Hello! Now this really wasn't supposed to be a two-shot but I was hit inspiration again and People wanted a two-shot, so here it is! Hope you enjoy and don't forget to leave your lovely comments before you go: 3
(FYI- this takes place in the "other life")
Disclaimer-I do not own Ninjago -.-
People have always said "You don't get second chances." Well, what if they're wrong?
"Yo COLE! WAKE UP MAN!"
Before I knew it, was roughly shoved off my bed, and the hard wooden-floor met my face.
I groaned. It's too early for this.
"Jake, what the hell man!?" I demanded with gritted teeth. I could barely open my eyes once the (irritating) bright sunlight hit my face. I lay sprawled on the floor in only my boxers, besides the blanket that was wrapped around my torso. Without looking, I reached over to the cabinet, and tried looking for my IPhone. Once I had it my hand, the bright numbers read: 8:45
Shit.
My roommate stared at me by the door. "I woke up like thirty minutes ago, but you wouldn't wake up. You're lucky I woke you up at all."
I glared at him. "Yeah, I'm so lucky to have a roommate who knocks me out of my own bed to wake me up."
The annoying brunette only shrugged with his backpack slung over his shoulder.
"Just get ready man," Jake said. "We're late enough for class as it is, in fact, I'm leaving now. Oh, I think we have a new girl coming to our school today. Anyway, catch ya later Cole," he said, picking up his skateboard and closing the door behind him.
Siting up with a sigh, I looked at my room. Clothes were dumped all over the floor, and many of the trash did not even make it to the trash bin. Best part- most of that isn't even mine.
What did I do to deserve such a great roommate?
Throwing open my closet (which looked so good compared to Jake's) I grabbed a pair of comfortable jeans, and a black sweat shirt. I didn't have time to brush my hair, so leaving it tousled- I grabbed my backpack and earphones to leave.

Walking in the hallway of my school, I just set my earphones on and tuned my music on high volume.
"COLE!" a high-pitched voice yelled.
I grunted. Amy. She was a cheer-leader in our school, and very popular. She had it all; the money, the looks, the perky attitude, and the guys…well all the guys but me.
She ran up to me with a huge smile that almost seemed abnormal. "Hi Cole!"
"What do you want Amy?" Now I really don't want to be rude to her…but she is very annoying and practically stalks me almost every day. Probably thinks I'm playing hard-to-get or whatever since I am the only guy who doesn't drool when she walked by.
The (not really) red-head just hums and taps her manicured fingernails against her chest, and pretending she's thought…probably trying to look cute (which she is failing at).
"Weeelll, My eighteenth birthday is coming up, and I am personally inviting you to come." She presents a glittery paper to me that has the information to her party, but I don't even read, and automatically turn her down.
"Sorry, I'm busy that day," I lie smoothly.
She pouts. "Aw Cole! Come on!" She gets so close to me that her body is practically squished up against mine, and she sets her finger on my chest. Her long dyed red hair covers my mouth. "It'll be fun. And besides…" she leans towards my ear, and her heavy scent of perfume invades my nostrils. "I really want you to be there…"
Scowling, I move away from her roughly. "I said no, Amy. I have to get to class now."
She frowns. "Fine, but I know you'll come around eventually. Till then, toodles!" She winks at me, before walking away while swaying her hips.
I shake my head. Clueless girl. Looking at my watch I groaned in frustration.
I am so dead by the time I reach my class.
Jake is so dead by the time we get back to our dorms and-
I was suddenly jolted out of my thoughts when I collided with something, or someone. By instinct, my hands reached out to grab who or what I collided into, and when I opened my eyes I found that I collided with a person, and I grabbed…her? Finally looking down, my hands had grabbed both her arms that were holding books, and I had fortunately saved her from falling.
Now if this were normal circumstances I would have mumbled a "sorry" and walked off, but this wasn't. By the time I saw her face I knew this wasn't normal circumstances. When she looked up I saw her short black hair that reached just past her shoulders, she had fair skin with slightly pink cheeks, and plump pink lips, and her eyes were warm and brown.
