, I can handle it myself," she said.
"Then what should I do now?" I asked whinily.
"Get another basket, porky." said Tsume. I couldn't really think of a response to that, so I went back to the cart and grabbed a basket. I didn't need to drag it because it was light when it wasn't full of fish, so I didn't make an embarrassment of myself by looking like I was so weak that I couldn't carry a single empty basket. While I was returning to the group I noticed that Cheza was back onshore with Shiina.
Shiina POV
Cheza returned to her pole, and I focused on the river. I heard her say, "This one thinks that there is not enough bait." but I didn't bother to look at what she did next. After a few minutes I was a little concerned because she had not cast her line yet. I looked over and saw that she was holding a mass of wriggling worms. I could only assume that they were held together by her hook.
Flashback
"Big sister! Big sister! Look what I found!" laughed a little girl as she ran toward me, her hands clamped around something. She stopped abruptly in front of me, and her pale hair swished forward, obscuring her face. She opened her hands to show me what she found. In her tiny palms was a mass of dirt and wriggling worms.
"Aren't they cool?" she asked me, her eyes shining brightly.
I wanted to agree with her, to congratulate her on finding such a treasure, but I couldn't let myself show weakness. Father always said that weakness was unacceptable.
"How foolish," I stated as I turned around and walked back to our house.
Flashback end
"How foolish," I stated.
"That's a lot of worms." said Takamatsu, who was standing on the other side of Cheza. "Aren't girls supposed to be scared of bugs and worms?"
"This one hates worms, they almost ate this one's friends," replied Cheza in a blunt, yet slightly sorrowful tone. "The thought of that place without light or water makes this one scared again." I did not understand what she was saying, but she was sad and frightened, and I wanted to comfort her. But weakness is unacceptable. Takamatsu returned to his fishing, and so did I. Eventually I heard the kathoosh of her line being cast into the river, along with its large and heavy mass of worms.
"Shiina, this one is not catching anything, and this one is hungry," said Cheza after a few more minutes.
"You have too much bait," I replied, "And you'll have to wait until we leave to get lunch." But she wasn't listening to me, she was walking into the river.
"This one will return to fishing after she is full," she said. I was about to look out into the river when I noticed something around Cheza's feet. She started laughing and I realized that she was being surrounded by fish.
"Cheza, don't move." I said. I threw some kunai into the water, and each knife hit at least three fish. Cheza seemed to have realized what I was doing because she picked up the kunai and fish and tossed them to me. I repeated this a few times until my basket was full. She then proceeded to put her hands into the water, and each time she brought them out she was holding a fish. Her basket filled quickly.
Kiba POV
The fishing was going well. Tsume had finished his basket and was helping Toboe, and the three baskets were a few fish from being full. Then Hige put the fish from his basket into ours, and we were done.
We were about to start dragging the baskets out when I heard Cheza shout, "Kiba! This one is done! This one can catch fish without a pole too!" as she ran toward us. She came to a halt in front of us and waited for a few seconds. Fish instantly started swirling around her. She reached down and grabbed one with ease.
"Wow Cheza! That's so cool," said Toboe.
"I guess that Cheza attracts anything with a good sense of smell," said Hige.
"Hey Cheza, do you think you could help us carry these baskets?" asked Blue
"Of course this one will help," exclaimed Cheza as she picked up two baskets. Tsume and Toboe grabbed a basket, And Hige and I got another. We brought the four baskets to the cart. There was only one basket left, and Cheza and I went back to retrieve it.
We were walking to the shore when the sky suddenly darkened. The water in the middle of the river started to spiral. I heard shouts coming from the shore.
"Run you idiots! The King of the River's coming!" Shouted Yuri. We made a mad dash for the shore. Cheza tripped, and I turned around to help her, but she was then fifteen feet away from me. Suddenly a large fish broke the surface of the water. It was humungous, even larger than the walrus that Toboe had defeated. It was right in front of Cheza, and I knew that it would kill her before I could get to her side. I ran desperately to try and save her. The fish's mouth was only a foot away from Cheza.
It didn't eat her.
Cheza extended her hand and patted the fish in the space between its nostrils. I was stunned. I slowly walked toward Cheza.
"The fish only wanted to say hello to this one," said Cheza. She continued to stroke the fish's head until it slowly sank back into the river. The clouds overhead dispersed and the water returned to normal. Cheza went back, picked up the basket that she had dropped while running, and followed me back to the shore.
"Could somebody please explain what just happened!?" shouted Yuri. All of the SSS members looked shocked and confused.
