Epilogue May 18 1999

It was chilly outside, but the man who walked along the gravel road did not seem to mind. He was clad in jeans and a grey t-shirt which brought out his eyes and made them seem alive with thunder.

The small clearing were silent. The memorial stones were all in perfect shape.

The man sat down in front of the stone with decorative roses on. Carefully, he brought a bundle of blood red roses from a bag and began to cover the little place for flowers as the stone's foot. He didnät stop until every inch was painted with blood red petals.

"I miss you."

He pulled cigarette and lighter from his pocket, drew a shaky breath and lit a flame. The smoke seemed to comfort him as he pulled it into his body and then breathed it out slowly.

"I know I should stop, I really can, but I know you think it's sexy so I figured I'd keep it up a little longer, love."

The man pushed his free hand through long black hair and smiled a little.

"Harry says hello, he's off with his boyfriend and I really think they needed this trip after the shitty year… You did great, you know, but you fucking didnät have to you silly blonde! But, I would have done the same if I had been you, so I can't really sit here and scold you."

The man lit another cigarette, blew small rings into the air.

"I hope you're having fun over there, I know James and Lily are keeping you company. I dream about you, but I almost think these dreams are real, like you are there, in the spirit dream world. If you really are, I gotta say I love what you did last night."

He finished the cigarette, put it out against his shoe and smiled at the roses.

"I'm meeting Remus and his little family later, they miss you as well. I really think we could have been happy, Jennie, for longer. But I bloody love our short happiness! I'm heading into town now, love, I have a meeting, just wanted to say hello. I love you."

Sirius Black left the memorial clearing, feeling a little better as he did after ach weekly visit the past year.

"Hey, you're making me bawl, really, stop it!" muttered James Potter as he patted Jennie Andrews on the back. His wife, Lily, gave him an annoyed glare that said "you're not helping".

"Oh shut up Potter!" huffed the blonde woman and gave him a watery smile.

"Told you he still loves you", James pointed out.

"You're funny", sniffled Jennie and drew a shake breath.

"Hey, you'll see each other again", said Lily kindly.

"In years, yes! What am I supposed to do in those years?!"

"Oh Jennie, a year with and you still haven't learned… that's sad!" said James with a grin.

Jennie huffed and hit the man on the arm.

"Haha! Ugh, okay, I'm all good. Besides, he'll come again next week. So, what ar w doing today?"

James Potter grinned.

"I'll teach you how to to do more than appear in people's dreams, like moving things in the living world, and then we can watch our crazy loved ones. You in?"

"You bet! Hey, thanks you two."

The Potters smiled, Jennie straightened and the spirits left the living world – invisible to the living eye – to spend another day in afterlife.

Life did move on – literally.

Sirius lay sprawled out in bed, naked as always, and amused himself with imagining Jennie telling him that he had done great when telling off a co-worker for being a sexist pig. He could see her beam at him and laughing at his words.

Something fell on the floor; he leaned and looked down on his sketch block. And image of Jennie eating a popsicle, hastily drawn on a rainy day inside. Sirius smiled slightly and lowered a hand to pick the block and pen up. It moved.

"What the fuck…"

Now, he saw things, great. He reached lower but Hell the bloody sketch book really moved.

The chase for the book led Sirius to his desk, wondering who the fuck was messing with him.

He sat down and slammed a hand on the book, forcing it still.

Annoyed but too tired to make a call out of the happing, Sirius glanced at the sketch. And froze.

He knew that handwriting, and it had not been on the page a minute ago; the ink wasn't even dry.

"I love you, tall dark and handsome. See you in a few years."

"Well fuck… that's wicked…"

Sirius decided that he really needed to sleep.

Before he turned the light off, he smiled into thin air.

"Night love, have fun with James and Lily. And see you in a few years, you better be waiting."

He closed his eyes. He slept. And he dreamed about her.
