Catch the Thief

I need to decide the story I'm going to start by then so please, please vote!

I think it's going to be Green Society though, even though I wanted to write Yoru Hana, I think it will be postponed.

Dawn stared down at the cards. May introduced the members a new board game and it was pretty interesting.

"I give up, it's too boring." Drew said as he threw the cards up. The cards fell down on his head and he brushed it away.

"Why? It's a good game, not boring at all." May said.

"No, I don't like the role I got and this is a boring game." Drew said as he stood up and after he did that Gary, Misty, and Paul followed his example and slipped the card into the box.

"Meanies." May pouted and crossed her arms.

"I don't see a point of this game, that's all." Misty said.

Zoey looked up from the cards, "It can give me an idea for a new song."

"From a game?" Paul raised his brow.

"I get ideas from everywhere." Zoey said proudly as she concentrated back on the game.

The ones who stopped playing were chatting about their jobs and school projects while others finished the game.

"So who was the thief?" Gary asked.

"Kenny was. He is a true poker face." Zoey said while shooting him a look. Kenny scratched back of his head while laughing.

Zoey spun the pencil and dropped it.

"Kenny! I got a brilliant idea, come on!" Zoey said as she grabbed Kenny's wrist, who by the way was reaching for a cookie, and she stormed out of the room.

"What was that?" May asked and everyone sweatdropped.

"Something very not unusual." Leaf said with a giggle.

Everyone shared a good laugh and cleaned the game up.

"You know, I'm wondering what kind of song Zoey's going to write. She writes lovely lyrics." Marina said.

"But she ran out just while playing game about thieves. How lovely can it be?" Gary asked.

"Still, it would have a better plot than those cheap love songs you wrote." Leaf smirked and Gary frowned.

He poked Leaf on the shoulder, "My music isn't cheap." He said.

"Of course it's not. It's filled with sexual lyrics, of course it's not cheap." Leaf said with sarcasm rubbing off of her voice. Gary growled at his girlfriend who growled back.

"Hmmph!" They both crossed their arms and turned away from each other.

"Guys, stop acting like elementary students, especially you Leaf." May said.

"Since when were you an older sister?" Misty said and May stuck her tongue out at the carrot-top.

While two girls looked at each other they couldn't realize that the certain grass head was looking at the brunette.

"Drew, what are you doing?" Ash, poked the grasshead's shoulder.

"Who are you staring at?" Ash's question grabbed everyone in the room's attention. Even Paul's.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Drew said quickly but his friends, especially girls, didn't let him get away with it.

"Drew Hayden, you better tell us what Ash is talking about." Dawn said stepping closer to her brother.

Drew scooted backward, "Don't do this to me Dawn." Drew said as he shook his head.

"Come on, tell me! I'm your sister!" Dawn sparkled her eyes.

"That won't work on me anymore." Drew said flicking his hair.

Dawn pouted and looked up at him. Drew tried to avoid looking at the blunette but when he glanced at her, she was too adorable to resist but just before Drew almost fell for Dawn's trick, Paul pushed him away from her.

Wait scratch that out, punched him away from her, causing Drew to fall on the floor.

"Hey! What was that for?" Drew immediately stood up, but Paul just stormed out of the room.

"Stupid…." Drew muttered more under his breath as he dusted himself.

"Are you okay?" Dawn asked.

"He's still jealous, I guess." Drew replied and Gary nodded.

The door suddenly opened again and Zoey entered, dragging Paul by his collar and Kenny right behind them. They stared at the sight, amazed by how Paul can be dragged like that. Due to the height difference his knees were practically on the floor.

"It's been settled!" Zoey said, releasing Paul making him fall on the ground with a huge sound. He sat up and growled at Zoey which got simply ignored.

"What's been settled?" Ash asked.

"Your next song." Zoey answered.

"My next song?" Ash asked pointing at himself.

"Not you. All of you. It's a group song." Zoey said sitting on the couch and turning on her laptop.

"Oh." Ash said, looking disappointed.

"Besides, why should I write your solo song? I'm Divine Diva's song writer, not BLACK ROCK SHOOTER's. Your song writer is Kenny, not me." Zoey shot making Ash whimper.

"Anyway, that's not the point. This is a big one. And possibly the last big group song I'm going to write." She said.

"What do you mean? Your last group song?" Gary asked, sitting up straight.

