Hey everyone, happy friday and time for an update. We all know the hardship Jay is now going through after what he done to Electro for revenge, but you have to wonder, how will his friends and relatives react if they found out he was killed off by Spiderman? Let's find out.
Chapter 20: Feuds with Spiderman's Actions
Nervousness swam through the blue ninja as he paced around in the foyer of his aunt's condominium complex. His palms were sweaty and every time he dried them on his gi, perspiration of sweat would form on his palms. His eyes felt heavy with tiredness, but he kept prying them open to stay awake. He couldn't sleep last night after what he had done. The guilt had consumed him and refused to let him sleep or focus. And it was making him more nervous and guilty when he was going to tell his aunt, parents, and friends about Electro, but wasn't going to expose himself as Spiderman in the next room over. He hated lying but it was the only way to keep his secret and they would understand and not suspect the lie. But one didn't appreciate his actions.
After his fight in the subway tunnels and killing the electric man, the lightning ninja had told Jay 2 why he needed him last night after he realized he couldn't sleep. His counterpart was angered at his decisions to kill a man when he wanted to help him before. It was immoral for a ninja like him to do that, but Jay explained it was for revenge and his anger had taken over. He never meant for it to happen. And Jay 2 understood, but he said he wouldn't forgive him for it. Who could blame him? Spiderman was becoming a murderer than a hero to him. This was going to be hard for him for when he was going to tell the others.
Sighing, the blue ninja finally collected himself and his thoughts to turn on the balls of his feet and slowly entered his aunt's family den with a solemn look. He felt serenity still every time he entered the forest green room with the granite fireplace and library corner that rested behind the couch that had Cole, Zane, and Kai seated. Reminded him that he was eight and meeting his relatives for the first time and ended being bored on that couch. He turned his head to see Lucas, Laurie, and Lloyd were seated at the bay window which made him think of the night his uncle was murdered as he seated there before he ran off. He couldn't rethink of that and turned away to see his parents were together on the small love seat couch that was adjacent from the window. Next to him, Nya stood by his side and she sensed he needed support. He smiled to her for it and looked with his hazel eyes to his aunt's across the room seated in her lounge chair across from his parents and next to the television. He sighed as this was going to be hard.
"Jay, you've called us to your aunt's complex for some news to share." Zane spoke up to make the auburn turn to him. "Are you going to present the news to us or not anymore. I can sense you feel rather distraught on something."
Indeed he was. He was guilty for murders he never meant to happen, except for his anger consuming him. First was the accused man he mistaken and second was Electro. Well the more he thought of it, Electro's death was more necessary for him to do after he knew the truth. But still his anger was the causes of those deaths for him to commit the crimes that went against his nature as a ninja and Spiderman. His uncle would be disappointed with him for what he was now.
Sighing, he nodded slowly and kept his eyes locked onto his relatives, but mostly toward his aunt. He drew in a deep breath to feel his back softly patted from Nya to sadly smile to her, but it soon disappeared as he walked to his aunt to kneel next to her. This was going to surprise and hurt her, he just knew it. "I know who killed Uncle Ben." he sadly replied with his head bowed in shamed.
A quiver gasp escaped from Mary's lips to what she heard to make her heart shatter slowly. Ed was even surprised about the one responsible for his brother's death to feel his wife comforting him by squeezing his hand and laid his free hand over it to pat it comfort. The inventor could see his son's friends looks as they were a bit surprised, eyes and ears demanding to know more and even help capture the one responsible. So who then? "Do you know who told you about it, son?" he asked while moving a lock of grey hair out of his eyes.
The auburn teen turned to his father to nod. This made his friends tense up to the news and were determine to help as he could see it in their eyes. But deep down inside him, there was nothing they could do to help out since it was taken care of already. The tricky part now was the lie to convince them. He drew in a breath to let it out in a low sigh. "Spiderman told me." the Ninja of Lightning lied for the sake of his secret. "He's the one who told me."
