Chapter 15

Sookie

The question Godric asked me was the main one that also baffled me. I had no idea what that light was all I knew is that I needed to protect Godric at all costs. I don't even know how it came to happen. "Honestly Godric I have no clue. You needed protection and at that moment my prayers were answered and you were safe"

"Thank you again for saving me ma petite. But as it would seem we have a mystery to solve. Has anything like this ever happened before?" I tried to think of a time that something like this has previously occurred but for life of me I couldn't recall any. I have never been in a situation like that before.

"Godric all my life I have lived in a small town where nothing exciting or dangerous ever happened so the answer to that question would be a no."

"You certainly are an enigma my dear, one I look forward to figuring out"

The rest of the trip back to my place was filled with silence. Occasionally, the three vampires would speak in another language, that I gathered was Swedish, but I was not entirely sure. Feeling sleepy I placed my head on Godric's oddly comfortable shoulder and decided to take a nap. God knows I needed it that's for sure, but soon enough I felt myself being shaken awake, being told that we have arrived.

Stepping out of the van I look up at my house. Compared to the company I have had over the last few weeks going back to my quiet house seems lonely. Sighing I turn back around to the vampires in my yard. "Thank you all for bringing me back home". Godric, Eric and Pam all gave me a nod basically signalling a 'you're welcome'. "I hope to see you soon Sookie, I look forward to getting to know you better, and just so you know I am going to look into this light business" Godric said this politely with a hint of seriousness. If this matter is baffling him as much as I think it is, it might be something precarious.

"Godric" I said addressing the dark haired vampire "I am sure that this thing is nothing. But if you must look into it for your own piece of mind go ahead" I am not sure why he is so adamant about figuring this out. It was a bit that, well saved his life, but it was a one of occurrence. Hopefully.

"I have a few people to call but I will get back to you on this matter my dear"

'Ok thank you"

Godric turns and heads back towards Pam's van whilst Eric takes a few of his large steps towards me. "Sookie I would like to say thank you again for all the help and effort you put into rescuing my maker. Without you he would have met his final death and that is something I am not quite ready for just yet. On a more serious note though, if Godric is feeling this intense about this light thing you have going on it would be wise for him to check it out. He has over 2000 years of knowledge and new information tends to make him worried. There is not too much my maker doesn't know so I would like you to take this into consideration when dealing with this situation"

"Thank you Eric for clearing up that for me. I can understand how frustrating this is for him but it is equally for me. I don't want light popping up out of any part of my body. I am perfectly happy reading others minds. Well as much as you can be happy about that sort of thing. I will not fight him on this though. Let's just hope this light is nothing and the whole situation passes quickly" I am fed up with this talk of me like I am abnormal. I am different because of the telepathy but I really do not want to be any more of a freak.

The vampires piled into the van without any more words so I turned on my heel to head inside to get ready for bed.

Godric

Sitting in the back of the van gave me a chance to think about how best to deal with the situation at hand. The 'light' that came from Sookie was surprising familiar. I have come across the fae many years ago and based on the fact that Sookie is displaying the same powers, I suspect that she is likely a Fae.

As I learnt centuries ago, the light ability is the elementary power all forms of fae produce. What I find odd though is that the light emanating from her was quite powerful despite the fact that she is not full Fae.

If she is indeed fae then she will require help dealing with these powers. During my time I have managed study all supernatural races and while I consider myself to have quite the vast knowledge on all creatures, the Fae still allude me. I have not acquired all I would like to know. I know their obvious weaknesses, iron and lemons, but I do not know much about their hierarchy, specific powers for each race or even their full potential.

One thing I know, when a Fae is coming into their powers they are at the complete mercy of their emotions. Without proper guidance and training she will become very unstable. Ultimately she could easily destroy herself and countless others.

If this is going to happen to Sookie the same way it happened to her then the matter is urgent. I will have to get a hold of someone as soon as possible to discuss this. Pulling out my phone I send off a message to the man I haven't spoken to in more than half my life.

There is not much more I can do on this matter until I hear back from him.

Sookie

The light coming in from my window seemed oddly bright today, despite the curtain hanging up to block most of the sun's rays from entering my room. How early was it? Looking over to my bedside table at my alarm clock I saw that it was only 6 am. I was shocked that I was awake this early, especially after the last few days I have had. One would think that I would be still exhausted, but I felt overly alert so I decided that I may as well get up and start my day.

Walking downstairs into the kitchen I chose to make something simple for breakfast this morning as I haven't been grocery shopping for a few days. After throwing together my bowl of cereal and pouring my cup of coffee I headed out the front to enjoy this in the morning light. Sitting down on the bench on my veranda, I placed my coffee and cereal onto the small table in front of me. Everything seemed so much clearer today, so bright, and so beautiful. The grass surrounding my house is such a vibrant green; I can see every grain on wood on the trees and identify every single leaf. Despite how beautiful and magical this is new vision of my surroundings is, it actually frightened me. No partially abnormal human should be able to see in this much detail. This was not natural!

'Could this be a factor of the vampire blood?' I asked myself but internally I knew that this was not. Vision does get enhanced by vampire's blood but never have I heard this happening. What is going on?

Again sorry this has taken so long, but this is where it starts to get interesting. Review x
