Since the plan hadn't gone accordingly everyone was waiting anxiously by Blaze's carriage. "Where are they? They should be here by now!" Maria cried, worried for her friend.

Shadow wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek lovingly, a very rare gesture in public, "they'll be fine. I have full trust in Sonic to save her."

Sally stood with everyone silently match making to keep her mind off her father. 'Vanilla with Vector, defiantly. Cream looks kinda cute with that bee over there. And Maria and Shadow are just meant to be, opposites attract…' she sighed' everyone has someone, but me.'

After a few minutes of silence Knuckles and Rouge walked out the doors, they found out that the doors to the gardens had been locked, and couldn't find a key to open them, Sonic was on his own.

"Are you alright Rouge?" Maria asked, wondering is she had gotten hit by any of the lightening while flying.

"I'm fine Maria; I wish I could say the same for Amy though. Last time I heard her, she was screaming…" Rouge got chocked up, fighting the sob rising in her throat.

Amy

I covered my ears to block out the king's screaming, as he slumped to the floor. A dark blue blur, that I knew was Sonic, kept running back and forth, creating a new wound every time he ran past the king.

Sonic then stopped dead in his tracks, right in front of the king, blocking my view. I scrunched my eyes together, not wanting to see Sonic kill anyone, even him!

Moments later I felt two strong arms around me, I opened my eyes to see Sonic's face hidden in my chest- causing me to blush quite a bit- and he dark fur slowly fading back to its original royal blue.

Sonic

As soon as I felt that all my anger had faded from my body I looked up at Amy, and into her beautiful jade green eyes. I had missed them all night!

"Sonic…" she breathed out my name softly, tickling my ears with her breath. I smiled up at her, putting one arm under her legs –being cautious of her wounds- and another carefully around her back and slowly lifted her up. She wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her head against my chest. I didn't glace back at the cold body crumpled on the floor, it wasn't worth it.

We were both covered in blood, yet none was my own. I didn't even get a scratch. "Sonic?" I heard Amy's timid voice, like a child's.

"Yes Amy?" I replied, looking where I was going.

"W-what happened to you back there?"

That question had caught me off guard, and I had to pause in my step. "I just got angry, why? Are you afraid?" I did not want Amy to ever fear me! It was heart breaking to think I caused her to be scared.

To my relief her answer was "no… you'd never hurt me Sonic." After she had said that I continued walking.

Amy

We soon found that the door was locked, so Sonic had to walk around the building and through the servant's entrance. Sonic then kicked one of the double doors, which leads to where the carriages were kept, open.

As we rounded the corner one gasp after the other was heard. Shouts of mine and Sonic's name were heard and the questions 'are you alright?' and 'what happened?' slowly lulled me into a peaceful slumber, I was safe in Sonic's arms.

Tails

I removed my arms from around Cosmo's shoulder and ran to Sonic. "Sonic, what happened?" I asked on everyone's account.

"The King is dead." Sonic answered, not even looking at me, he couldn't take it eyes of the sleeping girl in his arms.

Sally's gasp made Sonic look up, everyone turned to her, to see her reaction to the news. She was smiling a giddy little smile. "Thank heavens," she whispered "he's finally gone."

'Well that was unexpected.'

"Aren't you the least bit upset? He was your dad after all." Knuckles asked, dumbly, earning a clonk round the head from Rouge. I silently chuckled, as Knuckles rubbed his head.

Queen Cat answer his question, "Any man can be a father, but it takes a great man to be a dad." She smiled in admiration as King Cat wrapped his arm around their daughter's shoulder. "Come," she said "let's all go back to our castle and have a nice, warm cup of tea and a well deserved rest."

We all nodded our heads in agreement.

Normal

Everyone got in a carriage (Sally owned about six).

Sonic, with Amy in his arms, climbed into the first carriage along with Tails and Cosmo. Sally, King Cat, and Queen Cat then went in the next carriage. Blaze, Silver, Vanilla and Cream then got in the third carriage. Knuckles, Rouge, Shadow and Maria then went in the one after. While Vector, Espio and Charmy were in the last carriage.

Normal

Amy was still fast asleep in Sonic's arms, while Sonic, Tails –who was driving, and Cosmo had a quiet conversation.

"Do you love her Sonic?" Cosmo asked, observing the way Sonic tenderly stroked Amy's bangs out of her face.

"Yes," Sonic answered without hesitation. "I love her more than life its self."

Cosmo couldn't help by 'aww' at that, "That's so sweet, Sonic."

"I love you more than life its self too, Cosmo!" Tails called back over his shoulder.

"Shh… You'll wake Amy up." Cosmo scolded him quietly, as Amy stirred in Sonic's lap.

Tails quietly grumbled to himself. "Fine then, last time I tell you I love you." Of course he didn't mean it.

In the last chapter it came to my attention that this story should be classed as M, rather than T. So I have changed the rating of this story to M, I hope this doesn't hinder your opinion of this story in any way and that you continue to read and enjoy. I am also sorry if my former rating for this story misled you in anyway and because it wasn't rated an M you read it and it offended you- this was never my intention, and I have offended anyone because of this story in anyway then I am very sorry.
