Hi folks! Here's chapter 16, enjoy and tell me if you like it =)

I own nothing except my character and the plot and so on..

16 December 3 1992

Jennie hummed annoyed as she paced pack and fort outside the gates of Hogwarts; even though she could see the castle, there where so many security spells and charms placed around the school grounds that she couldn't enter without magical assistance.

"Jennie!"

She whirled around as Minerva's voice rang out from the other side of the gates, and in the next minutes the iron slid aside and Jennie rushed in.

"Morning", she greeted briskly and Minerva nodded in response, and then the two women hastened up towards the castle.

"So, am I right?" asked Jennie as she entered the castle and felt a chill as the stone walls closed in around her.

"I do not know, you are right that Harry has heard a snake through the walls, but I do not know about the Basilisk theory you have", replied Minerva and Jennie threw up her hands in resignation.

"Oh come on Minerva! From what I've learned, Salazar Slytherin was a great Parseltongue, and what would make more sense than him raising the king of snakes as a pet just 'cause he could do it?"

"I do see your point Jennie, but we need more facts before we go barging about a giant snake!"

"Ah for the love of… say that when the snake hurts more students!" replied Jennie in s frantic sing-song voice and Minerva clicked her tongue at her.

"You are very rude."

"Ah, don't tell me you're annoyed?"

"Of course not! I'm annoyed that things are the way they are, but that's not your fault", laughed Minerva and Jennie grinned.

"The power to laugh in the middle of seriousness is great!" she stated as they took a stair upwards.

Jennie had received a letter from Harry the day before, and then one from Minerva, both letters telling the same thing; that he had somehow stopped a snake from biting a boy in another house, by using a foreign language. Jennie had of course read everything on the subject and more, and that was how she had come up with her theory, which led to her visiting the school; she was going to meet the Headmaster and then have a chat with Harry.

"So, what has he said?" asked Jennie, referring to the Headmaster.

"Strangely, not much at all, I think he hides something, or he might have a plan but has chosen not to tell…" mumbled Minerva as they stopped in front of a statue which, in Jennie's opinion, looked hideous.

"Ice Mice", said Minerva, the tone of her voice suggesting that she loathed passwords that had silly names; Jennie giggled.

"That's just so silly! I bet any one could pick the password if one stood here and guessed long enough!"

The stair stopped, and Minerva knocked on the door, which swung open, and then motioned for Jennie to enter.

"Good luck. I'll be in my office, you remember the way I trust?"

"Thanks. Yes, I'll pop by", smiled Jennie and walked inside the room, which was circle shaped and filled with various things; book cases, table with strange looking things and a large desk and some armchairs, and – the strangest thing of all – a bird resting place; an impressive golden perch with a flatter bowl under it. And the bird, she couldn't take her eyes off it. It was large and glittered like fire, its feathers golden, red and orange.

"Hi there you pretty thing…" she mumbled and strolled slowly closer to the bird, which let out a screech that was more of a happy melodious sound.

"You look nothing like they describe your kind… you're beautiful!"

She let her hand reach out, and the large bird dipped its head forward and she carefully let her hand touch its soft head, and the bird seemed to enjoy the petting, for it let out another happy sound.

"You will find, my dear, that pictures seldom justify reality."

Jennie smiled polite and stopped petting the bird as she turned around and face Hogwarts's Headmaster.

"Hello Albus. I hope you are well."

"Jennie my dear, splendid to see you, and yes quite well thank you, and let me say you look splendid!"

Two hours later Jennie stepped out from behind the statue and hurriedly made her way to Minerva's office, so dazzled that she walked past the door and had to go back to knock and be let in.

"What did he say?" asked Minerva at once, offering Jennie tea, which the blonde declined, and instead poured her a glass of scotch whiskey which was drained instantly.

"He… he certainly knows how to preach…" mumbled Jennie tiredly as Minerva refilled her glass and poured herself a first glass.

"You don't say? He said… oh I can barely bear to repeat it… he said that some things in this world needs to… needs to be gained by sacrifices of youth to… to gain wisdom and victory… he has it all planned out! Of course he didnät say so, but I could see it in his eyes; he has planned to let Harry grow up to early, he has planned to let him face dangers in order to… I don't know… do something… I would maul him if I could!" rambled Jennie and drained the remaining liquid in her glass and took a cookie from the plate Minerva offered her.

"I love how you spoil me, by the way", Jennie told the older woman and Minerva laughed.

"What are friends for? Now, we cannot let him threat the boy as a piece of meat, so we must do something…"

"You don't say?" drawled Jennie amused and helped herself to another cookie. "Gosh these are delicious!"

Minerva smiled as she too munched on a cookie, and they sat in silence for a while before the witch spoke up.

"We need to find a solution… talking has no effect on Albus when he has set up his mind; if he thinks he does something for the greater good then he'll see it through… a side effect from, well, things, he went through in his youth but even so I think he is wrong… oh well, I suggest we think this through and keep in touch when we come up with something", said Minerva thoughtfully and Jennie nodded slowly and stole another cookie.

"Yes, I like the sound of that. Really, what are these cookies made off?!"

"Harry, I need you to promise that you will stop investigating; I can tell you are, y'know. I get that you want to find out what's going on, but it's not your job, you're a kid and a student, so your job is to study and hang with your friends, okay? So, please, can you promise me and really mean it?"

The thin built boy looked at her with large green eyes, obviously taken by her little speech.

"Why am I so important to you?" asked Harry in a low whisper.

"Why… oh darling!"

And she pulled him close and held him and mumbled how much she loved him, and scolded him mildly for being silly and not seeing it, and in the end, Harry seemed utterly convinced, and he promised her not to go and look for trouble or try to find out more about the possible snake he heard in the walls; as he promised, Jennie saw a swirl of magic, small emerald glittering dots, bursting from Harry and then evaporating in the air.
