Chapter 5: Hometown And Friends! Reunion, Tag Riding Duel!

The Satellite is as smoggy, misty and bleak as ever. Yusei climbs off of his D-Wheel and faces Crow.

He slides down the pile of trash on both feet, leaving his D-Wheel atop it and approaches him, raising his fist.

Yusei raises his fist.

They clasp hands, warmly, up high, down low and a fist bump. "Yusei!" Crow says. "Crow!" Says Yusei. They pat each other on the shoulder, both laughing and grinning. "It's been a long time." Yusei says. "You came back! I came here because I saw a helicopter, but I didn't know you were on it!" Says Crow. He punches Yusei in the gut, playfully. "And you also have a marker!" Crow says. Yusei glances at his mark. "Yeah. You finally completed your D-Wheel." Says Yusei. Crow turns and they're both looking at his D-Wheel sitting atop the trash. "Yeah. It's very cool! With this, I'm going to beat you and Jack!" Crow says.

Elsewhere in the Satellite, the two D-Wheelers go off a high jump, soaring through the air. "Wooooooooooo!" Says Crow, yelling, enjoying himself.

They both land, smoothly, his back wheel shooting up sparks.

"It feels great to ride with you for the first time in a long time!" Crow says.

"Same here." Says Yusei.

They both laugh and ride away.

Later on, the two sit on the edge of a piece of pavement that juts up into the air, their D-Wheels and helmets parked below. "I see. You're caught in a horrible situation." Crow says. "I want to make sure that Rally is safe." Says Yusei. "All right, let's go to your hideout." Crow says. "Crow, there seems to be less people than usual." Says Yusei.

Indeed, they are the only ones anywhere in view.

"This mysterious group recently arrived. Look." Crow says.

They see two robed drones walk out from behind a corner, followed by four entranced bystanders.

"It's rumored that they trick people with their shady lectures and gather them deep within Satellite." Says Crow. "Deep within Satellite?" Yusei asks. "Even Satellite is becoming weird." Says Crow.

In the City, at Carly's apartment.

Jack's standing at the wide-open window of his bedroom, looking at some magazine, which reads 'Jack Atlas is actually from Satellite!' "I…" Jack says, it's hard for him to take in.

Flashback. "Stardust Dragon! Roar! Shooting Sonic!" Says Yusei.

Stardust attacks, Archfiend and Jack are drowned in white, glimmering light. "Aaaaaagh...!"

Change flashback to after the duel. "Impossible… I, the King, lost again?" Jack asks. Yusei looked back at him, worried, but resolute. "I knew you would try to defeat me using the same strategy as before. Since you want to be the King, you lost against your own pride." Says Yusei. The flashback ends.

Back to the present. Jack's glancing out the window.

Out in the main room of the suite, Carly is in the middle of being reprimanded again by her editor, via her laptop screen. "While reporters are running around the City, what have you been doing?" "I have a lot of good reasons why." Carly says. "Carly. If you don't bring me an article I can use, you're fired!" He hangs up. "Ahh! If I reveal that I'm actually a reporter and would like an interview, he'll probably get mad. But, that's my job!" Says Carly.

"So, you're a reporter that's just looking to get information from him." Sakura says.

Carly turns, frightened by the sudden words.

Thankfully, it is Sakura and not Jack.

"Oh, Sakura, I didn't realize you were listening. How much did you hear?" Asks Carly.

"Enough." Sakura says. She has her gloves, arm bracelets and cloak back on, but the hood is down for now. Grim's standing at Sakura's side.

"Are you going to go running to Jack now and tell him?" Asks Carly. Sakura walks over to her, with Grim following beside her, and stops right in front of her. "No, but you should. If you don't tell him the truth, he shall eventually find out on his own." Sakura says. She then walks past Carly, as she does she places the hood on over her head, making the upper half of her face shadowed.

She turns to face Sakura before she leaves. "Wait, where are you going?" Asks Carly.

Sakura turns to face her, making her only able to see her eyes. Grim comes to a halt, already standing in the hallway, waiting for her. "I have some personal things to check up on. I shall probably be gone most of the day. So, don't worry about me telling Jack who you truly are." Sakura says. She closes the door behind her, as she and Grim leave.

