Hiya guys!
Here comes yet another chapter… and things take a darker turn, you have been warned, hehe. Also, I'm so sorry about the delay; I've been working way too much, and then I had trouble with getting the end of this chapter the way I wanted it, but now I declare myself done, so here you go!
Enjoy reading, love ya!
34 August 21/22 1994
Jennie woke unusually late on the chilly Sunday morning; blinking and looking at the alarm clock she was more than surprised to see that it was well past noon. She also noticed that there was a little note on Sirius's pillow. Yawning, she picked it up and read it.
Morning sleeping beauty. You looked so peaceful, and I know it sounds cheesy but I didn't want to wake you; figured you could use a little more sleep. I'll probably be out with Harry when you wake up; he wanted to go and look at Quidditch stuff and since know you're not overly fond of that I took care of it. Also, Arthur has managed to get some tickets for the Quidditch World Cup; and since I have a few of my own we now have too many… go figure. So anyway darling, decide if you want to come along or not.
See you later.
Love Sirius
Ps: I like it when you murmur my name in sleep.
She giggled at the post scriptum and yawned again. Rolling onto her beck and sitting up, Jennie pondered over the World Cup… she really had no interest in the sport whatsoever, but she had a nagging feeling about letting Harry off on his own, even if he was with other adults who could do magic, which she couldn't.
"Gosh I'm going all mother-hen on the kid", she mumbled as she ¨rose from the bed and grimaced as her bare feet came in contact with the cool floor.
"Hello."
"Fuck!" she snarled and whirled around and threw a pillow at the shadow in the doorway.
"Ouch! What the hell woman?!"
She glared at her – well whatever Sirius was – and snorted.
"Don't sneak up on me! I'm too hot to die yet."
"That I can't disagree on", he smirked and picked up her pillow and flung it back on the bed before moving swiftly forward and hugging her flush to his body.
"You look good enough to eat", he murmured in her aer and she got a little kiss.
"Thank you", she beamed and played with his and, and the wizard grinned and kissed her nose.
"I've made lunch", he told her and handed her the skirt she'd worn the day before,
"Heh, liked that a lot did you?" Jennie teased as she dressed in said skirt and donned a black strapless top to go along with it.
"You know I did", was the reply she got.
####
"SO, what, you're not going to come and watch?" Harry asked confused as he ate some apple pie that had been left over from the day before.
"No… I really don't like the sport Harry so it's better if someone else gets my ticket", replied his blonde guardian with a little shrug.
"But… I thought we'd go together… like a family", he confessed embarrassed and his godfather grinned at him.
"Well, I'd say we are a family, but families can do stuff on their own sometimes. We'll go with the Weasley clan and Hermione and take Remus with us, that'll be cool too."
"Well, okay then."
####
"D'you think he got mad?"
Sirius peeked up from the book he was reading and found Jennie staring at him, obviously wantig an answer.
"What are you talking about, darling?"
"I'm talking about harry! Do you think he got mad because I won't be coming with you tomorrow?" she said slowly and looked put out.
Sirius put the book away and turned towards her and shook his head.
"You're being very silly, love. Of course he's not mad; he was merely disappointed, but I think he git your point. So no, no one's mad here."
He pulled her close and kissed before she could reply.
"Except me maybe; I reckon I'm mad for you."
She giggled then, and her hands crawled onto his back and her nails pierced his skin a little as she kissed back with heat.
####
"Have a fun day boys! An behave! An yes, Sirius, you too!"
Harry grinned as Jennie hugged him goodbye in the very early morning; he and Sirius where going to join the Weasley family and Hermione by the camp and then they'd watch the game.
"Bye Jennie, see you tomorrow!"
"Have fun kid, and keep an eye on the bid baby for me, will you?" she whispered in his ear and Harry grinned and nodded and then bent down to pet Blacky bye-bye and averted his eyes when he noticed his godfather looking at Jennie in the way he had begun to understand meant that his godfather really wanted to be alone with the blond woman.
"Now as I said, behave and don't you dare looking at pretty witches."
Harry couched to hide his laughter.
"Why would I do that? You're lovely. Take care."
"I will. See you tomorrow."
Harry heard them kiss, and then Sirius put a hand on his arm and he felt the air being pressed from his lungs as he was turned inside and out.
####
Jennie yawned and once more checked that every door and window was closed; there had been some strange robbery in the area lately and she decided that it was better to be overly paranoid than being robbed and possibly harmed.
As she crawled back upstairs into bed, she hoped that her boys had a great time watching players chase balls in the air.
####
The game had rocked, really totally rocked! Harry grinned up at his godfather who smirked back at and swept long black hair away from grey eyes.
"Not bad, eh, kid?"
"That was awesome!" Harry beamed at the older wizard, and Sirius let out a happy laugh and ruffled his hair.
"I know! Good thing Jennie didnät tag long, she would have been bored."
"Hey, aren't you supposed to be totally on her side?" Harry teased his godfather as they made their way back to the tent in which they would stay over the night.
"In which book have you wound that statement?" chuckled Sirius and winked at him.
"I'll tell her you said that!"
"You do that, kid; I think I can handle a feisty blonde."
"I so don't want to know what you mean by that!" groaned Harry and Sirius laughed so hard he cried.
