I loved hearing your reviews of pumped or excited you are for the new update and also curious on how the date of Nya and Jay 2 will go but that's next week. I can promise you that. Anyway, enjoy the update with Jay and his friends. You're gonna laugh a lot to these. I know I did.
Chapter 21: To Unmask Spiderman
Darkness laid across the evening sky. Stars flickered on the inky black sky but few only flickered as light pollution of Ninjago City prevailed the rest to be seen. Icy blue eyes shifted around in curiosity from the slit of an orange mask to sigh a bit. Her gloved hands were gripped tightly to a wooden staff and the other on a metal pole as she stood on top of a building in nervousness of the thought of falling off. But the girl underneath the orange mask felt safe as her friends stood around her so her fears could be subside. But it didn't stop the chilly winds brushing across the back of her neck and down her gi. She shivered finally to bring her hands closer to her and soon pulled her little brother closer to her for warmth while ignoring his protests. "I-I knew I sh-should've worn a sweater underneath." she said through chattered teeth while hugging her squirming brother closer because she knew he was wearing his sweatshirt underneath his gi. "Why couldn't we done this during the day where it's warmer? And how can you four stand this? It's like twenty degrees the least."
The four ninjas around her turned their eyes to her to shrug. They could see her body shaking slowly against Lloyd's to hear her teeth chattering to the nippy cold while they were still and not cold. They weren't even wearing any layers underneath their suits; just plain undershirts. "Well...I've lived in the Underworld for seven years where it's cold a lot if not near a fire." Lucas replied while rubbing his hands together against the Fall weather. "Not to mention I also spent winter in Jamanakai Village where it's colder than usual so you get used to it."
"I'm a nindroid as well as the Ninja of Ice so the cold never affects me or my circuits." Zane added.
"I'm the Ninja of Fire." Kai chirped in while leaning on a water tower with his arms resting on the back of his head. "So I'm like warm no matter what, even without my Sword of Fire." He felt shaky hands grab him by his gi and was jerked over to have arms wrapped around him. Surprised and slightly dazed to know what happened, the spiky haired teen realized his words must've convinced the wind ninja to pull him closer with Lloyd. The red ninja heard her teeth chattering ease to smile a bit under his mask. "I must be modest of my element."
The black ninja rolled his amber eyes to the two squishing Lloyd to shake his head in annoyance to him. Typical Kai. Modest of him indeed. "Not to mention your ego, Chili-pepper." he remarked to receive a glare from the fire ninja. He shrugged it away while chuckling a bit. "And for me, I'm just used to it. Unlike Lloyd who was smart enough to put on extra layers on under his suit. But in general, I hate the cold. You should've seen us in the Frozen Wastelands, nothing but snow and ice and I wished I was in the Sea of Sands." He stifled a yawn to stretch his arms and scanned around the area of Downtown Ninjago City. "And we're looking for Spiderman and stop him of his criminal ways and murder even."
"I keep telling you guys, Spiderman is not a criminal." Lloyd protested while trying to squirm away free from his sister, but sighed as he was squished between Laurie and Kai. His sister had to be cold. But then again, he was enjoying the extra warmth.
"Keep doubting it all you want, Squirt." Kai scoffed. "But our main goal is to stop this creep. Once and for all. Also where is Jay? It's not like him to run off and ditch us. Especially if he wants to go after the guy who kill the man he wanted to help. No doubt he's with my sister."
Dark blue eyes were trained on the fire ninja's to harden on the statement. The white ninja could sense his nervous aura to sigh at Kai's negative attitude. He doesn't get it, does it? "That would be unwise of Jay to do, Kai." he stated. "It wouldn't be wise to go after the man that has killed your family, let alone if another murder of the man being murdered by another. Even if Jay wanted to help with him before. I don't think our brother is stupid enough for revenge. A lot has happened to him and he needs a break."
The fire ninja became silent to look away to shamefully nod. Zane smirked a little to look away in victory to ensure his grin wouldn't be noticed from his mask. Minutes passed and the Ninja began to hear a familiar thwipping sound to become alert and scanned around for the masked vigilante. Suddenly, red and blue colors flashed past them to dart their heads to a building across from them to watch a figure in skin tight clothes perch himself on top of a water tower. All the elemental ninjas, besides the green and orange ninja, glared at the figure to slowly draw their weapons out. Their anger of jealousy grew as they sneered at Spiderman. This was it.
