Chapter 1: World Without Light! Dark Synchro, Frozen Fitzgerald!
At the large dump that Rally, Nerve, Taka and Blitz were imprisoned in. Blitz is banging on the video screen that was showing them the duel. "C'mon! You must be joking! We lost the feed right when the Crimson Dragon appeared and made things exciting!" Blitz says. "Maybe it broke." Says Rally. "It's a TV in a junkyard, after all." Nerve says. Just then, the TV bleeps and comes back on. "Aha, all right! We can watch!" Says Blitz. On the screen, they can hear the crowd chanting 'Yusei! Yusei! Yusei!'. Every one of the holographic screens around the stadium skyline shows his face. "The winner is Yusei Fudo!" The MC says, via-screen. Yusei doesn't appear to be happy or surprised, his expression is rather closed. He's pinned down by a triple spotlight, as he stands on the track. Yusei looks around at the stands and at the camera. "It's the birth of the new King!" Says the MC, via-screen. "What happened?" Taka asks. "I don't believe it." Says Nerve. "Look at Yusei." Blitz says. It starts to dawn on them. Blitz looks startled, Taka grips his shoulder in front of him. Nerve gasps and Rally looks the most shocked of all. "He won." Says Taka. "Yusei is the King?" Rally asks. A high-five in the air. Blitz, Nerve and Taka do a victory dance, while Rally's still staring at the screen, completely stunned. "Yeah! He did it!" Says Blitz. "All right!" Nerve says. "I knew he could do it! That's why he's Yusei!" Says Taka. Rally stares for a bit more, completely stunned, then his face lights up. "Yusei!" Rally says.
At the stadium, beneath a huge holographic projection of Yusei's head, the reporters are in a flurry. "This is unbelievable!" "That's right! The winner is Yusei Fudo! Jack lost!"
Carly Nagisa, a gawky young reporter, snaps a few photos and then speaks into the camera, switching it to video. She has trifocal glasses, which make her look extremely geeky, if not a little bit crazy, gray eyes and long, mid-back length, black hair, that points down in an arrow. Carly's wearing an orange vest, over a blue and white striped shirt. She also wears a bag that hangs over her shoulder, blue, knee-length pants, with a belt, and orange sneakers. Carly is eighteen, 5'4", 122 lbs, with a 32.2" bust, a 22.8" waist and 32.6" hips. "The person who defeated the King of Kings, Jack Atlas was Yusei Fudo… ah!" Says Carly.
She's suddenly shoved aside by a blonde reporter, in a red-pink jacket, with a mic and a camera guy. "For the first time ever, Satellite gives birth to a new King! His name is Yusei Fudo!"
"What are you doing, Angela! I was filming!" Carly says. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were rehearsing." Says Angela. Carly fumes. "You're the same as ever, angry Carly." Angela says. "What did you say?" Asks Carly. "Are you getting angry? Anyway, I don't have time for you right now. Interviews." Angela says.
"Uh! Me too!" Says Carly. She runs after Angela.
Meanwhile, Yusei's standing in the stadium, surrounded by holoscreens of himself, the crowd chanting his name. He watches a couple of paramedics load Jack onto a gurney and cover him with a blanket before wheeling him away.
"Jack, what we saw was…" Yusei thinks to himself.
Hecklers can be heard from the stands. "Satellite punk!" "I know you cheated!" "You're a brat with a marker!" "I won't accept someone from Satellite being the King!"
"Yusei!" Lua says.
Yusei turns.
Lua, Subaru, Tenpei, Yanagi and Himuro are running toward him. "Lua!" Says Yusei. "Sonny, let's flee!" Yanagi says. "Huh?" Asks Yusei. Yanagi points. "Look over there!" Yanagi says.
Behind a fence nearby, flashbulbs are snapping, reporters are shouting and Angela can be seen waving her microphone in front. "Yusei Fudo! New King!" "Give me an interview!" Says Angela. The fence falls and the reporters come stampeding toward them, shouting.
