Chapter 22 - Family Dinner
Jack's POV - 5pm
"So, when is this dinner ready Phoebe." My grandmother Lydia asked my mother impatiently,
"It will be ready in 20 minutes Lydia, don't worry," My mum said calmly,
"Fine." Grandma huffed.
"So Jackson, This daughter of yours, how old is she now?" My grandfather Joseph asked me.
"Um, she's 1 month old tomorrow." I stated.
"What she called?" He asked me.
"Kaitlyn Amelia Brewer." I said and he nodded.
"Jack, why dont you go over and get Kim & Kaitlyn." Dad said and I stood up nodding.
"Why? Isn't this girl capable of crossing the street on her own, what she can have sex but has to hold someone's hand when walking." Grandma hissed.
"Off course not mum, but Jack is a gentleman, he likes going over there to spend some time with Kaitlyn." Dad said.
"What so she doesnt let you see your daughter then," She stated.
"No, I can see Kaitlyn whenever I want, Kim doesnt stop me from doing so, Anyway, I'm gonna go get Kim, I'll be back soon." I said and walked out of the house and over to the Crawfords and knocked.
"Who is it?!" Kim voice yelled.
"Its me." I stated.
"Come in!" She yelled and I opened the door and so no one was there, "I'm upstairs, can you go get Kaitlyn she's in her crib." She yelled and I ran upstairs and into Kaitlyn's room, I saw her lay on her back in the crib looking around,
"Hello there gorgeous girl." I stated smiling as I held her up and kissed her, "Dont you look amazing," I said smiling at what she was wearing and hugged her close to my chest, and I walked downstairs and strapped her into the car seat and made sure everything she would need was in her baby bag,
"Okay I'm ready." Kim said from behind my and I turned around and stood in awe at her, "Jack you okay?" She asked me but I remained frozen, she wore a dress from missguided, it was bustier on top, it was a red velvet tpye material with gold studs all over it with black straps and the bottom which started from mid-waist was wet look and she had black tights on with it and black heeled shoes, and her golden blonde hair was curled to perfection, "Hello, Jack, anybody home?" She asked waving her hand infront of my place cutting of my stare.
"Huh, what?" I asked and she looked at me weird, "I mean, yeah, everythings fine, why wouldnt it be," I said.
"You just dissapeared for a second there, you alright?" She asked and I nodded,
"Yeah, sorry It's just, you look, well, gorgeous," I said and she blushed whilst looking down making her hair cover her rosie cheeks and her hands started fidgeting with the bottom of her dress, "Hey," I said grabbing hold of one of her hands, "Stop fidgeting," I said pushing a piece of hair behind her ear and she smiled,
"So, should we get going?" She asked me and I nodded picking up Kaitlyn's car seat as Kim put on her black army jacket and picked up the baby bag,
"Come on," I said as she locked the front door and I grabbed hold of her left hand and she blushed again,
Kim's POV
"We're back!" Jack said as we walked into the house,
"There's the little angel." Phoebe said as Jack set the car seat on side,
"Jackson," An old women said looking at us,
"Grandma, this is Kim, Kim these are my grandparents Lydia & Joseph Brewer." Jack said with a hand on my back.
"Hi," I said to them politely.
"Hey there little lady." Jack's grandfather said and shook my hand, "You can call me Joseph." He stated and I nodded smiling,
"Lydia." Jack's grandmother said with no expression and dint shake my hand.
"Okay," I said and turned towards Kaitlyn and undid the car seat and picked her up. "Heyo baby." I said kissing her cheek and let her wrest on me for a second and kissed her forehead, "Why dont you go to daddy." I said and carefully handed her to Jack smiled instantly and kissed her forehead,
"Gramps, Grams, this is Kaitlyn," He said walking closer to them,
"She's adorable." Joseph said smiling at her,
"She's definately a Brewer," Lydia said,
"Right well, everyone sit down, dinners ready," Gabriella said as her, Niall & Phoebe put the plates on the table, the seating arrangements were, on the right end of the table there was Joseph, Jack, me, Lorna, Delia, Shaun, and on the left end was Lydia, then Niall, Buster, Amelia, Gabriella & Phoebe, Jack had hold of Kaitlyn in his arms,
"I think someone needs feeding," Jack stated,
"I'll warm up her bottle," I stated standing up,
"Nonsense Kim, I'll do it, you have to do it all the time," Gabriella said standing taking the bottle out of my hand and walking into the kitchen and I sat back down, and Kaitlyn started whimpering,
"Hey shh, shh, come on now princess," Jack stated trying to sooth her,
"Granma Gabs will be back in a minute with your bot-bot sweetie," I said as Jack held her upwards so she was looking at me but she wouldnt stop crying, "Oh come on sweetheart, just wait another minute," I said softly.
