It has been a very long while since we have updated or posted anything on this site and we apologize to anyone who has been following our works with high expectations but receiving very little in return.
We do have valid reasons as to not continuing with our update schedule, but first we would like to share with you all our story…
Five years ago, TheGlitchInTheMatrix became a new member to a writing forum that no longer exists. At the time of our birth, there were only two writers behind the name, responsible for the many things that were published under that pen name.
A year later, we assimilated a third writer and our popularity began rocketing away. We published four original stories, five fan fictions, nine short stories, about twenty one-pagers, and an untold amount of journals, philosophies, quotes, epiphanies, and blogs.
TheGlitchInTheMatrix was fifteen-thousand followers strong!
So many other writers and followers asked to be a part of our group, unknowing of the already multiple people in our group. We swore that that we would remain as only the original trinity of writers and to not accept any propositions for additional members.
However, there were three particularly devoted followers with skills that we deemed very redemptive and thus assimilated them into TheGlitchInTheMatrix.
Originally, there were two: Architect and Glitch.
A year later, Codex made our ranks.
Two years after birth, Binary, Author, and Insync were proudly standing as the newly assembled "Components" of TheGlitchInTheMatrix.
Our popularity continued growing, and with it, our egos. We lost ourselves in the limelight and tried to expand to other forums and allowed even more people to join The Components.
We created accounts for FFnet and DeviantART, copied our completed works over to the new forums, and let our new Components—Variable, One, Matrix, Zero—begin their own projects or proofread whatever required it.
Then, the forum that we originated on was shut down. The URL lease had expired, and with it, an unknown amount of our work went with it. Four Components, more interested in being affiliated to those who were semi-famous, abandoned us.
TheGlitchInTheMatrix received its first devastating blow.
A year had passed by, with us struggling to keep our heads up, trudging through our update schedules. Some of our work had started to be rediscovered and we grew hopeful that we could once again regain our old status.
But it was then that we received our second devastating blow…
Three more members defected and we were back down to our original three Components. Suddenly, we forgot how to run by ourselves, forgot what it was like to rely on each other for editing and proofing and brainstorming. Our ideas seemed to lose their luster, and it seemed like our group was on a one-way trip to dissolution.
Then a glimmer of light kept the dying fire alive when three more people urged us to continue and showed us an undying devoutness that we had forgotten.
Firewall, Port, and Sequence—current Components of TheGlitchInTheMatrix, showed us the reason we started writing in the first place.
Not for fame and glory but to spread our minds out for everyone to take part in experiencing.
Things had finally started looking up and our group made a small comeback to the writing world…
…and then came the Third and Final devastating blow.
The mastermind, the original Glitch, and our dearest friend who took on the mantle of TheGlitchInTheMatrix suddenly made our old Component, Codex, the new leader with the name Glitch, and made Architect the main developer. Later on, we learned why the two received such an unexpected promotion and then never heard from the original Glitch after that.
Chrysanthemum "Chryssi" Jordans, after an eight year struggle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, had passed away.
Our hearts were heavy, and we let TheGlitchInTheMatix go unattended, the DeviantART was shut down by a family member of Chryssi's after the her work was pulled down and saved, and our update schedule for FFnet was abandoned entirely.
However, we just received her last wish in her Will…
…she does not want TheGlitchInTheMatrix to die with her!
She wished for us to continue writing, to continue on with her legacy of the pen name, and continue we will.
For all those who stayed with us until the very end, we thank you for never giving up and keeping your faith in us.
Updates will continue and our new DeviantART (not the GllitchyMatricks original) at TheGlitchInTheMatrix will expand with our more visual sides along with our original work.
They will not be immediate, but you can now expect updates soon! Once again, we apologize for leaving you, we apologize for the near disrespect for our friend, and we look forward to your comments and reviews!
Thank You!
