Sorry about the long wait for a new chapter, it took a while to get some inspiration. But now the latest installment of Twins! I do not own Vampire Knight, as much as I wish I did. I only own my own characters.
Unexpected
Karima Himeno held the small plastic stick as though it were a bomb. Katani was sitting next to her, her stomach looking as though a basketball was underneath her shirt. She was seven months pregnant with Ichijo's child. Three minutes later Karima looked up and sighed at her sister, the white stick in her hand now brandishing a little pink plus sign.
"God, that little pink plus sign is so unholy," she said wryly. Katani chuckled at her sister. Her hand went to her stomach and rubbed circles. She remembered the joy at discovering her own pregnancy. Takuma was so excited to be a father. And now her baby would grow up with a playmate!
"When are you going to tell Aido?" she questioned. Karima sighed and pondered a moment. She was supposed to be getting married in another year, but if they didn't tie the knot before she began to show, the child would be rejected by the aristocratic vampires. That meant things were going to have to be rushed slightly.
"I'm not sure. But I know this means we'll have to push things forward. God, Kat, I should have known better! I don't regret anything, but after that weekend we should have stopped, at least until we got married," Karima sighed. She began to shake the pregnancy test, as though hoping to erase the pregnancy itself.
"That isn't an Etch-A-Sketch dear. This is one doodle that cannot be undone. But all will work out, I'm sure of it," Kat said sagely.
"I'll go and let Hana know of this, ah, miracle. He needs to know about it," Karima said, getting up and dropping the pregnancy test into a waste bin nearby. Kat started to ask if Karima wanted to go with her before reconsidering and simply walking her out the door of her home.
Rima dialed Aido's number as she walked and told him to meet her somewhere private. Upon arrival, she informed her fiancé of the news. She was surprised when he hugged her, expecting more worry than joy.
"This is wonderful news! Now we can get married that much sooner and an heir already sorted out!" he exclaimed happily. Karima felt his forehead and frowned.
"Nope, no fever. Who are you and what have you done with Hanabusa Aido?" she questioned teasingly. Aido poked her nose. "Well, if you're not worried, then I shouldn't be either, huh?"
"Nope. Nothing's wrong with this situation. It's a little sooner than we planned, but I've always wanted to be a father, and I know you are dying to outdo your sister now that she's pregnant. Our baby will be much more beautiful, I bet. After all, what is a more beautiful couple than us?" he asked.
"Ours!" shouted Takuma. He and Katani were making their way over to the happy couple. Well, Takuma was walking while Katani waddled slightly.
"Please!" said Karima. She eyed her sister and brother-in-law before smiling and hugging them both.
"Now we both have families in the making. You just got a head start O-ne-chan. I'll have the more beautiful baby though," she declared. Kat just smiled and shook her head. She was sure the babies would end up looking like twins. Both would most likely have green eyes and strawberry blonde hair, and both would grow up absolutely spoiled rotten. Suddenly Rima's eyes widened and she looked slightly worried.
"Who's going to tell Mother and Father?" she asked worriedly. Aido started visibly trembling.
The twins' father was a kindly man, but he would not take the news as happily as they had. He'd probably scold the two for being foolhardy. He might even get seriously angry, considering Aido had deflowered his precious daughter before marrying her. Granted they had at least waited until they were engaged before they did anything, but still, it wasn't exactly high society behavior. Only when they told their parents would they know how well they would react. But Aido was personally dreading that moment.