Carly then knocks on Jack's door, tentatively. "Uh, excuse me…" Says Carly. She opens the door.

The window's wide-open, the magazine is sitting on the bed, and both Jack and Jace are gone. "Augh! He's not here!" Carly says.

Jack's walking down the middle of the street below, all but invisible, once again wearing his big, white coat one-armed. Jace is keeping pace with him as he walks next to him, clinging to his dad's coat. A tall tower can be seen in the distance.

In Yusei's pals' subway tunnel hideout, a D-Wheel engine can be heard echoing down the tunnel. Saiga and Rally are looking out of the shelter. "Is that the sound of a D-Wheel?" Asks Rally.

Blitz joins them. "Can it be?" Blitz asks.

Yusei and Crow are racing down the tunnel. The latter's at the former's right wing. Yusei's smiling.

Rally sees who it is and lights up. "Hah!" Says Rally.

Yusei stops, Crow right behind him, and waves.

"It's Yusei!" Rally says. "He's back!" Says Blitz.

Taka and Nerve poke their heads up through two windows in the back. "What?" Taka asks. "Yusei?" Asks Nerve.

Yusei climbs off of his D-Wheel and removes his helmet. "I'm happy that everyone's safe." Yusei says.

Rally runs over and hugs him around the waist, then looks up. "Yusei! I knew that you'd come home, Yusei!" Says Rally. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Rally. Saiga, thanks." Yusei says.

"It's fine. Sakura being a close friend of mine, how can I say no to her? And you being her brother makes it even more easier." Says Saiga.

Crow joins them, pulling off his helmet. "Isn't it about time you let me into this group?" Crow asks.

"Crow!" Says both Nerve and Taka. "I'm shocked! That was you?" Blitz asks.

"Yusei isn't the only D-Wheeler in Satellite." Says Crow. He grins.

Suddenly, a voice over a loudspeaker. "We found you, Crow! This is Security! Come out nice and quiet!"

Crow indicates his left cheek marker. "Heh. It seems we brought some unexpected guests." Crow says.

A grenade soars down through the crack in the roof of the tunnel and starts filling the tunnel with smoke.

"Huh?!" Asks Rally.

"This is bad! It's tear gas!" Blitz says.

"Leave it to me. Let's meet at Daedalus Bridge. My hideout is there." Says Crow.

Security guy on loudspeaker. "Crow, come out nice and quiet! You can't escape!"

Crow comes flying out of the stairwell, high above the Security bus parked above the crack in the pavement, lands in front of it and hairpin-turns, zooming away.

One Security guy is rather shocked and the other is resolute. "It's him! We won't let you escape, Crow! We'll capture you with our new weapon!" The 'new weapon' is a little shuttle that detaches from the larger truck and zooms after Crow, with the two officers inside.

"Interesting!" Crow says. He's unfazed, races down the street and banks left onto another empty street. Crow's pleased at the challenge. "It seems you have some skills. Huh?" Asks Crow. He's noticed something.

Yusei's on his D-Wheel and is keeping pace on a parallel street, visible between the buildings. In a wide gap, he merges over to the street Crow's on and rides beside him, grinning.

"Yusei!" Crow says.

"I also feel like playing." Says Yusei.

Crow tosses back his head and laughs. "Hahahahahahaha!"

In the pursuit box, some sort of console ID's Yusei from his D-Wheel and presents a bio. "That's Yusei Fudo. He came back to Satellite." "If he's going to interfere, then we'll also capture him!" "Let's do it!" Both activate duel disks. "We force the Field Spell to activate! 'Speed World' set on!" The other Security guy presses a button on the screen. "Duel Mode on. Autopilot standby." The computer says.

The street around them turns violet, both Yusei's and Crow's consoles and duel disks activate.

"They're starting a duel that uses Tag Force rules." Says Yusei.

"The rules state that two people share a single field and life points. Interesting! Yusei, for the first time in a long time, let's team up!" Crow says.

"Sounds good to me." Says Yusei.

Him, Crow and the two officers together, each start with 4000 life points. "Duel!" All four say.

