Also, the small part from the talk in Diagon Alley is straight from the second book.

13 August 25 / August 26 1992

"Bye Jennie, see you tomorrow!" waved Harry as he walked away with a little rucksack on his back, and Jennie waved back and watched until he disappear inside, then she turned and walked back into her house, thinking like mad.

Something was up, the house elf's little visit proved that and that was another reason to worry more than usual; would the little creature use his complex magic and try to stop Harry from going to school? Jennie gnawed on her lower lip as she fell down on the living room floor, not caring for the couch since the floor was great to sit on when she needed to think seriously; Jennie had made sure that the floor was made of oak since the old tree was dear to her.

"Right… mad first year… mysterious house elf visiting talking about a possibly mad second year… I can't follow Harry around at school… manipulation but kind Headmaster who's not on my side… stern and kind Deputy Headmistress on my side… clever neighbor on my sad, a lot of cats but still clever… what to do, what the fuck to do?! I need a way to be able to get to my little man if something should happen… and to find such a way I need Minerva… gosh the world is mad!"

Jennie lay back on the hard floor, her rant had helped – but then it always helped to rant – and she felt a little surer about what to do, now all she had to do was to figure out how to do things.

####

"Jennie dear, I can't see how you have come to this conclusion, but I totally agree that you need a fast and safe way to get here without someone picking you up... a Portkey would be a way, but it's hard to make them so that they take you to a different place each time and that is what you would need to be able to do… I will think this trough dear, and I will send Athena with my thoughts", said Minerva hour later when Jennie had finished her rant; she had to have a way to get to Harry no matter where he was, she also had to be sure that the house elf Dobby didn't use his complex magic to hurt or stop harry from going back to school, and she needed a faster way to come in touch with Hogwarts's Deputy Headmistress than by owl.

"Ah good! I know I can count on you!" beamed Jennie and gave the older woman a hug which was warmly returned.

"Hi pretty girl, what a nice mouse you have for me!" cooed Jennie as Sunshine hooted proudly while dropping the little dead creature on the floor by Jennie's naked feet.

"Aren't you going to eat it, girlie?"

The owl hooted again and jumped onto the floor and devoured the mouse and Jennie giggled madly as she sat down on the floor and leaned against the wall as she watched her owl treat herself.

"You know girl, I sometimes think this protecting bit would be easier if I had some kind of magic myself…" Jennie confessed aloud when Sunshine hopped to her and hooted happily; she stroked the birds head fondly as the owl jumped onto her leg and settled down there.

"I mean, what if someone comes here, someone magical, and I need to help Harry? I'll be at disadvantage since I'm non magical, but I'd feel crazy if I really could do magic… this is giving me a headache!" complained the blonde as her owl fondly hooted and buckled her hand with her cold beak before settling down again with her head under one wing. Jennie continued to pet the bird for twenty minutes before she gave up on staying awake, peered Sunshine up with her as she rose, placed the bird in her little sleep alcove and exited the room.

"Jennie, you are a darling to care for him!"

Jennie blinked, confused by the ginger haired woman's obvious liking of her, but pleased as well.

"Ah… hello Mrs Weasley", she mumbled politely and then she was abruptly embraced as the older woman hugged her.

"We are delighted to meet you, Harry has told us so much about you!" gushed Molly Weasley and Jennie smiled a little, quite dazzled and even more thrown back when the red haired girl Ginny, gave her a quick hug and whispered "you're really pretty!" in her ear.

The Weasley family was indeed big on affection.

This day, august 26, Jennie had boldly accompanied Harry to buy school supplies, and the boy was as happy as ever to have her company which she found reliving. The strolled along the packed alley and Jennie watched and listened as Harry happily pointed to his favorite places and dragged her into various shops to show cool stuff, as he called it.

In a bookstore which name Jennie couldn't remember they encountered quite the hurry-scurry as witches of all ages where gathered around some struck up author, and Jennie panicked a little when she found herself loosing Harry; but calmed when she spotted him with his friends, talking to a blonde boy…

"Hey… I know that look", muttered Jennie as she made her way through the crowd; the blonde boy was not a friend, and when he was joined by a blond man, Jennie suddenly knew that this was Malfoy and his father, which Harry had spoken about a few tikes with evident dislike.

"… wizard if they don't even pay you well enough for it?"

Jennie only caught the last part of what Mr Malfoy said to Arthur Weasley, but from the way the ginger haired wizard flushed she guessed it was nothing nice.

"We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy", said Mr Weasley sharply, and Jennie hid a smirk behind a cough as she joined the group, and for a moment she saw the cold icy eyes of the fair haired man slide over her. His gaze felt like buckets of ice.

"Clearly", said Mr Malfoy, his pale eyes straying to Mr and Mrs Granger, who were watching apprehensively. "The company you keep Weasley… and I thought your family could sink no lower-"

Jennie lashed out for Arthur as he moved; it wouldn't do him any good to hit the other man, she knew that much.

"Arthur, no! let me!" she sighed in his ear so that the other wizard would not hear, and calmly stepped around the ginger and smiled up in the cold eyes who now looked straight into her own.

"Hello. I'm Jennie Andrews, and you must be Draco's father", she said and smiled politely, offering him her hand, knuckles up; she knew he was old fashioned, his entire being screamed it.

"A pleasure", murmured the blond man and placed a chaste kiss on her knuckles. "Lucius Malfoy."

"Charming! I do love you robes, they are extraordinary!" Jennie went on, beaming like a sun. The blonde aristocratic wizard bought it.

"Yes, they are quite rare, bought from a very famous rob maker; my wife and I only by our clothing there."

"That is an excellent choice! And where is your wife? I would love to see her clothing if it as good as yours!"

Jennie blessed herself for investing in a set of robes that matched her eyes; it was always good to blend in when being somewhere not quite home, and in this moment, she felt even more that she had done right; Lucius Malfoy though she was a witch.

"I am afraid she is not here right now, otherwise I am sure she would be as pleased as you are with a meeting. Perhaps you can send her an owl and the two of you can meet for lunch and shopping when school has started?" said Lucius Malfoy and smiled charmingly and boy did he look good, even for a usually cold man.

"I would love that!" gushed Jennie and made sure to beam even more and flutter with her eyelashes; it never hurt.

Lucius Malfoy bowed to her, kissed her knuckles and then – to Jennie's surprise – handed Ginny a book.

"Here is your book, little girl, take good care of it", said he and Jennie gave a mental scoff since it was clear that the man really wanted to snarl the words.

"I will send the owl, Mr Malfoy, and it was a pleasure meeting you", smiled Jennie and the man smiled back, a glint she knew at once in his eyes; lust.

"My friends call me Lucius my dear, and the pleasure is mine. Narcissa will be delighted to hear from you. Draco, come along now! Good day to you all."

Jennie went on beaming, and even offered a little wave as the two blondes left, and when she was sure they were well gone, she collapsed against a bookshelf.

"Jennie that was-"

"Harry, don't talk for a minute dear… I need to breathe!"

Jennie threw off the robe and fell onto her bed, totally worn out.

"Never again!" she mumbled as she scrambled under the duvet and let exhaustion take her.
