Chapter 22: Sage Showdown - Part 2

Back at the HQ dining room, the gang was talking about the win.
Kelly sighed and replied, "That was a really tough duel for me."
Colbie then replied, "I enjoyed every minute of it. You duel like a true pro."
She took a card out of her pocket and she replied, "Every sage gives a prize to its winner and these cards are for you."
Kelly grabbed the card and replied, "Quite a powerful monster."
Colbie then replied, "Carly gave it to me along time ago before I switched to Sylvan monsters, so I never used it once. Go ahead and use it ."
Kelly nodded and replied, "I'll just have to do that, my friend."
"Sounds good to me."
Ginny looked at Blackhawk and replied, "Want a duel in our time after all this Savage Beast crap is finally done and over with?"
Blackhawk smiled and replied, "I thought you'd never ask, sis. I can't wait to duel you."

In her office, Carly was talking with the last 3 sages about the duels to come.
Carly then replied, "You ready for this duel, Parker? She is very powerful duelist."
He laughed and repleid, "Yes, ma'am. With the mighty monsters I use, she'll never know what'll hit her until its too late, Carly."
Carly then replied, "Lets hope you're ready for anything, Sebastian. She has alot of different monsters, but uses them all like a pro."
Parker nodded and replied, "I know, but I am sure my deck is ready for anything she tries to send my way. I have some of the best monsters of that type in my deck, so I'll be good to go in our duel."
"I hope you are. I wanted you as my sage ever since I watched you have your training duel to become a member of the Fighters."
"I'm glad to be one still and I'll always fight by your side, Carly."
"Thats the spirit."

Meanwhile back in the past at their HQ, Shade, Slade and Bulldog were talking about stuff.
Bulldog smiled and replied, "Man, everyone has been in a great mood ever since Zander quit!"
Slade then replied, "I'm so glad that douchebag is gone away from us. Never, ever, ever liked at all and he was a total dick."
Shade then replied, "I know, but too bad we don't about his counterfeiting friend. He could of really helped us with some of the best cards in the game."
"I know, with Zander not around anymore, we all enjoy being here even more then before, sir."
Shade nodded and replied, "That is that matters, I guess. I wonder where those girls haven been. I haven't heard a word from since they beat the rest of my duelists."
Bulldog then replied, "I have no idea, sir. Its been quiet around the city."
"That just seems odd to me right now."
He looked at Bulldog and replied, "If you anyone else in our group finds out anything about, let me know right away."
Bulldog saluted and replied, "Yes, sir."
He slowly walked out of the office and Slade then replied, "We'll find them soon, dad."
"I hope so, son."

Later that night in their cafe, Sledge and Jacob were talking about anything they could think of.
Sledge then replied, "How does it feel to be a high ranking member?"
"Its awesome, Sledge. I'm so glad we're high ranking members now."
"We're both doing so much better that that asshole Zander will ever do."
Jacob then replied, "No joke. I'm glad my dead army wiped him out."
Sledge then replied, "Me too. After we got off in a few hours, you got any plans, Jacob?"
"Just heading to my bunks for a little rest."
Sledge smiled and replied, "Want to head to that new nightclub in downtown Minneapolis for a little fun?"
"Hell ya! I'm in."
Sledge then replied, "I already got it okay'd by Shade and he's letting us do what ever we want as long as we don't blow our cover as members of the group. We don't need ANY extra attention."
"I totally agree. Lets wash up and head out."