Carly stops running within view of the metro station and looks around. "Where did he go? Ah…" Asks Carly. Just then, she glimpses Jack through the glass doors of the station, unmistakable from the way he wears his signature coat one-armed.

He's trying to walk through a kiosk and is blocked. "What?" Jack asks. "Please insert a ticket." Says the kiosk computer. "Why can't I pass?" Jack asks, utterly bewildered.

He attracts the attention of a couple young women standing nearby. "Isn't that Jack Atlas?" "It can't be." "But, he looks just like him." "Jack is from Satellite, right?"

"Huh?" Asks Jack.

Carly runs in, getting between him and the ladies. "Uh, there's nothing special about this guy! He's just a person who looks like Jack!" Carly says. "You… Oh!" Says Jack. Carly is dragging him out of there by the wrist.

Outside, behind a pylon that supports the metro rail track, she has dragged Jack aside. Jace is hiding halfway behind him. "What are you doing? Your wounds haven't healed yet! If you walk around, it's going to cause hysteria! The press is looking for you!" Carly says. "You have no right to order me around." Says Jack. "Grrr…" Carly growls under her breath.

Jack walks away, with Jace following after him, slipping off his sling and tossing it aside as he goes.

"At this rate, I won't be able to get my scoop. I have to make my stand." Carly thinks to herself. "I see! Even though I saved you and nursed you back to health, you don't feel the least bit of gratitude! I don't care about anyone who doesn't feel gratitude! You don't even know how to ride a monorail!" Carly says.

Jack stops and stares over his shoulder at her, coldly.

"Everyone!" Says Carly.

"Huh?" Jack asks.

Carly is waving her arms at the scattered passersby. "You want to hear a shocking fact? The former King Jack…" Says Carly.

Jack yanks her behind the pylon and gets in her face. "I'll accompany you for a little while." Jack says, furiously. "That went well." Carly thinks to herself.

A little bit later. Jack's disguised, with a snazzy gray jacket, in lieu of his distinctive white blazer, thin black shades and a navy blue hat. He looks kind of artsy. Carly is holding a striped shopping bag and Jace is licking a lollipop. "Now no one will know it's you!" Says Carly. "I'll make you regret putting me in this situation!" Jack says. "Say whatever you want. You're the one who said that you'll hang out with me." Says Carly. Jack glares. "You…" Jack says. "In order to write the article, I have to unearth Jack's deepest emotions. Ah! I know!" Carly thinks to herself.

Ushio and Minako are peeking out, lurking at a distance. "What are they doing?" Asks Ushio. "I don't know, but that woman is a reporter. If they're together, then Master Atlas and little Jace will fall victim to the press." Minako says.

Carly strides away and Jack, clearly under protest, follows. Their destination, the amusement park.

Meanwhile, in the Satellite. Yusei and Crow are riding ahead of the pursuit box.

"I go first! I summon Gate Blocker in defense position!"

Gate Blocker has 2000 defense points and is a Level 4 monster.

"Those idiots always use the same strategy." Says Crow.

"I release Gate Blocker to summon Gate Blocker Two in defense position!"

Gate Blocker 2 has 3000 defense points and is a Level 6 monster.

"I set three cards and end my turn."

"That's your new strategy? My turn!" Crow says. He draws.

"The Continuous Trap 'Full Throttle'! With this card, 'Speed World' gives me one extra Speed Counter. And due to Gate Blocker Two's monster effect, you can't gain Speed Counters!"

Crow looks over at his hand, Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind, 'Level Retuner', 'Ebon Arrow', Blackwing-Bora the Spear, 'Speed Spell-End of the Storm' and 'Speed Spell-Angel Baton'. "That means, we can't use Speed Spells. It wouldn't be fun if it didn't give you a handicap." Says Crow.

"Next is the Continuous Trap 'Speed Edge'! During each Standby Phase, you take three hundred points of damage multiplied by the difference in our Speed Counters! Our current speed difference is two. Therefore, Crow takes six hundred points of damage!"

Crow gets hit with the damage, a bolt of white light. "Yah!" Crow's life points are down to 3400.

"Are you okay, Crow?" Yusei asks.

"That was nothing. It felt less than a massage. I'll get you back with this! I summon Blackwing-Bora the Spear!" Says Crow.

