She was like, oh my God, this is my song

I've been listenin' to the radio all night long

Sittin' 'round waitin' for it to come on and here it is

She was like, come here boy, I wanna dance

'Fore I said a word, she was takin' my hand

Spinnin' me around 'til it faded out

And she gave me a kiss

And she said, play it again, play it again, play it again

And I said, play it again, play it again, play it again

Play It Again –Luke Bryan

Dom's POV

Right after Letty's abuela passed away, Letty threw herself into work at the garage. I would wake up every day at 6:00 AM to find her bed empty. By the time I actually opened the garage at 6:30 she was up to her elbows in engine grease. Then when the day was over she'd be the last one home, but never late for dinner with the family. Normally, I was the first one in the garage and the last to leave, but I didn't question it. I knew this was Letty's way of dealing with the pain. We both like to distract ourselves with cars.

It had been months since Letty's grandmother passed away and I had started to see little changes in Letty's behavior. She gradually started to smile at the boys antics again. Two weeks ago, I overheard her and Mia in fits of laughter over God only knows what. But the biggest change came last Friday when I decided to take Letty to the beach.

She had been working so hard for the last couple of months and she deserved a break. When I told the rest of the team they were closing the garage and shop that day no, one questioned me. We spent the day talking like old times and I couldn't help the pride I felt when I was able to make her laugh. Music was playing in the background but we weren't listening to it. At least I thought Letty wasn't. As the sun started to set, I went to get us ice cream so we could enjoy the sunset before heading home. When I came back I found Letty huddled by the radio. A song I recognized as one of her favorites began to play.

Letty stood up smiling and looking at me. "Oh my God Dom! This is my song."

"I know. You play it all the time. This was also the song that was playing when you had your first kiss….. in the back of my dad's charger… with me." I smiled back at her.

She looked down with a small tint of red highlighting her cheeks. She looked back up at me and smirked "Come here, boy. I wanna dance!"

I don't know what came over her because before I could say a word she walked up to me and took my hand. Letty began spinning me around and I didn't mind because that sweet smile never left her face. I had my Letty back. I took the lead and began twirling Letty around then she began to laugh. Her laugh was contagious because I began laughing as I dipped her. The song faded out and I couldn't believe how much fun she was having. Letty wasn't one to dance, especially in public. When I brought her back up her dark locks cascaded down in front of her face. With my thumb, I moved the hair that had fallen out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. The next thing I knew she leaned up and kissed me. When we broke the kiss, we just stood there staring at each other for a few good minutes.

Letty broke the silence with another smile and the sweetest words "Play it again." I smiled back at her as she backed away from me.

"Dom let's get home. I wanna go home to our family."

As we drove back home the memories I just made with Letty never left my mind. I wished it had lasted longer. I noticed Letty staring out the window. How I wish I could read her mind. I wanted to know what she thought about the kiss. Did it mean she wanted more out of our relationship? I turned the dial on my radio countless times just to keep my mind of the topic. Letty noticed though. She could tell I was anxious about something.

"It doesn't matter how many times you turn the dial. You're gonna get the same stations."

I stopped fidgeting after that. When I drove into the drive way I finally got the courage to talk to Letty about our relationship. "Let, we need to talk."

"Dom, are you breaking up with me?" Letty gave me her signature smirk making a joke out of my choice in words. Maybe, I could have gone with a better opening sentence. She must knew what this conversation would lead to.

"Look Letty, after today I-"

"Before I could get another word out Letty jumped out of her seat. "Dom, turn it up! This is my song!"

"Letty, I need to talk to you."

"Later ok. I promise." I was hesitant about this but I couldn't deny Letty's puppy dog eyes. "Come here boy. I wanna dance." Hadn't I just wished it could have lasted longer? I should count my blessings because God must really love me.

Letty took my hand and began dancing with me again. Luckily, no one knew we were already home. I would have had to kill someone if they ruined my moment with Letty.

As the song faded, Letty surprised me again when she kissed me for a second time that day. She backed away with that mischievous smile of hers, never once breaking eye contact. She turned to open the door. Walking into the house she gave me a final look and a wink.

All I could say to myself was "Play it again."