"Aah!" Yusei says. Behind him, Himuro's pushing his D-Wheel. "Yusei, hurry!" Says Himuro. "Right." Yusei says. They run for it, as the reporters stampede closer. Then out of nowhere, a black and red portal opens up before them, the guys barely even hesitate and they run straight into it. As soon as they all enter, the portal closes and their gone.
Up in Godwin's tower. "You're going to let Yusei Fudo escape? What happened anyway? How could the King lose?" Asks Jaeger. "That's a trivial issue." Godwin says. "Euh?" Asks Jaeger. "The stars have started to move. They will soon become one. That's the moment I'm waiting for." Godwin says. "Huh...?" Asks Jaeger.
The reporters are camped out in a garage that opens onto the track, everyone's talking at once. "No one's here. Where did they go?" "Then there's nothing to report." Angela says, peeved. Carly is looking around, too.
But she has no idea that beneath their feet, Yusei and his friends have made a clean getaway. Right to left as they come walking out from the portal, Himuro, walking Yusei's D-Wheel, Tenpei, Subaru, Yusei, Lua and Yanagi. The portal then closes behind them.
Sakura soon approaches and stops, standing at almost a dueling distance from them, her outfit still completely shredded, if not more so, after the Crimson Dragon's awakening, with Velvet and Grim standing at one side of her, while Luca stands on the other side of her.
"Sakura, Velvet, Luca." Says Yusei.
"Seems as if someone now knows the problem of being the King, isn't that right, brother?" Sakura asks.
"Very funny, sis." Says Yusei.
Sakura suddenly drops to her knees, wrapping her arms around her body as if trying to ward off a chill.
"Sakura!" Yusei says. He and the boys start running over to Sakura, Luca, Velvet and Grim. Yusei kneels down to one knee when he reaches her. Sakura unfolds her arms after a moment and he looks down, in shock, at the markings and scars that cover almost every square inch of her body. "What happened?" Asks Yusei. "The awakening of the Crimson Dragon, that is what happened." Sakura says. She looks up at him, dark-crimson red meeting royal blue. Yusei's eyes widen, in shock. Sakura has tears in her eyes. "I… I'm sorry…" Says Sakura, with tears now running down her face. Yusei wraps his arms around her, holding her close to himself. "There's no reason to apologize." Yusei says. He reaches for his jacket and places it on over her shoulders. Sakura touches the material of her brother's jacket, gingerly, and looks up at him, almost in bewilderment. "I'm here for you, sis. The real reason I came to Neo Domino in the first place, was you." Says Yusei. Sakura forms a small smile. "Brother…" Sakura says. She suddenly slumps over, only to be caught in Yusei's arms. He looks down at Sakura, only to notice that she's utterly spent from the day's activities.
Yusei lifts her up, cradling her, gently. They then all start walking down the passageway. "They used this passageway when they were building the stadium." Says Himuro. "I never knew this existed." Tenpei says. "It's because no one uses it anymore. Sakura must've learned about this from Saiga." Says Himuro. "Anyway, Sonny, you're awesome. You actually became the King." Yanagi says. "I always knew that you'd become the King, Yusei!" Says Lua. Tenpei nods. "Yeah!" Tenpei says. "This isn't the time to celebrate. They kidnapped Yusei's friends. We don't know what they're capable of." Says Himuro. "Hmm." Tenpei, Lua and Yanagi all say. "For now, we should stay at Saiga's hideout. It'll also be safer if Lua and Luca stay with us. And we don't know if Godwin's looking for Sakura, so she'll be safer there, too." Says Himuro. Yusei looks down at Sakura, who's lying asleep in his arms. "Really? Hooray! I can be with Yusei again!" Lua says. Yusei smiles at his enthusiasm. Luca looks troubled. "Yusei… I saw your duel against Jack inside the light." Says Luca. Yusei knows what she's about to say. "Huh?" Yusei asks. Luca faces him, with fear in her eyes. "Satellite was…" Says Luca.