Blackwing-Bora the Spear has 1700 attack points and is a Level 4 monster.

"Then I use Blackwing's monster effect to Special Summon Gale the Whirlwind! When I have a Blackwing monster on my field, I can Special Summon this monster from my hand." Crow says.

Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind has 1300 attack points and is a Level 3 monster.

"Once a turn, Gale the Whirlwind cuts your monster's attack and defense points in half!" Says Crow.

Gate Blocker 2's defense points are reduced to 1500.

"The Continuous Trap 'Defender's Mind'! This doubles the defense points of a defending monster!"

Gate Blocker 2's defense points rise up to 3000.

"Too bad, Crow!"

"Not only do they have a strong defense, but they also limit our Speed Counters so that they can use their effect to deal damage. This isn't good." Yusei says.

"This is a good time to introduce them to the ace of my deck!" Says Crow.

The light of 'Speed World' turns the streets of the Satellite an eerie purple.

Yusei and Crow swerve around a rock jutting up from the road.

"Level Three Gale the Whirlwind tunes Level Four Bora the Spear!" Crow says.

Gale the Whirlwind collapses into a series of rings and Bora soars through them as they align, every one of his black feathers turning to glowing golden outlines.

"Black wind, turn into wings that rise to the heavens! Synchro Summon! Blackwing Armor Master!" Says Crow.

Blackwing Armor Master has 2500 attack points and is a Level 7 monster.

"Go, Black Hurricane!" Crow says.

"You fool! Its attack points are less than Gate Blocker Two's defense points!"

Armor Master punches at Gate Blocker 2.

"You're the one who's going to take damage!"

"My Blackwing Armor Master can make battle damage become zero!" Says Crow.

As Armor Master pulls away, a large, wedge-like black shard or thorn can be seen stuck in Gate Blocker's facade.

"I set two cards and end my turn!" Crow says.

"Gale the Whirlwind's monster effect ends, and I add the effect of 'Defender's Mind'!"

Gate Blocker 2's defense points rise to 6000.

"With six thousand defense points, you'll never destroy Gate Blocker Two."

"It's my turn. Due to the effects of 'Full Throttle' and Gate Blocker Two, the difference in our speed is four."

The Security guys' speed counters rise to 4.

Yusei and Crow's stay at 0.

"Take 'Speed Edge's effect!"

Crow takes another hit, down to 2200 life points. "Gah!"

"I summon Gate Defender in defense position and end my turn."

Gate Defender has 2000 defense points and is a Level 4 monster.

"Once a turn, that monster can negate our monster's attack." Says Yusei.

Crow has a thumbs-up. "Yusei, I've hammered in a wedge. I leave the rest to you!" Crow says.

"Yeah! Our bond will destroy that wall's defense!" Says Yusei.

Carly and Jack are on a huge, fast, spiraling roller coaster. She is hysterical, but he isn't even fazed.

Next ride, the same. Minako and Ushio, still tailing them, are at least as scared as Carly.

Next, the amusement-park equivalent of the Tower of Terror, the big drop. Carly, Minako and Ushio are screaming, Jack's stony.

Bungee-jumping. Same. Jack flies through the air, arms folded, not even fazed.

By the time they're done, Minako is about ready to throw up and Ushio's being lowered off of the bungee jump by a few attendants, carefully. "All right, all right." "Are you okay, sir?"

A while later, Carly and Jack are sitting on opposite sides of a bench. Jace is sitting on the same side as him, licking at an ice cream cone. "I can't take much more of this." Carly says. "How much longer do I have to hang out with you?" Asks Jack. "He's completely fine? And he hasn't opened up to me at all!" Carly thinks to herself. "This should be enough to pay you back." Jack says. He's walking away.

Jace gets up and follows after his dad, with his ice cream cone still in his hand.

"Uh, please wait!" Says Carly.

Jack doesn't stop. "Enough is enough!" Jack says.

"Jack! It's Jack Atlas!" The speaker is a little kid, who runs up to them.

