Chapter 9 - Meeting Some Families

Jack's POV - Next Day - Tuesday - After School

I re-read the 1st folder Kim gave to me.

Names: Everly & Malcolm Jakovlevs
Ages: 28 & 29
Marital Status: Married for 5 years.
Job Status': Everly works as a High School teacher & Malcolm is a lawyer.
Income: $295,000 per year.
Profile: Can not have children due to Everly having been injured when she was 15 and had to have both her ovaries taken out.

I sighed and read the 2nd one,

Names: Joanna & Garrett Munro
Ages: 35 & 34
Marital Status: Married for 10 years.
Job Status': Housewife & Doctor,
Income: $400,000 A Year
Profile: Cannot have kids, and have adopted 9 Kids already,
Adopted Kids:
Clyde Munro - 25 (Adopted at 14, Married with 2 kids)
Echo Munro James - 23 (Adopted at 15, Married with 1 Child)
Percy Munro - 19 (Adopted at 13)
Itali Munro - 15 (Adopted at 6)
Keithie Munro - 11 (Adopted at 3)
Beverly Munro (TWINS) - 8 (Adopted at 1)
Paris Munro (TWINS) - 8 (Adopted at 1
Lux Munro - 5 (Adopted at Birth)
Cruz Munro - 2 (Adopted at Birth)

I read the 3rd one:

Names: Vivian & John Scott
Ages: 40 & 40
Marital Status: Married for 22 years.
Job Status': Owner of Scott Motors
Income:$40,000 per year
Profile: Have 1 child together and after a car accident that caused Vivian being not able to have kids at age 30 adopted twins, looking to adopt another.
Adopted Kids:
Kanye Scott - 16
Leo Scott - 12 (Adopted at 2)
Leona Scott - 12 (Adopted at 2)

And finally I read the last one:

Names: Roxanne Jenkins & Sabrina Smith
Ages: 40 & 37
Marital Status: Married for 3 Months
Job Status': Police Officer & Head Teacher
Income: $30,000 a year.
Profile: Been together for 10 years, Married for 3 months. Roxanne has a son from previous marriage.
Kids:
Brandon Jenkins - 16
Jesus Jenkins - 15(Adopted at 9)
Mariana Jenkins - 15 (Adopted at 9)

I put the folders back into a pile on the table and sighed leaning back.

"Whats up with you?" Mum asked me concerned.

"Just looking over some adoption files, you know of families to adopt the baby." I said and she nodded.

"Well?" She asked,

"They all seem pretty good, 3 of the families already have kids, most of whom are adopted." I said.

"Then why do you seem so upset?" She asked me.

"Because I wont get to see my child." I stated and she nodded

"Jack, you do know that even though Kim's the mother, you have rights too, if you dont want to give the baby up for adoption, you can raise the baby yourself." Gabriella told me.

"I know, its just, I dont want to raise a baby who doesnt have a mother, and besides I'm only 14, 15 next month but I cant give this baby a life." I said and she nodded.

Kim's POV

I was watching tv when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." I yelled and walked over and opened the door to find Jack there stood holding the folders. "Hey." I said and he smiled.

"Hi, so I brought over the folders as you can see, and I looked through them and I honestly like all 4 of them, the one concern I have though is what they would name the baby, that may sound weird, but I dont want the baby to have a weird name like California or New York or like that Kardashian baby North." He said and I chuckled whilst nodding.

"I get it, I'm gonna up the adoption agency and go see all 4 families and I get to visit there houses to see there home enviement and meet the kids." I said and he nodded, "I'll keep you updated on which family I've picked." I stated.

"Okay thanks, I'll um, I'll see you later." He said and walked away as I shut the door.

Alicia's POV

"Was that Jack?" I asked Kim entering from the kitchen and she nodded.

"Yeah, I'm gonna ring the adoption agency now and arrange to meet the families, will you come with me?" She asked and I nodded.

Kim's POV - Next Day - Wednesday - 9am

"Kim, you ready?" Alicia asked me and I nodded as we got into her car an she drove up to the adoption agency where we will be meeting the 4 couples, there also gonna tell me about there kids that they have already. Once we arrived we walked in and up to the reception.

"Hi, I'm Kimberly Crawford here to meet 4 families who are looking to adopt." I said to the women who's name tag said Jane and she nodded and wrote something on the computer,

"Okay, I'll ring your social worker now." She said and the baby's social worker Lina Del Rosa came in a few minutes later and smiled at me.

"Hi Kim, nice to see you again and you are?" She asked Alicia.

"I'm Alicia, her dad's girlfriend." She explained and Lina nodded.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lina Del Rosa." She said smiling then looked at me, "Right follow me." She said and we started walking, "The first couple your meeting are the Jakovlevs, who will be here shortly, you will see them for about half hour, then you will meet the Munro's family, then you can have a short break, then at 1 you will meet the Scott family, then at 2, the Jenkins family." She explained as we walked into a room with a table and some chairs, "Have a seat." She said and me & Alicia sat down on one of the double seaters facing the door and she sat on a one seater that was inbetween the 2 double seats. After about 5 minutes of talking someone knocked on the door and Jane walked in.

"Lina, Everly & Malcolm are here." She said and a young couple walked in, Everly had golden blonde hair & green piercing eyes and a happy smile, Malcolm had brown hair & brown eyes and also a happy smile.

"Thanks Jane." Lina said and she walked out and we stood up, "Everly, Malcolm this is Kim Crawford and her father's girlfriend Alicia. Kim, Alicia, this is Everly & Malcolm Jakovlevs." She explained and we smiled and shook each other hands.

"Nice to meet you." Everly said and I smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." I said and we all sat.

"Okay, so I was just saying to Kim about how this is gonna go, Kim & Alicia will ask you some questions and you will answer honestly, okay," Lina said smiling. "Kim go ahead." She said smiling.

"Um, well, to be honest I really don't know what to say, I never quiet thought I would be in a persision like this, but truthfully I'm just looking for someone who will look after this baby, care for it, love it and to be parents to it." I said and they nodded.

"We understand, and don't worry we're probably just as nervous as you are." Everly said chuckling and I smiled then looked at Alicia for help and she nodded.

"So um, your file says that you Everly are a high school teacher, and that you Malcolm are a Lawyer." She said and they nodded, "I think what Kim is wondering about is when your both worker at school and on a case or something, where will the baby be?" She asked.

"Well off course, I would get some maternity to leave for 4 months, but after that we have some family who will help us, and we plan on hiring a nanny of some sort to help our with him or her," Everly said and we nodded.

"And I was wondering about your house conditions, like, will it be baby proof and stuff." I said.

"Absolutely, we already have it baby proofed to sort of get used to how to open the draws and stuff." Malcolm explained.

"Okay, and I brought this just incase you might want to see it." I said taking out a copy of the sonogram photo and slip it across the table to them and they smiled whilst looking at it.

"Wow." Everly said smiling and I smiled.

"If you don't mind us asking, Lina has told us that the father is in the picture, so we were wondering if he's gonna sign he rights away?" Malcolm asked me carefully.

"Yeah, the father Jack, is completely okay with my decision to put the baby up for adoption, and he will sign his rights away no problem." I said and he nodded.

"Another thing Kim was actually wondering about was possible names for the baby?" Alicia asked them.

"Oh yes, well since we've been married we've had names picked out and for a girl we want Ariel Jakovlevs, and since we said the middle name would be the birth mothers name, it would be Ariel Kimberly Jakovlevs, and if its a boy we want Nicholas Daniel Jakovlevs." Everly explained and I nodded.