Jay glanced around his brothers in front of him from his perch to smirk lightly at the look in their eyes. All, but Laurie and Lloyd, glared at him. But he didn't even cared. This was going to be entertaining to him. Even if they stop and unmask him, he was going to have fun before it happened. He even know they won't see his identity. He wasn't going to let it happen. He was Spiderman.
The auburn teen scanned at the team to chuckle lightly and stood up from his perch to cross his arms. "Looking for me?" he asked mockingly. "Because I'm sure you've been for awhile lately." Silence came from the team and Jay simply shrugged. "Not much of talkers then? Alright. So what can I do for ya? In need of help to stop a villain or want to be partners?"
In need of help? Partners? That made the fire ninja furrow his brows tightly and tightened his grip on the hilt of his katana. This was making him annoyed and mad at the so called superhero. It was like when Nya was the mysterious Samurai X, but this was probably ten times worse. He was sure that everyone thought so too. Besides Laurie for not knowing what it was like for thunder being stolen from under their noses. And Lloyd, he was just a kid and a big fan to this hero. But besides that, the fire ninja glared with his brothers at Spiderman. "Yeah we've been looking for you, more like waiting for you, murderer." he hissed.
The Ninja heard the man sigh in sorrow to become skeptical of his next approach. What was he playing at? "Look it wasn't my fault." Spiderman stated while pacing around on the slanted tin roof. "How was I supposed to know water was like his weakness? Everything just happened too fast. I wanted to talk and resolve what happened at Ninjago Square with him. Look I'm sorry for everything what happened to him, but when I found out he killed someone, your friend's uncle, I...just lost it. What can I do for you guys to ensure I don't sound like a criminal?"
"Look Web-head, we're not believing a single thing from you." Cole growled and tightened his grip on his scythe. "Well Lloyd doesn't care because he likes you, but the rest of us, don't." He glanced at his team to see all but Laurie and Lloyd nod with him and took a step forward to address for his team. The black ninja turned his amber eyes to glare at him. "Not to mention what you've done goes against good. You're nothing but a criminal, murderer, and a liar. So what do you want from us? Well...remove your mask and show us your face!"
Jay stared down at the earth ninja for a long minute of silence. Boy they must really hate Spiderman than he realized. Well after he killed Electro, he should've expected this harsh talk. Just like when Nya was the samurai. Nothing but hate and envy because we're beating the criminals before they could. This might be how it was like. Pride and making his friends jealous. They even want to unmask him, just like their old bet to become the Green Ninja before Lloyd was discovered to become the powerful ninja. This was going to be fun. "Tell ya what, Rockhead." he said and jumped down to be on the tarred roof. "Why not a bet? Whoever can catch me first, unmasks me. Fail, I'm still Spiderman. I won't even swing away. Just running."
The Ninja turned to each other to know what he was doing and turn back to glare at him. He was playing with them and they didn't have time for his shenagins. He was more childish than Jay is. "And if we refuse?" Lucas wondered while playing with his sai's. "What then? How about you just remove your mask now?"
A smirk played on Jay's lips to this and tensed his muscles to begin the fun. He hoped they were as well now. "Well then," he smirked. "Where's the fun in it then? Catch me if you can!" He quickly turned on his toes and ran as fast as he could. He glanced over his shoulder to watch his friends stutter for a second and quickly took pursuit after him. He had to laugh at this. This was going to be a blast for him.
As the lightning ninja ran, he occasionally glanced over his shoulders to see how his friends were keeping pace with him. And for being the fastest member to the team, he purposely reduced his strides while laboring his breathing still to keep his stamina in sync. Almost if he was running in cross country. Jay quickly felt the back of his head buzzing to quickly jump and grab a pipe to swing his body up as a jet of pressurized water was blasted. He knew that was Lucas for being the destined guardian for Lloyd to still his elemental powers and quickly landed after his swing to keep on running. What else did they have up in their sleeves?
The chase on the rooftops began to bore Jay as he ran. Same old attacks and dodging from the water ninja. But a smirk played on his lips to look over and quickly jumped while twisting his body from the fire jet of liquid. With a quick aim, he fired both wrists at a specific ninja to land in a crouch and fired another shot of webs. He heard Kai's squeak in surprise to laugh as the ninja was caught in a giant web he fabricated on his own from the pipes on the rooftop. He was like a trapped bug now.