"The 'King of the River' was attracted by Cheza's scent," shrugged Hige.
"Scent?" asked Noda, "The hell does that mean?"
"Does it have something to do with what Cheza said about being a flower?" asked Hinata.
"How do you know that Cheza's a flower maiden?" I growled protectively. The other pack members tensed.
"She said that she was a flower back when we first met her, before you guys arrived at HQ. We didn't really understand what she meant at the time, so we ignored it," explained Hinata nervously. I scrutinized him for a long time and decided that it would be easier to just explain what Cheza was.
"Cheza was created from the essence of Lunar Flowers, and any animal with a strong sense of smell, fish for example, thinks that she smells amazing and is attracted to her," I said.
"Wait, so you're telling us that she's a plant?" asked Fujimaki.
"Yes," I said. The five of us wolves tensed a little, not knowing how these humans would react to this information.
"Well...that is strange," said Yuri, "But then again, this is the afterlife, which is also strange, so it's not that shocking. I'll eventually want a better explanation, but right now we should get back to the school, it's almost noon anyway." The five of us relaxed.
"So you guys are done?" asked Saitou.
"Yeah, we'll need to keep the baskets for a while, so you should stay above ground until we finish with gutting the fish." said Yuri. Saitou nodded his agreement and we went back to the school. We deposited the fish in the kitchen.
"I'll gut them, you guys can go get some rest," said Yuri, which made me think that she was being kind until she added, "You'll need it for tonight's operation." Yuri's tone made everyone cringe in fear and anticipation. Her parting words were, "Meet in our main base at 16:00."
Everyone everyone started to scatter, and the six of us were about to head toward the dormitories when Hinata approached me and said, "I think you and I should get to know each other better since we will probably have a difficult mission tonight and we would be better off if we trusted each other." I wanted to go to my dorm and take a nap, or maybe get some lunch, but I couldn't think of a good counter to what he had just proposed, so I grudgingly accepted.
"Hey, that's great man," said Hinata, "Wanna go play catch?"
"What's that?" I asked.
"What!? You don't know what catch is!?" He exclaimed, "It's basically what the name says, one person throws the ball and the other catches it."
"No thanks," I said. 'I probably wouldn't be able to throw the ball' I added in my mind.
Hinata frowned and said, "Well then how about lunch, my treat?"
"Sounds good," I said. So Hinata and I walked to the cafeteria.
"What's for lunch?" I asked him.
"Depends on what I grabbed this morning. Usually I don't bother with choosing what to eat in the morning, so I just grab a handful of random meal tickets and decide when I get here." He pulled about seven white tickets from one of his pockets, spread them out on the counter, "What do you want?" he asked me.
"Which one has the most meat?" I asked after some deliberation.
"I would say Beef Udon, but I always give those tickets to Matsushida. Ya see, it's his favorite meal, and he never forgets a favor when it comes to food," said Hinata.
"I see," I said, but I really didn't.
"I'd say the Chicken Katsu and Rice has a good amount of meat," he finally said as he handed me the ticket. I went to get my food, and he followed. We sat down and started eating.
"So Hinata, how long have you been here?" I asked awkwardly. I did not enjoy the silence because I needed something to occupy my mind, otherwise I would start worrying about Cheza.
"I dunno, a while I guess," he said, "Probably a few years."
"And is Yuri a good leader?" I said, not wanting the conversation to end.
"Totally! She may seem scary at first, but she really is a good leader. She really cares about all of us, almost like family I would say. We all look up to her, and every single one of us would die to protect her. She really is an amazing person." He said.
"You almost sound like you're in love with her," I commented.
"No no no, it's just that she and I created battlefront. We're really good friends, and I admire her skills as a leader," He said.
I returned to my meal, "Suit yourself," I mumbled through a bite of chicken.
There was a long pause before Hinata said, "Hey wait a minute! Why is it that you're the one asking all the questions?"
"Because you haven't asked me anything yet, and besides you just asked me a question." I said.
"Huh? Oh I guess you're right," he said, "So I've been wondering...Why are the six of you together? I mean, it doesn't seem like the six of you would ever become friends under normal circumstances, you're all so different from each other."
"I could say the same thing about the battlefront," I replied.
"You know why we're together. We're trying to get revenge against god, but I have no clue what you guys' motivation is." He explained.
"The reason we're together...it's partially out of need and partially our instincts. But our objective, the main reason that we are together, is to find Paradise," I replied.
After a long pause Hinata said, "Instincts huh? The way you worded that makes it almost seem like you guys aren't human," I cursed at myself for saying too much. I somehow managed to calm my mind and think logically.