Jack stops. Jace moves to hide halfway behind him, clinging to his leg. "This man looks like Jack, but it's not him." Says Carly, kindly. "I'm Jack's biggest fan! Everyone says that Jack is a liar, but I'm rooting for him forever!" Jack pats the kid's head and keeps walking, with Jace following close at his side, still clinging to his dad's pants.

The kid's not rebuked. "Jack, make sure you become the King again!"

Jack and Jace head to a large pool of water, a fountain of some kind.

Carly has followed and watches, unnoticed.

Jack pounds the guard railing with his fist.

"Jack…" Carly thinks to herself. She looks around, gets an idea and runs off.

Jack watches the fountain shoot upward, lost in thought. Jace's eyes widen, in amazement, and he has a huge smile, laughing, as he watches the water shoot up.

Then, Jack thinks that he hears a familiar voice. "Jack." The fountain recedes and in the spray of the water, he glimpses Yusei, marked cheek and all, smiling at him. Jack blinks, eyes widening and the vision is gone.

"You can't keep wallowing in self-doubt, Jack." He hears another familiar voice, only this one isn't a vision.

Jack and Jace aren't alone anymore.

Sakura has showed up and is standing beside him, she's now regained her long, red tailcoat, with black lining. Grim's sitting down beside her. "Sakura, I'm sorry." Jack says. "For what?" Asks Sakura. "For what I said to you last night. I should've realized that you were still sensitive on the subject." Jack says. "Yes, well, it isn't like you can change the past." Says Sakura. "Do they still hurt?" Jack asks. "Not anymore, these are two years old. So, no, they don't hurt like they did back then." Says Sakura. Jack reaches for one of her hands and holds it between them, their fingers laced together, like how they used to. It brings back the memories from when they were together back in the Satellite. "I wish I could take everything back. But, like you said, the past can't be changed." Jack says. "However, our future could be in jeopardy. If we don't stop the Dark Signers in time." Says Sakura. "I won't let them ruin anything else." Jack says. At that moment, their respective signs start glowing, not as a warning, but as some sort of bond. "What's all this about then?" Asks Jack. Sakura pulls her hand away and the signs start to go dim. "It is a bond, our dragons. You and I share a bond unlike the other Signers do. We have to be careful with this Signer stuff, though." Sakura says.

Meanwhile, Carly has bought two sodas from a refreshment stand. "He's hurting emotionally. And I was going to use his pain to write an article. Am I a horrible person?" Carly thinks to herself.

"Carly!"

"Huh?" Asks Carly.

Angela hurries up to her. "Angela?" Carly asks. "You must've also heard through the grapevine that Jack Atlas is here." Says Angela. "What? Jack?" Carly asks. "I have to know if he's from Satellite. If he was lying, then what he did was a huge fraud. I'm sure he was lying because he ran away." Says Angela.

Jack, unseen by her, walks up behind her at a distance.

Carly sees him over Angela's shoulder. "Jack is hurting because he lost his King status! I won't allow you to ask him about that!" Carly says. "What are you talking about? It's our job as reporters. Besides, you said it yourself. You hate arrogant, pompous people like Jack!" Says Angela.

Meanwhile, Carly is distracted by Jack, who's looking at her. She shakes her head, frantically. Jack turns and walks away.

Angela gets in Carly's face, oblivious, but noticing that she isn't paying attention. "What? What's wrong?" Angela asks. Carly hands her the sodas and runs after Jack. "You can have these!" Says Carly.

"What's with you?" Angela asks.

Carly runs off, trying to locate Jack. "Where did he go?" Carly thinks to herself. She catches her breath and looks up. In the distance, a needle, perhaps the tallest tower in the City, is visible. "That tower…" Carly thinks to herself.

Flashback. The same tower is visible through Jack's window at the apartment. "You can see it from my apartment." Carly thinks to herself, in voice-over.

Change flashback, to how Jack tried to get on a metro rail with no ticket. "The monorail also goes to that tower." Carly thinks to herself, in voice-over. The flashback ends.

Back to the present. Carly's grey eyes are visible through her glasses, determined.

"My turn!" Says Yusei.

The Security guys' Speed Counters increase to 6. "Our speed difference is now six! 'Speed Edge's' effect activates!"

Yusei's life points decrease from 2200 to 400.

"Hang in there, Yusei!" Crow says.