Stunned and startled, the Ninja of Fire glanced around in his trap with his friends staring at him surprised. He began to struggle with all of his strength, but it only made him bounce on the web. This wasn't getting him anywhere now then. He glanced over his shoulder to see Laurie catching up to the team to become startled to see him stuck on the web. The orange ninja felt confused and no words formed in her throat. "Well someone help me here!" the fire ninja shouted to struggle and bounce more. "This isn't even funny, Spiderman!"
The red haired girl was thankful that her mask was hiding her smile to his imprisonment. This was actually a little funny for the ninja she was in love with on his predicament. He hid her snicker and staggered to think of an idea. But her icy blue eyes were trained to the katana strapped to his back and drew it out. "I'll try and get him down." she said and became careful when slicing the strong, thick threads. "Just go on without us."
The Ninja turned to each other to nod. If Laurie had it to free Kai, the two can catch up later. Once they capture Spiderman that is. "Okay but don't take forever." Cole instructed and turned to the remaining ninja. "Let's go. And don't lose him." The raven haired teen took off in a quick sprint and soon the others quickly followed with Lloyd riding onto Lucas' back.
Jay eventually caught his breath as his sides were beginning to hurt to nearly jump as his friends, but Kai and Laurie, were close to him. "Yikes!" he yelped to turn and take off in a sprint. "Gotta run now."
Speed, that was all that Jay needed to keep his pace focused. That and stamina as well so he wouldn't be tuckered out rather quickly. But as being Spiderman, he felt he had the unlimited energy of a video game character. The lightning ninja glanced back over again to see where his friends were and noticed they were now on top of a story higher building than where he was and running alongside by him. He knew what they were planning to do now. In a quick reaction, he jumped while twisting his body to fire the webs from his wrists toward them, but missed and realized he was falling down into an alley with his friends still running on the roofs. "Oh snap!" he yelped to quickly flip back over to fire a thread onto a building ledge and swung himself back onto the rooftops and ran. "Oh man too close."
"But not close for this!" Cole grumbled and wished he still had his elemental powers but instead turned to the grey ninja. "Lucas now!" The water ninja nodded and quickly held his hands out to fire pulses of water at a water tower to ricochet toward the lightning ninja from the side. To Jay's surprise, he didn't even sense it coming to turn and be greeted with the pulse to be pushed off his feet from the force to crash into a brick wall to slump on the tarred roof. The black ninja smirked and soon surrounded Spiderman. "Now we got you, Web-head."
Jay was catching his breath as he pulled himself to one knee to glare at his friends for the surprise attack. Touché for what he did to Kai, but those were his things. Two could play at this game too. He quickly scanned around his brothers to smirk as he picked his next target and slowly raised himself. With quick hands, he fired both wrists to hear Cole scream loudly in surprise and soon silence. In front of him laid the Ninja of Earth in a cocoon of threads of silk to have Jay laugh hysterically to see his friend's surprised looks. "See ya!" he said and took off to leave the Ninja startled.
The Ninja watched the raven-haired teen's cocooned form struggle and thrash with his muffled screams. They could see his amber eyes blazing in fury toward Spiderman to shift toward them for a sign of help him out. And now! They knew they couldn't leave him and let Spiderman escape as well. "Zane, trade you a sai for a shuriken." Lucas offered quickly while drawing a sai for him. "If I can get one shot on him, Lloyd and I can keep him pinned until you guys catch up."
The nindroid turned to the leader to see his nod of approval to nod as well. He quickly fetched a shuriken from the holster on his hips to toss one to Lucas' free hand and took his sai. "Make it count." he said and began to slice the thick threads to see the burnet nod his head and ran with Lloyd still on his back.
Heavy, labored breathing escaped from the Ninja of Water's mouth as he was only remaining ninja, well except for Lloyd still hitching a ride on his back, pursuing after the mocking superhero. The white ninja's weapon he traded with to help free Cole from his cocoon was gripped tightly in his right hand as he followed closely behind Spiderman; whether it was jumping over fences or sliding under the rooftop water towers, he wasn't going to lose him. And even with the added weight of his cousin on his back, it wasn't going to slow him down. But before he could fire another pulse of water, his hazel grey eyes widen as he saw they were running out of rooftops to run on for the streets they were on was nearing toward the skyscrapers. Meaning Spiderman's escape, he couldn't allow it. "Now or never, Lloyd." he said and jumped down onto the last rooftop, rolled on the tarred roof while being careful with Lloyd and threw the shuriken in a wide arc like he was throwing a discus.
