"You're joking..." said the senior as she looked at the younger girl with a dumbfound expression as well.

"Sadly, I wish I was." sighed the pink haired girl.

The two students were in the senior's car on their way to Bonnibel's house, she figured today would be that one day she needed Marceline to figure out their next step. The whole day Luella wouldn't stop talking about how she was planning to 'one up' the other person and 'like totally be the person that Marceline needs in the end', it was almost upsetting considering she was saying all of that in front of the very person she felt was a rival to her.

"Dammit.." the dark haired girl gave a deep sigh as well before pulling up to the curb in front of her crushes house, "how stupid could she actually be!? I made it very clear how I DIDN'T want to be with her and I jus-"

"Marceline," the junior put her hand upon the older girl's and held the best confident expression she could muster at the moment, "it's okay. Believe me, this doesn't change that I do want to be with you and she's not stupid just... dense."

"As dense as a brick.. I knew I should've been blunt with this."

"But you didn't and you were kind like I asked, which I thank you for."

"Well, I did promise you didn't I?"

"And I'm glad you kept your promise, so you deserve something special."

"Special? Like wha-"

Before Marceline could finish she felt a hand against her cheek pulling her closer only to be followed by a warm pair of lips upon her other cheek, causing a deep blush to spread across her face. She felt her heart thump loudly against her ribcage when Bonnibel pulled back, she pulled her shirt collar up against the bridge of her nose and turned away.

"What's wrong?" questioned the younger girl.

"N-Nothing..."

"Is a certain someone blushing?" giggled the pink haired girl.

"Pfft! Are you kidding!? I don't blush! I'm a grown woman! Grown women don't blush, Bonnibel!"

"Oh, so this doesn't affect you?"

The pink haired girl reached over and pulled down the shirt, she placed her lips gently against the pink skin again.

"Nope! Not in the least bit!" - the older girl's blush became darker.

"Are you sure?" - she kissed the cheek again.

"P-Positive!"

"So I guess a kiss on the lips wouldn't affect you either then."

"Nope not at a- WAIT WHAT" the senior shouted as she looked over to her crush.

"Well, then I guess there's no reason for us to sit here, let's go inside and plan our next step." Bonnibel said as she collected her books and got out of the car.

Marceline quickly grabbed her backpack before closing and locking her car, she then turned the pink haired girl around, "Wait wait wait! Let's not rule anything out!"

"What's to rule out? Grown women don't blush and you aren't affected by my kissing you," the shorter girl shrugged with a playful smile, "so what's the point?"

"Well.. I mean... ya know you always like to test theories..! So.. why not test to see if kissing me would actually make me blush!?"

"Hmm... Tempting, but no." giggled the junior as she walked towards her front door.

"You're just cruel..."

Bonnibel gasped jokingly before speaking in a southern accent, "Well I never! Would a young lady such as myself seem cruel?"

"Yes." Marceline walked up beside her crush with her hands in her pockets.

"Well I'll have you know that I'm the kindest person you'll ever meet in this here country, why my daddy even told me I was the sweetest little baby he had ever met!" Bonnibel said still with the accent in her tone as they walked into her house.

"Keep talking like that and I may just have to do something about it." warned the taller girl.

"Oh? Like what?"

Suddenly, the junior felt her back against the front door as she gazed to hazel eyes, her heart thumped loudly as she felt lips against her ear.

"I could test the theory myself, I'm not afraid to experiment."

"Marceline.."

Bonnibel could feel lips trailing light kisses from her ear to her cheek and finally mere centimeters from her lips, she could see the older girl's smirk becoming wider as a warm hand was placed upon her cheek. Although, as fate would have it, Bonnibel's phone rang the moment their lips grazed one another. The shorter girl jumped and scrambled to find her cell phone while Marceline stood in defeat, she honestly could've cried from being so close to what she wanted. She softly pounded her head against the wooden door as the smaller girl answered the phone.

"H-Hello?"

"Bonnibel? Why do you sound out of breath?" - It was her older brother on the phone.

"O-Oh! I had to rush over to find my phone, I was on the patio doing homework with my friend!"

"Your..friend? What kind of friend..?" her brother's tone becoming more protective, "What's that banging by the way?"

Blue eyes turned to see the older girl still pounding her head, she placed her hand in between the girl and the door, pushing her crush over towards the den.

"What banging?"

"Wasn't there banging in the house?"

"No? You're hearing things."

"I guess I must be.. But hey listen - Mom, dad, and I are here at the mechanics getting our cars all checked on. Turns out none of us will be able to get Goliad from school on time, think you can call Ms. Raggedy and ask her to bring the squirt home?"

"Well actually.." her eyes drifted towards her the dark haired girl who sat patiently at the couch that was located in front of the kitchen, a smile working it's way onto her lips as she watched the girl curiously looked around.

"Actually...?"

"Actually.. My friend drives, maybe we can go pick her up!"

"C'mon, sis. You know Goliad isn't too big on strangers."