"I summon Turbo Synchron!" Says Yusei.

Turbo Synchron has 100 attack points and is a Level 1 monster.

"I activate the trap 'Level Retuner'! Armor Master's Level decreases by two!" Crow says.

"He lowered the Level of his own monster?"

"Level One Turbo Synchron tunes Level Five Armor Master!" Says Yusei.

Turbo Synchron glows and turns into rings, Armor Master flies through them, turning into golden outlines, then shining stars.

"The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way!" Yusei says.

A column of bright green light explodes and out of it appears... "Synchro Summon! Roar, Turbo Warrior!" Says Yusei.

Turbo Warrior has 2500 attack points and is a Level 6 monster.

"He lowered the Level so that he could summon that monster! However, it only has two thousand five hundred attack points. Furthermore, due to Gate Defender's monster effect, you can't attack!"

"Unfortunately for you, Turbo Warrior isn't affected by the monster effects of Level Six-or-below monsters. Level Four Gate Defender's monster effect doesn't work!" Yusei says.

"I activate my trap 'Ebon Arrow'! This card lowers Tubro Warrior's attack points by five hundred. However, if its attack points are greater than your defending monster's defense points, the difference is dealt to you as damage. You also take damage equal to the destroyed monster's original defense points!" Says Crow.

"Go, Turbo Warrior!" Yusei says.

"You fool! Attacking a monster with six thousand defense points is suicide!"

"You're the fool! Look at the defense points!" Says Crow.

"What? Zero defense points?" "Why?"

"When Armor Master attacks a monster, it sticks in a Wedge Counter. On the turn that it's removed, you monster's attack and defense points become zero!" Crow says.

"What?" Asks both Security.

"Accel Slash!" Yusei says.

Turbo Warrior hits Gate Blocker 2 and it shatters.

Both officers gasp and their life points sink to 2000.

"Now take the damage from 'Ebon Arrow's' effect!" Says Yusei.

The card image fires an arrow that flies right into the pursuit box.

The two officers cry out and their life points go to 0. All their monitors show a big, red DEFEAT. "He escaped again."

Crow and Yusei fist-bump as they ride away. "We did it, Crow!" Yusei says.

"You've improved your skills by going to the City." Says Crow.

"I guess." Yusei says.

"How's Jack doing? They found out that he's from Satellite, so he went into hiding." Says Crow.

"Jack?" Yusei asks.

"Do you hate him for what happened two years ago?" Asks Crow.

"I don't hate him." Yusei says.

Flashback. Jack watches from the dock, while Yusei dives into the sea after Rally. He takes Stardust out of his deck and rides away down the trash tunnel. "It's the path Jack chose for himself. No one could've stopped him." Says Yusei, in voice-over. The flashback ends.

Back to the present. "I believe in him. No matter how far he falls, he always climbs back up." Yusei says.

"You're right. He's that kind of guy." Says Crow.

"Jack…" Yusei says.

"What about Sakura?" Asks Crow.

"I don't think she hates him for anything, either." Yusei says.

"I'm just glad you were able to find her. It was hard for me to take off and leave the way I did." Says Crow.

"She never blamed you for leaving, Crow. She knew it was hard for you to see her like that. She knew… it was hard for all of us to see her like that." Yusei says.

"How is she? Is she okay?" Asks Crow.

"Well, her attitude and personality haven't changed. She still looks the same, but she does have some sort of marking on her face." Yusei says.

Crow's eyes widen at that. "She's been marked?!" Asks Crow.

Yusei shakes his head. "No, it's not a marker, like what you and me have. I don't know what it is exactly, I questioned her about it, but she seemed sensitive about it so I left it at that. She did say, however, that she had gone through so many excruciatingly painful experiments and tests." Yusei says.

"Experiments and tests?!" Asks Crow, angered.

"Jack didn't know about any of it, they were apparently separated from each other shortly after they got to the City. And she still has Grim with her, too. Grim never left Sakura, he chased after Jack the whole way there just to stay with her." Yusei says.

"That dog was always with Sakura, he'd never leave her. I miss her, she was the first friend I ever made." Says Crow.

"I know, Crow. I know. Oh, she has a few kids now." Yusei says.