"That's not the point. I'm going to type the music video plot really fast so Kenny, read it out loud. It's same to the song plot anyway." Zoey said and with incredible speed she started to type down the plot and Kenny started to read it slowly.

After she finished typing and Kenny finished reading, Zoey was out of energy and others were amazed. By both her speed of typing and the plot.

"How did you come up with a plot like that in less than an hour?" Marina asked, amazed.

"Maybe you should be a writer instead of song producer." Ash said Jimmy nodded in agreement.

"I will take that as a compliment and now it's time to take parts." The 10 looked at each other.

"Like the roles in the music video and the song?" Marina asked.

"Correct. Except for Phantom. He doesn't have the singing role." Ash groaned in disappointment.

And the 10 spent next 2 hours arguing and deciding the role they will have. Zoey grinned and typed down the roles and the singers of it.

"This will be a fantastic song. I'm sure of it, my greatest work." Zoey smiled to herself.

"And don't forget me. I'm writing the song, you are just doing the lyrics." Kenny assured the red haired tomboy.

"Shut up, I'm the one who brought up the idea." Zoey said after pinching Kenny's arm.

Kenny rubbed the part as he grumbled something.

Dawn looked into the laptop screen and smiled. She couldn't get the role she wanted but it was fine, she fitted this role. "So how's the schedule going to be?" She asked.

"Let's see, I have to send this to Adelheit and she will settle the schedule. Sorry hurry up and write the song you lazy bag." Zoey said to Kenny.

"Write the lyrics first you jalapeno."

"Who are you calling jalapeno?"

"You."

"You penguin-!"

"Guys, stop it. If I were you I would concentrate on the songs." Dawn said in a mother-like tone. The two kids stopped and grumbled at each other.

"Maybe we should separate those two?" Drew asked.

"No they have a job to do." Paul said and Drew replied, 'Oh right.'

Dawn looked at her reflection on the huge mirror. Although she started to like the role she got she hated the custom. It was tacky. Too tacky that she wanted to rip it out of her body, literally.

She looked at Leaf's outfit. It was forest green halter neck dress with black high heels. Now she was even taller than she was. Dawn sighed, she maybe should have tried harder to get the role that Leaf has right now.

Dawn turned to see May who was wearing simple white tank top and jeans with combat boots. She had changed her usual red bandanna to grey one. She was putting on a pair of leather gloves.

"Did you brought the clothes in your closet?" Dawn asked and May sweatdropped.

"No, they rented it." May humphed.

"Look at me!" Marina said in a pink waitress dress with frilly white apron.

"Jimmy is going to be happy. I am serious about that one." Leaf giggled as she patted Marina's head.

"I wonder how boys are doing right now." May said, looking at the door.

"Should we check it?" Misty asked.

"Nah, we will see them while filming anyways, we will tease them later." Dawn said and the door flung open surprising the girls.

"Come on, we are going to start filming!" Zoey shouted and the girls walked out, their heart beating fast for they will not be doing this for a long time.

The video started with an intense music

The letter is shown on the screen with cursive; My dear, I will pick it up this night. See you at the secret banquet

I will show you FANTASTIC dream.

Kenny: At the auction party held on the extravagant passenger ship, the S.S. Fantastic

I shall come to steal the 'Diamond of Happiness'

Tonight, I shall put on the ultimate show of phantom thievery. (narration)

It showed various photographs of the members of Black Divine

Dawn: A letter that arrived by chance-how Fantastic!

The scene got into a newspaper photo. It showed a view of the port with a huge cruise ship.

"A preliminary notice from an audacious phantom thief

As the newbie journalist spies the boarding gate,

Dawn was standing there, wearing checked stripe beret, white dress shirt and brown pants, holding camera. 'Journalist' word was scribbled down next to Dawn then disappeared.

"She runs about in search of the criminal…"

She was taking photos of the ship.

Paul: "Did the auctioneer forget something? When he steps off board-"

Camera turned and it showed Paul in white dress suit, looking at the watch on his wrist, running to find something. 'Auctioneer' appeared on the bottom of the screen then disappeared.

May: "Just barely on time? The mechanic arrives at her own pace."

Dawn turned to May, camera showing the woman who was in simple tank top, blue jeans, black leather gloves, and was looking up at the ship, looking bored. 'Mechanic' appeared on the corner.

