Chapter 5
The One Thing He Cares For
Sonic walked through the workshop, slowly. All the yeti's around stopped and stared at him in shock; wondering why he was wondering through the workshop. They saw his expression and decided to just leave him be. Sonic walked along the platform that held tables and yeti's walked by with many toys in their arms. He passed the yeti's and platforms and came to a door with ice surrounding the window panes. Sonic stared at the door for a little while before grabbing the handle and going inside.
Inside, past the door was large room with an ice train track sculpture in the middle of a large table; a flying ice train was flying around the room and past the track sculpture. The room was a red colour with black and white columns. Sonic approached the table and looked at the ice with wonder and disbelief. His eyes then, travelled to a snow globe beside the sculpture and he picked it up and looked at and sighed. The snow was on the bottom of it, covering the bottom in snow yet it seemed to somehow fly to the top of the glass encased globe.
"I wish I could see you, Tails," Sonic whispered. His eyes widened when the snow falling from inside the globe changed to a workshop.
"You can see him if you want," a voice said behind him causing Sonic to whirl around and stare at who it was.
Bunnymund stood behind Sonic with his arms folded. His brows were furrowed, but not in any kind of irritated way, it was out of concern.
"What?" Sonic asked in shock, his deep voice going slightly higher at the tone he used.
Bunnymund's eyes looked to the globe as if to point it out. "You can see your friend by throwing that at the wall. It will take you to him."
Sonic stared at Bunnymund and then down at the snow globe. He held it tightly in his clawed hands and then looked to the wall in curiosity. "But, won't it break?" Sonic asked, slightly confused.
Bunnymund smiled at Sonic and shook his head at the werehog. "No, mate. It's not that type of snow globe."
Sonic nodded, understanding; he took in a deep breath and threw the snow globe at the wall. He let go of the snow globe and it flew from his hand to the wall; smashing with no glass shards appearing after the impact, just a swirling portal with a white workshop on the other side. Sonic stared at the portal in shock and took a step toward it.
"It's the workshop…" Sonic whispered.
Bunnymund looked at Sonic and nodded his head at him. "It is."
Sonic swallowed a small lump in his throat and then walked up to the portal and looked into it before taking another deep breath and going through.
XXXXX
Sonic came out of the portal in the lounge room of the workshop and a small smile appeared on his face. "I'm home." He looked out the window and by looking out it, realised it was nearing dawn. How time had flew by while he was at the North Pole.
Sonic walked out of the lounge room and over to a door between the lounge room and the kitchen. He opened the metal door and walked down the stairs toward the lab. His shoes made small clinking sounds on the metal stairs as he walked down them. His foot came onto the even metal floor after the last step and looked around a with small, amused smile. He hadn't been here in over a year, so he wondered what Tails had been up to. He looked to the Tornado and saw that it was still there and still its usual blue and yellow colour. He looked over to a desk beside the wall on the opposite side the Tornado was on.
Sonic walked over to it and saw who was sitting in the chair with his head on the desk. Sonic's ears bent back once he saw the orange two-tailed fox sitting at the desk, asleep. Sonic looked down at the fox and sighed, "Oh, Tails. You stayed up again." He went to go touch Tails' shoulder, but his hand went through it. Sonic widened his eyes and then looked down out of sadness. "I guess they were right." He took his hand away from the foxes' shoulder and took a few steps back.
Bunnymund came up behind Sonic and saw Tails. His eyebrows lowered to show concern as did his ears. "You know, we all were once not believed in. We were just a story told to children to keep their spirits up high. Soon, we made up our time with making up our holidays to make sure the kids had something to look forward to through the year." Sonic lifted his head and looked over at Bunnymund with sad eyes. "If you keep trying … I'm sure they'll be able to see you."
Sonic looked back down at Tails and nodded. "I guess you're right." Sonic looked back to Bunnymund with a smile. "I can't keep wallowing around like this. We need to find this … Pitch guy you know and stop him!" Sonic said, punching a hand to his fist.
Bunnymund nodded with a small cocky smile of his own. "Exactly." They both heard a small groan from behind them and looked at Tails; who had just moved slightly in his seat. "We should go. Don't need to wake the poor kid up."
Sonic nodded and led Bunnymund back out of the lab before taking one last glance at Tails, "Good night, lil' bro."
Sonic closed the door behind him and Tails' right ear twitched, slightly. He groaned and moved a little once more in the seat he was sleaping in. "Sonic…"
IMPORTANT NOTICE PLEASE READ!
This is just a quick update because I have been getting reviews about 'Update, I don't want this story to die. You haven't updated in TWO YEARS' Yadda yadda. When I read that review I like 'What?'. 'TWO YEARS!?' I may have not updated this story in a while, but that doesn't mean you have to lose count of how of LONG since I last updated. It says I last updated in September, 2013 and it's May, 2014 now. It hasn't been two years. NOT EVEN ONE! Only a few months. Now it may feel like forever for you guys, since your reviewers and readers, but I'm a reader as well as a writer, so I know what it feels like to wait for a story for such a long time. Also my stories are NOT dead. I've said before they only will be discontinued if they say so in the summary that they are, so that means NONE of them are discontinued. Can you stop making things up in the review box that is putting stress on me that I'm not already going though!
(Takes deep breath to calm self down) I have been doing a lot of things to do with school lately, assignments, then there's my own life; friends, family and sickness (Which I have now, but I'm so annoyed by these reviews I took the time out of my spare sick day from SCHOOL to write this for YOU) and then there's writers block (Which I have on most of my stories.)
So, please, if your gonna review my stories. Respect me and my life. I could be doing assignments, have writers block (that's half the reason I dont write anymore, but I TRY to write, but it's hard with it) and I could be sick. Any of these I could be doing at any point in time and a review to tell me to 'hurry up' just won't help. I have enough stress with school work enough as it is. You, the reviewers, should respect that as I am one too and you have a life too so you should know what school life is and how stressful it is. Also, next year I'm out of school. (Don't celebrate just yet.) I may have to find a full-time job or part-time job or even go to TAFE to start me off and that means ... I'll hardly have any time to be on here. So, if you think this year has been bad just wait til nex. But when I DO update don't ask me to update straight away, savour what I did and take the time to read it and appreciate the time I took out of my busy schedule to write something for you. I am a very busy girl. Realise what your saying before you say it. It hurts me. I have a lot of stress in my life. Don't ask me to update straight away if I can't.
VFMH OUT!
P.S. I am writing this to avoid any fights. I just want you guys to respect my life and when I write a chapter for you; appreciate that I was able to do that for you. Hope you guys get the idea after reading this ... or you hopefully AT LEAST read this so you know what I'm going through.
