Chapter 39: Day II; Of Kingdom and King
"… Baron." Anna says.
"… It is the time that I will disappear…" Baron says.
"No! I won't let this happen!" Anna says.
"No! I can't do anything!" Baron says.
"…" Anna says nothing.
"Good bye…"
"AHHH!"
Anna screams and wakes up. She finds herself in a house in a village.
Beside her bed, a Shiny Haxorus is sitting there.
"Aw… You hurt my ears." Shiny Haxorus says.
Anna looks at the Shiny Haxorus and thinks back to the event before she fell unconscious. She was fighting the bandit group. The leader of the bandit group was trying to attack her from behind, but… this Shiny Haxorus saved her life!
"W…What happen?!" Anna says.
"You fell unconscious, so I had to carry you on my back and brought you here. You are so heavy, lady." Shiny Haxorus says before Anna's weapon flies to his face.
"Woah!" Shiny Haxorus says and dodges Anna's weapon.
"How dare you say something like that to a lady?!" Anna says.
"But it is the truth…" Shiny Haxorus says.
"Anyway, where is this place?" Anna asks.
"Lapice City, a lonely city in the middle of Lapice Great Snowfield." Shiny Haxorus says.
"… You… You saved my life?" Anna asks.
"Yes, I saved your life, and you almost killed me by your weapon." Shiny Haxorus says and picks Anna's weapon from the floor.
"Oh! I am sorry!" Anna says.
"Don't worry." Shiny Haxorus says.
"Um… Sir Haxorus, may I ask you a name?" Anna asks.
"Hm? Sure. My name is Baron the Shiny Haxorus." Shiny Haxorus introduces himself.
'Baron?!' Anna thinks. Her face turns pale.
"Hm? What's wrong?" Baron asks.
"N…Nothing!" Anna says.
"Well… Then, how about your name, lass?" Baron asks.
"I am Anna the Goodra." Anna says.
"Wow! You have such a cute name!" Baron says.
Anna looks at Baron the Shiny Haxorus. Shiny Haxorus is very rare, but in her life, this one is the third one that she had met in her lifespan.
Speak of other two Shiny Haxorus… Anna thinks before start comparing Baron and Dragonking XII in her memory. Both of them look very familiar! But… Dragonking XII has so many deep scars on his skin, but Baron has none.
Anna sighs. It is not very common to run into a Shiny Haxorus. She finally runs into one, but it turns out not to be the Dragonking XII.
"Excuse me, Sir Baron. I must leave now." Anna says and gets out of a bed.
"Hey… Anna… I still want to know more about you…" Baron says.
"?" Anna looks at Baron.
"Why did you go to the Lapice Great Snowfield? You know that we the dragon type Pokemon hate cold." Baron says.
"Well… I am finding someone…" Anna asks.
"Someone? What kind of that person?" Baron asks.
"He is the Lost King of the Kingdom of the Dragonking." Anna says.
"Lost King? Do you mean the Dragonking XII?" Baron asks.
"Yes, that one." Anna says.
"But why must be now? Now the world had fallen into the chaos state. Everyone starts to disappear without any warning." Baron says.
"…Because…" Anna says before she starts telling Baron about everything about the Hero of Time's quest, the God's judgement and the Mirror of Nightmare.
"My friend asked me to find the piece of the Mirror of Nightmare, which is with the lost king of my kingdom." Anna says.
"… How does your friend know about the location of the piece of Mirror of Nightmare? I thought that Dragonking XII had disappeared for many millenniums already." Baron asks.
Baron's question reminds Anna of something. How can Iris knows the location of the piece of the Mirror of Nightmare?
"I don't know." Anna says and walks out of the room.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Baron says and follows Anna.
Anna walks out of the inn in Lapice City and looks around. Most citizen in this place are ice type Pokemon or the artic human.
"Anna! You forget this." Baron says and hands over Anna's weapon back to Anna.
"Oh! Thank you." Anna says and accepts her weapon from Baron.
"Anna, what the hell made you come up with the idea of using a Frying Pan as your weapon?" Baron asks.
"Well…" Anna says.
"But your Frying Pan is the ultimate weapon! You defeated those bandits in the snowfield with this Frying Pan." Baron says.
"Exceuse me, Baron. I must get going." Anna says.
"Going to?" Baron asks.
"To find the Lost King." Anna says.
"Then let me go with you." Baron says.
"Hm? Why?" Anna asks.
"Because travelling alone isn't a very good idea. Plus, who will carry you back to this place when you get hurt? And your body isn't very light…" Baron says before he has to dodge Anna's Frying Pan.
"Don't dare to tease me like that again." Anna says.
"Why so serious?" Baron says with a crafty voice.
"Hm!" Anna mumbles.
"And… The night will come soon… You should rest in this town for a night before continue the journey." Baron says.
Anna thinks. She has only a few days left, but she doesn't like to walk through the Great Snowfield at night.
"Okay." Anna says.
Anna and Baron walk up to Lapice Bar to have a dinner. At the Bar, they see a bard who is telling the story to everyone.
"I had been travelling around the world, sometimes I told the story of the lost legend to people, but sometime, I had to release the tormented soul from the body. This is the story of the great warrior who died a long time ago…" The bard says before he starts telling the story.
'After the king had fallen, it is the traditional for people in the kingdom to choose the new ruler… Their ruler must not be the one that full with power but lack wisdom, or vice versa, so it was not an easy job to do… But finally, they choosed the strongest, most intelligent leader…
The new king reigned the kingdom and brough the golden age to the kingdom, everyone in the kingdom is very happy about the age… Except one…
The king himself…
He had never felt the true happiness. Everything that he had, his wealth, his strength, his knowledge, they are all meaningless to him… It is just like a… mask that conceal his true face…
He didn't be strong because he wants to beat everyone…
He didn't be intelligent because he wants to knows everything about the universe…
The only reason for his need of power and wisdom is… he had to survive…
But… he couldn't bare it…
He had power and wisdom in order to survive, but everyone in his kingdom didn't think about it…
They thought about using his power and wisdom to invade other lands…
The king didn't agree with the plan to invade other kingdom, but everyone in his kingdom said that they want the war to occur. As the king of the kingdom, the king had no choice but to accept it…
With his power and wisdom, the kingdom can defeat everyone that stands on his way… Until one day…
In that day, there is a war on the great plain… the king also joined this war too…
He was in the war, fighting other Pokemon…
He is invinciblet, no one can even harm him.
But then, thing changed when someone slashed at his arm…
The bleed is very small, but he felt that he have lost all of his power.
He collapse on the ground. He try to stop the bleeding, but somehow, it doesn't stop!
The red blood spills from his body, draining his power and his life force…
He was dying…
But somehow, after the war ended, no one could find the corpse of their king…
Did he survive? Or he died?
No one knows..
It is the mystery that had passed down through generation…
After finishing telling the story, the bard stands up, playing his harp and slowly walks out of the bar.