'It's not like he accused me of being a wolf, so I'm in the clear, and besides they seemed to accept the fact that Cheza's a flower, so maybe they'll accept us as wolves. I still don't want them to know, but if it comes down to it whatever happens happens, and it they find out, they find out,' I thought.
"So you guys were looking for paradise?" Hinata's voice snapped me out of my reveries.
"Yeah," I said.
"Is that like heaven?" he asked.
"What's heaven?" I asked.
"It's where you go after you die if you lived a good life," he explained.
"Then no, it's nothing like heaven," I replied.
"What is it like then?" asked Hinata. This was dangerous territory, if I told him any of the stories about paradise he would probably figure out that we were wolves.
"I don't feel like talking about it right now, maybe I'll tell you later," I said.
"Sounds cool," said Hinata. I tried to take another bite of chicken, but I realized that my plate was empty, and so was Hinata's. We returned our dishes and exited the cafeteria.
"So what now?" I asked Hinata.
"We probably should get some rest, who knows what Yurippe has in store for us?" he said. With that we returned to the dorms.
Toboe POV
I watched Kiba and Hinata leave and suddenly had an idea.
"Hey guys! Why don't we all get to know each other?" The members of the pack were freaking out about what I had said, but the SSS members seemed to like the idea.
"Tonight's mission will probably require teamwork, so I think it's a good idea." said Oyama.
"I'll pass," said Tsume.
"Don't feel like it," said Fujimaki. The two of them walked back to the dorms.
"Good idea!" Shouted Noda, he then pointed his ax at Hige and said, "You! We're going to go spar." He then grabbed Hige's arm and started pulling him toward the place we had practiced the night before.
"Hey wait!" said Hige as he was dragged along, "I don't want to leave Blue!" At this Blue chuckled and followed, accompanied by TK.
"This one desires to observe this 'sparring'," said Cheza to Shiina.
Shiina responded with a, "How foolish," but proceeded to follow the other group with Cheza, nonetheless.
It was now just me and Oyama. I turned to him and said, "Do you want to go spar as well?"
"Not really. I'm not all that athletic, so it wouldn't feel like a good bonding experience to me." He replied.
"I agree, and if we're going to be fighting this evening it doesn't make sense to get tired out sparring beforehand, " I said.
"So what would you rather do?" asked Oyama.
"I dunno. You're more familiar with this place, so what do you think we should do?" I asked.
"Really? Thanks! How about we start by going to the vending machines to get some snacks. I'll pay," he said happily. It seems that people rarely ever asked for his opinion.
"Sounds good!" I replied. His smile grew even larger. Oyama led the way as we walked toward the vending machines, and as we grew nearer I saw that there were already four people there. There were three girls and one boy, all of which were wearing SSS uniforms. As we got closer I recognized one of the girls, the one standing farthest apart from the others, as Yusa, and a chill ran up my spine. The other two girls, one with orange-blonde hair and the other with lavender, were chatting with one another, and the dark-haired boy was standing in front of one of the machines. He kept feeding it more money and retrieving more sweet treats from the machine, even though he already had a large pile of them at his feet.
"Irie! Sekine!" called Oyama, and the two girls turned to face him.
"Hey Oyama! Who's that with you?" asked the lavender haired girl.
By this time we were next to the girls and there was no more need for the humans to shout. "He's a new recruit. I've been assigned to show him around and help him get used to the battlefront." said Oyama.
The girls then turned to me and the orange-blonde one said, "I'm Sekine and she's Irie. What's your name?"
"Toboe. It's nice to meet you," I said with a smile. In reality I was trying to keep from freaking out because I had noticed that Yusa was staring at me in that analytical way of hers.
Oyama noticed her watching us and said, "Hey Yusa, want to join us?" Yusa nodded and walked closer to our group. She stood between Oyama and Sekine, and continued her silent observing.
"Dang it!" said the boy in front of the machine. He then proceded to pick up the pile of snacks, which gave off such a strong sweet scent that I started to feel a little sick.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
He turned to our group, smiled sheepishly, and said, "Well, I was trying to get one of each type of snack in this machine, but I ran out of money."
Sekine frowned at the boy. "Eating that many sweets is bad for your health," she chastised.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I didn't really think about that," he said with a thoughtful expression. He then smiled and said, "By the way, my name's Mabrez. Well, that's my last name, but I don't like my first name, so I would rather if you called me Mabrez."
I noticed that Yusa had a look like she already knew his name, but tried to ignore it.