"Yes, but she's fine with family friends."

"Just how close ARE you and this 'friend'?"

"Close enough."

She could hear her brother sigh in defeat before speaking, "Fine. I'll let mom know you're picking her up, but Bon?"

"Yeah?"

"No funny business in front of Goliad, alright? I don't care how close you and this kid are. If he does anything.. I'll punch him in the wiener - got it?"

"But they're not a-"

"Just hurry. I want to meet this friend later. Got it?"

It was her turn to sigh as she rubbed her forehead, "Yeah, I got it."

"Alright. Later."

"Bye."

She hung up her phone and put it in her pants pocket before glancing up at the older girl, she had begun to flip through one of the few magazines her mom decided to leave out on the coffee table when Bonnibel walked in. Her hazel eyes dancing from page to page until she looked up at her crush with a curious expression.

"Everything okay?"

"Well.. that depends..." Bonnibel rubbed the back of her neck.

"What is it?" the senior asked as she put down the magazine.

"On a scale of one to ten.. How okay would you be with doing me a favor?"

"Scale of one to ten? ...Probably a solid fifteen. Why? What do you need?"

"Well.. See the thing is..."

"Don't tell me I have to go defeat seven evil exes or something to date you.. I'm already working on my first condition.. I don't need a third." joked the senior.

"No! Nothing like that! Besides.. you're the first person who may get to date me - But that's besides the point! Listen. I have a younger sister, right?"

"Yeah..?"

"Well.. It seems as if the rest of my family is in a bit of predicament at the moment and my little sister needs a ride home. Would you be willing to give me a ride to pick her up? I mean if you don't want to that's fine too I was jus-"

"Sure."

"Wait. Sure?"

The older girl rose to her feet, "Yeah. Sure. Besides if I'm gonna date you, I gotta meet your family at some point right? May as well start with the youngest Blythe before I meet your folks. Easier way to start out in my opinion."

"Oh, if only that were true..." she mumbled under her breath.

"Huh?"

"Nothing! Let's just go. She gets out soon and I don't want her stuck there."

"Believe me, she won't be stuck."

The two girls stood outside of the elementary school patiently, Bonnibel figured that since Goliad didn't know who Marceline was it'd be better for them both to stand outside and actually wait for the younger girl so they could be properly introduced. As the pink haired girl looked down at her watch for the time she could hear the older girl give a light chuckle.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing it's just.. It's been a while since I've been back here, brings back a lot of memories." said the senior with a smirk as she pushed up her sunglasses.

"You actually went here?"

"Yeah. I've been living here since about fourth grade. Me and Marshall ended up in the same class too, that was a good thing."

"Why?"

"Well.. no one really likes the new kids ya know? Especially identical twins. They'd always pick on Marshal saying 'You look like a girl!' and shit like that, kids being cruel little brats. Although by the time we were in fifth grade no one messed with either of us."

"Oh? Did they finally accept the fact that you weren't new anymore and let it go?"

"No."

"So then what was it?"

The taller girl glanced over to her crush momentarily before crossing her arms over her chest and speaking.

"Well, we used to have this bully here. His name was Donnie. He got a growth spurt early and thought it'd be funny to pick on me and Marshall for - again - being identical twins. He would mess around with both of us, leading on the kids to pick on us and laugh how we dressed a lot alike."

"So, you told your parents about it?"

"No. One day after school we were at the park that I took you to - Donnie and his little 'gang', as he liked to call it at the time, decided it'd be funny to cut my hair to match Marshall's."

"They did what!?"

The older girl shrugged, "What could we do? No adults were around and it was just the two of us. So, two of Donnie's friend's held back Marshall and two of them held me down. Donnie took out a pair of scissors from my back pack and proceeded to cut my hair. Now, mind you my hair was EXTREMELY long back then and well.. Marshall's has been about the same length since that time, but anyways, little by little he kept cutting it off and after he finished he said 'Now you two really match!' and started to laugh. I wasn't upset about my hair being cut, I was honestly mad at the fact of them thinking that they were going to get away with this too and them thinking they were going to hurt me and my brother some more."

"So what did you do...?"

"Well, I did what any kid my age back then would've probably done."

"And that was?"

"I proceeded to beat the shit out of Donnie." Marceline said as if it was old news.

"MARCELINE!"

"What?! This punk cut my hair, hurt me and my brother, and thought he was going to get away with it!? Hell no."

"Just how bad did you hurt this kid!?"

"NOT BAD!... Just enough to bruise two of his ribs..."

"TWO RIBS!?"

"HE HAD IT COMING!"

"Well what happened after that?!"

"Marshall took on three of those kids at once and I took on the last one! Of course Donnie's parents called my mom and dad, but what can adults say when they find out their son cut a girl's hair!?"

"So YOU didn't get into ANY trouble!?"

"I just had to write an apology letter and got suspended for two days. Nothing major."

"THAT'S nothing major?"