"Shh, shh, princess, it's okay." Jack said trying to sooth her when thankfully Gabriella came in and handed me the bottle and I smiled gratefully and started to feed Kaitlyn as Jack held her,
"So Kim, Jack tells us your into karate," Joseph said and I nodded,
"Yeah," I said smiling,
"What belt are you?" He asked.
"2nd degree Blackbelt," I said, and he nodded,
"I don't like girls who do karate," Lydia said and it went silent, "It's very unlady like, karate is a mens sport, when I was fifteen I did balet, like Lorna & Amelia do, and like all girls should do." She said,
"Yeah I did do balet for a short period of time, but I changed so I could do gymnastics and karate," I stated,
"I always hated gymnastics, its just a way for young girls to show boys how athletic they are to get boys into bed," She stated glancing down at Kaitlyn,
"Grandma," Jack stated,
"Dalia darling, what do you do?" She asked turning her attention to Delia, who shifted uncomfortably.
"Um, gymnastics," She stated.
"Oh well, your 18, thats okay," She stated and I inwardly told myself to calm down,
"Anyway, Shaun, how's college?" Joseph asked,
"It's going good," He said and it again went into an awkward silence,
"So Jackson, how's Lindsay," Lydia asked him.
"I don't know, we're not together anymore," He said casually.
"Why heavens not?" She asked,
"Well, I had to chose between Kaitlyn & her, and I chose Kaitlyn," He added.
"Well that's ridiculas, Why would you make him chose between the girl he loves and his daughter Kim, why couldnt he have both?" She asked me,
"Kim didn't make me chose Grandma, Lindsay did," Jack said, his voice raising a little,
"Really now?" Lydia asked not believing him,
"Its true, I truely wasn't bothered about Jack dating Lindsay whilst being in Kaitlyn's life, I didn't see a problem with it, but Lindsay didnt want that," I stated.
"Yeah, Lindsay wanted to come first in my life, and couldnt handle it that Kaitlyn came first," Jack stated,
"Right, and who comes second," She asked.
"Well, Kim obviously, because she is the mother of my child," Jack stated as I finished feeding Kaitlyn and put her empty bottle in the bag whilst he burped her and handed her to me and I wrapped the pink baby blanket around her as I held her close to my chest and gently tucked her up and swayed a little so she would fall asleep,
"Hmm, and if you were still with Lindsay, where would she come into all this?" Lydia asked and I looked at Jack,
"She wouldnt because there's no possible way I would be with Lindsay right now, I mean, even if Kaitlyn didn't exist, I don't think, I know me & Lindsay definately wouldnt of lasted as long as we did," He stated and Joseph smiled at him,
"Well, you have a very beautiful daughter there Jackson, and her mother is very gorgoeus as well, make sure you take care of them probably," Joseph said and Jack smiled looking at me and Kaitlyn, and I smiled at him as I carried on swaying a little,
"I will," He said still looking at me and I felt him grab my right hand and squeeze it then carry on eating using only his right hand, I sadly let go of his hand so I coud start eating,
Jack's POV
"Well, you have a very beautiful daughter there Jackson, and her mother is very gorgoeus as well, make sure you take care of them probably," Joseph said and I smiled looking at Kim and Kaitlyn, and She smiled at me as she carried on swaying a little,
"I will," I said still looking at her and grabbed her right hand and squeezed it then carried on eating using only my right hand, Kim let go of my hand so she could eat her food,
Kim's POV
"Right well, I think It's time we head back Nialls, your grandmothers getting tired," Joseph stated once it turned 9 o'clock. "Nice meeting you Kim, and nice meeting you two little Kaitlyn," He said to us and hugged me,
"Right lets go," Lydia said as they all walked out,
"I better get going too, get this little girl to bed," I said looking at Kaitlyn in her car seat fast asleep,
"Come on, I'll walk you home," Jack said as we stood up,
