summary: twenty-nine year old Kathryn Smith and her daughter three year old Jasmine have been on their own until they meet the Atlanta group on the highway. both mother and daughter carry with them a scared and frightening past but Kathryn is also carrying with her something more. Enter Daryl Dixon Hunter, tracker, and all around bad ass as well carries a dark past can they both save each other or will someone or something tear them apart?

Chapter 21: Family Rivalry
Once people had become settled, rebuilding of the prison had begun.
What also begun was a rivalry between her and well her old family?
Daryl tried talking to Kathryn into giving them a chance, this ended into them fighting.
Kathryn had stopped crying by two weeks, she never felt alone a she did at that point.
Around lunch, Kathryn had taken the twins outside, they had fixed fences and taken down the walkers.
She sits in the fields with both infants on each knee; she looks out at the walkers leaning against the fence.
Merle finds them and walks towards her. "Thought I'd find ya and yougins."
Kathryn looks up then back down at Chrissi and Joe. "Hi Merle."
Merle sits taking out a cigarette. "Heard ya and ma ill' brother been arguing."
Kathryn sighs and nods. "I know, I've been trying to tell him about my old family. They hate me, sperm donor embarrassed by me."
Merle nods. "Least it's not as bad as my old man." Kathryn nods. "Ya mine disowned me when He showed up."
Merle nods as he lights his cig. "Ya and my lill brother are gonna to get through this. Already knew your family were a bunch of assholes."
Kathryn looks up and smiles. "Thanks' Merle I think I'm going to find Daryl."
He nods and smirks. "Best ya should before that whore of a step sister of yers does."
Kathryn growls as she walks off to find her husband.
Walking into the cell block, she sees Daryl and Anna, she stops and backs away hiding behind the corner.
"So I was wondering you should dump the ugly ass wife of yours, come spend some time with me."
Daryl shakes his head hitching his crossbow on his shoulder. "Naw, I love my wife, an' she's more purdy then ya."
Anna snorts as she leans against him. "Come on I know it's just a pity thing."
Kathryn takes a breath and moves out from around her corner "Get away from my husband you skank!"
Daryl looks at his wife, he take's Anna's hands and forces them away from him.
"Why? You two haven't been giving each other the time of day, thought I should move in." Kathryn glares at her as Daryl walks behind her and wraps his arms around his wife.
"Stay away from my husband!" She growls, Anna steps up "Oh yeah you and what army?"
Kathryn smirks. "Just the army of the living dead outside the prison."
Anna stiffens as the couple walks away to their cell block.
Laying their twins down for a nap Daryl turns Kathryn around. "Wanna tell ya I'm sorry didn't know ya was tellin the truth."
Kathryn smiles as she wraps her arms around his neck. It's ok...I know how you can make it up to me."
Daryl smirks as he leads her back to their cell, he cups her face kissing her softly.
Kathryn took his jacket and vest off, Daryl takes his/hers poncho off.
They part long enough for him to lay her down on the mattress, he takes her lips with his once more.
Daryl snakes his tongue out caressing her lower lip, she parts her lips as he hungrily kisses her.
He moves from her lips to her jaw line then her neck, Kathryn moans as clothes fly.
Heated passion passes through them, as Daryl sets himself between her legs.
"Ya ready darlin?" Kathryn nod's breathlessly "Yes I need you, I've missed you so much."
Daryl smiles. "I love ya darlin, with us safe I was thinkin I wanna have kids. Whole prison full." Kathryn smiles as a tear runs down her cheek. "I love you and I want that as well."
She grabs his neck bringing him down for a heated kiss.
Ever since Woodbury they hadn't had this much excitement as they are now.
Daryl slowly slid himself inside her, she gasps and moans feeling him fill her.
That night they shared what they had been missing.

Waking up, Kathryn stretches her spent body, she had an amazing night with her husband.
She rolls over seeing him on his back his upper half bear and showing she licks her lips and smiles.
She kisses his chest and lips before slipping out of bed, and getting dressed in jeans and tee shirt she quietly slips out.
Sighing she takes her twins down for breakfast there was already a line.
She sees Merle sitting by himself but his gaze was on her mother.
Kathryn couldn't help but smile, those two have been hitting it off well.
Her mother was even been putting him in his place when he needed it.
She walks up to her brother-in-law and sits down. "Good morning!"
Kathryn says cheerily, Merle turns and chuckles.
"Well good morning, seems someone had a busy night." Kathryn looks down at her twins blushing.
"You could say that," she clears her throat "So how are you and my mom getting along."
Merle laughs "Nu hu Sweet cheeks, ya aint scootin around this. Ya and my lill brother made love sweet love last night."
Kathryn coughs and blushes more. "Isn't a little early for your perv talk?"
"Not with hair like yers honey, come on now talk ta me." Kathryn tries to flatten her hair "Ok Daryl and I made up after Anna tried hitting on him."
Merle laughs hooting. "Well that's good ta know sweet heart."
Kathryn nods. "Daryl says with the prison safe, he wants to try for a baby."
Merle smiles. "Good, ya two deserve it after the hell ya two been in."
Kathryn smiles taking the older man's hand. "Thanks it's good to hear that coming from you."
Merle nods with a smile as her mother brings over two plates. "Thought you two might be hungry, and Beth will be over for some oatmeal for the twins."
Kathryn smiles up at her mother. "Thanks mom."
Merle grabs her mother's hand pulling her into a kiss, Kathryn cheers and claps.
The Atlanta group looks up and cheers as well, Daryl comes from behind "Where's mine darlin?"
Kathryn turns in time for his lips to crash into hers the whole room bursts into cheers.
Kathryn blushes and smiles as Merle claps his hand on his brother's back.
"That's the way lill brother!" He yells.