"Donnie got a trip to the doctors, grounded for four months, and got suspended for nine days. THAT'S major."

"Well, I'm praying you're at least not like that now!"

"No! I got that all out my system LONG before we met! Besides, I don't fight anymore unless mine, my brother's, fionna's, or my friend's lives are at stake. I'm not gonna risk everything I've worked hard for on someone's ignorance or stupidity."

"So let me ask this question."

"Ask away, m'lady."

"If we dated and some guy was flirting with me in front of you - what would you do?"

"I'd tell him to back off."

"And if he didn't?"

"Bonnie, let me just tell you here and now. My band and I have each other's backs, if anyone was messing with you, flirting with you, or giving you a hard time - we wouldn't hesitate to protect you. I definitely wouldn't."

"I just don't want you to think that I need to be protected all the time, I CAN protect myself."

"And I whole-heartedly believe you. Just think of me as extra protection."

"No. I would think of you as my girlfriend if it comes down to it, I want you to be able to walk away when I say to."

"Depending upon the situation, I will. I'm not a bad listener, Bonnie - I just... I'm a protective person is all."

"I know you are and I'm glad you told me more about yourself. Plus, that shows me I can rely on you when I need someone."

"Of course you can. I'm not going anywhere, I promise."

Suddenly their conversation was cut off as the bell rang, alerting all the younger students that their day was done and they were free to go home. Bonnibel pushed off from the wall and walked forward looking for curly brown hair, suddenly she felt a small body hug against hers. She looked down and was met by big blue eyes that were like hers.

"Bonnie! You came to get me!" said her younger sister excitedly.

"I did!" the older sister hugged back, "How was school?"

"It was good! I got an A in science and I..."

When Goliad's voice trailed off, the older sister took notice her gaze had chance to somewhere else. She glanced over her shoulder and saw the senior standing behind her with a smile on her face, Bonnibel turned to the side and could feel her sibling's grip becoming tighter upon her skirt.

"So this is the famous Goliad?" questioned Marceline with a kinder smirk than normal to the child.

"Yes, say 'Hello', Goliad."

The youngest girl hid more behind her sister before speaking, "H-Hello.."

Bonnibel bent down upon her knee and became face to face with her sister before speaking again.

"Goliad?"

"Yes..?"

"This is my special friend, Marceline Abadeer. She came with me to come pick you up is that okay?"

The smaller girl glanced up at the taller girl timidly. She took note of the older band shirt that read 'Den of Living Nightmares' and 'Lord Of The Dead' upon it with a man's face plastered in the middle of the written words, her faded blue jeans, and her shoes that holes scattered about.

"She's scary, Bonnie.."

"Scary?" questioned the older sister, Goliad nodding slowly as she turned away from the senior.

"Goliad?" came another voice.

The young elementary schooler looked over to the very girl whom she had just studied moments before, she saw the blue jean covered knee touch the ground in front of her and the sunglasses being pulled away to reveal soften hazel eyes. The brunette took a few steps back behind her sister and waited to hear what had to be said.

"Listen.. I know I may look scary, but I promise you I'm not. I'm not all my appearance makes me out to be, I'm really a nice person and I only want to be your friend."

"But none of my friend's dress like that.."

"Well, then I can be a new kind of friend."

"I don't know.."

The older girl turned to her crush who just gave a small shrug before standing and taking her sisters hand.

"C'mon, Goliad. Let's go home."

"Okay, Bonnie."

The pink haired girl gave an apologetic look towards her crush as she stood as well. The three girls walked in silence towards the car, but upon arriving the youngest Blythe pulled her sisters hand back and looked up at her.

"What's wrong?" questioned Bonnibel.

"Sit with me, I don't want to be alone."

"Goliad.. you won't be alone. I'll be right-"

"Please, Bonnie?"

"Bu-"

"Don't worry, Bon. It's okay." said the senior as she pulled down her sunglasses and got into the car.

With a sigh of defeat, the older sister climbed into the back with her younger sister. She was hoping that this would've gone better than what had happened, but Marceline saw this as an opportunity to prove herself to be more than what she was to Goliad - an idea striking into her mind as she started up the car with a small smirk.

A/N: Well, I know this is long over due. To be honest, this story is taking me a lot more time to come up with what will happen next, unlike BATVQ, this one I'm trying to make precise with Bonnibel's attitude and how her relationship with Marceline goes along. I'm sorry this one doesn't TOTALLY wrap around Bubbline action, but at some point this had to happen - I just figured sooner, the better - right? Hopefully the next chapter won't be as difficult to write as this one, I'm really going to try to put some Bubbline action into that one as well as the point of Marceline meeting Bonnibel's family. Again, sorry this one took so long - I'm trying my best guys:/

P.S. - Fun Fact: When Marceline pulls the shirt over her face to cover her blush, I do the exact thing in real life when I'm around people I like. Considering I'm pretty light tanned myself I can get as red as a tomato.
