Sailor Moon Frontier Style
Chapter One: Pluto, Your Father
Koji
Sure, I'd had some weird dreams about the digital world and all of that good stuff, but never did I imagine that I was the long lost reborn heir to a kingdom that existed on the moon of all places. So yeah, I'd had a few weird dreams, mostly about the Digital World, but this one took the cake. This one was about me dressed as a girl (which I rarely do, partially because all my friends think that I'm a boy) and wearing a dress of all things. Standing next to me, dressed in armor, was a boy. He had blue hair and was dressed in navy blue armor trimmed in grey.
"Zhane, you'd better promise me you'll come back, or I'm gonna kick your butt from here to the sun, and let Zoe deal with you." I announced.
Zhane winced, but smiled at me all the same. "Okay," He said smiling. "I promise. But do you have to threaten to sick Zoe on me?"
I smiled innocently. "Sure I do Zhane." I replied matter of factly. "I mean, she's only too happy to kick your butt. So you'd better come back to me, or I'll personally drag off to Zoe."
He gulped. "Hey, I already promised, didn't I?" He complained.
I smiled at him. "Yes, you did." I said. "Okay, I'll take your word for it."
He leaned towards me and I leaned towards him. My heart hammered faster.
"Koji?" Koichi's voice interrupted my dream.
I sighed and sat up. "Yes, nii-san?" I asked, annoyed.
Koichi grinned at me. "Having a nice dream imouto-chan?" He teased.
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, so if you don't mind, I think I'll get back to it now." I pulled the covers up over my head, only for Koichi to pull them back down again.
"Sorry little sister, but it's time to get up now." He ordered.
"But Koichi!" I complained (okay, probably more like I whined). "And how did you get here anyway? Last I heard Dad disowned you."
Koichi scowled, remembering the day he met Dad.
Flashback
"Dad?" I called. "I'm home."
"Koji." He replied. "Have you thought about what we talked about?"
I nodded as he came down the steps.
"Yes, I have. I brought her some flowers." I looked around. "Where is she?"
"Out." Dad replied. "Who's your friend?"
I looked back at Koichi. "Oh, this is Koichi. My brother."
Dad got a furious look on his face. "You don't have a brother. He's her son."
"Dad, why didn't you tell me that Mom is still alive?" I asked. I had every right to know, after all. He shouldn't've kept it from me. "All these years I thought she was dead. I didn't even know I have an older twin brother."
Dad scowled. "He may be your brother, but he's no son of mine. If I ever see him here again, I'll call the police." I growled at him and felt Lobomon's power rushing through me. Koichi put his hand on my shoulder. I turned around and looked at him. He shook his head. I opened my mouth to protest, but he shook his head again. I sighed, but nonetheless, I let the power go.
"Come on Koichi, let's go visit Mom." I said and together we walked to Mom's house.
End flashback
Koichi gave me an innocent look. "Hey you're not the only one who has a bit of power from your spirits." He said, grinning. "I shadow traveled, using Lowemon's powers."
I rolled my eyes. "Of course you did. Just don't let Dad catch you here, okay?"
He rolled his eyes. "Of course I won't let Mr. Minamoto catch me." He retorted, puffing out his chest. "I'm way too smart for that."
I sighed. "What happened to the meek Duskmon turned boy turned Legendary Warrior I met in the Digital World?" I asked idly.
"Gone." My brother replied simply.
I grinned at him. "Well anyway, let's go visit Mom" I said. "I wanna see if I can light travel like you shadow travel. I mean, it'd be really cool if I could. It's save so much time walking, and Ophanimon-sama only knows how much time I spent walking everywhere."
Koichi grinned back at me. "So then let's do it." He said. He closed his eyes and began to fade into the shadows. I did the same, except I faded into the sunlight rather than the shadows. When I opened my eyes, I was at Mom's house. Koichi stood beside me, grinning like a loon. "So," He asked. "Shall we go greet Mom?"
He held out his arm in what I supposed was supposed to be a very gentlemanly way. I rolled my eyes, but smiled and took his arm anyway.
"We shall, Lord Koichi." I said in a posh voice while trying hard not to laugh.
"Then let us go, Lady Koji." He replied in the same voice. I rolled my eyes and smiled. My brother was a goof, plain and simple. "Oh yeah, did you hear?" Koichi asked eagerly.
I rolled my eyes. "No Koichi, I didn't hear, as I don't live here. Remember?" Koichi gave me a sheepish grin. I rolled my eyes again. "Anyway, what?"
"Mom got a promotion." He said gleefully. "So now she's making more money. Enough to support the both of us, so you don't have to go back to Mr. Minamoto."
I grinned. "Well that's good. In fact, that's not just good, that's awesome." I all but sang. "So, you wanna bust out the cards?"
I was, of course, talking about the Duel Monsters cards that we had bought on our last trip to America. Koichi grinned at me.
"Say hi to Mom first." He reminded me.
"After we say hi to Mom." I amended. "Do you wanna bust out the cards?"
My brother grinned at me. "Of course I wanna bust out the cards." He replied as if it should have been obvious. "I'll beat you this time."
I grinned. "We'll see Koichi, we'll see." I replied, and that ended that argument.
We were always debating over who would win. And I swear we were dead equal when it came to dueling skills. One time I'd win (barely) and the next he'd win. Then the next after that I'd win. It was a seemingly endless cycle. And we never used the same strategies twice, either. We learned that the hard way.
"Mom," I called as we reached the bottom of the steps. "We're home."
"Koji!" She said happily. "And Koichi. Come help me, will you."
"Sure Mom." We replied in unison.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"In the kitchen." She called back. "Fixing lunch."
I took a sniff and my stomach rumbled. Something smelled delicious. "Lunch? I like lunch. What's for lunch?" I asked eagerly.
Mom laughed. "Koji's favorite." She replied. "Orange chicken. Now come and help me."
"Yes Mom." We chorused.
My stomach rumbled as I ran into the now familiar kitchen.
When Koichi first brought me here, I got lost almost on a daily basis, but now the house felt as familiar as my own. Even more, in fact. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it!" I called, racing to the door. The person knocked again, this time three times, slowly. It seemed to mean something, because Mom gasped.
"Koichi, come with me to the door. I have someone I want you to meet." She commanded as I opened the door. Standing outside was a man who looked like a combination of every dictator in history. I felt like I should know this man, but I didn't know why.
"Koji." The man said. "It's good to see you again, my girl."
"Wait," I said frowning. "You know me? And how'd you know I was a girl? I'm dressed like a boy and I made sure to bind my chest."
He laughed. "Know you? Of course I know you." He replied. "I've known you since you were babies. I was there when you were born."
"Okay," I said. "But that still doesn't tell me who you are, or how I know you."
"Allow me to explain." Mom said, Koichi in tow. "Koji and Koichi, this is Pluto, yes the Roman god, Lord of the Underworld, ruler of the dead, and all that good stuff, and no you're not dreaming." My mouth dropped open as Mom took a deep breath. "Your father."
