Chapter 19 - Aftermath

Kat's POV - 30th December

"Hey I got your- whoa, why are you freaking out?" Maddy asked as she walked into my room,

"I did something, something bad, and it wasnt good, I mean it was good, it was very good, but doing it was bad." I rambled, and carried on until something, precisely a hand hit me across the face and I opened my mouth in shock,

"Calm the hell down Kat, and tell me what you did that was so bad," She said and I rubbed my cheek,

"Okay, well I've been freaking out for days now, you see, after dinner on christmas day, me and Ryland went out by the pool for a bit, and we were talking and well um, next thing I know, um.." I trailored,

"Spill it Kat.." She said,

"We kissed," I said and she looked at me,

"I really dont know how to respond to that, you guys, kissed, but how, I mean, your with Jerome, and he's with Britany," She said and I nodded,

"I know, thats why I'm freaking out right now," I said falling back on my bed,

"Okay relax, I mean, It didn't mean anything, did it?" She asked me, and I sat up.

"I don't know, maybe, I'm not that sure, all I know is, for some reason, I Really want to kiss him again," I said sighing and she nodded,

"Okay, I think, you need to talk to Ryland about this, and then talk to Jerome about it, because if you and Ryland do feel something for each other, you cant carried on stringing Jerome along if you have feeling for someone else," She said and I sighed,

Poppy's POV

"Pops, the movers are done," Niall said walking into my bed- old bedroom at my parents house, I'm taking all my clothes, shoes, ect as well as my dvds, cds, books everything of mine, except my bed & tv, me & Niall decided that we're gonna buy a ton of new furniture, and then decide what we were gonna do with the spare room, soon to be baby room when we find out what the gender is next month,

"Okay," I said picking up my hand bag sighing as I looked around the room,

"You okay?" He asked wrapping his arms around my waist,

"Yeah, its just, I'm glad that we're moving in together, its just, I've lived here all my life, it's just weird to be moving out, not having the comfort of coming home to the safety of my parents, having my dinner cooked and ready for me," I said leaning my head against his shoulder,

"I get it, trust me, I felt the same thing when I moved out of my parents house," He said and walked round to face my front, "But Poppy I promise, I'm gonna do everything I can, for the rest of my life to protect you & our baby, your the most important people in the entier world to me, I swear I will never let something bad happen to you, ever, I know your scared, but I promise, I will do everything to make sure you never regret agreeing to move in with me, and agreeing to be my wife, and the mother of my child," He said and I smiled putting my hands around his neck and he kissed me softly, "Come on," He said grabbing my hand and pulling me out the room.

Ryland's POV

"Ryland, someone's here to see you!" Mum yelled just after Poppy left, I was about to get up when Kat walked into my room, and closed the door.

"Oh hey," I said awkwardly as she stood by my door,

"Hey," She said,

"Whats up?" I asked,

"I wanted to talk to you, about what happened on Christmas Day, I've been avoiding talking about it ever since, but I cant keep ignoring it," She said and I was about to say something when she cut me off, "No, please, just listen to what I have to say first," She said and I nodded, "Right, ever since that kiss I've been ignoring talking to you or to Jerome or to anyone, because I really dont know what to do, but what I do know is that I cant stop thinking about that kiss, everything I do, I just think about how soft your lips are and how good they feel and how amazing that kiss was and how I more than anything want to do it again, and I know thats wrong because you have a girlfriend and I love Brit, she's one of my closest friends and I have a boyfriend, and Jerome is amazing and I thought I really liked him but after that kiss I just dont feel the same about him anymore," She said and took a deep breath, refusing to look me in the eye, and I couldnt even find anything to say, "Please say something before I think I've made a massive mistake telling you this,"

"Kat, I honestly don't know what to say, but what I do know what to say is, I Broke up with Britany on boxing day," I said and she looked at me,

"What? Why?" She asked,

"Isnt it obvious, after that kiss I realise I didnt feel the same way about her anymore, so, I broke up with her, I'm pretty sure she hates me due to the fact I broke up with her the day after Christmas, but I had to do it, It didnt seem right stringing her along when I had feeling for someone else," I said and she stared at me,

"What do you mean? Have feelings for someone else?" She asked, and I smiled as I stood up walking over to her,

"I mean exactly that," I said and grabbed her hands, "I have feelings for you Kat, to be honest I always have," I added,

"What?" She asked tilting her ehad to the side in confusion,

"I've had a crush on you since we were 10, but when you started dating that guy, Adam when we were 14, I figured that you'd never have feelings for me, so I started dating other people to get over you, but It never worked, my feelings for you didnt go away, they just got stronger," I said and she smiled blushing,

"So, why did you start dating Britany then?" She asked,

"Because you were dating Jonathan, when you two broke up, I was hoping that maybe something could finally happen between us, but then you started dating Jerome," I said and she nodded,

"I guess, I never really did think of you as anything more than just a friend to me before, you were always just Ryland, the boy I grew up with, I gues I never realised that my feelings for you were more than platonic until that kiss, thats when I realised I've had feelings for you for a while now," She explained and I smiled leaning in to kiss her, but she put her finger on my lips, "But we cant," She said and I stared at her in confusion, "I mean, not until I talk to Jerome, I can't cheat on him again, it's not fair, I need to talk to him first, he deserves that doesnt he?" She said and I sighed, "He's on vacation with his family,"

"When does he get back?" I asked,

"Midday on new years eve," She said and I sighed, "Atleast we'll get to start the new years together," She said,

"I know, its just I've waited so long to be able to kiss you, another 2 days might just kill me," I said and she smiled,

"You'll live, I promise, anyway, I should get home before my parents start worrying, I'll see you," She said kissing my cheek and walking out, I sighed laying down on my bed smiling,
