AN: Primrose's POV

"You're really coming with us?" Merlin says, struggling with the buckle of his seat belt.

"Ms. Everdeen-Melark made a very strong argument for why she should see you two through to the end of this," Dr. Guinan explains, "So I agreed."

I see Merlin's eyes brighten when he says that. I reach out and put my hand on top of his.

This also gives me some time to think.

Time to think about what to do about me and Merlin. I have to admit, I was having trouble letting him go now that the time had come, but I was also concerned about Merlin. And then, suddenly a whole new option was opened: He offered to stay here with me. He offered to leave behind his friends, his friends, his family, his entire life, just to be with me.

I'd probably be mad if I hadn't have had the same idea. Only in reverse. I go with him.

Out of the two of us I'm the most logical choice to make the move. Both my parents are dead, the only other family I have is a brother who might as well not exist for all I see him, and I have no friends, and nothing to lose.

Of course there's one problem with either plan: We've only known each other over a week, if this ends one of us would be alone in a strange world.

The situation could be fixed simply with one of us putting a ring on the others finger, but once again, we haven't known each other that long!

I look over at Merlin. He looks over at me.

"You alright?" I ask, " You're not sick or anything are you?"

"No," He replies, "You?"

"Find," I say.

"Ah, I'm fine, too," Arthur pipes up, "Thanks for asking."

"Sorry, Arthur," I say.

"It's alright," Arthur said, "I understand. I'm not your one true love."

Both me and Merlin turn to look at him.

"What?" Arthur asks, "Too soon?"

"A little," I say, leaning back. And then it hits me: What's a week and then some when you've packed enough in it that it might have as well been months, years even? We've nearly died twice. I've held his hand while he writhed in pain, not knowing wheatear he would make it or not. He's risked his life and his friend's in order to keep me from becoming a Mutt's dinner. We've told each other our deepest secrets. Since the magic cat got out of the bed he's told me about being a Dragon Lord, his destiny, and how he got so good at hiding he was magic. I told him everything about my family, the work I did with the colonist, everything. We've been though more than some couples who have been together for two years.

Suddenly the decision doesn't see that hard.

The sun's set by the time we get to their head quarters, placed right on the line where the Districts meet the New Capitol. They set us up in a room for the night, telling us we'll get started in the morning. Now's my chance.

When I go into the room, Merlin and Arthur are preparing to go to bed. They managed to scrap up three actually beds and since there the first beds we'd seen in a while I'd probably be falling into mind if I wasn't preparing my offer. Now to just get the third wheel out of the way. "Arthur," I say.

He looks up at me.

"I need to talk to Merlin," I say, "In private."

He complied without question, but mumbling something about 'Don't say I didn't warn you,' leaving me alone with Merlin, and from the look on his face, I know he knows what this is about. "So," He says, "I guess you've made your decision."

"Something like that," I reply, "I have a counter offer for you. Why don't I go back with you?"