Meanwhile in the duel arena in Duluth. Zander was in a duel against a teenaged boy named Ronnie while a small group of his friends were watching.. He had a Archfiend Soldier (ATK: 1,900) Optilclops (ATK: 1,800) and his Dark Ruler Ha Des (ATK: 2,450) and 1 facedown card and Ronnie had a 2 facedown monsters and 1 facedown card and Its Zander's turn and he just tributed his Gil Garth to bring out Ha Des.
(Zander LP: 6000 - Ronnie LP: 5800)
Zander then replied, "I'm going to wipe you out! Soldier, attack!"
The soldier went in and a Masked Dragon appeared on the card (DEF: 1,100) and was cut in two with the soldiers sword struck.
Too bad you can't use your dragons due to my Ha Des's effect! Gil Garth, attack!"
The metal fiend went in and a Spirit Ryu appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and the fiend struck with his sword, blowing the windy dragon to little pieces.
"Ha Des, attack directly!"
The fiend opened his hands and fired a huge burst of green flames and they shot out and struck him (Ronnie LP: 5800 - 3350).
Zander laughed and replied, "Pathetic. I end my turn now."
Ronnie drew a card and replied, "I first play Treasured Cards from Heaven!"
Suddenly, they both drew until they each had 6 cards in their hand and then Ronnie resumed, "I now summon Lord of Dragons!"
As he sat the card down, the dragonic spellcaster appeared (ATK: 1,200).
"I now play Flute of Summoning Dragons!"
As the flute appeared and he played it, Tyrant Dragon (ATK: 2,900) and Divine Dragon Ragnarok appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I now play Polymerization to fuse my 2 monsters together!"
As Ragnarok and Lord of Dragons merged together, King Dragun appeared (ATK: 2,400).
Zander then replied, "Boring."
"I now activate my other facedown card and its my Dragon's Mirror and I'm going to fuse the Summoned Skull and the Red Eyes Black Dragon that sent there earlier!"
As the two monsters appeared and merged, Black Skull Dragon appeared (ATK: 3,200).
Zander then replied, "Jeez."
"Next, I discard 1 card to Play D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation!"
As he discarded a Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV4 to his graveyard, Red Eyes Black Dragon appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I now use my King Dragun's ability now!"
Suddenly, a odd-looking dark dragon appeared (ATK: 2,500).
"This is my Odd Eyes Dragon!"
Zander groaned and replied, "I'm fucked now."
"Yep. Tyrant Dragon, attack!"
The dragon launched its dark flames and both fiends exploded into little pieces as the flames struck.
"Odd Eyes, attack!"
The dark dragon launched its dark blast of flames and Ha Des exploded into a cloud of black & green smoke.
"Since my Odd-Eyes Dragon destroyed a monster, you take damage equal to half of the original attack of your monster! King Dragun, Black Skull Dragon and Red Eyes Black Dragon, attack!"
The three dragons launched their attacks and they shot and struck Zander, ending the duel (Zander LP: 6000 - 0).
Ronnie laughed and repleid, "Pathetic."
Zander growled and replied, "You just got lucky!"
The girl behind Ronnie laughed and replied, "My boyfriend schooled you good!"
The group of kids turned around and began to leave the arena and Zander groaned and replied, "Danm, that was a hard loss. Time for bed and then I'll meet with my buddy later on tomorrow."