"Wait our enemy who's been stealing our thunder told you?" Kai snapped with his brows furrowed in annoyance. "Why him? And why you alone? If he had information to share, he should've told all of us as well and it would've been our chance to unmask this freak and make him stop being a superhero." He felt something jabbed into ribs rather harshly to make him turn to Zane who gave him a hard glare after being rude. It was the truth to him, but he realized he was being rude to the Walker family to loosen his brows and stared at his brother apologetically. "Sorry," he said. "Continue."
The blue ninja gave his fiery hothead brother a hard stare to snort at him with Nya following suit to her brother's behavior. Not his fault for having a temper of spicy attitude, but it's what makes him the fire ninja, somehow. Not to mention his ego was that well, but he'll let it slide. For now. "Because he told me he trusted me the most than any of you." he barked and slowly collected himself. "Seriously, Lloyd and I appreciate him and for what he does. Even everyone in Ninjago City does. And what you guys always do is spite him. He's just bringing hope to everyone for what he does. He wants to prove himself as someone."
The room became still and quiet after his rant and all eyes were glued on him. Jay had loosen himself as he haven't realized his brows were furrowed to sigh. Why was this lie becoming harder and harder if his friends besides Lloyd, Laurie, and Nya hated Spiderman. "We're sorry if we...offended you, Jay." Cole said quietly. "We...just didn't know how much you cared for what Spiderman had for you about your uncle's place. Please, continue and we'll won't interfere on anything. Including Kai."
A small smile formed on the lightning ninja's lips to know that the leader was on his side than Kai. Not to mention as he was keeping his secret of him gazing at Gwen Stacy before. What has she been doing anyway since he last saw her? Ack! No! he thought. Must not think of her. You love Nya. He drew in a deep breath as the images of the snow-white haired girl were gone to return to the present. "Okay where was I?" he asked himself when he already knew. "Oh yeah. As I was saying, Spiderman came to me and..." he paused for a bit to feel his heart become heavy with guilt. "And...Electro was the one who killed Uncle Ben. The guy who worked from Oscorp before he changed. Maxwell Dillion."
Another quiet gasp escaped from his aunt's lips to slowly see tears form in her icy blue eyes. Jay felt his heart become heavier to see his aunt's tears as he hated seeing her like that. It almost wanted to make him cry. He turned his head away to hide his solemn look to be greeted with a confused look on his parent's faces. He couldn't blame for not knowing much of Electro before he changed, but still he could see the small tears forming in their hazel eyes. "How could he do such a thing?" Mary asked, heartbroken to make Jay turn to her. "He was a brilliant man before he changed and why would he kill Ben?"
"I...I don't know." Jay sighed. He actually never got the reason why when fighting and killing him. All he done was attack and ask questions later, but never got to the questions. "But Spiderman told me he was looking for him to talk with him about not being enemies, but when he found out he killed Uncle Ben, he...sort of lost it because he didn't want anyone killed. I can't believe he did it. For our family. I can't believe he did the other thing."
What other thing? If Spiderman had news for the Walker family first, then what was the other thing he had done then? "What was it then?" Laurie asked to have Jay peer over his shoulder to gaze at her. "What was it that Spiderman did to make you...upset? We're all here for you, Jay."
The lightning ninja gave the red head a small sympathy smile, but it vanished as he turned away to sigh. This secret was going to come out now or never. And it will gnaw at him of the chosen never forever. But they had to know what happened to Electro and Spiderman can be...Spiderman without any issues of villains. "He...killed him." he replied. "He killed him instantly."
The room was silent with widen eyes of the Ninja. Internally, Jay panicked as he may have now caused a disturbance. But he had to announce Electro was dead, from Spiderman's hands. His own hands. "But...that's not like him." his aunt said quietly, puzzled, while moving a lock of her fading black hair behind her ear. "Spiderman can't be a killer. He's been doing good deeds to this city. Protecting everyone as you would with your team, Jay."