"Kids? Wait, you mean with Jack?" Asks Crow.

"Well, one of them is his. She has three of them. She has a set of fraternal twins, they're two. And the boy she has with Jack, he's one." Yusei says.

"She's certainly been through a lot in the past two years. So, if she only has the one boy with Jack. Then, does that mean the twins are... his?" Asks Crow.

Yusei sighs, lightly. "I don't know. But, that's who I think it is, too." Yusei says.

They ride away down the street.

Sunset at the tower. Seagulls are flapping around the concrete base up from which the central shaft of the tower stabs into the sky. The whole thing is caged in turquoise-painted steel beams. Jack's standing at the rail on the top observation platform, staring across the water into the sunset. Sakura's sitting on the rail, next to him, but facing the opposite way. They seem to be having a conversation. Jace has fallen asleep in Sakura's arms, curled up against her chest. Grim's sitting down at her feet.

Minako and Ushio are watching from a distance. "If you want to talk to him, isn't this the right time?" Asks Ushio, aside to Minako. She squares her shoulders and prepares to confront Jack, when they hear…

"Jack." Carly apparently had the exact same thought, approaching Jack, Sakura, Jace and Grim. "You were planning to come here the entire time." Carly says. She stops a distance away. "You… can't see Satellite from here." Says Carly, very hesitantly.

"Huh?!" Jack asks. He's been found out. Jack quickly looks from the corner of his eye at Sakura, who is looking aside to him, as well. "Go ahead, Jack." Says Sakura, soothingly. "Two years ago, I came to this city from Satellite." Jack says.

Flashback. Jack rides away from the waterfront on the white D-Wheel he stole from Yusei and takes the trash tunnel to the city. "I threw away my hometown and my friends." Says Jack, in voice-over. The flashback ends.

Back to the present. "I lost everything and all I received in exchange was the King's path of self-delusion and foolishness. I was a stupid duelist who forgot who he was." Jack says.

"Oh…" Says Carly, sadly.

"Now that I've lost everything, I finally realize what truly kept me going." Jack says.

"If you know that, then you should start your life anew. The old Jack died in his battle against Yusei. The real Jack Atlas starts his life now. And try to become a real King." Says Carly.

Jack glances over at Sakura again. "Is that possible?" Jack asks. "It is." Says Sakura. She then places her hand on Jack's shoulder. "However, you have to believe in yourself first." Sakura says.

Flashback. A much younger Rally looks up from watching Yusei work on a white D-Wheel and runs up to Jack. "Huh? Ah! Jack!" Says Rally, overjoyed.

Blitz, Nerve and Taka are sitting nearby, also greeting Jack. "Hey Jack." Blitz says. "Jack." Says Nerve. "Jack!" Taka says.

Yusei, jacket off, walks over, having left off work on the D-Wheel. This was back when he wasn't marked yet. "Jack!" Says Yusei. His fist is still smudged with engine grease, the two go to bump fists, the flashback changes before the fists touch.

It changes to a view of the ocean, the waves hitting the rocks. Jack and Sakura, without the marking, are alone, aside from Grim, who's sitting nearby, holding each others hands. He pulls her closer to himself, with his arms wrapped around her. The flashback ends before their lips can meet.

Back to the present. Jack takes off the shades. "You're right." Jack says. He throws the hat into the air.

Carly watches, with dismay, as the hat goes flying off over the sea.

Jack helps Sakura down from the railing and then turns, smiling. Jace wakes up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Jack then takes him from Sakura and holds him up high in the air, making him smile and laugh. Grim gets up, standing at her side. "I'll no longer be confused. I'll travel my own path." Says Jack.

"Jack!" Carly says. She holds up the striped shopping bag she's been carrying this whole time.

In a flourish, Jack has his white blazer on once more, he's now holding Jace in one of his arms. "You can write whatever you want about me." Says Jack.

"I've decided that I won't write an article that would hurt duelists, including you." Carly says. "Because I've finally started to understand how you feel." Carly thinks to herself.

"Do whatever you want." Says Jack. He walks past her and away toward the building at the top of the tower, taking Jace with him. Sakura not too far away from his side, with Grim following alongside her.