Beautiful.
And for some reason she looked familiar.
Shyly, she mumbled, "S-Sorry, I was in a rush. I didn't see where I was going."
She was so cute. I chuckled. "It's fine." I released her, and she looked down at the floor, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She was only about at my neck level, and she wore a red button-down shirt with denim jeans, along with red-sandals. She carried about two books in her arms that looked like those expensive school-books.
"Are you new here?" I asked.
She nodded. "Y-Yeah, I just moved here with my brother, but he's home sick today. I kinda am lost here…do you think you can help me?"
I smiled at her. "Course, I'm Cole by the way."
"Nya," she replied. Though I couldn't help but feel that I somehow knew that…maybe I just need to catch up on some sleep.
She showed me her schedule. Her class was upstairs and down the hall, pretty far from mine.
"I know where that class is," I said. I motioned her to follow me. "Come on."
She followed quietly behind me.
I bet my teacher wouldn't mind waiting a little while longer.
Once we reached her class she uttered a quiet, "Thank you."
Once she turned, my mouth opened before I could stop it, and I said, "How about we get some coffee later?
Looking back, she blushed and said, "Sure."
We went to a nearby coffee shop after our classes, and sat at a table near the window.
"I'm glad my brother doesn't know about this," she giggled. "My brother would kill you. He is very over-protective." She sipped her coffee.
I chuckled in response. "I think I could hold my own against him."
When I saw her giggle again I couldn't help but stare. She must have saw me because she stopped giggling, and gave me a shy look.
"What?" she asked. "Is there something on my face?"
I gave her a side-smile. "Actually, yes." I reached over, and cupped her chin, then my thumb brushed under her right eyes ever so softly to rid of the stray eyelash. Her face reddened even more, and that is when I removed my hand.
"T-Thank you," she said.
I shrugged. "No big deal." I felt my phone vibrate, and knowing it was a text from Jake I ignored it.
"Hey Nya," I said. "Have we- Have we met before?"
She blinked. Then taking a few moments to think she shook her head. "No, I don't think so, I would have remembered if we did. Why?"
"I don't know. I guess you… reminded me of someone I know." When actually she looks like nobody I know…I think.
She smiled. "Ok then."
"So tell me about yourself, Nya."
"Well, I'm studying to be an engineer."
"Really? I would probably be one of the few females," I said with a chuckle. "But that's cool."
She smiled again, and rested her chin on her palm while she stared out at the window. "Yeah I guess…but that's fine. I've always had a passion for building, designing, and working with my hands."
"Well that's-"
"Oh COLE! There you are!"
My eye twitches.
You have GOT to be kidding me.
Amy runs toward our table.
"I was looking all over for you! Have you changed your mind for my offer yet?" she asks. Her friends follow behind her, giving me a flirtatious smile.
Nya shyly moves back a bit.
I sighed. "No I haven't. I still am busy, and I can't change my schedule, its important."
And yet, she persists. "But-"
"Can you excuse us now?" I ask.
She looks over at Nya, and I see her throw Nya a glare.
"Oh, who is this Cole?" she asks, spitting out the word 'this' as if it were poison in her mouth. "Tell me you're not going to my party because of her."
Before Nya could open her mouth, I cut in.
"None of your business. Now leave Amy."
Amy throws Nya one last glare before huffing, and leaving- her friends following behind her.
"I think someone just made me her enemy," Nya chuckled nervously.
I shook my head. "Don't worry, I won't let her do anything to you."
Sure they say you get only one chance at life…
Nya grinned. "I can protect myself, Cole. Don't worry."
That's why you have to make your reality everything you want it to be but still…
"Sure, but just to be safe, I'll just be around."
When she and I let out a laugh, I knew this was a start of a new friendship…maybe something more.
Life was kind enough to give us another chance.
