Chapter 18 - Secrets In The Sand

Jack's POV

"Its my..." Kim started, "Its my mother." And I stared shocked,

"Kimmy," The women said.

"Don't call me that!" Kim hissed.

"H-how are you?" She asked her.

"How am I, You left 6 years ago out of the blue, and the first thing you say to me is, how am I? How do you think I am, Kirsty." Kim stated.

"Kim, sweetie, I can explain-" Kirsty started when my phone beeped and I checked my phone and saw my dad texting me saying he was here waiting.

"Um Kim, my dads waiting," I stated and she nodded.

"Who's this?" Kirsty asked politely referring to me.

"Not likes its any of your business but this is my friend Jack." Kim explained.

"And what about this little baby?" Kirsty asked confused.

"This is our daughter." Kim stated.

"Y-you have a daughter? But your only 15?" She asked confused.

"And your point is, you had me at 16, and you know, maybe if I had a mother around to talk to me about sex I wouldn't have gotten pregnant at 14," Kim said.

"Kirst," A Man around 35-36 said coming over with a 16yr old boy, and 8yr old girl, "You okay?" He asked concerned.

"Yeah, Steven, this is Kim, my daughter." Kirsty explained as Kim rolled her eyes, "Kim this is my husband Steven, his children Colton & Destiny, and my son Kian." She added.

"Your son, what so you skipped out on me and my sisters because you wanted to a son." Kim said crossing her arms.

"No off course not, I didn't know what I was thinking, I never expected to fall in love again and have another child-" She tried explaining when Kim cut her off.

"I don't want to hear it, I have to go, Jack come on," She said as she started walking,

"Kim wait!" Kirsty said desperately and I started pushing the stroller and followed Kim, we walked in silence until we came to my dad's car, he was in the drivers seat, Amelia was in the very back of the car, Lorna was in the passengers seat, I clicked the car seat into the middle seat and me & Kim sat down on either side of Kaitlyn,

"Did you have fun?" Dad asked us as he started driving,

"Yeah it was great." I said smiling,

"Kaitlyn really liked the water," Kim explained smiling, but I could tell her mind was else where.

"That's good." Dad said smiling,

"Hey," I whispered to Kim causing her to look at me, "You okay?" I asked quietly concerned,

"Yeah, don't worry about it," She said with a fake smiled and I grabbed her hand and squeezed it, letting her know I was there for her.

Kim's POV

"And we're home." Niall said as he parked the car outside the Brewer house and we all got out and I helped Amelia get out and smiled when she hugged me saying thank you,

"Hey did you have fun?" Phoebe asked us as she kissed Kaitlyn on the forehead and I nodded,

"Yeah it was nice to get out for a day." I said and she nodded in understandment, "I better get home before my dad worries," I said and she nodded hugging me goodbye and they all except Jack walked into the house, and Jack picked up Kaitlyn's car seat.

"Come on, I'll walk you over." He stated and we walked over to my house, we walked in and saw Alicia putting her coat on

"Hey your back!" Dad said and kissed my forehead, "And there's my gorgeous granddaughter," He whispered kissing Kaitlyn on the head, "Hey so, Alicia's going to work, and we're gonna put in a movie, what do you say?" She asked.

"Nah, Its been a long day, I'm just gonna put Kaitlyn to bed and have a bath," I said and he nodded, "Wanna help me put her to bed?" I asked Jack who nodded and we walked upstairs to Kaitlyn's room, we both kissed her on the head and put her into her crib, I smiled at my little angel and we walked downstairs, and out the front door, we both stood there against the front porch,

"So, are you really okay?" Jack asked me and I sighed shrugging,

"Honestly, I don't know." I stated.

"What actually happened Kim?" He asked and I looked down then back at him.

"My parents had me at a really young age, and had Kaylie when they turned 21, and at 25, they had Kiara, everything seemed great, but then one night, I woke up and walked downstairs, and I saw my mother putting suitcases into her car,"

Flashback:

"Mum?" I asked her and she turned around and looked at me,

"Kim, sweetheart, what are you doing out of bed?" She asked me as she closed the boot and locked the car doors,

"I heard noises, what are you doing?" I asked her confused, and she looked around nervously,

"Nothing sweetie, I'm just getting rid of some things, don't worry about it," She said and picked me up, "Come on, lets get you to bed," She said and took me to mine & Kaylie's bedroom, Kaylie was fast asleep in her princess bed, She placed me into the bed and tooked me in, "Right, now, you need to get to sleep Kimmy-cup." She said and kissed my forehead and I smiled,

"Can we have pancakes tomorrow for breakfast mummy?" I asked smiling,

"Yes love-bug, you can." She said with a smile filled with sadness and guilt,

"Night, I love you mum." I said turning over to face the wall under the blanket,

"Love you to Kimmy, love you too," I heard her say

End Of Flashback:

"And that was the last time I ever saw her, I woke up the next day and, she was gone," I said sadly,

"Kim, I'm so sorry." Jack said to me.

"Its not your fault," I said giving him a half smile,

"Your mum was crazy to leave you, and your family, trust me." He said smiling and I smiled, "I best get back." He said and I nodded as he pulled me by the waist into a hug and I breathed in his scent smiling, we pulled back looking at each other, the porch light making his eye twinkle a little, I smiled as Jack's hand cupped my cheek and I leaned into it still looking him in the eye, we both leaned forward, our eyes closing as we did so, and before I knew it our lips touched in a soft and gentle kiss, our lips moving in sync, it only lasted about a minute until we pulled apart, "And that's to where we left off today," He whispered against my lips causing a shiver to run down my side as we both took a step back, "Goodnight Kim." He said smiling and began walking over to his house and I bit my lip smiling and walked inside to get ready for my bath.
