31 December 22 1993
Jennie stood in the kitchen, surrounded by pots and jars with different Christmas candy-in-making; gingerbread, polka dots, chocolate fudge and butterscotch.
"Oh it smells great! I think I have to steal a taste sample!"
She didnät manage to slap Sirius's hand away from the paste as he grinning dipped his finger in it and licked it off, with a twisted smirk. Jennie rolled her eyes.
"Stop it! And out of my kitchen mister! Go and entertain harry or something, but out, shoo!" she muttered only a little annoyed, and waved a hand at him.
"Did you just shoo me, woman? We can't have that, can we?"
"What are you playing at?"
"I'm not playing darling…"
She felt his arms around her and then soft lips nibbled at her neck before trailing up to her ear.
"I really love you in that skirt… don't change out of it, lovely…"
She blinked and stopped stirring; it was suddenly hard to focus.
"Ah… okay…" she mumbled, totally put out. Sirius chuckled in her and kissed her throat.
"I'll leave you to make more sweets for me and Harry to eat. Later babe!"
His last words made her snort with laughter.
"Just go away! You're distracting!"
"Only doing my job."
Smiling, Jennie went back to humming Christmas songs and making candy.

He wasn't stupid. He was actually pretty smart, just a little lazy every now and then, but he wasn't stupid. Harry observed his newly found Godfather and the woman whom he had come to see as a mother as they talking and teased each other while putting the finishing Christmas touches around the house.
"… stop that, I'm not a teddy bear!"
"But you're so cute!"
"Put me down, Sirius, I'm serious!"
"Really? I thought I was."
"Oh very clever, Mr Black, very clever! Now put me down!"
It was amusing to see actually; at first he'd thought he'd be totally embarrassed by their flirting and even feel left out, but Harry had quickly found that Jennie and Sirius always included him as much as they could in everything.
"Harry! Give me a hand here and drag the dog outside, will you?" pleaded Jennie now as she hang over Sirius´s shoulder with her hair tousled and cheeks flushed from laughing.
"Erhm… no."
"What?! I give you food and sweets and you don't help me?! That's low, really low!" she shrieked in fake annoyance as Sirius spun around and walked over to the couch and promptly dropped Jennie beside him; Harry grinned at his Godfather and the dark haired man chuckled and winked at him before stealing some candy from the bowl on the table.
"Well, that was fun! So little deer, what do say about inviting some friends here, have Christmas dinner together? Or do you want to be alone with us?"
"Excuse me?! This is my house, darling dog!"
"Oh hush lovely, I'm doing parenting over here."
"You're doing parenting? What have I been doing over the years then?" snorted Jennie and shoved Sirius down on the floor with s sweet smile.
"Hey, that's playing dirty!" complained the Animagus with a grin as he stood up and took a seat on the couch once more. Jennie giggled and Harry grinned at her.
"If it's okay, I think I'd like to have Ron and Hermione here, if they can make it."
He looked carefully at Jennie and she beamed at him.
"Of course it is! Your friends are always welcome in my house", she said and gave Sirius a pointed look which made the wizard roll his eyes.
"Harry, a little advice; never disagree with a lady."
"But… that makes no sense! You two disagree!"
"Ah yes, but Jennie here is a special lady", his Godfather said and then he was wacked over the head.
"Special my ass! Think that over again Sirius, you sound creepy! Jeez… special lady… hah! Lucky for you I like you", snorted the blonde woman and shook her head.
"So, Jennie, can I invite the over?" asked Harry once more just to be sure and Jennie nodded.
"Go right ahead and write them!"
Harry left the living room and went upstairs to the room where Hedwig and Sunshine resided; the owl perked up as he entered and he had to spend five minutes petting them and giving them treats before they calmed down.
"I'll write two letters and you can take one each", he promised them as he sat down by the little desk and grabbed pen and paper and quickly wrote to short but polite invitations.
"Hedwig, you take this to Hermione, and you Sunshine can take this to Ron, okay?"
Both birds squeaked and raised a leg each, and after tying the letters secure Harry watch how the birds jumped to the window and took flight.
As he walked down the stairs to rejoin the, well, Harry still didn't know what to call Jennie and Sirius, so he settled for grownups, in the living room he heard muffled voices, so he stopped in the hall and listened, even to he was sure it wasn't nice, but he was curious and didnät want to barge in on them in case they were talking about something serious; he'd just listen really quick and the decide what to do.
"… really can't… upstairs… back soon…"
"Don't be silly… real quick… so sweet…"
Harry blushed, realizing they weren't simply talking. Okay so he wasn't really sure what they were doing, but he didn't want to find out either, so he went back upstairs and decided to work on the paper professor McGonagall had given them over the Holiday.

"Harry? Wake up sweetie… dinner."
A soft voice called him back from half sleep and he blinked up at Jennie who looked down at him with a little worried expression.
"Are you alright?" she asked and sat down beside him on the bed.
"Yes… the homework was curious…"
"Ask Sirius to help, I bet you he knows more than I do", smiled Jennie and harry nodded; he knew the blonde woman had read everything she could find on magic and that she had her own copies of his schoolbooks so that she would be able to help him if need be, but he also understood that there where things she couldn't help with.
"I'll ask him… did you say it's dinner time?"
"Yupp. Hey why didn't you tell us you had homework? You just disappeared on us…"
"Well, I figured you were busy", said Harry honestly and saw Jennie flush a little.
"Ah… well… shit… let's eat", rambled the blonde woman and ushered him downstairs; Harry grinned a little since it was quite amusing to watch Jennie ramble.
"Hey kid! Where did you go off to?"
"Hi Sirius. Is that chicken? I tried to study…"
"Tried being the key word, eh kid? Need help?"
"Yes please."
"Well, let's eat and then we can take a look, I need to freshen up a the learning anyway", smiled his Godfather and offered him a plate with food.
####
Jennie yawned and looked around the room once more; it seemed fit for a party, fit for having lots of fun in. She declared that she was done for the day.
"Hi lovely, why are you still standing?"
She grinned at the black haired wizard and let him hug her.
"Did you manage to help Harry?"
"Yeah, a bit at least, but I think he'll figure the rest out for himself. He's a smart kid, and I can tell you've though him how to think in different angles."
"I've tried."
"Succeeded, I'd say. Now, com to bed darling, you're tired"; he mumbled and kissed her ear.
"And you aren't?"
"I'm sleepwalking…" he grinned as he led her upstairs.
"I was thinking… your parents' house, will you go back there? It's yours after all", Jennie commented as she slipped out of her skirt and in beneath the covers.
"I'll have to, just to claim it… but I don't want to live there. Bloody creepy place."
"Well, perhaps once you've claimed it you can have it as a town house and just visit when you really have to… and we can buy some cute country side house…"
####
Sirius gave Jennie a fond look as she moved closer to him, clearly half asleep.
"A country side house, eh? Darling, are you talking about some cute dream you're having?"
She smiled sleepily and kissed his shoulder.
"No silly… I'm stating facts: if things progress nicely, we should move. Now goodnight… please hold me."
He did as she asked; pulled her closer so that she was half laying in top off him, let his hand travel up and down her back and heard her soft breathing in his ear. He closed his eyes and slept.
