"Regina" She took an olive hand in her own. "Are you alright? You seem a bit...I don't know. Just a bit tense, I guess."
The mayor let out a sigh. "Sorry. Dinner tonight, it made me think…well actually a lot of things recently have made me think…about you," she let go of Emma's hand and the blonde felt like her stomach was full of rocks. "And us…what we are doing…"
"Regina, its ok, if…if this isn't what you want, it's ok, I get it." There was a noticeable crack in her voice as she chocked back tears.
"Not what I want?" Soft fingers caressed a pale cheek before cupping it. "Emma, I want more. I…I want you to move in with me. If you would like to?"
"Oh thank god." Emma released the breath she was holding.
"Excuse me?" The brunette quirked an eye brow.
"You had me thinking the worst, I mean god woman, you couldn't have acted more excited about me moving in?"
"About you moving in? Is that you saying yes?"
"Yes! Of course yes!" The younger woman wrapped her arms around the mayor's waist and crashed their lips together, not able to suppress the smile on her lips.
"Did you ask her? Is she going to move in!?" Henry had been watching from the doorway and burst through the minute Emma kissed his mother.
"Yes, Henry, Emma is going to move in." There were a few tears falling from chocolate eyes, but they were quickly wiped away.
"Yeah, kid, I would never pass up an opportunity to pester you 24/7"
"Ha ha, Emma, very funny." He dead panned. "So when are you moving in? Are you staying tonight? I think we should celebrate! We can watch Harry Potter and eat popcorn!"
"Maybe that milkshake wasn't a good idea, Gina." The mayor rolled her eyes but could keep the smile from her face so it lost all effectiveness. Henry looked up at Regina pouting, Emma looked much the same. How could she refuse?
The brunette sighed. "Which one would you like to watch, Henry?"
"Umm..." He took a moment to think before putting on a smirk, "Number three!"
Both women sighed and slumped their shoulders. "Henry, we watch that one all the time."
Emma smiled at actually witnessing Regina whinge, before adding, "Yeah, kid, I think we've watched it about a hundred times."
"Well mum asked, and I pick that one." The small brunette went to the cabinet across the room and pulled out the desired DVD.
"I guess I should go make some popcorn. Make yourself at home." The mayor said and winked at the blonde, whose home it now was.
"Well I think Luna is my favorite, so I guess that's why I like the later movies."
"Oh. Have you read the books, Emma? I have all of them. You can borrow them sometime. Mum read it to me as bed time stories and they are still my favorites." The boy said with a huge smile on his face.
"I might have to take you up on that offer."
"Hey, Emma."
"Yeah, kid?"
"I...I just..." A furious blush flooded the boys face and the blonde had to try her best not to laugh.
"What's wrong, buddy?"
"Nothing. Nothing is wrong. It's right. I like having you here. It's...It's happier. Before you I don't think mum was very happy. She didn't have any friends or anyone to talk to, but she smiles and laughs more now, and I think that's because of you."
Emma couldn't believe she was speaking to a seven year old, he was truly an old soul. "Henry, you made and make your mother incredibly happy. You always have and you always will. It's not just me."
"But you make her happy in a different way." Emma did laugh this time. If only you knew, kid. But then she just smiled and nodded. "You two make me happy as well."
While Regina was in the kitchen Emma and Henry took to creating a makeshift picnic in the lounge room. They put a blanket on the floor first, then threw all the pillows off the couch down and grabbed a second blanket to lay over them. "Hey Henry, you pick a spot and I will see how the popcorn is going."
The boy immediately settled in the very middle of the set up as Emma made her way towards the popping sound.
"The DVD is in, we are just waiting on a beautiful brunette to join us," Regina turned around to kiss the blonde but before she could, Emma took a step back and said, "So I better go pick her up."
"Ha ha. Just full of jokes tonight, aren't you, Swan. Do you want to sleep on the couch tonight?" The mayor drawled. "Now get your sexy ass back in there so we can watch this movie. Again."
"It would seem that watching Harry Potter is thoroughly exhausting." Regina laughed indicating to the snoring boy between them.
"Hey, I can vouch for that." The blonde managed to say through a stifled yawn.
"You're not tired are you, Sheriff? That's really too bad." The brunette stood, careful not to wake Henry, and started walking towards the kitchen, sure that Emma would follow. And she did, hypnotized by the swaying of hips. "I mean, I was hoping to celebrate your moving in, in our own way. A sort of consummation." Regina looked at her lover with nothing but lust and mirth in her eyes. "But if your tired I completely under-" She cut off the mayor's sarcastic rant with a kiss full of desire and not an ounce of exhaustion.
Sorry for the wait. It sometimes just takes a while for motivation and inspiration to strike. Please forgive me.
I am thinking of doing a chapter soon that is almost purely Henry and Emma because I think in any SQ dynamic (especially given that Emma and Henry are not related) their relationship is important. Let me know if that sounds good or not :)
Again thank you for reading, I appreciate any and all feedback and yes I have left this with a promise for smut ;)
