VIII - Troubles II
Three days ago
Furihata was having a hard time tried not to jerk every time Akashi shifted or his ears or tail moved. Sleeping with Akashi using him as a pillow was not something easy to adapt to.
Yes, Akashi used him as a pillow.
That meant, yes, Furihata and Akashi were sleeping together.
Furihata didn't know how he ended up here. He remembered that he came in his room and saw Akashi walking around, ears and tail flipped as he walked. He remembered himself saying that he's going to find a spare mattress. Then Akashi just shook his head and said that Furihata's bed was big enough for them both.
And what Furihata knew next was he laying on his bed with Akashi beside him. The red head yawned and thanked him for his help before he rested his head on Furihata's chest.
So Furihata ended up with himself laying on his back and Akashi using his chest as a pillow. Akashi arms held securely around his waist.
Furihata didn't know when he fell asleep, but Akashi knew.
Akashi laid still on his side, listened to a rapid heartbeat with a smile on his lips. He waited until the heartbeat was back to normal then he raised his head up. Akashi stared down at a peaceful face of the boy in front of him. Furihata Kouki maybe the plainest guy in others' opinions, but Akashi saw him as a very special person.
Among people that caught his interest, Furihata was the only person that didn't have anything special.
His ex-teammates and his Rakuzan friends had their extraordinary talents and skills, some also had extraordinary looks or personalities liked Daiki's skin color, Shintaro's hair color, Atsushi's love of sweet and snack etc.
Furihata was totally a very ordinary plain guys and a very ordinary basketball player. But what had caught Akashi's eyes was his heart.
Akashi could read a ordinary person in a swift breath if he wanted to. He read Furihata in a swift breath since the last time they met. But Furihata kept surprising him by his hidden courage that would come to him sometimes and left him most of the time. Akashi saw it when they had met, he saw fear in those eyes but Furihata still stood before him. He still stood on the court and charged at him even when his legs were shaking by Akashi's intimidated aura.
Akashi was fascinated. He decided that he wanted to know more about this plain guy. It might sound weird to others ears, but Akashi wouldn't say no if anyone would ask him if Furihata was cute.
Akashi would say, everything about Furihata Kouki was the cutest things he had never seen.
And, of cause, if anyone would ask.
In the morning, Furihata woke up and found that Akashi was still sleeping. After laying still for minutes, Furihata gulped and sighed. He must be crazy to think of such a thing.
He just wondering that would Akashi's hair and ears were soft liked what he had thought?
After minutes of fighting with himself, in the end, Furihata screwed his eyes shut and brought his hand to touch the mob of hair on the other's head.
'It's so soft!'
Furihata thought while he touched Akashi's hair gently.
'And the ears, oh, softer than they look, maybe being fluffy could add to being softer. Oh, they flip...'
'Flip?!'
"Good morning Kouki and what are you doing?"
Furihata opened his eyes to face the emotionless eyes staring at him.
"Wa!"
Furihata didn't know how he survive from Akashi. After his stupidest decision of touching other's head, Furihata found himself apologizing and bowling again and again to the kid that sat calmly on his bed. However, Akashi just asked softly if he had a spare clothes. And when Furihata said yes, Akashi just nodded and asked to use the shower first. Furihata only nodded rapidly and sent him to shower with everything he needed such as his spare clothes, towel etc. And he was still bowling and apologizing when Akashi went to the bathroom, so he missed a small smile that tucked on Akashi's lips.
After that, Akashi asked to use his phone. Furihata immediately gave it to him. The red head dialed the number and spoke with his calm voice, telling the person at the end of the line where he was. After that Akashi hung up and deleted the phone number from the record.
"I appreciated your kindness." Akashi said to him after he had handed Furihata his cellphone. "You're very interesting."
"Not that interesting..." Furihata scratched the back of his head nervously. "Are...are you mad with me?"
"I don't see how I should be mad with you Kouki."
"Ummm..." Furihata was fidgeting now. "I...I touched your hair and ears...aren't you angry?"
"Oh...about that." Akashi smirked. "You are too kind and innocent to have a purpose more than 'curiosity' to touch me. Don't worry, I'm not mad with you. Just tell me first if you want to touch."
"Ummm...thank you"
Furihata felt like lifting a mountain from his chest. After that Akashi suggested him taking a shower since Furihata had school to go in half and an hour. After Furihata walked out of the shower, there was a very expensive car parking in front of his house. Furihata went down stair to see Akashi was about to open the front door.
"I have to go now." Akashi said to him before he walked out. "Thank you for everything Kouki. I'll see you soon, take care."
And with that, Akashi walked out to the car which its door was opened for him. The red head stepped in and the driver who was waiting patiently and calmly shut the door and went to the driver seat. After that, the car was drove out of his sight.
Furihata sighed in relief, but he couldn't feel as relieve as he should. Something kept telling him that he would meet Akashi again soon.
Back to present
Akashi's house in Kyoto
"Are you ready?"
Ichirō, father of Akashi Seijurō, said slowly. His son turned to him, no emotion was showed, his ears flipped a bit but nothing more.
