The FINAL Final Showdown
White. White fog. How?! HOW? He'd won, this was unacceptable!
"What's... happenng!"
A girl in could be heard clapping. "This is a golly good show. But it's starting to bore me. Also, it seems Gensokyo's air has begun to invade your bloodstream. As you've noticed, magic and elements are more powerful here. I am the most powerful being in Gensokyo, Yukari Yakumo. I opened the portals, I broke Nascour out, I dragged you here to stand and fight for my amusement. I am the mastermind behind all of these events. Now show me your hatred, your anger! Michael! Wes! If you wish to return home, you must defeat me!

Phantasm Border Girl: Yukari Yakumo
"This will be all or nothing! A 2 on 2 for the ages. Your Espeon. Michael's Umbreon. Against my Shikigami! Go, ERan, and EChen!"
Wes turned to Michael .Suddenly, neither needed to speak. They felt in sync.
EChen launched itself forward to use Poison Claw, but received a nasty Confuse Ray from Umbreon.
Yukari pulled out a Full Restore from a gap, grinning. "I will NEVER run out of these. Hope you can take them both out in one turn!"
ERan then laid into Umbreon with Mystic Fire.
"Grrr!"
"OK, let's focus here. I've got a crunch which we can try to nab EChen with, and then you go for Psychic."
Michael tried to describe the plan to Wes... but Wes was already attacking.
"It's every man for himself here!" He justified, attacking ERan with Psychic.
"Umbreon! Confuse Ray!" Michael desperately shouted, but EChen and ERan demolished their Pokemon.
"Now what!?" Michael sank to his knees, crying.
Yukari chuckled. "I learned something interesting... VERY interesting. I'm going to send you back home to before your world was interfered with..."
A white fog covered them...
Michael reappeared in his world, carrying his Pokemon, in front of May. "Alright! Let's do this!" She shouted happily. Michael smiled, all was as it should be. ...Or was it?
Wes, however, found himself in a different place altogether.
The fog cleared, and so did his head. His clothes had changed. The blue cloak and shining goggles were back. Upon his wrist sat the Snag Machine. He sat upon the throne of Citadark Island, as if Master Verich had never existed. Eldes stood nearby, and Michael had come to topple him. As bizarre as it seemed, that he was head of Cipher seemed... right. As if his other life had been a lie. This had been his destiny from the start!
He let out a maniacal laugh as Michael came to him. "Yes, I did. I was a manipulative bastard. I played the people for fools and accomplished my ultimate goal! If you think you can stop me, try it! Ahahahahaha!"

Some of you may be wondering why Wes is now the villain at the end of this story. Yukari's wordplay set it up. "Before your universe was interfered with." In development for XD: Gale of Darkness, Wes, the hero of the first game, was originally intended to be the head of Cipher. They changed this later, but it counts as executive meddling. Yukari sent Wes to the universe of his original role... the final boss of the game. As for Michael, he's exactly where he was at the beginning of Chapter 1. Things have come full circle.
One last thing: Did you notice the gimmicks I started adding to the battles? This was done for a reason... writing Pokemon battles, I discovered, is INCREDIBLY BORING! GEEZ! There's only so much you can write! That's why certain chapters got pushed back beyond all belief and why these last two battles got shortened. It's incredibly hard to find motivation for the turn based system...