Flashback. Purple flames as high as buildings crisscross the Satellite cityscape, demolishing any structure in their path, ruthlessly. As the Signers ride above the vision on their glowing pathway, the fires have finished etching the flaming purple outline of a spider. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "What was that?" Luca asks. "I don't know. However, if that was a vision of Satellite's future, I'll stop it." Says Yusei. Luca looks worried, she looks down at her right arm and lays a hand over her sign. "What is a Signer?" Luca asks. Yanagi jumps in between her and Yusei, ready to ramble. "Ta-daa! I'm the expert on those kinds of stories. Ready, Luca? A Signer is… Whoa! Before that, I'll first have to talk about my numerous adventures around the world. Hehehehehe!" Says Yanagi. Luca looks at Yusei, nonplussed, he smiles back, amused.
Flashback. As the Signers ride above the vision on their glowing pathway, the fires have finished etching the flaming purple outline of a spider. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. Yusei isn't smiling anymore and looks down at Sakura, as she lies asleep in his arms.
At Duel Stadium, the reporters wait behind a wall of guards for Godwin to exit his tower, impatiently. Carly peeks out of the crowd. "Uh! I'm nervous. I wonder if I'll be able to ask good questions. Ah!" Carly says. She snaps her fingers. "In times like this, I depend on my fortune-telling deck!" Says Carly. She draws from her deck, it's Fortune Fairy Hikari. "Today's fortune is super happy! If you keep moving forward, all your wishes will come true! All right!" Carly says.
The elevator door opens, Godwin and Jaeger are besieged with questions, as the guards try to keep order. "Director Godwin!" "What happened inside that light?" "Was the Crimson Dragon a monster card?" "Did Jack really lose? Many fans refuse to accept it." Says Angela.
"I apologize that during the final duel, we couldn't show what was happening because there was an error in the holographic system. We will give specifics on the duel at a later date." Godwin says. "Can you give us information about the new King, Yusei Fudo?" Asks Angela.
"We don't know anything except that he's from Satellite." Godwin says.
Carly struggles her way through the crowd and looks at her card once more. "In that case…" Carly thinks to herself. She crawls through the forest of legs in the crowd, determined to reach the front. "If I just keep moving forward, all my wishes will come true!" Says Carly.
"Where's Jack right now?" Angela asks.
Carly pops up in front of her. "What are you doing?" Asks Angela. "Eh, uh, when the Crimson Dragon appeared, it looked like Yusei Fudo's arm was glowing. Did that mean anything?" Carly asks.
Godwin's eyes narrow, he's not happy about this question. "Hm." Says Godwin.
Flashback, to Yusei's sign glowing as he rode. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "I didn't notice that." Godwin says, innocently.
"Then what was… wah!" Says Carly. "Why are you asking questions that are off-topic?" Angela asks. "But…" Says Carly.
"Well then… We're done with questions. We'll make announcements later, so this is it for today." Jaeger says.
"No way!" Says Angela. She makes noises of distress and outrage, as the reporters are herded back to form a walkway for Godwin and Jaeger.
"Please back up." "Director! Just one more question!" "Director Godwin!"
As he makes his exit, Godwin glares at Carly, ominously.
"Both Yusei Fudo and the Director have left." "That means, the only one left is Jack!" "Exactly." Angela runs past. "I'm going first!" Angela says.
"Huh? Stop her!"
Carly is soon left standing alone, but she has bigger fish to fry and she is stoked! "I also just have to keep moving forward!" Says Carly. She starts to run, slips and goes flying, her shoe flings itself high into the air.
A while later, Carly drives down the freeway in her little yellow car, beneath a larger-than-life holographic statue of Yusei. A computer blips at her.
