Chapter 57: PoLIS; Rucas's Secret
-Link and Rucas's Trial
Unlike other tree trials, Link and Rucas's trial is a dungeon with strong enemies and hard puzzles. But because Link and Rucas are very strong due to being the first two heroes that join the quest in saving the Irtha, so both of them have a little problem in travelling through the dungeon.
While travelling through the dungeon, Link and Rucas don't talk to each other because they are in a very hard state. According to the words that they share before going into this trial, one of them is truly exist while the other is just the other's reflection in the mirror. Both of them believe that they truly exist, so they couldn't handle the fact that the other is not truly exist. But… Who does truly exist?
Navi is worried about both of them. She believes that Link is the one that truly exists, but she is concerning about Rucas too.
'Why?! Link and Rucas…' Navi thinks.
After passing through the long dungeon, Link and Rucas end up in a big room. There is nothing in the room except that the wall of this room is made from the mirror and there is a hole on the ceiling, making that it is possible to see the night sky via that hole, and there is no way to proceed to the next room…
"It's the dead end, so we'd better go back…" Navi says. Then she and Link are about to leave the room, but…
"…You can't go back." Rucas says.
"What?!" Navi says.
"I say that you couldn't go back!" Rucas roars and releases an Aura Sphere to Navi, making Navi moans in pain!
! Link looks at Rucas. His eyes are glowing red. What happens to him?!
Suddenly, Rucas's eyes turn back to normal!
"Li…nk….Es…cape…" Rucas says, but then, his eyes turn red again! He roars and looks at Link with his ferocious eyes!
'Rucas?!' Link thinks.
"RRRRRRR!" Rucas roars, but then, his eyes turn back to normal!
"Hu…rry…. Li…nk… Bef…ore…. Th…e….Moon…." Rucas says.
'Moon?!' Link thinks.
Suddenly, the moon appears over the hole in the ceiling. The moonlight shines into the room below. But… The moon in this night is not an ordinary moon, it is a Fullmoon!
'!'
"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" Rucas roars before his eyes turn red again, but… this time, he turns into a very ferocious creature!
'!' Link is shocked because the ferocious creature that Rucas turns into is the same monster in his 2nd and 5th dream!
'Rucas?! You are that ferocious creature?!' Link thinks.
'RRRRRR' Rucas roars before starting to attack Link!
-After a long fight
All that Link can do is to avoid Rucas's attack. He couldn't attack Rucas because it will kill Rucas if he attack him. But the situation turns worse. Rucas is still attacking Link.
But then, Link finally understands. It looks like that the thing that turns Rucas into the ferocious creature is… the Moonlight! Then… Link picks something from his bag. It is the Ocarina of Time. He plays the song. Since he couldn't play the Song of Sun to go to the next day, he plays the other song, the Song of Storm.
The melody makes the cloud covers the sky, veiling the moon. Without the moonlight, Rucas roars in pain before collapsing on the floor, and then his body is gradually turning back to normal…
Link walks up to Rucas, who is wet due to the ceiling over the spot that he lied has a hole, making the rain falls through the hole and soaks Rucas's body.
"…L…ink." Rucas says.
'Rucas, are you alright?' Link asks via his mind.
"I…am sorry… Every… The Fullmoon night… I.. turn… to…ferocious creature." Rucas says.
'So… You are the creature in my dream, right?' Link asks.
"Yes… I…was so…afraid… to tell… you the truth." Rucas says.
'Forget it, Rucas. It is just a nightmare.' Link says.
"Link… There is something… that I hadn't told you yet…" Rucas says, and then the back of his left hand glows with the golden aura. It is the sigh of the present of… Triforce?!
'You… have a Triforce?!' Link asks.
"Yes… I am…the one that… you are finding… The holder of… The Triforce of Willpower." Rucas says.
'…' Link says nothing.
"Link! Rucas!" Navi says after she finally regains her consciousness. It seems like that she couldn't remember anything that was happened.
"…. It is nothing, Navi. And this is the end of the dungeon already. Let's go back to the main hall." Rucas says.
While they are heading back to the main hall, Rucas whispers something to Link.
"The reason that I travel with you is because I want to find the secret of my power as well as why the Triforce of Willpower is with me…" Rucas says.
'What?! Didn't someone give you that Triforce?' Link asks.
"No, I was born with it." Rucas answers.
'…' Link answers nothing.
-Finally…
Finally, Link, Rucas and Navi reach the main hall of the dungeon. The sealed door is completely unsealed. It is possible to pass through it. In front of the door, Diasol, Yterval, Anna and King Baron are waiting for them. But… Where are Xynnia and Frostic?
"Link! Rucas! Navi!" Diasol says.
"Where is Xynnia and Frostic?!" Rucas asks.
"We are worring about them. They are not coming out of their trial yet…" Yterval says.
"But… The midnight had passed already… We have only six hours to save the world." Anna says.
"… I think that we should go first. Don't worry about Xynnia and Frostic, both of them are strong. And I believe that Frostic will not do any harm to Xynnia." King Baron says.
Everyone decides to trust King Baron's word. Then they turn their attention to face the door.
Link swallows his saliva and opens the door. The road ahead is very dark. Link, Navi, Rucas, Diasol, Yterval, Anna and King Baron hide their fear and enter the door…
