Right, so here's chapter 47, only a few more chapters to go now, hiw do you like it so far?
47 February 2 1998
Saturday dawned. Jennie, who almost felt as good as new expect for small flashback during night and naptime, decided to stop lying in bed and so she dressed and headed to the kitchen and started making a royal breakfast.
She actually hummed as she made waffles, scrambled egg, bacon and sausages. She wondered how Harry would feel before and after the Horcrux left him; would he feel pain, relief, anger, sadness, nothing? She hoped it would be as quick and painless as possible.
####
Sirius paced the hallway in waiting for Severus's arrival. He repeatedly kept telling himself that things would go well this time as well, but man he was nervous. It was, after all, Harry who would be put in the crossfire should anything go wrong.
He stopped and peered out the little window onto the sunny street. Still no Severus. He began pacing again.
####
Harry felt calm and completely at peace with the events to come. He had total faith in Severus – which was funny consider their history – and also trusted Sirius and Jennie to be the first to help if something should go wrong, which he knew would not happen.
He dressed simply in jeans and a green t-shirt and headed downstairs. His godfather was pacing in front of the door, and Harry grinned and tapped the man's shoulder, causing him to jump and the grin sheepishly.
"Morning kid. You okay?"
"Morning. Yeah, but you obviously aren't", Harry pointed out and proceeded to drag the long haired man down to the kitchen, where he saw Jennie glaring at some sausages.
"Hi Jennie. What have the poor sausages done to you?"
"Huh? Oh god morning sweetie. Hi Sirius. You guys hungry?"
"Yeah, everything smells great!" beamed Harry and occupied a chair and served himself some goodies.
####
Jennie blinked. And blinked again. And wrung her hands in her lap. Severus had arrived ten minutes ago, and now they were all seated in the Room. All being Harry, Sirius, Remus, Severus, Albus and herself.
"Whenever you are ready Harry", said Albus solemnly and held up a small bottle to the teenager.
Jennie hummed nervously and Sirius grabbed her hand and offered her a smile.
"Okay, I'm drinking", Harry told them and downed the small vial.
####
It felt like drinking fire; it tore at his very core and yet he could not scream, only rock back and forth until suddenly he was being held in soft arms.
"… alright… doing great… little more…"
Harry vaguely heard Jennie talking to him through the darkness and felt grateful. Then, just when he felt somewhat calmer and believed the hell to be over, the world exploded in fire and ice. He did scream then; the feeling of his head being torn apart to great, finally losing his tongue.
Eventually, the burning ice faded away as well, and he was left in darkness. Small dots of light began dancing around him, slowing growing, increasing their shine. Harry blinked and watched in confusion and awe as the dots came together in the shape of two people. To very familiar people.
"Harry, love you did wonderful!" beamed the woman and pulled him close, her read hair tickling his chin.
"Great work there, son!"
Another arm, a bit heavier than his mother, wrapped around his shoulders as well.
"Am I dead?" Harry asked softly.
"No darling, you're just in the Between. But you must go back now. Remember that we love you."
"Also, we'll always be near. Say hi to my buddies for me, son. Love you."
His parents became small dots who drew away until he was once again in darkness.
####
Jennie placed the wet, cold towel on Harry's forehead again and squeezed his hand. He'd been out for five hours now and although every scan Severus did showed that all was well, Jennie couldn't help but feel as if something was just waiting to go horribly wrong. So, that's why she sat guard beside him, never once taking her eyes off him.
"Jennie, for Merlin's sake – he will be fine", said Sirius as he entered the room with a cup of coffee, a glass of orange juice and a few sandwiches on a tray.
"We don't know that!"
"Yes we do. Everything looks fine, no Horcrux is around, nor any other evil thing, all he has around him is love."
"Why isn't he waking up then?!"
"Of for fucks sake, woman, really, don't you think I wonder that too? I'm simply stating that he's fine", growled Sirius, now clearly annoyed with her attitude. Jennie didn't give a fuck.
"Well, do something! You're the magical being here, so swish and flick or something!" she snapped annoyed and stole a sandwich and bit into it without feeling the flavors.
Sirius grimaced.
"Alright, let's rewind. What's troubling you, love? Really."
"I hate it when you're being smart. I don't know what's troubling me; I just have this sinking feeling… wouldn't surprise me if it's really an after effect from him", she muttered and smiled sheepishly.
"That's wicked,. And not in a cool way."
"You don't say", she snorted and took the glass Sirius offered her.
"Sorry", she said after gulping half the juice down.
"Don't be. Love you. Hey, look!"
Jennie turned a little and beamed; Harry was blinking up at then, looking mildly amused.
"Why are you guys always bickering?"
"Harry!"
She beamed down at him and he grinned back as he slowly sat up.
"Ugh… that was not nice! Sirius, my dad says hello… are those sandwiches for me?"
Jennie blinked, and then giggled.
"Eat", she commanded the teenager and handed him the plate.
"You mean you met James?" said Sirius, now looking astonished.
"Yeah, and mum. They said they love me", said Harry happily and tucked in on his sandwiches.