"Sorry to be bursting your bubble, but I'm taking back what I said about him." Cole growled as his team besides Lloyd, Laurie, and Nya were angered to the news. "Spiderman had proven himself as a hero, but deep down he's nothing but a fake and killer."
"Now just wait a minute, young man." Edna piped up. "You're jumping to conclusions quickly than thinking through. Sure Ed and I may not know much of this Spiderman fellow, but from what we hear, he's a good guy." Jay had to smile a bit that his mother was helping him with this sudden debate. He also knew once wound her up, you're hooped to the end. "May I remind you three," she continued while pointing at Zane, Kai, and Cole on the large couch. "That you've done this stunt before when you thought your teammate was hurting you and your family and homes when he was trying to save them. Ed and I know because he saved us before they attacked us at the junkyard. I thought your parents or sensei would have told you better than that."
The ice, earth, and fire ninja were silent with widen eyes from Jay's mother to gulp a little and quickly become quiet to look at their feet. Jay smirked a bit to them to glance over his shoulder to see both Lucas and Lloyd smirking as well a little as he knew they were thinking the same and knew what his mother meant. Laurie, however, looked at them puzzled to comprehend what she was talking about. Apparently Lloyd forgot to fill her in on that part when went to visit him at the hospital when he was in his coma after the mast of the Black Bounty when deceased pirates invaded the city and he and his brothers and Lloyd fought them. But Lucas was in the wrong spot when Lloyd used his uncontrollable powers to cause that mast to fall. Who could blame Laurie though for not knowing what Lucas' actions were in the past, it's water under the bridge to all of them now?
Jay turned his head away to glance at his mother to softly smile at her while mouthing her a thanks for the support. And in return he was given a smile and a small nod from his mother. "But it still doesn't explain why Spiderman would do such a thing." Laurie chirped in. "How could this person do such a thing to another person when Jay wanted to help him with before he went...berserk at Ninjago Square. But you have to wonder why Spiderman turned the tables on him. Spiderman couldn't have gone that mad if Electro killed someone. He could've gone mad if he was...close to that person as well."
Jay suddenly became stiff to her statement and assumption. She was right. Heroes don't get mad if the villain killed a citizen for no reason. Only to those close to him. In his case, Uncle Ben. He quickly thought of a lie. "That can't be right." he stuttered. "Spiderman never knew my uncle and I can't follow with that statement." So far so good. "I and my family knew my uncle since forever. Not Spiderman. What he had done though was unfaithful of him."
"So you're agreeing with us that Spiderman is a criminal?" Lucas wondered to feel a sharp nudge in his ribs to turn to Lloyd who stuck his tongue out at him. "Knock it off, you know it's true."
"So!" Lloyd barked. "He's still the coolest! I'm still dressing up as him for Halloween whether you like it or not."
"We can talk about it later, Lloyd." Zane said. "But Jay, I'm agreeing with Laurie's point. Spiderman couldn't have murdered Electro if he did as he told you without a motive. And that motive was him being close to your uncle. Also, how did he kill him with?"
Jay could feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest to quickly swallow the lump in his throat as they were starting to see his lie. If they concluded him, he'd be hooped. Hooped for life. His heart kept beating as all of his friends had their eyes locked on him to become stiff a little as he felt like a trapped animal. Not now. He can't have his alias exposed to them even his family. His hazel eyes darted away from theirs to meet with Nya who gave him a sympathy smile and looked back at his aunt and parents to sigh. "He...killed him with water." he replied quietly. "That's how. Water was his weakness."
Water? How was that a weakness for a man with electrical powers? Ed had to wonder because he knew it was conductive with electricity because of experiences before with working on electrical equipment and having traces of water on his hands after he had though he had dried them. But traces of liquid still clung to his skin and when working on electrical wiring, he felt the silent jolt running along his arm and soon his body and then ending at his feet; shaken up a bit in the end. Luckily for him it was a minor electrocution to be alive still, but thanks to the water on his body it was the culprit to scare him and Jay if his son wasn't careful when being little. "It makes sense on how it was used as a weapon." he said to everyone. "I may not be this Electro fellow, but I have had my experiences and shares of electrocutions with water and electricity. But surely it was an accident that Spiderman didn't know and couldn't stop it. Right son?"