Drew: "The police are coming aboard? And that sick-looking businessman…"

Camera lens moved, Drew was wearing a black police uniform and next to him was a man, his face not shown though, looking down, covering his mouth. The word 'Police' appeared next to the businessman.

Gary: "It seems he's involved with the mafia behind him?"

The camera shifted to the man pointing at the ship with mischievous face. Wearing white dress shirt, blue tie and brown vest. The word 'Mafia' was shown on next to Gary.

The scene then showed the VIP room of the ship, Jimmy, Marina, Leaf, and Ash standing there.

Jimmy: "A secret auction aboard"

Leaf: "A gorgeous passenger ship."

A beautiful diamond appeared on the screen and Paul's voice sang on the background.

Paul: "For a legendary diamond"

Marina: "That brings happiness."

The scene shifted to the ship's deck, Gary, May, Drew, and Misty were standing there.

Gary: "Let the tight web of security"

Drew: "Be brilliantly disrupted."

The scene shifted to the hall inside the ship, with a small table with diamond box on it.

Jimmy, Drew, Marina, Leaf: "On the Fantastic Phantom's show-"

The scene showed the characters quickly appearing then disappearing.

"Shall we begin?"

Dawn: "Are you ready?"

Dawn appeared alone, holding the camera firmly.

The scene then repeatedly showed articles about the Phantom Thief and lots of various objects.

Dawn, May, Drew: "Concealed in extravagant Fakes, the Joker sets into motion."

Dawn, May, Drew, Paul: "The die of a perfect unsolved crime is cast."

The scene showed a black skull over newspaper.

Then various cards started to appear

"All the cards are in order, and in the moving Finale,

Let the truth be exposed through my Finder!"

The last card showed Heart Jack with Dawn in it.

Interlude; the scene showed view of the ship from outside.

Then quickly swirled, now the Dawn's camera showing Misty, doing a magic performance.

Misty: "The magician's sideshow; does her performance carry an omen?"

Next to Misty's top hat, was shown 'Magician' as the doves flapped their wings.

The camera moved to the clock showing clock now in 7:10.

Marina: Is the starting time being slightly pressed?" (background)

Scene shifted to Drew, holding a whistle scowling at something.

Drew: "Is the rigorous guard getting tense? The police-"

With a loud whistle sound on the background, it showed Gary with a grin and glancing at the police.

Gary: "Is he glaring at that rowdy mafia?"

The scene went back to the VIP room, Dawn showing Jimmy with his hand on his head. He was wearing black suit with brown tie and glasses.

Jimmy: "The Politician spills his wine-might be the lacking sleep…?"

The camera showed slightly tilted wine glass on Jimmy's hand. Next to Jimmy's hand word 'Politician' was shown and soon disappeared.

Ash: "The doctor beside him says, 'Have your medicine...'?"

The doctor; Ash handed Jimmy a small golden container. 'Doctor' appeared then disappeared.

The camera shifted to other side of the room, Marina kneeling next a red couch, looking up. She was wearing pink dress and white apron, holding a tray with various drinks.

Marina: "The gentle waitress recommends wine with champagne, and…?

Next to Marina was the word 'Waitress' then disappeared.

The camera shifted up, showing Leaf in green halter neck dress, black high heels, wearing pearl necklace shaking her hand a little.

Leaf: "The actress asked for whiskey on the rocks?"

Camera showed her hand holding a glass cup containing brown liquid. Next to the cup was 'Actress'.

The scene showed Paul standing in middle of the crowds, preparing to begin the auction, his arms spread wide.

Paul: "The star of the night."

Leaf: "Finally debuts." (background)

The camera closed up to the box.

Misty: "The hall is in uproar" (background)

May: "Over the fascinating sparkle." (background)

The box opened and showed the glittering diamond.

Gary: "The net of security" (background)

Drew: "Has not a single gap;" (background)

Now the scene went far away from Paul

Showing Dawn, the journalist instead, soon disappearing into the crowd.

Gary, Ash, Paul, Marina, Leaf: "Aah, by all means, an impossible crime-" (background)

Ash and Leaf: "Shall we begin?" (background)

Now showed Paul on the left of the screen, his right hand on his chest. On his left was Dawn, still holding camera and with determined smile. The background was black with letters;

Dawn, Paul: "Are you Ready?"

