Hello, Sorry about the HUGE delay, but we're still having trouble coming up with where we want the story to go. This is a super short chapter, but we managed to get the story going SOMEWHERE at least :( Thanks for being patient with us, we haven't given up yet!

~Disclaimer~ We do not own Ghost Hunt!

Mai hummed happily as she organized the case file. Ever since she discovered that Naru had to be nice to her to avoid random objects flying at him, she had never felt better. The whole team was more cheerful than usual. Even the ever stoic Lin looked amused when Naru would enter the room.

"Nothing significant has been happening lately. We need to spark a reaction out of the spirit or call this case closed." Naru huffed in irritation. The team was gathered in the small, cluttered security room they were using as a base.

"Naru, we can't close the case! People are in danger!" Mai argued.

"We could try a séance? Maybe the spirit would react to that?" Yasu suggested. Naru rubbed his face as he debated his options.

"Alright. Miss Hara, please prepare yourself for a séance. We will hold it tonight so we can finally solve this case." He decided. He added as an afterthought, "Mai tea." When a nearby binder started hovering menacingly, he tacked on "Please."

Everyone burst out laughing as Mai smiled slyly. "Right away Naru! Thank you for asking so nicely." New peals of laughter were heard from the group as Naru let out a growl and left to watch footage.

Despite her thorough enjoyment of Naru's predicament, Mai quickly prepared the tea and brought it to him. She knew that this wouldn't last forever and she didn't want Naru to feel the need for revenge when the case was over.

Evening came quickly and Masako was prepared for the séance. Everyone was gathered around a table lit with candles and waited patiently for the spirit to show itself. Masako began chanting, calling the spirit forward. For a while, nothing out of the ordinary happened. Just as everyone was beginning to give up, the table began violently shaking and Masako screamed.

"Masako!" Mai called worriedly. She started to stand, but Naru was quick to grab her arm and pull her down.

"No Mai, don't touch her. Just wait." Naru narrowed his eyes as he watched Masako. After a few moments, the table settled and Masako looked up from the table. Her eyes showed a deep anger and resentment.

"Who are you?" Naru asked calmly.

"Kei." Masako answered emotionlessly.

"Why are you here?"

"Revenge."

"Why do you need revenge?"

"That cheating bitch…she killed me! She destroyed my life because she was unfaithful!" Masako began ranting.

The table began shaking again and the team let out yells of surprise as Masako slumped in her seat. After the table settled, Mai stood and walked around the table to the recovering priestess, resting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Are you alright Masako?" She nodded her head as she sat herself up more in her chair.

"Well, know we know the basics of what happened. We just have to decide how to get rid of him." Naru said as he rose from his seat and made his way to the computers.
