DISCLAIMER: I Don't own HARRY POTTER or KUROSHITSUJI.
Did the last chapter leave you feeling a bit dissatisfied? Maybe as if it was missing some indescribable something? Well me too, but it couldn't be helped. That chapter mostly wrote itself, I just followed along. Besides, a majority of the text was borrowed from the book. Add to that that I didn't want to neglect the other characters that were basically just standing there doing nothing and the demons had their own thing going on separate from the wizards and the chapter being a bit of a drag was in escapable result.
Now there's going to be some stuff in THIS chapter that I'm sure some of you will think should have been included in the other one. The thing is, if I'd done that you'd all have a longer wait for an update. Anyhow it wasn't so bad and I know you all liked what happened to the Carrows. I know I did. I loved killing them off. Throwing the book at Alecto's head, stunning Amycus, dropping the two of them out the window.
If you REALLY think about it there was no good reason for the two of them to live except that the wizards (being the good guys) couldn't bring themselves to murder them. Luckily this is my story and there were demons present.

CHAPTER 15
.
.
"I can't believe you did that." said Cho, shocked and pale. "You killed him. Amycus was still alive and you just dropped him like it was nothing."
.
"Mr. Michaelis, was it?" McGonagall made it a statement, not a question. Her voice was rising from her stress and shock when she continued, "I don't know who you are, but we do not go around murdering people and tossing bodies out windows. This is a school not a charnel house. We do not do those sorts of things here."
.
"Madam, though this was not the proper time for introductions, my Master has made them and you have yet to give us your name." said Sebastian.
.
Drawing herself up to her full height, she replied, "I am Professor Minerva McGonagall, I teach Transfigurations and am the former Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts."
Her eyes slid, almost as if possessing their own will, toward the window, "Though with Alecto dead I suppose that makes me once more the Deputy Head of this school."
She turned a stern gaze back on to the butler, "I demand some explanations as to what you think you were doing and why you are in this school!"
.
"Really, Madam," said the blue-haired boy with the eye-patch, "Were you not listening to Harry's explanations and my introductions? Our identities and purpose have already been stated. I see no reason for us to repeat ourselves."
Ciel saw McGonagalls' clouding expression and chose to ignore it. Better that she understand at the start that he was not one to be talked down to or taken lightly.
"As to your concerns with Sebastian's disposal of the Carrows, you had best put them aside. A good servant anticipates the needs and wishes of his master. My butler only acted as was suitable for a servant of mine."
.
"But murder!" exclaimed MacGonagall, "How can that be suitable behavior?"
.
"Madam McGonagall. Even you must agree that those two were an eyesore. The world is a better place without them in it; and I saw that look in your eyes. You cannot deny that you are happy they are dead."
.
"Be that as it may, it still wasn't right." The old transformations teacher replied, "I've no doubt that Alecto Carrow attacked and her death was self-defense, but there is no such possible excuse for Amycus. I stunned him myself and he was very much alive when that man," she gestured toward Sebastian, "dropped him from the window."
.
Sebastian had been listening quietly to the exchange between his Master and the old teacher, completely ignoring Cho (who had paled, unused to seeing murder) and the other three young wizards. A test of wills and morals could be amusing, but in this it was pointless. The winner was a foregone conclusion in this case and the past was unchangeable.
"Madam," Sebastian interjected, "What else would you have done with the Carrows? Their leader had been summoned, one of them was dead, the other was knocked out by you. What other possible solution could there have been?"
.
McGonagall frowned at him.
"I'd find a place to hide Alecto's body so she could be given a proper burial later and then I would Obliviate Amycus so he would forget about what happened. When You-Know-Who arrives he could try explaining what happened and take whatever punishment he intended to push off on the children."
.
Ciel smirked, "Allow me to point out that Alecto's body is hidden and if it is found her death can be explained away as an accidental fall, should that even prove to be necessary. Certainly it wouldn't have been proper to leave it laying around for the students to later trip over. Also consider that they all saw her dead. If questioned as to her whereabouts I've no doubt that at least one of them would let slip her fate, particularly if the questioners were as uncaring of the children's well being as Amicus was of their health and life."
McGonagall frowned at the boy's attitude, but stayed silent. The look in her eyes told him that in this, she knew he was right.
