*Gross sobbing* Guys this is the last chapter! i will miss writing this story so much as I've grown attached to it.

Footsteps pounded down the loud hallways and echoed. One listening would instantly be aware of the energy filling the air even before seeing the tall man sprint down the halls with a bright smile framed by adorable dimples.

A mane of brown was swept behind him like a cape and flower petals flew from his arms filling the halls with color and the smell of chocolate from the box clutched in his strong arms.

The feeling of everything being right in the world filling him with energy, the man carrying the gifts sped down the halls. He apologized to the multiple people he almost took out yelling a quick, "Sorry!', but never stopping. He'd chased Gabriel Novak for years and even after he'd caught up Sam still raced to the small agent.

Dean had alway teased him about being a clumsy. Gabriel had joked about a moose in a china shop being worse than a rhino.

Sam couldn't care less though, He didn't stop smiling when a guy yelled at him or when a little girl glared with what Sam was sure had to be the intent of murder. He'd be sure to tell Gabe about that one. She'd make a good agent.

Maybe that's what Gabe was like as a child? Sam beamed at the image of his agent as a toddler wielding a lollipop sword and fire crackers at the ready in the other hand. Sam laughed out loud and thought, Seems about right.

He smiled when he reached the door he wanted and jumped when it door opened before he could knock. "How did you manage to sneak through any headquarters like that Samzilla?" Sam laughed lightly. "I have no idea."

The familiar mischief swimming in a lake of melted gold and soft brown made Sam's heartbeat speed up. Gabriel had his arms crossed in seeming disappointment but the genuine smile on his face let Sam know it was only an act.

There was barely a mark felt on the agents face but the faded bruises still made Sam's heart ache. He reached out and gently stroked a barely there blue mark on Gabriel's cheek. Gabriel sighed and placed his own hand over Sam's, silently reminding the man that he was really there. Really warm and breath and alive.

At that moment, Sam's mind caught up with his emotions and reminded him that Gabe was safe and recovering. He looked health and was standing. Sam would never get tired of seeing his agent like this.

He moved his hand to rest on Gabriel's shoulder and watched the eyes he loved so much widened at the chocolate. Alive, alert, and happy. How could Sam ever ask for more?

"Sam you are a genius. I haven't had chocolate in weeks you beautiful empathic moose!" Gabriel grabbed the chocolate and pecked Sam on the cheek. If Sam found it adorable how Gabe bounced slightly on his tiptoes to reach, that was his own business.

Gabriel ran over to the bed and flopped down on it. Sam winced and almost told his agent to be careful. Gabriel had been in the hospital for four weeks and Sam was sure he was going stir crazy. The many escapes from the hospital bed and wheel chair races ending only when Sam held Gabriel close and begged him to just recover proved that, but it had paid off.

Sam found himself thankful for every small miracle. He noticed when Gabriel's skin color started to differ from the white bedsheets and when his agent started to laugh again without wincing. Now Gabriel was coming home. There was barely a trace of his ordeal.

The gunshot scar would never fade but other than that Gabriel wasn't badly scarred. If they weren't in a hospital Sam could almost imagine Lucifer had never taken his agent.

They were leaving the hospital today.

Gabe ate a few chocolates and made noises that had Sam's face turning a bright shade of red similar to Gabe's cherry lollipops. The agent smirked and walked over to Sam. Warm fingers wrapped themselves around Sam's wrist. "You even brought flowers. I'm touched Sam." Sarcasm with hidden truth had always been part of their communication.

Sam would never get tired of seeing Gabriel being strong enough to walk. Miracles seemed to be everywhere in his life now.

Gabriel squeezed Sam's hand and cheerfully asked, "Ready to go or do I need to drag you out because I am leaving now and there is no way I'm leaving without my nurse." Sam rolled his eyes. Sure he hadn't left the agent's bedside this whole time, but he wasn't a nurse! "Yes. Let's go right now." Hospitals gave Sam the creeps.

After a small debate with many nurses and many sighs from Sam, the small agent had a victorious grin splitting his face. Vetoing the wheelchair hadn't been a maybe for Gabriel Novak. If he could fight with a bullet wound, he could walk a few yards. Thank you very much!

Gabriel and Sam walked out of the hospital hand in hand until they had to separate to get in the car. Sam put the chocolate and flowers in the car and took a moment to reassure himself once again that Gabriel was really there.

Gabriel indulged Sam. He let his communicator hold both his wrist to feel his pulse. He didn't tease Sam for holding his wrist so gently as if he believed Gabe would disappear like smoke if he squeezed too hard. Gabriel had begun to wonder which of them would have the hardest road to recovery.

Gabriel froze when they walked to his room. Sam stopped as well and asked, "You okay?" He was ready to rush back to the hospital. Gabriel nodded slowly and said, "I never thought I would come home again. Thank you Sam."

Sam nodded and swallowed the tight feeling in his throat. There were times when he feared returning to this room alone.

The distance between him and his agent was almost mocking and Sam had spent to much time fearing death to be afraid of anything in life. At least, as long as Gabriel was breathing because it was the agent's death Sam had feared, still feared.

He picked up his agent and grinned when Gabe immediately wrapped his strong legs -legs that had propelled him through burning buildings and kicked hard enough to bring men bigger than Sam down in a single blow- gently around Sam's waist.

They stared at each other at eye level before Gabe leaned forward and captured Sam's mouth. Sam felt his fear being viciously pushed away by a flood of passion as he held Gabe close and his eyes drifted shut. He could feel Gabe's heart racing as it pressed against he chest. He could feel the soft tickles of breath from his agent's noise.

Miracles were all around Sam Winchester and he would keep it that way.

Gabriel had always seemed larger than life to Sam Winchester. What Sam didn't understand was that Gabriel had always felt the same way about him. Sam knew that no one would ever take his agent again.

Gabriel wouldn't let it happen and Sam would kill anyone he thought had a shot at actually hurting the little ball of sass, sugar, genius, and perfection cradled in his arms.

This may have had something to do with Azazel's and Alastair's deaths a few days latter...

But that's nothing anyone can prove.