Jay felt his heart skip a beat and soon released to know his father was on his side to support him. Both of his parents even. How lucky could a ninja be to know his family wasn't getting suspicious of his lie unlike his friends? Sighing, to keep up with the charade, he slowly nodded with a small frown to look down. "He did say it was an accident." he replied. "He tried so hard to save him, but Electro kept using much of his discharges as he was in agony and Spiderman couldn't save him if he was to be shocked as well."
"Then why did he say he murdered him?" Mary wondered. "It doesn't make sense."
It didn't make sense now in Jay's head. He said he murdered him but he tried to save him. It was getting harder no matter what on this lie. "He...tried to save him, but he couldn't save him on time or how." he said while collecting his thoughts to keep going. "Like I said, his discharges were just too powerful to allow Spiderman to pull him out of the drainage. But he found a switch to drain the water. But by the time it was drained, he was too late. He didn't mean to cause that pipe to break and kill him to call himself a murderer." He sighed quietly to pretend to sniffle a cry. "I wanted to help him. I wanted to help him understand his powers. He was scared and couldn't control them. He was just misunderstood."
Everyone stared the lightning ninja in pity and sympathy as the team knew he wanted to help the man with his new powers. If Lucas hadn't thrown that icicle, they would've helped him understand powers like theirs. But now that he was dead and couldn't do anything to help. But to the Ninja, they saw the truth within the web swinging superhero. A murder who stopped Jay's chances to help someone with electrical powers like his. To which, Kai sighed. "Well...looks like we got a new threat to stop in Ninjago City." he sighed while stretching himself and pulled himself out of the couch.
All heads turned to the fire ninja to have Jay and the others confused. The auburn hoped it wasn't what he meant. It's not his fault to become a threat. He wanted to make himself something to Ninjago City with what his uncle always said to him; even before being a ninja. But still, he didn't deserve this for being Spiderman. "What do you mean, Kai?" he asked puzzled while getting to his feet. "What threat? But Electro is dead. Nothing wrong now other than the usual Serpentine and Garmadon plots."
"You don't get it, Jay." the spiky haired teen chastised. "It's no longer Electro. It's Spiderman. He's the threat and I say we hunt him down and take justice into our own hands. Ninjas against this Spiderman creep."
Jay felt his heart beating rapidly in to what his friends were thinking of him. Creep? Murderer? He may have lead himself to that, but he'll show them. He was Spiderman. He'll give them a fight they'll never forget. "Sounds like music to me, Kai." he heard Cole agreeing to sigh and walk away from the den. He didn't care if anyone followed after him, he needed his time to think of a plan. "So tonight, we find him, chase him down if we have to, and show him who's boss. We'll unmask him once and for all."
Jay glanced over his shoulder to huff quietly. "I'll be there."
"You think this is really going to work?" Jay 2 asked anxiously as he watched the blue ninja pace nervously in the shared bunk room of the Bounty. The android doppelganger could see the nervousness flashing in his hazel eyes and kept darting his head at the door to ensure no one stumbled in to see two Jays. It made him nervous to be in the open, but his concerns were focused on the auburn before him. "What if they actually capture and unmask you? What then? You'll have a lot to explain about Spiderman and I guess me. I have a bad feeling about this."
Jay stopped to face his look alike to sigh a bit and walked over to his Spiderman suit to brush his hands along the sleek, stretchable fabric to nod. He had a bad feeling too but it was his only way to prove himself as a hero than what he was. It was a chance he wanted to take. And with the day slowly turning to night rather quick for daylight savings, he was going to have fun with his brothers tonight. "I don't know really." he replied to disappear into the walk-in closet besides his and Zane's bunk to shuffle through. "But after what I done, I want to fix that. Sure they may unmask me, but I'm taking this chance without second thought. That's that."