Back in the future, the gang was sitting down while Parker and Christina stood across from each other, waiting to give each other a great duel.
Carly then replied, "The 2nd sage duel will begin now! Activate your disks!"
Both did so and both drew 5 cards from their decks as well.
"BEGIN DUELING!"
"Game on!", Both yelled out.
(Parker LP: 8000 - Christina LP: 8000)
Carly then replied, "Christina, go ahead."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster and thats my turn."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I summon my Mechanicalchaser!"
As he sat the card down, the machine with many linbs appeared (ATK: 1,850).
"Attack her facedown monster!"
The machine went in and a Molten Zombie appeared on the card (DEF: 400) and the machine struck with its proded arm and it burst into globs of lava that flew everywhere.
"I end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I banish it to summon my Inferno!"
As she banished her Molten Zombie, the fiery bonfire appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I offer it for my Thestalos!"
As the bonfire vanished, the fiery titan appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"Discard the 2nd card from the right!"
He turned it around and it was a trap called Metal Reflect Slime and Christina replied, "No big deal."
The titan swung his fist and a burst of hot flames shot out and melted the machine into a pile of fiery slag (Parker LP: 8000 - 7450).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I'll set 3 cards facedown and 1 monster facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I Summon my Great Angus!"
As she sat the card down, the fiery boar-like beast appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Lets do it. Great Angus, attack!"
The fiery beast went in and a Dokoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive appeared on the card (DEF: 1,000) and with one headbut, the evil train was blown into a pile of fiery metal and Parker drew a card.
"Thestalos, direct attack!"
The fiery titans arms began to glow..
Parker smiled and replied, "Since you're about to direct attack me, I can destroy all of my facedown spell and trap cards to special summon this mighty machine!"
As the 3 facedown cards lifted up and shattered to bits, a huge train with a snow plow as a locomotive appeared (ATK: 2,500).
"This is my Snow Plow Hustle Rustle and now, you take 200 damage for each destroyed spell and trap card!"
Suddenly, she let out a groan (Christina LP: 8000 - 7400) and then Parker smiled and replied, "my facedown cards were Dummy Marker, Dark Coffin and a Shard of Greed. I get to draw a card with my Dummy Marker and you have to discard a random card or destroy 1 of your monsters with Dark Coffin!"
Christina then replied, "Discard a card."
She showed the back of the 4 cards in her hand and he replied, "The far right card."
She took the card (Which was a UFO Turtle) and discarded it and she sighed and replied, "Dang. I end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I now summon my Ruffian Railcar!"
As she sat the card down, a loud horn was heard as a large red train appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Next, I activate the spell card Covering Fire!"
The spell card appeared on the field.
"When I activate this card, all machines I control gain 500 attack."
Suddenly, both machines began to glow (ATK: 2,500 - 3,000) - (ATK: 1,800 - 2,300).
Kelly then replied, "What with this guys trains?"
Parker smiled and replied, "If you want to know before I came here, I was a conductor for the Light Rail in Minneapolis for about 15 years and I was one of the best ones ever. I retired about 10 years before the Savage Beast Takeover of the city. I Now attack your Great Angus with my Railcar!"
The machine rushed and crushed Great Angus to pieces with its weight.
"Hustle Rustle, attack!"
The larger train charged and slammed into Thestalos, blowing the titan into a fiery cloud of smoke (Christina LP: 7400 - 6400).
"There you go! I end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I play Shrink!"
Suddenly, Hustle Rustle shrank down a little bit (ATK: 3,000 - 1,500).
"I now summon my Magna Drago!"
As she sat the card down, the small fiery dragon appeared in a puff of soot (ATK: 1,400).
"I now banish 1 more fire monster for my Spirit of Flames!"
As he banished the card, the fiery demon-like Pyro appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I now tune my 2 monsters together!"
Magna Drago split apart into two white stars, with each one transforming into a green virtual ring. The two rings went throught Spirit of Flames, which transformed into four white stars. As this was happening, Christina closed her eyes and began to chant.
"A fiery warrior that was formed in a large volcano appears in a fiery blaze of glory! It uses its fiery firsts to incinerate its enemies! Synchro Summon! Burn it up...Flamvell Urquizas!"
As he sat the card down, the volcanic warrior appeared (ATK: 2,100).
"Attack!"
The fiery Warrior went in and punched the huge train with its fist and sparks flew from where it was punched and then the huge train exploded into scrap (Parker LP: 7450 - 6850) - (ATK: 2,100 - 2,400).
"I end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster and use Railcars ability! You now take 500 damage!"
Suddenly, she began to glow (Christina LP: 6400 - 5900).
"I'll keep it in attack postion and that'll end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "Sweet! I summon my Flame Bear!"
As she sat the card down, a bear sculpted out of flames appeared with a roar (ATK: 2,000).
"Lets do it. Urquizas, attack!"
The volcanic warrior went in and punched the train, blowing it to scrap (Parker LP: 6850 - 6750) and then his fists began to glow even more (ATK: 2,400 - 2,700) and then he replied, "When Railcar is destroyed in battle, I can add a level 10 or higher machine monster from my deck to my hand!"
He took a monster from his and placed it in his hand and then she replied, "Flame Bear, attack!"
The beastly Pyro went in and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and with one burst of flames from its mouth, reduced the jar into a pile of powder and both discarded their current hands and drew 5 cards and then she replied, "Okay then. I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I activate Special Schedule and this spell allows me to special summon a Machine in my graveyard with 3,000 or more attack in faceup defense postion and I choose my Night Express Knight!"
As he played the spell card, a robot-like knight appeared and knelt (DEF: 3,000).
