Amy

I'm different? Why do I feel this way about him? Why do I not want to get away from his hold? The king holds me like this all the time, but this is different. The king holds me with a strong, tight grip, one that hurts so much I can't move; his fur is rough and pricks at my skin.

But Sonic holds me in a protective, gentle grip that is still strong and tight but doesn't hurt, I'm free to move around, I could leave if I wanted to but I don't, Sonic's fur is warm and soft a feels smooth against my arms. I want to stay like this.

Sonic's hold then dropped from around me and he stepped back, I looked at him, his face held pity and he looked almost apologetic. Before I could say anything he said "I'm sorry… that must have made you uncomfortable."

'No it didn't! If only you knew I liked the way you held me, I want you to hold me like that again. You make me feel safe, please just hold me again.' I want to say it but... I didn't say it, I couldn't say it, how much I wanted to say it though, but the words just wouldn't come out of my mouth. So instead I stepped forward, my chest coming into contact with his abdomen as he was taller then me. I didn't feel uncomfortable with my chest touching him at all.

I then wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head on his chest. Suddenly I found words again "It didn't make me feel uncomfortable, you make me feel safe, you make me feel like nothing matters anymore, I want you to hold me like that again… please" I begged, gripping him tighter, I need him!

He didn't say anything, but he did as I requested and held me. He held me tight yet gently; I don't know why I was so scared of him before. "Amy…" I heard his voice whispered.

"Yes?" I whispered back.

"I think I-no… I know I love you…" his sweet voice claimed. I never thought I'd hear anyone tell me they loved me again after I came to the palace. I cried, but for the first time in five years, I cried out of joy.

But my joy went away soon and was replaced with doubt "Promise me you mean that!" I shouted into his chest "Promise me you're not just saying that so you can get me in bed with you!"

"Amy I swear to you I mean that. I said that the only time I wanted to mate with someone was when I knew I loved them, and Amy I love you but I don't want to love someone just for that Amy. Amy I love you because I want to protect you, I want to comfort you, I want to make you happy, I don't want you to live in fear anymore, I want you to be with me because I don't want to leave you Amy. Amy I truly love you!" he sounded so sincere, I had to believe him.

"Thank you…" I breathed "I think I love you as well" I confessed. And I mean that. He's like something from a childhood fantasy, he's everyone's dream (including mine), and he just said he loves me, and now for once in my life I actually have hope. And then I cried again.

Rouge

The King had now retuned from his horseracing; he must have lost because he stormed in and nearly knocked servants down as he went towards the red echidna and silver hedgehog.

"Go collect Amy from Sonic's chambers!" he yelled at the two, they both did as they were told and left.

I followed the King as I knew Amy would be with him soon enough and I wanted to see if he was planning anything against more villages. That's also something we do, Shadow spies on King Acorn and tell us when and where he's going to attack so we can help other villages.

Silver

I and Knuckles went to collect Amy for the King. We both knew what he wanted from her-everyone knew- and I feel sorry for her, she's been here for longer then I have, I joined the army two years ago with Knuckles.

The King's not exactly a nice person and his daughters no angel, they both make her life a living hell. I heard that she tried to kill herself once or twice before I got here, and the king punished her for it. And she's tried to runaway every chance she's got, I had to retrieve her once and that was the day I found out about what the King does to her. And why Shadow accepted me into the army.

"Amy has runaway again. Silver you go with Shadow to bring her back, I want her unharmed! Understood?!" King Acorn was outraged and I though for a moment that he was going to kill someone out of anger. I had just joined the army three months ago.

I then left with Shadow, were both fast so it will be easy to get her. Shadow said to walk because we might run past Amy. I and Shadow got on quite well and he wasn't as scary as I first thought him to be.

"Why is the King so angry that Amy escaped?" I asked curiously.

"Because Amy was a gift to the king three years ago and has been his sex slave ever since." Shadow said it like he was trying to hide his emotions.

"Oh…" I was shocked; I knew Amy was sixteen, so that meant she had been thirteen when it first happened. "I can see why she would runaway then" I said, mostly to myself but Shadow answered anyway.

"Silver if I tell you this do you promise to tell no one?"

"Yes, of course" I agreed.

"I was here three months before Amy, however I knew her before we both came to the palace. My mother and Amy's mother were best friends so that's how I came to know her. Amy's mother was beautiful and the King wanted her for his sex slave originally, but couldn't have her because she was a married woman. He knew she had a daughter and knew I was close friends with Amy; Amy is as beautiful as her mother, so he made a deal with our village. He would protect them from Eggman's next attack if he could have Amy. Amy wanted to protect her family so she agreed" Shadow told me.

"I see, so what point are you trying to make exactly?" I still didn't understand why he was telling me this.

"I trust you Silver, and I believe you to be an excellent fighter. I told you this because I have a plan to get Amy out of the palace. I want you to help me with it?"

"I-I don't know, if the King finds out…" I trailed off, not wanting to think of what he would do to us.

"I know what could happen, but the King is weak. And he won't find out, this mission is so secret that Amy herself doesn't even know were on her side. Amy thinks I'm loyal to the King and now hates me." Poor Shadow, he's only trying to help her and she hates him.

"I'm sorry to hear that. But if she hates you then why are you helping her?" There is no point in helping someone who will not appreciate what you're doing for them.

"Because she was once my friend and I promised her mother, when she was dying in my arms, that I would, so are you with me? If not then fine, but you will be kicked out of the army, and if you tell anyone you will also be kicked out, and don't bother to tell the King because he won't believe you against me." He smirked; knowing that it was a win-win situation for him. Shadow trusted me and believed I could help, how could I say no?

Knuckles is in on it to though, I was allowed to tell him. He to thought the King evil and sick minded.

We then reached Sonic's door, I was going to knock but Knuckles stopped me and put his finger on his mouth signalling me to be quiet.

I then heard whimpering inside. He better not be doing what I think he's doing to her! I've never spoken to Amy, I've only ever seen her around the castle and when I have I had to keep up 'I hate you' front to her, but I always saw how scared she was when the King turned to her. Knuckles counted down on his fingers. When he got to one we both burst through the door!

Sonic wasn't doing what I thought it was, not at all. He was holding her in a hug, and I knew she wanted it because she was hugging him too. They both let go when me and Knuckles so rudely burst in.

Amy gasped and Sonic had a look of shock and anger on his face. I was about to tell them not to worry, that they could trust us and we were good. But Knuckles remembered to keep up the hate and said "What in hells name are you doing?!" his fake anger was very convincing.

"I-I…uh…" Sonic didn't know what to say, and neither would I if I was in his place. Amy looked over at Knuckles with so much fear that I couldn't take it.

"Don't worry, Knuckles won't tell anyone and neither will I" I told them, while closing the door.

Knuckles shot me a glare but I shrugged and said "What can we do Knuckles we were going to tell Sonic anyway."

Knuckles sighed "but Amy wasn't meant to know."

"It doesn't matter anymore, she won't tell anyone" I stated.

"Tell me what?" Sonic asked, breaking into our convocation.

"Alright, we'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone for Amy's safely" judging by the way Sonic was hugging her before we walked in, told me that he would do anything for her.

Just to prove my point further he said "I'll do anything if it means Amy's safe." He then pulled Amy into his arms in a protective manner.