The android could see the determination in his voice, but the glint in his eyes said otherwise. He was nervous about being revealed, but he knew he had a plan. Since he was an exact copy of him, he knew what mischievous plans he had in mind. But what other outcomes could happen? "If you say so then." he sighed.
Small taps on the door quickly alerted both Jays to gasp as someone was coming in to become rigid to move. In a quick reaction, the blue ninja quickly dashed out of the closet to shove Jay 2 into the bathroom, ignoring his squeak of surprise, tossed his Spiderman suit into the bathroom with him, and slid the shijo door shut to hide him and opened the door. To whom was knocking, he felt relieved who it was to become a little nervous of suspicion to the commotion before. "H-Hey Nya." he smiled nervously. "What brings you here?"
Confusion was on the girl's mind now to peer past Jay's shoulder to the empty room to look at him oddly. She could've sworn she heard two voices. His own in two places of the room. Then what about that squeak she heard? Sounded like Jay, but yet he was in front of her. Odd. "Uh...hey back." she replied, puzzled. "Uh...did I just hear two of you in there or something?"
Jay became stiff a bit as she was growing suspicious on him and Jay 2. Oh he was so hooped if he didn't keep the charade up. "Uh...no. That was me." he quickly replied while leaning against the doorway. "I still had some lingering anger held up from this afternoon about the guy's plan on capturing Spiderman and had to talk to myself in the mirror. He-he..." He glanced out of the corner of his eye to see Jay 2 sliding the door to tap his leg quickly and saw him nod through the crack to stop. "So...what's up then?"
Puzzled still, the samurai shook her head clear to think on what she was going to say. "Uh..." she stammered and recollected her thoughts. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry for what has been happening to you lately, Jay." She could see the auburn teen raise his scarred brow to shyly look away. A quiet sigh escaped from her to lean closer to him. "With everything happening really. Watching your uncle pass away in front of you. Finding out the killer who done it was the man you were trying to help before and found out he was murdered as well. I don't know if this was fate for you or not. I just wished there was something I can do to help."
The lightning ninja's hazel eyes met with her chocolate irises to understand what she meant to softly smile. He had an idea. "You know what, maybe there is something." he smiled softly. "Instead of me going out with the guys, how about you and I go out instead. Like a cafe or something. Just the two of us. What do you say?"
A smile now formed on the girl's face to lift her gaze to meet with his hazel eyes with confidence. That actually sounded nice for her. Just the two of them. And no older brother spying on them like before when she caught him in Cole's old black gi and pants to stay in the shadows when being out with Jay. Trust issues with Kai on those now. "I like that." she smiled to spin on her toes to head for her room down the hall. "Meet back here in half an hour? But what about the guys and Spiderman?"
"Oh screw them." Jay laughed a little while poking his head out as he was entering back. "They can deal without us. This is something we can do together." He saw her smile widely and disappeared into the room she shared with Laurie to shut his door as well to smirk as Jay 2 stepped out of the bathroom with his suit in hand. The android was confused to the look in his eyes as they were glued onto him as he grabbed a blue form-fitting thermal shirt to throw over his blue tee shirt. "Guess what you're doing while I'm swinging out." he smirked and grabbed the suit from his hands to spin in his electric blue Spinjitzu tornado to change into his Spiderman suit.
The second Jay was puzzled at first, but when recalling what he heard between him and Nya, it dawned on him. Stunned and surprised, his eyes widen to blink. "Oh I don't like the sound of it now." he said nervously as the blue ninja donned on his mask and tossed him his jacket. "Oh I am so hooped now."
Ooh new tension rising now for our lightning ninja and android lightning ninja. Jay gonna be out as Spiderman and Jay 2 out with Nya, two Jay's going out, how will this go for them? Do you think the Ninja will capture Jay and unmask him? Or not? Find out next week and see what will happen! Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed the update, leave a review if you wish to, have a great weekend and I'll see you all next week. :)