Inside the old-fashioned interior, video screens and radars take up most of the dashboard space. Also the driver's side is on the right. Carly presses a button, the guy at the other end of the video phone call pounds his fist on the table, angrily, as soon as she picks up. "What are you doing, Carly? I've been calling you many times!" "I'm sorry, Editor." Carly says. "Did you get a quote from the new King?" "Umm, he escaped." Says Carly. "What are you doing? If you keep messing around, I'll fire you! There are many people who can replace you." "Please wait! If you want a scoop, I have a scoop!" Carly says. "A scoop? Really?" "I'm getting the details right now. Just leave room on the front page!" Says Carly. "Okay, you better get the scoop!" "Understood!" Carly says. The call ends. Carly sighs and presses a button on a machine that her camera is sitting on. The computer screen on which she received the call, that's covered with sticky notes, shows footage of the duel. Carly's screen shows footage of Jack playing a card, then red lightning forcing Stardust and Archfiend apart. Finally… "Yusei's arm is definitely glowing! Director Godwin was playing dumb, but there's something. By finding out how this relates to the Crimson Dragon, it'll be my ticket to success!" She thinks to herself. "Heeheeheehee…" "Duel disk detected fifteen degrees to the left." Says the computer. The computer screen shows a radial graph marked with compass points, middling close and at eleven o'clock, a blip appears. Within a few moments, Carly passes a street duel on the pavement beneath the freeway, one opponent has Blade Knight on the field and a card set, while the other is summoning. "Even the streets have star players, but they won't advance beyond that. Very few will make it, like me." Carly thinks to herself. Indeed, a sleeping bag is laid out across the back seat and a laundry line flaps in the back window. "That's right! That's why I won't return to the streets! I won't let this opportunity escape! I'll drive on the highways! I'll only move forward!" Carly's stopped dead in the road. "Huh? Ah! What? The engine stalled!"
Smokestacks, many, against a murky gray sky. A single, circular, hole reveals the gray sky and streams foggy light down into darkness, illuminating an odd, fluted spire in the gloom. A drop of bright water pierces the silent darkness and causes shining ripples. A three-pronged candlestick, the only thing barely illuminating a table of unfamiliar individuals in cloaks. "Hmhmhmhmhmhmhm!" The other two laugh, evilly. "The Signers have finally gathered." Their eyes start to glow purple, not unlike when Sakura's do. "Huheheheheheh!" "It took five thousand years." "That's why our battle against the Signers is unique. They'll taste everything until there's nothing left. Huhehehehe! It's time to lower the curtain of shadows." The speaker opens his palm and reveals a pair of spiders. The spiders extend webs to the chandelier above and raise themselves out of his palm, as he continues to laugh, evilly, the other two do, too.
Sunset at Saiga's hideout. Yanagi hums, tunelessly, as he draws something on a piece of paper, while Yusei, Himuro, Sakura and both sets of twins gather around. Sakura is now back to wearing the clothes when she first revealed who she was to Yusei, and her long, wavy hair is partially done up into twin tails by the black hairpieces that resemble bat wings, while the rest of her hair flows loose down the back, falling to her calves, save for the long, loosely flowing strand that rests on her right shoulder and falls to her tailbone. Grim's lying down at her feet, asleep. "It's something I saw a long time ago. I don't remember exactly, but it's something like this." Yanagi says. "Hah! This tail…" Says Yusei. "Yusei, what's wrong?" Lua asks. All gasp, except for Sakura, Yusei's showing them his sign, which looks just like the dragon's tail he pointed out in Yanagi's drawing. "Ah! Luca, what about you?" Asks Lua. Luca pulls up her sleeve to reveal the claw burned into her skin. "Oh..." Both Lua and Luca say. "Luca has a claw. And Sakura?" Asks Lua. Sakura pulls up her coat sleeve and rolls down her glove to reveal the left-wing that's burned into her skin, as well as the additional markings that have formed along her sign. "And Sakura has a wing. What does this mean?" Lua asks. "According to the legend of the people of the stars, the Crimson Dragon's head, wings, claws, legs and tail were split into six parts and sealed away as marks among people known as Signers. As for the Crimson Dragon's Host, that Signer receives symbolic designs, additional markings and the Seal of the Crimson Dragon itself, along