The scene showed yellow background with white diamond in the middle, camera flashes silhouette showing.

Drew, Gary, Leaf, Dawn, Jimmy: "Eight place their bids, the hammer dancing."

"Greed, assets, disgraceful foolishness-a party where all is laid bare?"

The scene quickly showed picture of Leaf, Jimmy, Gary, Marina, and soon showed money falling down.

Hammer slammed down.

"Suddenly the lights go out-power outrage?"

The screen became dark.

"In the total darkness, a gunshot echoed to raise the curtain on the show…."

A black silhouette showed and fired, light sound of shattering glass in the background.

Dawn, her picture in white showed in the screen looking at the camera. Soon a painful scream filled the air.

Jimmy: "In ten seconds," (background)

Dawn: "the power's back." (background)

The light turned on, Dawn was looking around, her grip tightening around the camera.

"-just a random accident?"

Gary: "Where did that gunshot come from…?" (background)

Drew: "That wasn't in luggage inspection!" (background)

Marina: "It seems the window glass is broken…?" (background)

Dawn: "Wide enough for a person…."

May: "'Someone's fainted!' Yaaaahhh!" (background)

Dawn, Drew, May: "3,2,1, ACTION!" (background)

The screen showed numbers, 3,2,1 and wide ACTION

The scene went back to the room, the first thing Dawn's camera caught was Jimmy in Ash's arm.

Jimmy: "The doctor tends to the fallen

Ash: "Politician dyed scarlet."

The scene closed up and showed Jimmy with his eyes closed and the doctor holding the golden container.

Leaf appeared in the scene and the sound of glass shatter came from the background.

Leaf: "Behind them the actress

Marina: "Cleans up the fallen glass."

"Then bumping into the waitress in the spur."

White feathered creatures flapped around the room.

Misty: "Of the moment, flapping doves."

The scene showed Misty pointing at something.

"Flee out the cracked window, sent by the mourning distracted magician."

The scene shifted to Gary on the floor and pointing upward.

Gary: "At whom the teasing mafia jeers,"

Drew was scolding Gary with angry look.

Drew: "Under the police's watchful eye."

May appeared, getting pointed by Gary, she was holding a folder and holding out her hand, as if she is telling the mafia that it wasn't her fault.

May: "To which the mechanic holding a report for the breaker trouble comes,"

"And besides her, the journalist stands

Dawn: "on alert for into for a scoop"

The scene showed full view of panicked room and then to Dawn's feet.

"With a bullet at her feet-

Paul: "Now who shot it, at what, and for what?" (background)

Dawn's camera went to all the people in the ship.

"Just as someone whispered the question,"

The scene closed up to the singers, quickly going back and forth.

Dawn, Paul, Marina, Jimmy, Drew: "The auctioneer's shriek roared to tell the end-"

The camera showed Paul holding the red box, staring down at it with shocked look.

Paul: "Oh really?"

The scene viewed the whole room, now in panic.

Dawn, Drew, Gary, Ash, Jimmy: "The Diamond of Happiness gone, the hall is in chaos.

The guards search for the culprit, one person unaccounted for-"

Everyone: "Say what?!"

The scene showed the 10 people's shocked look with Dawn in the middle, shocked and scared look on her face.

Dawn, Drew, Gary, Ash, Jimmy: "Broke the window, jumped out on the deck? Dove into the sea?"

The scene moved to the broken window then to the deck and then to the dark ocean, a light viewed the sea, showing a black top hat.

Everyone: "An eeriely-drifting silk hat…"

The scene showed two silhouette of Dawn running to the middle from each sides toward the shining diamond in the middle.

"The suspect and diamond gone, the truth is in darkness."

A silhouette of a man in top hat appeared and soon disappeared.

Then Dawn came, the silhouette posing to take a photo.

"This ends the show of the perfect, unsolved crime.

Now the cards are all in order

So to the moving Finale

Will you show who saw it with a front row seat show the way?"

The cards with the singers' picture on it flew around and then showed Dawn with her camera.

The ending credit showed;

Dawn Berlitz: Journalist

May Maple: Mechanic

Leaf Green: Actress

Misty Aqua: Magician

Marina Aqua: Waitress

Paul Shinji: Auctioneer

Drew Hayden: Police

Gary Oak: Mafia

Ash Ketchum: Doctor

The scene then showed the silhouette of Dawn running around, shooting pictures and the singers face all appeared and it ended with the title on the top and the silhouette of everyone in one line under it.