"Right I'm gonna get these to bed," Phoebe said as her, Amelia & Buster stood up, "Night Kaity," She said and kissed her on the forehead and turned to me, "Night sweetie," She said and hugged me goodbye,
"Nighty nighty Kimmy." Amelia said hugging me and I smiled,
"Night MeMe," I said nicely,
"Night night Kimmy," Buster said and also hugged me,
"Night Bust," I said brushing a hand through his brown hair and he ran upstairs to bed with Amelia & Phoebe following,
"Night guys," Gabriella said hugging me and walking into the kitchen,
"Right, we're gonna go, we're staying at Dalia's the night," Shaun said after whispering something into Dalia's ear smirking as she blushed and they ran out the door,
"And I'm just watching tv." Lorna said after hugging me and sitting down on the softly,
"I'll be back," Jack said as he picked up the car seat and we walked out, when we did, we noticed Shaun & Dalia in the back seat of his car making out,
"They go at it like rabbits, I'm telling ya," Jack said and I giggled,
"It's cute," I said as we started walking,
"Yeah, until you hear them going at it in the room next to yours," He stated,
"Ew." I said and he chuckled as we arrived at my house and I unlocked the doors and we walked upstairs to Kaitlyn's bedroom, "I'm just gonna change, do you mind putting her in her crib?" I asked Jack and he shook his head, I entered my room and went into my closet to find something to wear for bed, I chose a white tank top, and hot pink crop sweat pants, I wiped of all my make-up and put my hair up into a messy bun ontop of my head just as Jack knocked on my bedroom door, "Come in," I said and he walked in,
"So, where is everyone?" He asked me.
"They've gone to visit my grandparents for the night," I stated,
"Wait, so you and Kaitlyn are here alone?" He asked worriedly,
"Yeah, but we'll be fine," I said walking into Kaitlyn's room and giving her a kiss on the forehead,
"Okay, but if you need me, ring me," Jack's voice said startling me as he was right behind me, so that his mouth was right next to my ear and I could feel him behind me,
"I will," I said glancing at him then back at Kaitlyn and I sighed resting my head against his shoulder and Jack leaned his head down and kissed me on the forehead,
"Whats up?" He asked me concerned,
"Nothing just, just a long night," I stated,
"Yeah I'm sorry about my grandmother, seems all she ould do is throw insults at you, I'll talk to her," He said,
"Jack It's fine dont worry," I stated,
"No, It isnt, It wasnt, She needs to understand that she cant treat you like that, your always gonna be in our lives and thats not gonna change, and besides you've had enough people saying stuff about you, you dont need anymore, expecially of someone who should know better," He said and I sighed walking into my room and he followed, "Kim? Whats wrong, there's something else bothering you," He stated walking closer, "Kim," He added,
"Did you mean what you said before at dinner, about how I come 2nd to you?" I asked,
"Well yeah, I'm sorry you couldnt come first but Kaitlyn sorta has that spot," He joked,
"No, I mean, why do I even have a 'spot' in your, top, 10 people or something," I said,
"Because, your the mother of my child, my first child, your the girl I lost my, you know, virginity too, thats means something," He said and I smiled although you couldnt really tell as my bedroom light was turned of, the only light was coming from the moon outside my window,
"Thank you," I said softly and he smiled placing a hand on my cheek and stroking it softly, and I sighed leaning into his hand whilst closing my eyes, after a moment I opened them to see Jack looking at me intently, my breath hitched as I realised we were both leaning in, I sighed as we got closer and closed my eyes and waiting when I felt it, his lips on mine, like they were meant to be...
Hope you liked it, and I was planning on uploading this morning, but I was in a ton of pain and ended up in hospital for a couple hours, I'm home now, its 9:16pm, and I got home literally 10 minutes ago, anyway., 'll upload soon and sorry for the spelling mistakes I don't have the energy to go through it to correct them,