"I'm always ready." Akashi said to his father before he walked passed him to the door. Both Akashi walked out of the room to the stair that led them down to the basement.
Two servants stood waiting for them at the basement door.
"Leave us"
Ichirō said. The servants bowled and walked up stair. Akashi watched his father pushed the door and followed. The room was dark but his ears picked up a whimper. His father switched the light on and Akashi smirked.
The room was clean and plain, left only one green hair man laid on the floor at the end of the room. His hands were chained together.
"Oh, hi Ichirō" Midorima Kenji smiled. "I should have known he is your son."
Ichirō just sighed and turned to his son.
"Remember your promise Seijurō, no bloodshed."
"I know." Akashi just smiled, dangerously. Ichirō nodded and walked out of the room, leaving his old friend at the mercy of his son. Akashi waited until his father was out of the room before he flashed Kenji a smile.
"Greeting "
Back to the Camp
Shirogane was with some of the Rakuzan players that were jogging around the town when Mibuchi called. After he listened to the situation Mibuchi explained, Shirogane ordered the students that were jogging to go back to the hotel immediately while he hurried to the mountain park where the rest of his team, Nakatani and the Shūtoku players were.
In the mountain park the cellphone signals were horrible, so Shirogane hurried to the entrance his team choose. He met some of the Rakuzan players that were resting and checking their rounds there. Shirogane ordered them to go back to the hotel immediately, left only four of them with him.
Shirogane separated them into two teams. Two of them would waited at the entrance to tell the Rakuzan players that ran down to get back to the hotel. The another would go with him to tell the Shūtoku about the yakuzas.
Nakatani was taking care of the one of the 1st years' leg when he heard Shirogane's voice calling for him.
All the Shūtoku players were there with Nakatani (excepted for Miyaji and Midorima) when Shirogane showed up with two of his team.
"I went to the entrance you choose and found nobody there." Shirogane spoke. "Guess you must be up here with your team."
"I think I left two students of my team there." Nakatani said. "And what brings you up here? I've heard that you're jogging with your team around the town."
"There're Yakuzas wandering around the town." Shirogane said. "I come to get all of us back to the hotel. It's not safe here. Some people in the town also mentioned that 20 years ago, this park was something of a playground at night and the base of some yakuzas until the polices arrested them 20 years ago. Lets go, I will explain along the way."
"Wait, I left two of my students at the entrance." Nakatani said. "I have a bad feeling when you said you didn't spot them."
"I guess, the...kids?"
"Yes"
Nakatani nodded and ordered Takao and Kimura, along with two 2nd years to go get Miyaji and Midorima. He ordered that they all must went back to the hotel immediately when they found them. After that they spread up. Nakatani with the rest of his team went back with the Rakuzan while the other four Shūtokus went to find their teammates.
Midorima and Miyaji had been walking up the mountain for minutes. They started to feel tired. Normally they wouldn't feel tried this early, but they were in children bodies, which had less strength than teenagers or adults.
"How do far we have to go?"
Miyaji muttered while he stumbled on a tree root with a grunt. Midorima was thinking the same thing but he didn't say it out loud. They both kept their ears open [but the ears were still in the hood, they couldn't risk have anyone saw them] and listened to everything they could listen. They couldn't risk being spotted by them.
However, it seemed that today was not their day. After another 5 minutes, they heard voices of those gangsters coming up the mountain. Midorima and Miyaji both turned pale before they started to run. They both ran up the path, only to stumble on the root. Miyaji stumbled again and landed face first into the dirt in front of him. He grunted and tried to get up, only to fall of the path and rolled down several meters into the wood.
"Sempai!"
Midorima hurried after him as fast as he could. But with his small body, Midorima still had to slowly walk down while holding onto the trees and bushes around him.
In the end, Midorima made himself into a small clearing that was once a path of this mountain park. The path was abandoned and was covered with inches of old leaves. Miyaji was sitting in the middle of the path. His knees were scratched by rock and trees on the way. They're bleeding. His elbows were scratched too but not bleeding as bad as his knees.
"Are you alright?"
Midorima asked, helping his senior to get up again.
"I'm ok, just little scratches." Miyaji grunted. "Let get out of here."
As Midorima about to ask if Miyaji was able to climb back to their old path, they heard voices, along with footsteps.
"They better be here in 10 minutes, or I'll definitely cheat!"
"Calm down Shouta! At least those drugs are still where they should be. I'm gladded our old base was still in one piece the last time we saw it."
"Shut up Takahiro!"
"I have a bad feeling about this."
Miyaji said. Midorima nodded in agreement before they both ran up the way they had gone down.
When Midorima and Miyaji reached the spot Miyaji had fell off. They both were panting heavily. Miyaji grunted between each pant, trying to reduce the pain on his knees and his elbows. But they couldn't rest for long, hearing the voices of those gangsters they had seen before coming closer and closer.
"Fuck...I can't...run..." Miyaji panted while he and Midorima started their way up the path. "...fuck..."