"I didn't… oh man… hehe what… did you think… I meant, eh?" he managed so say between fits of laughter, and Harry blushed and coughed and Sirius seemed to take pity on him 'cause he ruffled his hair again.
"Hey, you know you can always yell at us if you think we're embarrassing?"
"That's not it… I just… well I don't know… I mean I get that you two… do tuff, 'cause you're adults and so… but yeah…" he trailed off and Sirius snorted and chuckled once more.
"Let's drop this and go and get some food, eh?"
####
Something was wrong, he just knew it. Sirius growled and bared his teeth at the shadows; he had been outside the tent as Padfoot for at least three hours, ever since he had started to feel flustered, and yet nothing had happened. It was annoying and unsettling.
He sniffed the air; remnants of fires and food, and lots of human smells hit him, along with the familiar buzz that was magic, but nothing there was unsettling; it was more like a feeling deep inside, a feeling that he couldn't and wouldn't ignore.
####
Jennie paced around; from her bedroom down to the hall, into the kitchen and the living room and back up again, over and over. She had devoured three cups of chocolate, sent a letter to Minerva and been for a quick night visit at Arabella's, and yet nothing had helped to ease the feeling hat something, something not very nice, was marching up…
####
Harry awoke to the sound of chaos; that was the only word he could come up with to describe the noise that was everywhere.
"Arthur kids, c'mon!"
And just like that, Sirius was there and grabbed him by the arm, put something hard in his hand and yelled at the other to grab on.
"Harry, tell Jennie to not let anyone in, no one! Stay inside. See you later kid."
And then the world was pushed away and they Harry was falling, together with Hermione, Ron and Ginny, Fred, George and Hermione's parents.
He landed on a floor.
"Harry? Oh my god, what… Ginny, are you okay? Hermione? Twins? Ron? Jane, Fredrick, what happened? Where are Sirius and Arthur and the other boys?"
Harry felt Jennie pull him up from the floor, and he blinked once more to clear his vision.
"I don't know… something happened, I woke up and there was chaos. Sirius told me to tell you not to let anyone in, no one at all; he'll come back later."
And Harry watched as Jennie went completely stiff; her eyes glazed over and her jaw slacked a little and then she let out a strangled noise and came back to life.
"Oh my… I have to send another letter. Harry, be a darling and make chocolate and tea for everyone, I'll just be a minute."
Harry watched as she sprinted out of the living room, heard her footsteps echo in the hall and then again on the stairs as she went to the top floor, and then a door opened and closed.
"What's wrong with her?" asked Ginny confused.
"No idea… I've never seen her that way before… well, who want tea and who wants chocolate?"
####
They we so fucking many. He grunted and fired another spell towards a masked idiot who dried to maul Arthur; the ginger head sent him a brief nod before going on with his own hexing.
Sirius snarled and tackled another masked man; they fell onto the ground and wrestled, the man managed to punch his eye and Sirius cursed and stunned him. The old tactics where still fresh inside his mind; never kill if you can disarm, take as many alive as possibly, information can be gathered, if you need to take a life, do it swiftly and as painless as possible, you are not like them.
And so he swished and flicked and stunned and made his way through the masked crowd, earning some wounds along the way but not really caring; it felt good to move, to finally knowing that his feeling of unease was right; something had happened.
####
Jennie emptied her cup of way too sweet tea and grimaced.
"A spoonful of sugar my ass", she muttered annoyed and Jane Granger smiled at her.
"Honey, I'm sure they are fine."
Jennie bit back a snort.
"Of course they are fine! I just don't like to be told what to do, my man is so sleeping on the couch!"
"Nah, darling, that couch is way too comfy; if you want to make things hard, make me sleep on the floor."
She whirled up and around and slapped him out of accident when she raised her arms to hug him.
"Sorry! You are so stupid! Don't tell me what to do! Jesus!"
"Erhm, think my name is Sirius, love."
"Oh shut up!" she muttered and kissed him, vaguely away of Gnu and Hermione giggling and the boys making silly noises. Jennie pulled back and suspected the wizard.
"You are bleeding, why are you bleeding?"
"Well, usually when one bleeds it's because one is wounded", joked Sirius lamely and she snorted and pushed him down on the chair.
"What happened? Do you need a drink? Shall I send another owl to Minerva or Albus?"
"I wouldn't say no to your chocolate. And no; I sent my patronus over, and Arthur is there and giving a report. Ginger kids, you dad asked me to give you a Portkey home; Jane and Fredrick, I will give you one as well."
Jennie squinted at him, and Sirius met her eyes briefly and his right eyes twitched. She twirled around to her guests.
"Well, this was very nice, but let's call it a night, shall we?"
Half an hour later she was curled up on the couch with a sleeping Harry on her left side and I tired Sirius on her right.
"Is he really asleep?" mumbled Sirius and Jennie snorted.
"I don't think a cannon ball would wake him now… can you take him or shall I wake him?"
"No, I'm good… bed in five darling."
She went upstairs, undressed and crept under the covers. Five minutes later she had company.
"So… what really happened?" she asked and pulled him close to her; Sirius buried his face against her neck with a sigh and wriggled an arm half way around her.
"War… or well, more like fighting, but there will be a war… He is back, Jennie, that fucking Voldemort is back."
