The Third Boss Of The Subway
Chapter One: Beginning Of Trouble
Storm
I was training with my partner Belladonna the Simisage when the Ghost Train appeared again. Thankfully, our system shut down all the other trains to avoid a crash.
So, returning Belladonna to her ball, I followed my brothers to find out if everyone was okay.
Of course Belladonna wasn't too happy about that (she hated the ball because she was as fast, if not faster than I was) but she got over it.
"Nii-san, Nii-chan," I panted as I followed them. "Wait for me!"
Ingo turned around, smiling. "Of course, little sister."
I scowled. "Would you quit with all the little stuff?" I huffed as Ingo turned around and my brothers began their trek again.
They didn't even turn around this time, but I got the distinct impression that they were raising their eyebrows. "Don't you already know the answer to that?" They asked in unison like the twins they were. "Of course we won't stop calling you little. You're our favorite baby sister."
"That's it!" I proclaimed. "Trump card time. I swear if the pair of you call me little or a baby one more time, I'll die all of your clothes pink!"
They briefly stopped their trek, turned around, and smirked at me. "Only if you can find them." They spoke in unison again. "Little sister."
I glared at them and literally flew after them using my powers. "I'll get you!"
We made sure that everyone was okay, and then the train resumed its normal movement. Then, we met with Cilan, one of the Striaton City Gym Leaders and way too many different types of a Connoisseur to count, and two of his friends.
"Ingo, Emmet!" Cilan enthused. "It's been far too long." I cleared my throat and he blushed. "Sorry, and Storm too. I didn't see you there."
"If it isn't our favorite Metro Connoisseur." Emmet greeted.
The very corners of Ingo's mouth twitched upward. "Or as our favorite little sister puts it," He ignored the elbow I gave him. "Our favorite way too many types of a Connoisseur to count."
Cilan didn't even seem to notice, unfortunately. If he did notice, he ignored it. "I haven't seen you three since last year's subway convention."
I grinned. "You haven't changed a bit." I noted.
"There's a subway convention?" The black haired boy with a Pikachu on his shoulder asked blankly. I believe he was introduced as Ketchum Ash, from Pallet Town.
"It's a wondrous thing for subway lovers, and it meets every year." Cilan explained.
"So, is there a problem with the trains?" Isis asked.
Ingo-nii-san looked down. "There is." He admitted. "We've had several reports of strange train sightings we haven't been able to identify so far."
"We've been calling it the Ghost Train." I added.
"So that was the train we just saw!" Cilan realized.
I nodded. "Yup, chances are it was the train you just saw. It just appears out of nowhere and disappears into thin air at the same time every day. It's all very strange." In fact, it seemed like someone was running a test train, aside from the appearing and disappearing part.
"The Ghost Train unexpectedly appeared at Drawbridge Station. The ATO automatically stopped trains in the system to prevent any potentially collisions. But, true to its name, the Ghost Train vanished into thin air." Emmet-nii-chan explained.
Cilan said he'd never seen a train like that before, but there was no doubt that it was a real train and wanted to know how it could just vanish. Ingo-nii-san admitted that we didn't know, while Emmet-nii-chan added that that was why the three of us were investigating. I may have been several years younger than my brothers, but I was as much a Subway Boss as they were.
Not that I gave them much of a choice. The pair of them practically raised me after all, ever since they found me in the subway so many years ago not long after it first started, so I knew all the right buttons to push if I wanted something.
Cilan went on a rant about how dare whoever was the one behind the Ghost Train endanger the lives of innocent passengers and tarnish the Subway's reputation before their talking Meowth companion dragged him away to the Pokémon center. I followed at my own pace. I needed to get Belladonna healed from the training we did earlier. Remembering Belladonna, I let her out of her ball and was treated to a rant about the horrors of the ball and why a Trainer should never ever so casually stuff their favorite Pokémon in one of those awful torture things.
I laughed. "If I give you a massage at the Center, will you forgive me Belladonna-chan?" I asked.
Her eyes lit up. "Now you're talking."
I smirked and nodded smugly. "Uh huh, I thought so."
Belladonna glared at me. "Oh, rot in Tartarus." She grumbled.
I beamed. "Shan't." I dropped her off at the Pokémon Center and had the Audino give her a massage in the vault. The only problem was that not long after I left her there, the power went out. It had to be the doing of a human; it couldn't be nature— there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Then the drawbridge went up. This was bad.
After warning Nurse Joy of what I was going to do and grabbing Ash Cilan and Iris, I headed to the vault and prepared to bust it open.
"How are you going to get in though?" Iris demanded. "Only Audino or Nurse Joy can get in."
I smirked. "Not if I send of jolt of lightning through the doors and force them to open." Since I couldn't call a storm inside the Center (I wasn't skilled enough to do that just yet, unfortunately), I ran through a series of handsigns before I slammed them up against the door. "Lightning Style: Lightning Spark Jutsu!" A bit of lightning appeared in my hands before it disappeared into the doors and forced them to open. Not missing my chance, I hurried inside.
I saw a Meowth grabbing Pokéballs and tossing them down a chute. Finally, he tossed a Pikachu and an Axew, both sleeping in cages, most likely from a massage compliments of the Audino who gave better massages than most humans I knew, down the chute as well.
Well I had an answer to that.
"Meowth!" Ash exclaimed. "What are you doing?!"
"Heh, I never really got kicked out of Team Rocket. I was just pretending!" Meowth replied.
I grinned. "Well you won't be a part of them for much longer. Lightning Style: Lightning Spark Jutsu!" The lightning shocked him momentarily. "Pokéball go!" He was sucked inside and attempted to break free, but because I shot that blast of lightning at him, he wasn't able to break free. I beamed, satisfied at my work, and nodded smugly. "And that takes care of that."
"But what are we going to do about the Pokémon he stole?" Cilan questioned.
I grinned again, retrieved Meowth's Pokéball leapt up to the ledge of the chute, as small as it was, and then jumped down it with a cry of "All systems go!"