"I added it to my hand with my Railcars ability and I discarded it with my jar! I now summon my Express Train Trolley Olley!"
As he sat the card down, another train came onto the field (ATK: 1,800).
I now activate my Southern Stars spell card! This makes the level of a monster I control 10 until the end phase!"
Suddenly, Trolley Olley began to glow (LV: 4 - 10).
"I now overlay my 2 monsters!"
both monsters turned into white orbs and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"With these monsters, I construct the overlay network and Xyz Summon! Appear before me...Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max!"
As he sat the card down, a train with a HUGE cannon for a weapon appeared (ATK: 3,000).
Kelly then replied, "Whoa baby."
Lucas then replied, "What a machine."
"Since I used Trolley Rolley in a Xyz Summon, that monster gets 800 attack!"
Suddenly, the huge machine began to glow (ATK: 3,000 - 3,800).
"Lets do it. attack!"
The huge cannon fired a huge burst of energy and Urquizas was atomized as it struck him (Christina LP: 6400 - 5300) and Parker smiled and replied, "Since I destroyed a monster with my cannon, I can remove 1 Xyz Material monster now to inflict 2000 damage to you!"
Christina quickly replied, "No way! I activate Breakthrough Skill!"
The trap appeared and then Parker sighed and replied, "You lucked out. I end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I now play One Day of Peace!"
the spell card appeared and she replied, "We both draw a card and both don't take any damage until the end of your next turn, Parker!"
As the spell card vanished, they both drew a card and she replied, "I'll set a monster and 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I now summon my Robotic Knight."
As he sat the card down, the fiery android soldier appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"Lets do it. Gustaph Max, attack!"
The huge cannon fired a burst of energy and Blaze Bear exploded into a fiery cloud of smoke.
"Knight, attack!"
The machine fired a barrage of shells and a Flamvell Paun appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and exploded into shards as the bullets struck it down and then she took a monster from her deck and put it in her hand.
"Whatever. I end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I summon Flamvell Firedog!"
As he sat the card down, the fiery hellhound appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I now play Riyoku!"
As the huge cannon train began to glow (ATK: 3,800 - 1,900), so did Firedog (ATK: 1,900 - 3,800).
Lucas smiled and replied, "Yea!"
Ginny nodded and replied, "Good move."
"Attack!"
The fiery beast shot out its flames and it shot out and struck the huge train. small explosions started all over the machine before it exploded into a globs of fiery slag that flew everywhere (Parker LP: 6750 - 4850).
"I activate my Firedogs ability to special summon a monster with 200 DEF from my deck and I choose my Flamvell Grunika!"
As he sat the card down, the fiery dragon appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Now, attack!"
The dragon let out a burst of flames and it shot and Robotic Knight was blown to scrap as the flames struck it (Parker LP: 4850 - 4750).
"Now you take 200 damage times the level of your monster!"
Suddenly, he let a groan (Parker LP: 4,750 - 3950).
"That is all I can do for now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster facedown and 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I tribute both of my monsters to summon my Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos!"
As the two fiery creatures vanished into bonfires of burning flames, the large fiery dragon ruler appeared with a roar (ATK: 2,800).
"Lets do it. Attack!"
The dragon opened its mouth and fired a huge burst of hot flames and a Gear Golem The Iron Fortress appeared on the card (DEF: 2,200) and the flames melted the bulky machine into a pile of fiery metal.
"I end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I activate my Soul Charge spell card and I can special any number of monsters from my deck and I choose my Snow Plow Hustle Rustle and my White Express Knight!"
Suddenly, Night Express Knight (ATK: 3,000) and then the train with the snow plow appeared ATK: 3,000) and he groaned and replied, "I now take 1000 damage for each special summoned monster and I lose my battle phase as well."
He let out a groan (Parker LP: 3950 - 1950) and then he replied, "I overlay my 2 monsters!"
They turned into black orbs and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"With these monsters, I construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear now..Skypalace Gangaridai!"
As he sat the card down, a huge airship appeared in mid-air (ATK: 3,400).
Carly then replied, "His best card!"
Lucas then replied, "I've heard of that thing and its powerful!"
"I use its ability! By removing 1 Xyz Material monster and losing my battle phase, I can destroy one of your monsters and you'll take 1000 damage!"
As he discarded the Hustle Rustle, the huge airship opened up and a huge barrage of missles shot and the mighty dragon let out a roar of pain before it exploded into a fiery cloud of black smoke and soot (Christina LP: 5300 - 4300).
"I end my turn now."
Christina drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Parker drew a card and replied, "I play Hidden Armory!"
As he discarded the top card of his deck to the graveyard, he took a equip spell card from his deck and placed in his hand and then he replied, "I discarded a Night Express Knight and since I have 2 level 8 or higher monsters, I can banish them to equip my Skypalace with Train Connection!"
As he took the Hustle Rustle and Night Express Knight cards and banished them, the airship began to glow (ATK: 3,400 - 6,800).
Ginny then replied, "Damn man."
Lucas then replied, "I hope that facedown monster can help her out."
"This equip spell doubles my machines attack power and not it can do piercing damage!"
Kelly then replied, "I hope this isn't the end for her."
Carly sighed and replied, "They may be the end for your friend."

Note: This card was used by Anna Kaboom in the Yugioh Zexal episode "Love Hurts" and creative credit goes to the writers of that episode. Note 2: This card was released in the TCG, but its anime effect is much better to use, so I'll be using this one instead.
Covering Fire (Manga) / Nomral Spell Card

Damn it, its a cliffhanger! Will she be able to survive and win the duel? We'll find out that in the next chapter and after that, Lucas duels Ingrid and what kind of deck does she use and what deck will he use?
