Chapter 8
Veronica opened her eyes and stretched her arms to feel Logan's arms tighten
around her in his sleep. Then she heard him mumble "to early to get up."
Veronica giggled "it's eight. "
he snuggled closer "it's Sunday. The kids are still sleeping. " five minutes
later they heard lo from down stairs "mom uncle Eli here to see you." Logan
pouted and said "no" Veronica laughed and got out of bed.
Eli
Veronica walked down stairs to find Eli and the kids around the kitchen table
eating pancakes that Mrs Navarro was making. "Hey weevil what's up?"
Eli smiled "I had a great night with Carmen last night. I thought you'd like to
hear that were getting serious again."
Veronica smile grew bigger "I knew it." She said as Mrs. Navarro put a plate of
pancakes in front of her "you need to eat. My grand baby hungry."
Eli laughed "you know she sees you as family."
Veronica looked shocked "hey only her. You are family weevil. I kinda like
having three brothers."
Veronica laughed towards him. Eli looked at her seriously "you know I think of
you as family v. Nothing's going to change that."
Veronica smiled at him "so when can Carmen and I go wedding dress shopping? "
she said as Logan walked down stairs.
Eli got up " we just got back together relax. Damn little sisters."
Veronica faked shocked look "hey hey hey."
Eli kissed her check " I gotta go open the shop and this way you can call
Carmen."
Veronica laughed "who me. "as he left.
Logan looked at Veronica "wedding dress shopping? "he asked
"they are so getting married soon. " she answered.
Mac
Mac and the kids walked into the surf shop. Mac gave dick a kiss ,Cassie was
talking to Lynn on her i Phone and Ricky went into the back room.
McKenzie walked over to the new shipment of surf gear. "Dad can we go surfing
soon?"
Dick laughed "sure maybe next weekend." He answered as his youngest son went to
find his sister and brother.
Dick looked over at Mac "at least one of my sons want to surf."
Mac looked at him "Ricky loves you he's just likes different things. He tries so
hard to like it dick. maybe you can try that hard to like something he likes.
There's a new book store opening you can take him to."
Dick groaned "if i have to."
Mac shook her head and yelled I'm going to aunt Veronica and uncle Logan's house
if you guys want to come with me. "
Ricky and Cassie came out from the back ready to go. Mac smiled "Were is your
brother "in back he wants to stay here and help dad." Cassie answered.
Mac looked at dick "don't forget dinner with the Kane's tonight."
Dick shook his head "Logan agreed?"
Mac shrugged "I'll find out."
Echolls
Mac rang the bell and lo answered the door in shorts and a black tang top.
Mac smiled as she saw her daughter turn red and she thought to herself that rush
of puppy love. Mac looked at lo "were is your mom and dad?"
Lo let them in And replied "dad's with Lynn upstairs in her room fixing
something and mom's by the pool with aunt Carmen talking."
Mac smiled "great I'm dieing to know about the date."
As she left Ricky asked lo what he was doing "watching last nights baseball
game."
Ricky shrugged "cool as he sat down." Cassie who sat down next to lo asked
"Who's playing?"
Lo moved over a little said angels and Yankees. You know Lynn up stairs right?"
Cassie nodded and moved closer and frowned when lo got up. "you guys want
anything to drink?" He said walking to the kitchen.
Ricky looked up from the TV "sure"
Cassie however followed him to the kitchen. "whens your next game?"
lo thought for a second and said" I think Friday."they both turned around when
they heard Logan.
" Lo were is your mom?" Lo drank his water out back with aunt mac and Carmen."
Lynn who was behind her dad looked at her friend and whispered "why didn't you
come up stairs?"
Cassie who looked at lo again and smiled "los down here." Lynn garbed her arm
and dragged her upstairs as lo sat down and handed Ricky a water.
Back yard
Logan walked out to hear his wife and two friends talking about men he laughed
to himself and listened for a second and heard mac ask something about sex when
Carmen said that they haven't had sex yet well this time around. He decided to
listen a little more.
Mac continued "I'm telling you if the sex is good it will last. Come on v back
me up."
veronica laughed "don't drag me into this."
Mac looked at her skeptical " right cause you and Logan never have sex."
Veronica stuck her tongue out at mac.
Carmen laughed and said "okay its just us. who was the best you've ever had?"
Logan trying really hard to hold in his laughter couldn't wait to hear veronica
answer . Mac spoke up first and said "okay don't tell dick but bronston."
veronica laughed "the environmentalist."
Mac nodded . "okay bond your turn."
Veronica thought for a second "Logan but don't you ever tell him his head is
big enough as it is."
Mac looked at her" okay defend why?
With piz there was just nothing there and with Duncan was just mechanics. I
don't know safe."
Carmen and mac laughed and said "boring" at the sometime.
Veronica continued Logan's always full of passion , I don't know with him its
always fireworks. Like those toes tingling moments especially when hes angry."
Carmen laughed again "come on you never faked it with him once in all these
years."
Veronica shook her head "nope never had too." When both women looked at her she
smiled "trust me my husband has some serious skills."
Logan couldn't take it anymore died laughing they all turned around "women are
worse then men."
veronica looked at him and asked "how much did you hear?" Logan tried to stop
laughing "enough! so I have skills huh wanna elaborate?"
Veronica rolled her eyes "did you want something?"
Logan thought for a second "dick called he wants to know what time are we going
to that stupid dinner?"
veronica turned around "six pm."
Logan laughed "come on you cant really be mad?"
Veronica looked at him again " I'm not talking to you. Logan shook his head as
he went in the house saying "okay baby well have angry sex later."
veronica looked at Carmen "thanks for watching the kids for us."
Carmen replied "no problem ." as mac walked into the house yelling "Logan if you
tell dick I swear."
Dinner
As the couples walked into the restaurant dick spotted Duncan and his wife who
seemed to be fighting.
Logan whispered in veronica's ear "this is such a bad idea."
veronica shushed him as they sat down with them. They all sat in silence for a
while when Duncan looked at veronica "how's your mom doing ?"
"still no change but it could be worse." She answered.
Mac smiled at Isabella "we all know way to much about each other.
Tell us about yourself?" Isabella took a sip of water "not much to tell. I was
born and raised in Italy."
Mac nodded and looked at veronica and asked "when did you and Duncan meet?"
Isabella smiled at Duncan "we meet in Australia when I was on summer vacation.
We emailed for a while and visited. I fell in love with Lilly."
veronica and mac excused themselves and went to the bathroom. Veronica looked at
mac from the mirror "shes not going to say anything in front of the guys."
Mac shrugged "it was worth a shot."
veronica laughed and shook her head as Isabella walked in towards a mirror to
fix her make up. "you two will never find out anything so stop trying."
veronica smiled "I'm sorry what?"
Isabella turned towards them you know you were smart to choose Logan. I bet he's
amazing in bed. I mean if the feel of his thigh is any inclination."
Veronica was getting angry now "okay i'm done I know you and Celeste are behind
all this. I promise you I will prove it and you will pay. As for my husband keep
your hands off him."
Isabella pretended to be scared "or what ? " she said as she left the bathroom.
As soon as they got back to the table Logan pulled veronica to him and whispered
in her ear "I told you this was a bad idea. We so need to leave NOW."
Veronica looked at Duncan and said " I'm so sorry but i'm not feeling well." she
looked at Logan "we should go home."
Logan smiled "okay. This was fun."
once they got in the car she sent mac a text "i'm sorry Logan was going to lose
it. When I call you say its the sitter and you have to leave." Mac tested back
"hurry up."
