Sally was attached to Sonic's arm as they walked through the doors to the ballroom. It was decorated in pink, red, and white ribbons. A fat little robin announced their entrance as they walk down the stairs.

"The least you could do is smile" Sally whispered through gritted teeth. Sonic cracked a fake smile. "Now ask me to dance" She whispered again as they made it to the bottom of the stairs. Before Sonic could do as she asked, they were greeted by three cats.

One of the cats was male and the other two were female. The male cat had light blue fur and yellow eyes, while the two females were purple also with yellow eyes. The male cat spoke first "dearest niece, how nice to see you again" he said with a smile.

"You too uncle, oh this is Sonic, my date for this evening" she gestured towards the blue hedgehog she was clinging on to tightly.

"Hello Sonic, nice to meet you" said one of the female cats, who was older then the other female. "My name is Kate, this is my husband" she gestured to the blue male cat "Jeff, and our daughter, Blaze" Jeff shook Sonic's hand while Blaze held her hand out to him to kiss.

"A pleasure to meet you all" Sonic said with a genuine smile, knowing that Blaze was going to help.

"Sally where is your father, I'd like to catch up with him if you don't mind" Jeff asked.

"Oh he's over there, I'll take you to him" She said knowing it would be rude not to take him.

"Excellent, come along Kate" Kate took his arm.

Sally didn't let go off Sonic's arm as she walk a couple of steps towards her father. "Oh Sonic you can keep me company while Sally shows my father where my uncle is" Blaze said latching on to Sonic's other arm. Sally shot Blaze a glare but let go of Sonic's arm and went on her way, but not before kissing him on the cheek.

Sonic groaned in annoyance. "I know… she's horrid, she wasn't always that way though. I don't know what's wrong with her now" Blaze said in understanding. "But anyway, do you know the plan?"

"Yes of course, your carriage is outside waiting?"

"Yes, ready and waiting" Blaze said with a smile.

"Good, Maria, Cosmo, Cream and Rouge will be there to help too."

"I know, they should be here in the ballroom until the plan gets into action, but until then act as normal as possible" Blaze informed him.

"Care to dance then?" Sonic asked bowing.

Blaze curtsied "I'd love too" she took his waiting hand, and Sonic lead her to the dance floor.

In another place in the ballroom Rouge was by the food table with Cream. Cream was one of the only servants that were aloud to attend. "So what's your part in the plan?" Cream quietly asked, she had been talking with Amy and knew the white bat was on her side.

"I have to get Amy out of here, same as yours" the while bat answered.

"How did you know that was my part too?" Cream asked in shock.

"I was listening in on the plans and just so happened to catch your name along with Maria's and Blaze's" Rouge explained.

"Oh well, I'm glad your on our side" Cream said with a giggle.

"I am too… Oh there's Knuckles, excuse me please Cream, I've got to ask him to dance, before that other girl looking at him does" Rouge said nodding towards a girl on the far end of the table trying to get his attention.

Cream nodded knowingly. She didn't know where to go now that Rouge was gone, she couldn't go see Amy because she was by the King (where she would be forced to stay until the plan came into action) and she couldn't find anyone else she knew who wasn't dancing. She scanned around the room looking for someone she could go talk to.

When she saw her mother talking to a green crocodile by the name of Vector, she decided to go over, knowing she could always talk to her mother.

"Hello mother, Vector" She greeted politely and she curtsied.

"Hello dearest" Vanilla greeted back with a smile and hugged her daughter.

"Oh hello Cream, my don't you look lovely" Vector complemented, taking her hand and kissing her knuckles.

"Thank you, mother made my dress" she said. She was wearing a fitted yellow dress, which made her chocolate brown eyes sparkle.

"And she did a fine job I see. Cream have you met Charmy?" Vector asked, seeing if she could talk to him, so he could get back to his conversation with Vanilla.

"Um… I don't believe I've had the pleasure…" She answered quietly and sweetly, not knowing who the hell Charmy was.

"Oh you must meet him!" He said putting one hand at the small of her back, giving her a gentle push towards a bee with his back turned to them. "Charmy!" Vector snapped, giving him a hard nudge on the shoulder.

"Owe! What was that for!?" Charmy snapped back, turning round quickly, only to be found nose to nose with Cream, Cream took a step back with a smile on her face seeing that Charmy was about her age.

"Cream this is Charmy, he's like a brother to me, a very annoying brother" Vector introduced "Charmy this is Cream, daughter of Vanilla the seamstress."

"Nice to meet you" Cream said curtsying.

"Nice to meet you too!" Charmy said with a smile, kissing her knuckles.

"I'll leave you two to talk, I expect Vanilla will want some company" Vector announced, darting off before either of the two could say anything.

"He really likes your mother, doesn't he?" Charmy chirped, knowing that soon Vector would try to coax Vanilla into dancing.

"I've never really noticed…" Cream replied, nervous of saying the wrong thing. There was then an awkward silence, neither one of them knowing what to say or do.

Charmy then broke the silence, knowing very well that Cream wouldn't "would you… uh… like to dance?" Cream nodded with a smile and took his hand.

Amy sighed as she watched Sally, watch Sonic dance with princess Blaze. Sally had a look of jealously and hatred plastered on her face. 'How can she look like that if she thinks that Sonic will do as she says and marry her?' Amy thought another sigh followed that thought. Sally had been made to stay by her father because Queen Kate had decided to talk to her, not really caring that Sally was glaring at her daughter. Queen Kate also knew about the plan along with her husband, King Jeff. Amy didn't exactly know what the plan was, only that Maria, Vanilla, Cream, Rouge, Blaze, Queen Kate and Cosmo were to get her out of the castle unseen. Amy didn't really know Blaze, Queen Kate or Cosmo that well and she hadn't seen Maria or Rouge since she was thirteen, so she was a little nervous. 'I hope everything goes well' she though, turning her head to see that Queen Kate was smiling at her while talking to Sally (who was still looking at Blaze with a hateful glare), then wink at her. Amy gave a weak smile back 'this plan has to work!'