"By the way, you're Irie and Sekine from GilDeMo, right?" he said happily. The two girls nodded. "Cool! I'm a big fan. By the way, I don't think I've ever seen you before," he said while turning toward me.
"Oh, I'm Toboe," I said.
"Nice to meet you," he said smiling. He suddenly seemed to realize something. "By the way, here you go," he said while handing Sekine a package that said "Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich". "Now that I think of it, eating all of this stuff by myself would probably make me sick, so here you guys go," he said while he continued to hand out snacks. Irie got a container labeled "Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Bits in Soft Serve Ice Cream" and Yusa was handed a smaller package that said "M-azing Bar". Mabrez then stood in front of me and handed me something labeled "M&Ms Chocolate Bar". As that happened we made eye contact, and beneath his dark bangs I noticed that his eyes were a deep and striking blue color. It's not like I had a habit of staring into people's eyes; I just noticed them because I had never seen a human with such a strong eye color.
He then dashed off shouting, "Bye!"
"He had really interesting eyes," I said once he had gone into the dormitory building.
"Yeah," said Oyama, "They reminded me of the Tardis." This phrase confused me, so I looked at him and cocked my head sideways with a questioning look. He noticed my confusion and said, "Oh, it's something from a TV show I watched when I was alive. The Tardis is basically a time-traveling phone booth." I was still confused, so I raised my eyebrow at him. "Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things. Anyways, his eyes were the same color as the Tardis."
I then noticed that Mabrez hadn't given Oyama a treat like he had the rest of us. I pointed this out and Oyama said, "Oh yeah, I'm used to it. I'm really plain and average, so people tend to not notice me."
"Here have mine," I said while handing him the M&Ms Chocolate Bar.
His eyes were practically shimmering as he said, "Really? Thank you so much!"
"No problem, I don't really like sweets anyway," I said. The real reason was that the sickening smell from all those treats had significantly lessened my appetite.
We then started to chat as everyone ate their snacks. Soon, a question popped into my head and I decided to voice it.
"Hey, I've noticed that all the people in this afterlife are adolescents, so I was wondering...why is that? I mean, why were we all sent to this afterlife?" I asked.
Oyama looked at me and said, "Well, our theory is that we were sent here because we had unfulfilled lives. All of the SSS members I know had harsh lives and died with regrets, so some people think we were sent here to fix those regrets...or something like that."
"So you all had hard lives too?" I asked.
"Yeah, pretty much," said Oyama, "For me, my regret is shyness. I was always an introvert and didn't have any friends, but other than that I had a pretty normal life."
"How did you die?" I asked and instantly regretted it. I was prying too much, asking too many questions, just like Tsume always scolded me for.
Oyama smiled and said, "One day there was a snow storm. I usually rode the bus home, but that day I missed it. Usually under those circumstances I would call my parents for a ride, but they were out of town on a business trip. I should have asked someone for a ride, but I was too scared and shy, and pretty soon I was standing alone in the empty school parking lot. The storm picked up, and I decided that I would have to walk home. The problem is that my home was fifteen miles out of town, so before I got there I contracted hypothermia and froze to death." I was surprised at how open and willing to share his story he was.
The atmosphere was very silent and heavy, until suddenly Irie said, "Well, since we're sharing life stories I guess I'll go next. My mother was a heavy smoker, and because of that I got diagnosed with lung cancer only a few months after I was born. I would say I hate her for it, but I have no memories of her that I can direct my hatred toward because she died before my first birthday. I was then sent to stay with my abusive father. Between relapsing into cancer and father's beatings I was always in sick and injured, so I wasn't able to make friends. In the end, I died because my father beat my right after one of my surgeries and the re-opened wounds caused me to die from internal bleeding." By the end of her story Irie was shaking.
Sekine grabbed onto Irie's hand in order to comfort both the other girl and herself, as it was she who told her story next. "I somehow became a moderately famous voice actress when I was a child. Because of my success, my mother became greedy and made me work in lots of movies and shows. I was always busy, so I never had time to make friends, and because I was a minor all of my earnings were given to my mother, who spent it on lavish luxuries for herself. My father knew this was wrong, and it took a toll on him. One day he just...snapped. My mother was punishing me on the balcony for not getting the part in a recent voice tryout, and my father pushed the two of us over the rail. In my last seconds before the impact, I saw him jump off the balcony as well."
There was a long silence, and I was startled as Yusa started speaking, "My parents were divorced. They had joint custody and lived on opposite sides of the country, so I was always traveling between the two via airplane. I never stayed in one place long enough to get attached to anyone, not even my parents. Anyway, I died one day in the airport before one of my routine flights. I noticed a man forgot his briefcase, and was running to return it to him, when I was suddenly engulfed in an intense heat as the case blew up. I can only assume that the man was a terrorist bomber." Yusa's story surprised me because it made me realize that even though she seemed very heartless and robotic, she was a person too.
