So unbelievably sorry for the wait guys! I have been on a volunteer mission trip and had no laptop and writing on my phone really wasn't working.
I got back home today and began writing immediately hoping that would placate anyone! Sooooooo sorry for the wait.
But here is chapter 13
Love me! 3
Emma was in a mad panic, she couldn't find her sheriffs badge anywhere; throwing clothes across the floor, emptying the contents of her bag, tearing the linen from the bed. It was nowhere. "Regina!" she checked the top of the draws again. "Regina!"
"Is it necessary to scream, dear? What have you lost this time?" The brunette had noticed this was fast becoming a routine; Emma would lose something that was in plain sight, panic, destroy any order that the older woman had in her bedroom and then ask for help.
"My badge! I had it like 10 minutes ago, now I can't find it." Regina let out a low chuckle. "It's not funny 'Gina." Emma had in fact been in possession of the badge 10 minutes ago when she come down stairs for a coffee. "Actually it is, dear. At least from where I stand. You would lose your head were it not screwed on, though I'm certain a few of those screws are loose. It's downstairs, Emma, on the bench. Where you put when you had your coffee."
"Oh." The blonde offered a sheepish smile. "Thanks. What would I do without you?"
"Make Miss Blanchard do everything?"
"Yep!" The sheriff placed a quick chaste kiss on her girlfriend's cheek and ran down stairs. Regina took in the state of her room before rolling her eyes and, despite desperately wanting to clean it, she shut the door on the mess to join her family.
"Hey babe, I will be home about an hour late tonight." Regina loved that. She loved that Emma would always let her know when she would be home. She never had to worry. She also loved that the blonde called it 'home', it warmed every inch of her.
"Ok, dear," Chocolate eyes fluttered shut as her lover kissed her cheek across the counter. "do we want to go to the diner for dinner then?"
In unison both her son and her Sheriff nodded eagerly. "Can I get a milkshake?"
"Kid, don't push it or we won't be able to go. You have to soften her up before you ask." Henry's face scrunched up in thought. He looked so cute.
"Oh. Mum, is it ok if I go and do my homework?" The boy then turned to Emma and whispered, none too quiet. "Like that?"
Both women chuckled and the blonde nodded her head, 'yes'.
Henry ran up stairs as fast as his little people legs could carry him, causing both women to laugh again. The younger woman looked over at her lover and sighed, "I love you."
Regina's expression turned seductive as she purred, "I love you too, Sheriff."
Shaking her head she replied, "I'm serious."
Hearing her earnest tone, the mayors features softened and chocolate eyes bore into green, before plump lips pulled into a beautifully sincere smile. "So am I."
"Henry! Are you ready to go?" Emma was going through her mental checklist before leaving to drop the kid off at school and head to work. Badge? Check. Keys? Check. Lunch, expertly prepared by one very sexy mayor? Check. She smiled at her own inner monologue and started to move for the foyer to wait.
"Have you forgotten something, Miss Swan?" Emma quickly gave herself a once over.
"Well I'm definitely wearing pants, so I think I have everything." At the unamused quirk of her girlfriend's brow the younger woman finally caught on. In three big strides she reached out and placed on hand in brown bed hair and the other on a waist and surprised the hell out of Regina by dipping her and kissing her hard. "Now I am ready to go."
"Cute." The brunette rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile at her lover's actions.
Henry came running down the stairs and threw himself into his mothers arms, hugging her goodbye for the day. "I love you, Henry. Have a good day." The blonde and the little boy stepped out onto the porch and Regina called out; "And please make sure you eat your appleā¦both of you!" The only answer she got were two identical groans that just made her smile.
Emma got home an hour late as promised, she walked through the unlocked door at 6:30 and went about hanging her coat and removing her shoes. She lazily walked up the grand stairs to Regina's bed and flopped down onto it. "Hey 'Gina." She called out while letting her eyes flutter closed.
"Hello, dear. Long day?" The brunette was standing in her closet. Looking for clothes. Wearing only her underwear. Nothing else. This certainly caught Emma's attention and she was on her feet in seconds. "Please refrain from looking at me that way. We really need to get ready. Henry is, as he puts it, "starving". Which really is impossible as her only just had a sandwich and an apple." This made Emma laugh and sympathise with the boy. She too, was starving.
"He is a growing boy, Regina, he's got to eat."
"Yeah? So what's your excuse? I'm sure you could out eat the entire town."
She let out an amused snort, but had to agree. "Well, the sheriff needs plenty of sustenance."
"And you find that on a plate of fries and a greasy burger?"
"Yes." Was her simple retort before she went to the ensuite to wash up. She donned the blue shirt she had left her the other week and her jeans, brushed her hair before throwing it into a messy pony tail and splashed some water on her face. When she entered the bedroom again Regina had already left.
In the foyer she was greeted by two brunettes smiling brightly and waiting for her. To go to dinner. As a family. Just the three of them.
"Ready to go, Emma?" Henry asked and as if on queue his stomach made a loud grumbling sound. He smiled sheepishly and the sheriff just laughed.
"Yeah kid, let's go." She bent down to whisper, "Don't worry, I'm starving too." He grinned up at his mother, who to Emma's surprise, poked her tongue out at the boy.
Regina took Emma's hand before the trio left for the diner.