with their respective sign." Says Yanagi. "Hold on. There are only five Signers that we know about, the Host included; Sakura, Yusei, Luca, Jack and Aki. But the Crimson Dragon still appeared." Himuro says. "That means the sixth person may have been nearby." Says Yanagi. "Godwin did mention that the sixth Signer was somewhere in the stadium." Sakura says. "Seriously?" Asks Himuro. Sakura nods, subtly. "Yes. However, he didn't say who it was. I don't doubt that he's keeping the sixth person a secret. Regardless, I was able to truly awaken the Crimson Dragon. Something that can only happen if all six Signers are present. Godwin has tricked us all, he was somehow able to get control over me and got me to release it." Sakura says. "So, Godwin forced you to release it. But, the question is how and why?" Asks Yusei. "I don't know. However, he knew who I was the whole time I was working for him, regardless of the fact that I hid my true identity from the public eye and hid myself under my alias. I originally did it to get close to Jack. At the time, I blamed him for everything that happened to me and bid my time to get even with him. However, something in me changed and I couldn't do it. Godwin was after me the whole time and he used Jack to get exactly what he wanted." Sakura says. She makes a subtle gesture towards the sigil burned into her forehead, just like the rest of the additional markings and symbolic designs that are etched along her body, brushing at her bangs slightly as she does. Yusei places one of his hands on Sakura's shoulder, who glances over at him, dark-crimson red eyes meeting royal blue eyes. "Did he hurt you?" Asks Yusei. "Only what he deemed necessary to complete the designs and markings that now mark up my body." Sakura says. She then glances down at Grim, who's still asleep. "Grim's the one who got the worst of it. He tried to protect me and attacked Godwin. However, he was able to grab a hold of Grim and threw him down to the floor. It was enough to hurt him and keep him down." Says Sakura. Yusei takes his hand off of her shoulder and kneels down to one knee next to Grim. He pets his head and then feels for anything that might have broken during the fall. Grim just continues to sleep. "It doesn't seem like anything's broken. I think he's going to be okay." Yusei says. He then stands back up. "He's going to be fine, Sakura. It's in his nature to protect you, it's what he's always done." Says Yusei. "I know. However, he can't protect me from everything. One day, he could end up getting himself killed trying to protect me." Sakura says. Lua pulls up his shirt and looks at this arms, searching for a mark. "Maybe I have a mark somewhere." Says Lua. Luca's eyes are drawn again to Yanagi's drawing. Lua notices. Luca stares at the image, worriedly, and closes her eyes, tightly, moaning. "Oh..." Luca says, lightly. She then faints on the spot. "Euh!" Says Yanagi. Sakura catches Luca.
Grim wakes up and lifts up his head. "Luca!" Yusei says. "Luca, what's wrong?" Asks Lua. "I'm okay. I'm just a little tired." Luca says, weakly. "We understand. Lots of things happened in just two days." Says Himuro. Luca, lolling over, takes one last glance at the drawing. Yusei and Sakura follow her gaze.
Jack's lying motionless in a sickbed somewhere. The room is plain, with an empty bedside table and some plants next to the curtained windows.
Outside, Minako is pacing, restlessly, and looks at the door. Jace is sitting in a chair in front of the door, the number on the door is 304. He's hugging his stuffed Red Dragon Archfiend close to himself, with sadness in his light-ocean blue eyes. Minako sits down in the chair next to Jace and clasps her hands, she might be praying.
Outside the hospital, the reporters are once again blocked off by guards. "No visitors allowed." "That means we can't get an interview with Jack." "I'm going to wait it out!" Angela says.
Carly drives by. "I'm just going to keep moving forward!" Carly thinks to herself. She drives away.
Twilight. Three cloaked figures, with white markings on their robes, are using a stagnant fountain in the bad part of town as a stage, addressing a dubious crowd of passersby. "The Crimson Dragon has come!" "The legendary Crimson Dragon!" "It yearns for blood and brings despair to the land!" "In order to destroy the red light, join us and fight it!"
Two bystanders exchange a shrug, neither one knows what's going on.
"Dark shadows will envelop the light!"
As the passersby listen, they don't notice as slender white threads come down on them from above, and a little web takes root on the back of each of their necks. Above, in the foggy sky, a huge web can be seen.
