ANNABETH'S P.O.V.
I got up to leave but Athena held up a hand, and motioned for me to sit down.
I frowned and reluctantly sat back down.
Athena walked over to my desk. She crossed her arms over her chest and pursed her lips tightly.
I swallowed. Athena started tapping her hand against my desk. I shifted uncomfortably, still holding onto my bag.
"Um, why did you want me to stay back?" I asked, my voice cracking at the end.
My mum could be quite intimidating when she wanted to be.
Athena continued to stare at me blankly. I could see a hundred thoughts were running through her mind. She stopped tapping.
"You really don't know why you're here?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. I slowly shook my head.
I saw a muscle jump in her jaw. "Follow me." Athena walked briskly down the empty hall way. I jogged to keep up with her.
"Mum could you please tell me what happened?" I asked impatiently. "Wait" was all she said.
She turned left into another classroom, me tagging behind her.
The room's walls were covered with an underwater wallpaper displaying the anatomy of different species of fish and whales.
There was a slight fishy smell in the air due to the numerous tanks that filled the room, and clean silver benches lined the room in pairs of two.
At the front of the room behind a large oak desk sat Poseidon. He looked up at Athena and scratched the back of his head.
Just like Percy. "Athena?" "Where is Percy?" She asked, through gritted teeth. Poseidon sighed. "Obviously not here."
"Poseidon" hissed Athena. Poseidon leaned back in his chair, and folded his arms behind his head. "Athena, I don't know where Percy is."
Athena narrowed her eyes. "You're lying." Poseidon shrugged. "No I'm not." Athena growled.
"I'm assuming that either, you don't care, or you don't know what's going on with Annabeth and Percy."
I sighed loudly. "Hello, anyone mind telling me what's going on?"
PIPER'S P.O.V.
"Piper" I turned around and scanned the hall, searching for the person who'd yelled out my name.
I gasped as I saw my mum weaving her way through the clusters of students. Her perfectly curled blonde hair bounced up and down as she walked.
She was wearing a silk blue dress, its satin folds hugged her figure following her curves and the deep blue looked gorgeous against her skin.
The halter neck was embroided with miniature dark flowers and finished, with jet black lace to match her stilettoes, and its light skirt flowed out above her knees showing of her toned legs.
I pretended not to have heard her and ducked into the nearest classroom.
"Hey Pipes." I turned around and cringed. "Jason? What are you doing here?" He gave me a funny look.
"Waiting for the bell to ring, what are you doing here? Couldn't stay away from me?" He slung his arm around my shoulder and I leaned into him, "whatever Grace."
"Piper, there you, are I've been…" I turned around and saw Aphrodite standing in the doorway of the classroom staring at me. Her face broke out into a smile.
"Who's this?" "Who's who?" I asked, even though I knew who she was talking about. Aphrodite rolled her eyes.
"The boy standing next to you, is he your boyfriend?" I laughed. "No." "No?" Jason was looking at me quizzically.
I smiled at him tightly. My mum stared at me, confused. "Well it definitely looked like he was your boyfriend."
"No, we're just really good friends." Aphrodite nodded. "Oh, I understand." She clearly didn't. "Oh well, class is about to start. I need to get going."
She made a show of checking her watch. "By the way, I didn't catch your name." Jason opened his mouth to answer but I dragged him away before he could.
PERCY'S P.O.V.
I was in the office, waiting for Luke when I heard a message come over the intercom. "Could Percy Jackson come to the Marine Biology room A.S.A.P."
It sounded like my dad. I slung my bag across my shoulder and made my way towards the marine biology room.
I knocked on the door before opening it, and froze. I had not expected to see Athena and Annabeth there as well.
Annabeth's face displayed my thoughts. What was going on? "Dad, you called?" Poseidon nodded gravely.
"Percy, I never expected you to keep something so big from me. Does your mother know?"
"Know what?" Athena snorted. "As if you don't know." "Athena." Warned Poseidon. "I honestly don't know what you're talking about."
Poseidon sighed. "Athena, are you sure this is true?" "What do you mean?" asked Athena tightly. "How do you know they were telling the truth?"
"Well, they were because…" Athena faltered. "What are you guys talking about?" I cut in. Athena looked down, embarrassed.
"Someone told Athena that you and Annabeth um..." Poseidon cleared his throat and shifted uncomfortably. I raised an eyebrow. "Me and Annabeth what?"
Athena looked up suddenly furious. "Travis and Connor, those two no-good sons of Hermes told me that Annabeth was pregnant."
I felt my face go hot. "Wait, you two actually thought that me…and…Annabeth…would?" Athena had the decency to look ashamed.
"I underestimated you Percy." Hell yeah you did. "And I would like to apologize for that." Yeah, right.
"Wait, HOW COULD YOU EVER THINK THAT ME AND PERCY…" Yelled Annabeth. Her face was contorted into a look of pure anger.
"IF I SEE THOSE TWO I SWEAR TO GOD THAT I WILL RIP THEIR HEADS OFF AND SEND THEM A ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL."
JASON'S P.O.V.
As soon as I had finished science I raced out of class to find Piper.
After what had happened in the morning I had a lot of questions to ask her. I caught her coming out of the art room.
She turned around, her eyes widening when she spotted me. "Pipes, what was that?" "What was what?" she asked, clearly stalling.
"Why did you lie to your mom?" Piper bit her lip. She looked down at her feet, her arms wrapped tightly around her bag
. I reached out and draped my arm around her back. "What's wrong?" I asked. She shrugged. "I didn't want to make a big deal about us going out."
"You don't have to." I said, still confused. "Yeah, but my mom would." I smiled. "I'm sure if you just told her…"
"No Jason. I don't know I just, don't really want her to find out that we're going out.
And I know she'll probably find out soon but for the while being could we just you know."
I sighed. "If that's what you want."