Dawn read the articles about their new song. She could just feel the smile appearing on her face even without trying.

"Zoey, they are saying this is the best song they've heard from you!"

"Yeah making that one song made me say 'goodbye' to all my energies I saved up over winter."

"What are you, a squirrel?" Kenny laughed and got a kick on his leg.

"People are thinking that this is my song, not our song. Take that!" Zoey said and with that they started to argue.

"Aah, young love." Leaf sighed at the two.

"Speaking of love…." Dawn turned to May with a mischievous grin on her face.

May blinked for a moment and about 10 seconds later she realized Dawn was talking about her.

"Hey! I wasn't-"

"There there, it's okay. We understand you. Love is a hard business." Marina said trying to be helpful but May slapped Marina's patting hands away.

"I don't know what you are talking about." May said with stubborn tone.

"Come on, ask him once more."

"Yeah yeah, you want your friend to get dumped twice." May said with sarcasm.

"No I noticed that Drew is looking at you a lot. Not Dawn, you." Misty said.

"Is that some kind of new prank you are going to pull on me?"

"No…"

"Then please just tease the one who is about to get a boyfriend, that jalapeno over there."

"I am not jalapeno!" Zoey suddenly yelled.

"Look she didn't get mad about the 'boyfriend' part! She finally admitted it!" Misty said and did high fives with the others, getting on the redhead's nerves.

"Why are those kinds of girls my friends." Zoey groaned and Kenny looked down.

"Ooh is something wrong with the Penguin?" May asked.

"Shut up."

"I was always wondering, why is his producer name Penguin?"

"His favorite animal is penguin." Dawn answered Misty's question.

"Is that seriously the only reason?"

"Possibly." Dawn said and Kenny rushed out of the room with his phone ringing.

"What's that?"

"Adelheit. She said she wants to talk to him about the song." Zoey said.

"How do you know that?" May asked.

"She called me about an hour ago."

"Wonder what's it about…."

"Nothing important just some compliments."

…

May was wearing a sky blue t-shirt under pastel pink bolero shirt. She had short white pants and red sneakers. She thanked Dawn for lending her clothes and sighed.

She nervously looked at her phone and looked up. About two days ago Drew asked her to go to Veilstone with him.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." May looked up to see Drew in black T-shirt, light blue cardigan and a pair of jeans. He was wearing purple sneakers.

"No, nothing to be sorry at all." May said shaking her hands.

"Shall we go then?" Drew asked with a dashing smile of his and held out his hand.

May stared at it for a moment and grabbed it with shaking hands.

"Sure!" May beamed at him and the two walked down to the bus station.

…

Dawn was sitting on the rooftop of the dorm. She watched May grabbing Drew's hand and the two walking away. She smiled. Although it felt bit weird to see her friend getting along with her ex-boyfriend she felt happy for May. After hearing how hard May's love life was previously she wanted to wish the best for her.

Dawn heard the door creaking open and saw Paul.

"Hi." He said.

"Hey." She answered and gestured him to sit next to her.

"So, how's it going?" He asked.

"Nothing much." Dawn answered and looked down at the two teens. Paul saw where she was looking at and raised his brows.

"Drew said May was the thief."

Dawn turned to Paul and tilted her head in curiosity.

"He thought that he wouldn't fall for another girl this quick."

"And May stole his heart." Dawn said.

"And he is going to catch the thief."

"Precisely."

The two silently watched the couple disappearing and glanced at each other.

"Umm, you are not mad at me, right?" Paul broke the silence carefully.

"Huh? No."

"Good…."

Another silence gulped them and the two nervously just sat there.

Paul was thinking hard to get something out of his head for the topic of the conversation.

"Hey Dawn."

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry."

"For what?" asked the blunette.

"For what I've done to you."

Dawn smiled and moved herself close to him. "Am I a thief too?"

"For what?"

"For stealing your heart."

Paul didn't reply. He stayed silent and looked far at the distance. "Maybe." That was his reply before he stood up and exited. Dawn stared at the door and then the floor.

"Then when are you going to catch the thief?"

5 chapters left, I think….

I feel nervous thinking about it

I am possibly going to write Green Society, I mentioned that haven't I?