"Let me help you"
Midorima immediately put Miyaji's arm over his shoulder to support his senpai. They could walk for only five minutes before Miyaji collapsed again, nearly brought Midorima down with him. He grunted in pain while Midorima looked around in panic. The voices were closer and closer, seemed liked the gangsters they saw before had already merged with the two they had heard on the old path. They're talking about drugs and where they should started their sex-slave business again.
With adrenaline rushing in their blood, Miyaji and Midorima started running again. They ran until the path came to the first cross and kept running on their path. They turned and stumbled on the root again and they both fell down the path, rolling down to the path 10 meters below.
"Och!"
"Fuck!"
Both Midorima and Miyaji hissed in pain when they both rolled into an opening. They both got up their only to see that they're on another old path of the park. 10 Meters away ahead of them stood two men, carrying boxes.
"What have we got here?"
A low, molesting voice sneered from the man on the left while the man on the right put boxes he was carrying down. Midorima and Miyaji started to back away, they remembered the tattoo on their arms, the same as gangsters they had saw before. The two gangsters strted talking to each other while watching them backing away. Normally, Midorima and Miyaji wouldn't hear their conversation from this distance, but with their sensitive ears, they did. And they're terrified by it.
"Children" The right man said. "Pretty, did Shouta mention about start our 'business' again?"
"He says after we've sold those drugs." The man on the left said. "But..a little early wouldn't hurt. We couldn't afford anyone see us carrying this anyway."
Miyaji and Midorima didn't wait to hear more, they both ran up the way they fell down. They didn't care the shouts and the footsteps that followed them. All they wanted was to reach the path they had fallen off.
When they reached it, they had run into the gangsters that made they fled madly before. Both Miyaji and Midorima didn't wait, they fled. Both tried to run as fast as they could.
Those gangsters were still surprised from Midorima and Miyaji's suddenly appearing and fleeing, until they heard their friends shouting for them to catch the two children. The gangsters started running after them, shouting for them to stop.
"Shit!"
Miyaji and Midorima were running as fast as they could. Those gangsters were coming nearer and nearer. Miyaji knew that they couldn't escape them, they both would be capture.
"Fuck!"
Miyaji grunted before he did what he thought would be the best thing to do now. H waited until they the path turned left that the angle would cover them from those gangsters' eyes for seconds.
"When you can stand, run like there's no tomorrow!"
He hissed to Midorima before he pushed the other off the path. The green head shooter fell off with shock before he disappeared off his sight, rolling down to the soft ground covered with dead leaves below. Miyaji sighed that at least, Midorima would be safe from those gangsters.
And as he thought about that, a hand grabbed him and yanked him back. Miyaji felt himself landed on his back. He blinked in pain, and found himself being circled by yakuzas.
Midorima rolled down the path until he was on a ground covered with dead leaves. He looked around with fear. Miyaji had saved him. But those gangsters would come for him definitely, he must found his team.
Midorima started walking, trying to find the path of the park. After walking for a while, he came to a path that had been occupied by no one. The green head sighed in relief that he didn't see anyone. He kept his ears open, listening to every sound he heard.
After ten minutes, he heard Takao and his teammates' voices, calling for him and Miyaji. Midorima felt relief washed over him. He shouted Takao's name at the top of his lungs.
Hayama was having a feeling that something might happen, something ver bad. He kept jogging around the gym, tried to calm himself down. His father had told him how cruel those gangsters were. Many victims that were saved from their brothels had to take therapies for months, not including their physical wounds. Hayama tried not to image the worst thing that might happen to Miyaji and his friends if they're caught by them.
"They're back!"
Mibuchi shouted from somewhere and he hurried to his girly face teammate. They both went to greet their teammates and the Shutokus, only to find that some of the Shutoku players were missing.
"Where is Miyaji-san?"
Hayama immediately exclaimed.
"They're coming." Ootsubo who was carrying one of the injured teammates said, nervous shown in his voice. "Coach sends Takao and others to get them."
Hayama nodded but a bad feeling already grew to worse. He left them to jog aroubd the hotel, telling himself that there's nothing to worry. They would be back soon. He was going to the third round around the hotel when he spotted Takao and other Shutoku players coming, actually running, this way. Hayama smiled, he's nearly calling to them when he spotted that Miyaji wasn't with them. Hayama blinked, he looked again and he froze.
Takao was carrying Midorima, his face was dark with rage, fear and anger. Midorima's eyes were shut, he had scratches covered his arms, face and legs. Kimura was running beside Takao, his face was full with worry and fear. The other Shutokus' expression weren't different from them much.
"Don't tell me, please don't..."
Hayama said to himself before he ran to meet them.
"Where is Miyaji-san?"
He asked, afraid of what he might hear.
"Those junks have him."
Kimura grunted with rage while Takao running passed him, carried an unconscious Midorima to their coach. Hayama was frozen in place. He inhaled sharply, many emotions rushed in his mind.
Hayama turned to watch the Shutokus that were running to the hotel before he turned to the way they came. He put the hood of the shirt he was wearing up.
Hayama grunted and took off, running to the mountain.