Another individual in a white-marked robe, his arm bared to reveal a spider-shaped sign, walks down an alley and raises his arm, the sign glows purple.
In Saiga's hideout. Luca and Velvet are tucked into the only bed.
Lua, Subaru and Yanagi are snoozing back-to-back on one sofa, while Himuro's sleeping sitting up on the other sofa.
Yusei's still awake, looking at the drawing on the desk, with Grim lying down next to it, sleeping. He then walks over to the window, where Sakura is standing, still awake herself.
Yusei places one of his hands on her shoulder, seeing that she still looks troubled. "You okay, Sakura?" Asks Yusei. "I'm not sure anymore, Yusei." Sakura says. She and Yusei both wince, suddenly sensing a presence. He pulls off his right glove and looks at his right arm, glowing through the sleeve. Yusei rolls up his sleeve and looks at it. Sakura doesn't do anything, she just looks down at it, glowing through her glove and her coat sleeve. "It's throbbing, but it feels different than usual. It feels likes it's gouging." Yusei thinks to himself. "Yusei." Says Sakura. Yusei looks out the window and sees a suspicious individual, with the purple spider sign standing outside in the alley, looking up at them. "Huh? Is that a Signer?" Yusei thinks to himself. He starts running to the door, but notices that Sakura isn't following him and then stops. "Sakura, aren't you coming?" Yusei asks.
"This isn't my fight, Yusei. He wants to duel you, not me." Says Sakura.
"How do you know?" Yusei asks.
"I can hear his thoughts. I have been able to read everyone's mind. However, that doesn't matter right now. Go on, Yusei. Go and duel him, but please be careful." Says Sakura.
Yusei nods and heads out the door, closing it behind him.
"I'm sorry, brother. However, this darkness, this uneasiness that I feel deep within my very core. I can't go out there right now." Sakura thinks to herself.
Grim suddenly wakes up and gets up, walking over to her. He comes to sit at Sakura's side and looks up at her. She glances down at Grim and pets him, scratching him behind one of his ears.
Yusei soon runs outside and sees a cloak swish around a corner. He gives chase. "Wait!" Yusei says, yelling.
They run down a long alley, around another corner and he beholds a large building, held up by iron frameworks, it's a parking garage. "What is this place? Why are you running?" Asks Yusei. He's inside looking around, it's empty, with barely any parked cars, when he hears the suspicious individual's footstep and whirls around. "Who are you?" Yusei asks.
"Hm, hm, hm, hm."
"Do you know? Do you know what's going to happen to Satellite?" Asks Yusei.
"Listen to the Shadow Duel. The shadows know everything." He activates his duel disk.
"Shadow Duel? Fine, I'll listen to everything you want to say!" Yusei says. He activates his duel disk.
"Duel!" Says both Yusei and the drone. 4000 life points each.
A wall of purplish flames springs up behind him and spreads around the duel in a circle. Yusei and the drone are now standing within a ring of purple flames.
"What is this?" Yusei asks.
"We'll be sacrificed to the altar of shadows. You can no longer escape."
"What are you talking about?" Asks Yusei.
"My turn." Drone draws. "I summon Blizzard Lizard in defense position!"
Blizzard Lizard has 1800 defense points and is a Level 3 monster. "I set one card and end my turn."
The radar screen in Carly's car reads 15345.9 and fluctuating. "Duel disk detected." The computer says. Carly looks over at the screen. "That number is incredibly high! I've never seen anything like that before. What is it?" Carly thinks to herself. She merges over to the other lane, the only car on the road and sees a flash of light in a half-built building. Carly's eyes are wide behind her glasses. "That light… Can it be?" Carly thinks to herself.
"My turn!" Says Yusei. He draws. "I activate the spell card 'Tuning'. I add one Tuner Monster from my deck to my hand, and then I send a card from my deck to the graveyard for every Level of the Tuner Monster. Junk Synchron is Level Three. I send three cards from my deck to the graveyard. I summon Junk Synchron!" Yusei says.