Then they were all staring at me. It seems they expected me to tell my story. I was about to try to explain it without saying too much when I suddenly picked up a familiar, and foreboding, scent. I whipped my head around and saw a glimpse of white hair. My own hair started standing on end as I realized that that person was walking toward us. I whispered in a frightened voice, "Angel!"
Oyama looked as well and said calmly, "Don't worry, she can't do anything."
"What do you mean?" I asked, still worried.
"Angel exists to enforce God's laws, so only picks a fight with us if we're breaking the school rules. Right now we aren't doing anything wrong. It's Saturday, so we aren't skipping class, and we aren't doing anything disruptive either. We're just standing near the vending machine and talking." Oyama explained.
"But doesn't she know that we've broken the rules before?" I asked.
"Yeah, but she is only violently if she catches us in the act of breaking the rules. Just watch, nothing will happen." said Oyama reassuringly.
Angel continued walking toward us and I continued to get tenser and tenser. But then, she stopped in front of a drink machine. After retrieving a canned beverage from the machine she turned toward us and I tensed up again. She said, "Hey, you're the boy that was with the guy with the dog, right?"
"Yeah, so?" I said defensively.
She walked up to me and said, "Do you know where it is now?"
"No," I lied. My thoughts were, "Right in front of you."
"Oh...okay," she said. Though her voice was monotone, it somehow seemed sad.
Her tome made me curious, so I asked, "Why're you looking for it?"
"I...wanted to pet it," she said in a barely audible voice.
Her answer stunned me. I, without thinking about the consequences, blurted out, "Well, if I find it I'll be sure to tell you so you can pet it!" I was instantly embarrassed by what I said and felt a red warmth creep into my face.
She bowed slightly and said, "Thank you," before turning around and leaving. Once she disappeared from view I let out a sigh of relief.
"See?" said Oyama, "She isn't dangerous at all as long as we're abiding by the school rules."
"Yeah, but that really stressed me out. I'm kinda tired, so I think I'll go take a short nap before the operation," I said.
Oyama smiled understandingly and said, "That's a good idea. I think I'll go take a nap as well."
And so, I returned to the room. Tsume was lying the lower bunk in his human form and was staring at the ceiling with his arms behind his head. He pretty much ignored me and said nothing. I hopped up onto my bed and quickly fell asleep.
Hige POV
Sparring with Noda was very taxing, and pretty soon I was exhausted. Even after I refused to fight Noda anymore, the event was still rather chaotic. I sat next to Blue and we watched the others. Cheza was off in her own world, Shiina was watching her from the shade of a tree, TK was also off in his own world, and Noda was getting grumpy from a lack of action. Pretty soon, the muscle-headed halberd-wielder stomped off because there was nothing to do. After he left I explained to Blue that I was tired, so we grabbed Cheza and went back to the dorms; Shiina and TK followed.
Yuri POV
I wouldn't admit it to anyone, but gutting fish was something I took pleasure in. The dark and sadistic part of me enjoyed stabbing the fish and pulling out their innards. I had already gone through my basket, TK's and Matsushida's, and was moving on to Hige's.
I picked up one of the fish and as I was about to slit its belly I noticed that the sides of the fish weren't as smooth as the others. I felt along the fish more carefully and found dent marks in the shape of a crescent on either side of the fish. I shrugged it off at first, but soon ran into another with the same marks. About half of the fish in Hige's basket had those marks.
I then moved on to Tsume's basket, and the first fish I grabbed had the same crescent of marks, but these ones were more defined than marks, they were pierce wounds that broke the fish's skin. As I went through Tsume's basket I found that about half of his had the dent marks and half of them were pierced.
By this time I was very suspicious. As I went through the baskets of the new members I found that Cheza's were the only fish that didn't have the marks.
"What the hell is going on?" I wondered to myself.
Well, that's that!
Please review so that I know some people are still interested in this story even after so long... I'll give you a sweet treat if you do.
Also...good news is that I'm going to start writing on this regularly, so you can expect at least one chapter per week. bad news is that I'm going to a summer camp tomorrow and electronics aren't allowed, so it'll be about two weeks until my next update. good news about the bad news is that you'll have enough time to go back and re-read the first four chapters because it's been so long you've probably forgotten half of what's happened. (Don't worry, I had to re-read it myself before I finished typing this chapter up)
