Frozen Princess Of The Ancient Moon
Chapter One: Transformation: The One Called Eternal
Alice
Knowing that Grandfather would most likely overwork himself, I made lunch for him and brought it to him where he was working in the lab. Okay, so it was a rather simple lunch of pasta (mine with a lot of butter and parmesan and his with hamburger and no butter or parmesan) but it was about the extent of my cooking skills right about now.
I rang the doorbell, hoping he wasn't in the middle of an experiment.
Thankfully, he did come to the door.
"Alice?" He asked, surprised. "What are you doing here?"
I merely raised an eyebrow and held up the basket I carried. "Making sure you don't starve yourself, of course. I made pasta with hamburger like you like."
Grandfather smiled gratefully. "What would I do without you?"
I grinned. "Oh, probably overwork yourself and starve because you can't cook." I teased. I wasn't sure exactly how he survived without me or my father, though I had a feeling he lived off of takeout. Grandfather couldn't cook at all, and could probably burn water. Yes, he really was that bad. It amused me to no end, and I loved teasing him about it.
He grinned back. "Probably." He agreed. However, we were cut off by a loud explosion and a wave of energy, and I passed out.
When I came to again, I saw a white ball floating in front of me. When it opened, it was revealed that the ball seemed to be some kind of dragon. "Hello," She greeted, because she sounded like a female. "I'm Wavern. If I'm not mistaken, you're Gehabich Alice."
I raised an eyebrow. "What the hell are you?" She almost looked like the dragon from my dream last night. It certainly was a weird dream, involving a dragon floating behind me as I stood in a circle with several other kids my age, clearly waiting for something to happen. Except, the only problem was that just as something did start happening, I woke up. Oh, and the others' faces were all shrouded in shadows, which was very annoying.
"A Bakugan." She replied simply. "I promise I'll explain everything to you later, but right now, I need your help. I'm afraid this is something that only you and a very select group of others who are all around the same age as you can do."
I raised an eyebrow. "And that is?"
"Well first, we need to get rid of your dark half." Wavern answered. "When that wave of energy hit you, it created another being inside of you, called Masquerade. However, should he be allowed to stay where he is, he will take control of your body and force you to do evil things without your knowledge. That's why I'm going to get rid of him. While I'm at it, I might as well get rid of the other being in your grandfather. Hal-G, I believe his name is. He'll only cause both of you problems in the future. Better to get rid of him now, rather than later."
Both eyebrows shot up. "And how exactly are you going to do that?"
Wavern began to glow a rainbow of colors. "Using the power of the Infinity Core, I'll force them out of your bodies." The light became so intense that I had to throw up an arm to cover my eyes. When the light died down, I saw a boy who seemed to be a few years older than me who had blond hair. Most of his face was covered by a mask.
"So," He drawled, seeming unimpressed. "You're my other half? Pathetic."
I glared at him. "I'll show you pathetic!" I snarled and lunged at him. But before my fists could make any sort of contact with his body, he teleported away.
The same thing happened with Grandfather, except his other half teleported way without saying anything. How weird.
"That was Masquerade, your other half." Wavern explained. "It's a good thing I got rid of him, because he would have taken over your body and probably attacked your friends."
"Eh?" I said, a little weirded out. "Seriously? That's weird, and maybe a little gross too. I mean, that guy, Masquerade you called him, is a boy, but I'm a girl. How would that work exactly? I may only be twelve, but even I know the differences between boys and girls."
She shook herself. I got the feeling she was shaking her head, laughing slightly. "I don't know Alice, nor do I particularly want to know. And I'm sure you do know the differences, but let's not go into that right now. Now that that's over with, your friends Runo and Julie are in trouble and you're the only one who can save them."
I blinked, tiling my head ever so slightly to the right. "Me? But how? I mean, I'm just a kid and for another, they're in Japan last I checked. I'm in Russia. Even if I could help them, how would I get there in time to be of any real help? And what kind of trouble are they in anyway?" Grandfather often called me 'Little Miss Question All' because I always had a question. I'd say that applied pretty well here. Here was this dragon creature who called herself a Bakugan, claiming that my friends were in trouble and only I could save them. Who in their right minds wouldn't have a million questions? This was all too weird, but familiar at the same time, somehow. It was as if I'd done this before, but that was impossible. I couldn't have done this.
The dragon turned ball sighed. "I can't tell you all the details now because we're pressed for time, but there's a group called the Negaverse who are after spiritual energy that humans and a few other races produce. They want it so that they can awaken the Negaforce, although what that is exactly I'm still not completely clear on. There's a group of several girls and several boys as well who have the power to stop them, each with your own Guardian Bakugan. That's a Bakugan who can talk and fights for their brawler." She explained at my confused look. "I'm your Guardian Bakugan. Your friends, Runo and Julie are also a part of this group. Currently, however, you're the only one able to transform to defend the world and beat the Negaverse."
"Transform?" I questioned.
"You'll see what I mean." She promised. Yeah, that was real helpful.
"Um, okay. So what do I have to do then?" I still wasn't sure I wasn't dreaming all this.
Wavern began to glow and then this golden flower thing encased in a glowing bubble appeared. "Take this and call out the first thing that comes to mind." She instructed.
I took the floating flower in my hands, held it to my chest, and closed my eyes for a moment.
Then they snapped back open as I called out "Frozen Princess of the Ancient Moon; I ask to grant me power. The power of transcendence, the power of eternity, and the power of the immortals. I call upon you . . . Eternal! Ascendo!"