"Let me also point out that Amycus, alive, would have been a problem regardless. As Harry has already said, we need to search the school to find what that Dark Idiots hid. The fewer of that incompetent's minion we have to deal with the better."
.
McGonagall could not believe how coldly this young boy spoke of dismissing the life of another. Just what sort of upbringing had he had to warp his personality so ruthlessly?
The transformations professor was not the only one to have such thoughts. Cho had only met Ciel roughly 30 minutes ago, but she'd heard him say enough now to get an idea of what sort of person he was. She'd known Harry for a few years now, even sort of dated him for a little while, and she knew him well enough to know that Ciel Phantomhive and his butler Sebastian Michaelis, were not the sort of people that he would have normally had anything to do with. The fact that they were working together could only mean that the situation was more serious than she'd thought it already could be.
.
"You should also consider," continued Ciel, "that we have no idea how long the search will last. If the enemy arrives before we are ready Amycus would be another weapon in Voldemort's arsenal. If we keep him indisposed until the matter has been settled he would go to trial for his crimes and be either executed or sent back to Azkaban Prison. A place that has already been shown to be less than secure since many of Voldemorts' closest followers were former inmates that recently escaped from there. Let us not forget that those repulsive dementors, creatures that clearly side with Voldemort in this civil war, were the ones put in charge as guardians of that prison."
The little Earl folded his arms, tilted his head up at McGonagall, and insolently said, "Personally, I wouldn't trust that anyone put in there couldn't just walk out any time they liked. Amycus is an unrepentant criminal that couldn't even see that the path he walked was wrong and I've no doubt that his sister was the same. It would be best for you to drop this issue. There are more pressing concerns to deal with at the moment."
.
"Ciel's right Professor," said Harry, finally joining the conversation, "I don't like it either, but he is right. You've got to accept reality. For better or worse the Carrows are dead, these two are here, and Voldemort's coming."
.
"Hey!" said Ciel heatedly, "Don't refer to us as 'these two.' You and your friends would be dead now if it weren't for me."
.
Harry and McGonagall ignored him. They both privately thought that he was a bit of an attention hog, even if the things he said were often annoyingly correct.
.
.
"Humph!"
.
.
"But… but Mr. Potter," said Minerva McGonagall, "What's to be done then about all this?"
.
"There's nothing to be done about the Carrow's right now. We can worry about that later. Right now Voldemort knows I'm here and I need to find what he hid here before he arrives."
.
McGonagall straightened up and looked directly onto the young wizards eyes.
"The smart thing for you to do, Mr. Potter, would be to escape while you can instead of going on some scavenger hunt through the school. However, as this seems important, I'll do whatever I can to help. What do you need?"
.
"Professor," said Harry, "Buy me some time. That's all I need."
.
"Is this it, then, Potter?" asked Professor McGonagall, hope and restrained excitement entering her voice. "Is it finally time?"
.
Harry took a deep breath, and then slowly let it out. He knew what she was really asking: Are you going to full fill the prophecy? Are you going to fight Voldemort and save us all? Are you ready to do this? Can you win? He would have rather faced a rampaging dragon (and he had in fact once done that) than give the answer McGonagall wanted to hear, it was because saying it out loud would make his destiny feel so much more frighteningly real.
"The time is coming, Professor, and I have to do this to be ready."
.
"Then Potter," said McGonagall, "I will gather the other teachers and make ready."
.
Just then the sound of a deep tolling bell rang out through Hogwarts, waking the students and summoning the teachers. Once, twice, thrice it sounded. The new Headmaster, Severus Snape, was calling an assembly.
.
"Yes, Professor, It's time to make ready."
.
.
.

.
.
Well I did it. I managed to make an update before any of the upcoming holidays arrived.
Do you love cliff-hanger endings? *chuckles* Sometimes I'm just so evil. *grins*
Short as it was, I hope you all liked this chapter. I've noticed that the less I borrow from the book or use my own words the more "life" my writing has.
Well, moving on.
All of you have a great day, night, and/or twilight.
(Side Note: I really REALLY hated the TWLIGHT books and movies. Them and me, we don't get along. L.J. Smith's VAMPIRE DIARIES and NIGHT WORLD series is SO much better.)
Please Review!
