"Shadow, I needed to talk to you!" Sonic's voice boomed. Shadow was in the field with Knuckles, Silver and a few others.
"Yes? What is it?"
"The ball is tonight, I need Amy out of the castle by the time its over."
"Why?" Shadow inquired. All the guards that had been training were now listening in.
"Because I and Sally had an argument and things didn't end well. She says that if I don't go with her to the ball, propose to her in front of her dad, and marry her… she'll torture Amy!" By the end of the sentence Sonic was panting for breathe. Some around gasp at the news they had received.
"Just calm down Sonic, we'll think of something. Lucky for you the people whom you have just announced this information to are on our side. What is also lucky for you is that we were all coming up with some plans" Shadow gestured to all the guards who saluted.
"And…?"
"We think we're on to something!" Shadow smirked. The rest of the guards gathered round so they could know what there part in the plan is.
"So you think it'll work?" One of the guards asked.
"Of course it will!" Sonic quickly answered! "If you all know what you're doing then, yes!"
The crowd of guards all dispersed and walk back to there quarters as it was nearly time for the ball. Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Knuckles were about to go there separate ways, until a white bat with icy blue eyes swooped in front of them and landed a few feet away; which caused them all, apart from Shadow, to pull out their sword. Shadow was quick to stop them from harming the bat "She's with us."
"The names Rouge" The bat winked towards the boys. Putting her hands on her hips "I heard everything, I know my part, and I'll get her out of there!"
"Good! So you'll be there tonight then?" Knuckles confirmed.
"Where else, Knucklehead?!" Sonic chuckled at the bat's remark, liking her already. He chuckled louder at Knuckles' face. Knuckles turned on his heels and began to walk off.
"Oh and Knuckles?" Rouge called after him, he swiftly turned and looked at her "I'll be expecting a dance" She said with a wink, causes Knuckles' cheeks to match his fur. He then turned on his heel again, grumbling something about an annoying-white-bat. "I heard that!" Rouge giggled at the silly echidna.
"Anyway, I have to go make myself look pretty for the ball. Nice meeting you all" and with that Rouge flew off, leaving Shadow, Sonic and Silver.
Silver was deep in thought until Shadow's chilling voice brought him out of it "What are you thinking about? A certain purple cat?" Silver's cheeks turned to red in a matter of seconds before he started to babble.
"W-well I wouldn't say… I wasn't-" Silver took a breath. "Maybe…"
"Who…?" Sonic asked, not knowing who they were talking about.
"Princess Blaze, Silver's been interested in her since he had to show her around the palace." Shadow explained. "She's also Sally's cousin and will be attending the ball tonight, she and her family have agreed to help us."
"Anyway! We have to get ready!" Silver butted in, quick to stop anymore talk of the beautiful princess.
Sonic
I walked back to my room, where I knew Amy would not be, I sighed.
"Hey, are you ok?" asked a voice from behind me.
I turned to see a young fox at about the age of fourteen. Strange thing was, he had two tails! He must of seen me staring at him "Oh, yeah. I know I have two tails, weird huh?" he said, almost shamefully.
"No!" I quickly said "it's not weird; I think it's pretty cool!" I wasn't lying, they were pretty neat!
"Y-you think so?" He asked looking back at his tails.
"Of course I do, what's your name anyway, buddy?"
It's Miles, but friends call me Tails, and I don't need to ask yours. You're Sonic the hedgehog." Tails- how ironic.
"Yep, that's me" I smiled and winked at him, giving him thumbs up.
"I saw you speaking to Shadow; you're on our side too right?"
"Yep!" I told him with a smile. Good to have him on the team.
"That's great! I hope Amy will be alright."
"Me too" I agreed, my thoughts going back to Amy, and what she must be feeling.
Noticing my change of mood Tails said "Come on, we need to get ready for the ball."