Junk Synchron has 1300 attack points and is a Level 3 monster. "When Junk Synchron is successfully summoned, I can Special Summon one Level Two-or-below monster from my graveyard in defense position. I call forth Speed Warrior!" Says Yusei.
Speed Warrior has 400 defense points and is a Level 2 monster. "Level Three Junk Synchron tunes Level Two Speed Warrior!" Yusei says.
Speed Warrior and Junk Synchron spring into action. Junk Synchron starts the little motor on its back and starts shining, until it turns into a fireball of energy and careens into the sky, forming three stars that circle around each other and form three rings. Speed Warrior soars through the rings and its two stars align...
"The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Junk Warrior!" Says Yusei.
Junk Warrior has 2300 attack points and is a Level 5 monster. "Battle! Junk Warrior attacks Blizzard Lizard! Scrap Fist!" Yusei says.
"Blizzard Tail!"
Swirling lines, backed by static, appear around Blizzard Lizard.
Junk Warrior strikes it, destroys it and suddenly a huge wind is blowing toward Yusei.
"Blizzard Lizard's monster effect activates. When this card is destroyed, you take three hundred points of damage."
Yusei's life points decrease to 3700, he stays on one knee for a moment. "I actually felt pain. That means, he has the same power as Aki. However, something is different." Yusei thinks to himself. "Huh?" Asks Yusei. He has seen the ground, the surface of which has been ripped apart by the wind. "Can it be?" Yusei asks.
Behind the drone, it looks like part of the wall is missing.
Yusei stands up. "My attacks will also hurt him for real. A special power must be controlling this duel." Yusei thinks to himself.
"Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha hahmhmhmhm!"
"I set two cards and end my turn." Says Yusei.
"My turn. I draw. The Continuous Trap 'Call of the Haunted'. I select one monster in my graveyard and Special Summon it in attack position. I resurrect Blizzard Lizard."
Blizzard Lizard has 600 attack points and is a Level 3 monster. "Then from my hand, I activate the spell card 'Ice Mirror'. I select one Level Three-or-below Water Attribute monster on my field, and I can Special Summon the same monster from my deck."
A second Blizzard Lizard appears on his field, 600 attack points and is a Level 3 monster. "Then from my hand…"
"Another 'Ice Mirror'!" Yusei says.
"I summon a third Blizzard Lizard."
A third Blizzard Lizard appears on the field, 600 attack points and is a Level 3 monster.
"What are you planning to do?" Asks Yusei.
"I release two Blizzard Lizards! I Advance Summon Level Eight Dark Tuner Catastrogue!"
Catastrogue has 0 attack points.
"Dark Tuner?" Yusei asks.
"Hm, hm! Dark Tuner Catastrogue dark tunes the remaining Blizzard Lizard! Dark Tuner Catastrogue is Level Eight. Blizzard Lizard is Level Three."
Catastrogue dematerializes into its eight stars, as though starting a normal tuning and they surround the remaining Blizzard Lizard.
"Hmhmhm! Shadows, show yourself!"
The eight stars plunge into Blizzard Lizard's skin and it appears to be stuffed or immobilized before changing to outlines. The stars combine with each other, vanish and reappear as five dark stars, the Lizard disappears.
"What's going on? The stars have turned dark." Says Yusei.
"That's right. The light has turned into shadows. Dark Synchro Summoning lets me summon a Synchro Monster whose Level is equal to the non-Tuner Monster's Level subtracted by the Dark Tuner's Level."
"No way. You can't subtract Level Eight from Level Three!" Yusei says.
"In the shadow world, a negative Level Five monster exists."
"Ah! No way…" Says Yusei.
The drone spreads his arms, the five dark stars swirling around him. "When shadows stack on shadows, the door to the realm of the dead opens. A world without light! Dark Synchro! Come! Frozen Fitzgerald!"
Frozen Fitzgerald has 2500 attack points and is a Level -5 monster.
"A Dark Tuning? I can't believe it." Yusei says.
Carly's car burns rubber up to the building and brakes on two wheels. She leaps a fence, doing a split and runs toward what she saw.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...!"