Jay's senses heightened to envision the shuriken being thrown toward him while he was in the air. Petty attempt, he knew it. The auburn teen simply twisted his body while swinging his heel at the metal weapon to knock it down to the alley below him. "Haha! Nice try! Better luck next time, Ninja!" he laughed and held his right wrist, aim for a skyscraper. He pressed his two fingers into his palm, but nothing fired out. "What!? Ahh!" Arms flailed with screams as the Ninja of Lightning fell for the ground after his webs couldn't be fired for some reason than before. Metal rattled as he collided into a balcony of a fire escape stairs to cause him to spin spontaneously and collide with his abdomen onto the rim of a dumpster.
Pain radiated through Jay's body as he carefully pulled himself away from his spot to crawl on the ground. One arm was wrapped around his stomach to feel like he was going to throw up, but more like the wind was knocked from his lungs roughly. His mind was boggled to wonder why he couldn't fire any threads back up there to look at his free hand to try again, but this time they fired. "What in the world was that about?" he wondered quietly to pull himself to his feet to clutch his stomach more. "That's gonna leave a nasty bruise." he mumbled. He couldn't doubt it. But he heard a set of feet land beside him to turn and saw Lucas glaring at him darkly. "Uhoh."
Lloyd gazed at the hero he favored as the best he ever seen in front of him and could tell he was injured by the way he held his stomach. His cousin gently nudged him off his back to step aside, but he became nervous as he knew Lucas had to harm his idol. "You're mine now, Spiderman." he heard Lucas grumble and watched him charge at the injured teen. He knew he was a teen by his height. The green ninja became worried as he watched his cousin attack Spiderman, but cheered as his favorite hero dodged him and started crawling away on the walls. But he stopped as he heard his cousin growl. "Lloyd, taze him!" Lucas demanded. The green ninja's face dropped because his cousin wanted him to hurt Spiderman. He couldn't do such a thing to him. "Do it, now!"
Startled and afraid, the blonde haired boy stared at his cousin's cold stare to turn and watched the injured teen crawl away. Sighing, he felt his hands tingle as he concentrated on his elemental lightning powers like Jay had taught him and eyed on his target. "I'm sorry, Spiderman." he said sadly and held his hand out to execute his powers from his fingertips. The blue bolts scattered across the air and struck the target to hear his favorite hero scream in pain and land in the dusty ground; limp. Lloyd had hung his head to what he had done. "I'm sorry. Really I am." He glared at his cousin. "I can't believe you, Lucas! He's done nothing wrong!"
The water ninja ignored him and used his foot to determine how much pain he was in. All he heard was a groan from him. He heard multiple feet land to perk his head to smirk under his mask as his friends, with a freed Kai and Cole with bits of webs still clinging to them, finally caught up to them. "We got him." the grey ninja said. "The Infamous Spiderman."
The male ninjas, beside Laurie as she walked over to her shaken brother, glared at the limp body of Spiderman as he dared not move when in pain. Both Lucas and Kai each grabbed an arm of his to prompt himself to his knees with his head hung in defeat. And Cole simply grabbed the top part of his mask to wretch it off his face to reveal auburn hair, but no face was shown. "Show yourself, Web-head." he demanded. "Now!"
Jay's body felt worn and tired to fight after his electrocution from Lloyd to sigh. Then again that was nothing from the blonde haired boy, it kind of tickled. If anyone had powers like that, it would've been him or...Electro. But that didn't matter right now in his situation. He was unmasked and they wanted to see his face. But he wasn't going to allow it. Which was when a smirk formed. He knew this would happen.
The lightning ninja quickly pulled his arms freed to throw his elbows at the water and fire ninja's abdomens to weaken them and quickly crossed his arms over his face while flipping over them to land in a crouch with his head bowed. His senses enlightened him as his brothers surrounded him but he knew it was pointless of them. They should let him go. But instead, Jay simply dodged or block their attacks and fought back while keeping his head down to ensure his identity was hidden and Laurie and Lloyd stood back and watched. He heard Lloyd cheering for him to make him smile more to his fan. For a final show, the blue ninja jumped while firing his wrist to pull a metal pole into his hand and threw it to the center of his brothers to land in front of them and fired both wrists to unleash a flurry of silk threads to hear them scream and stopped.
Mission Accomplished.
Even though he was unmasked and not wish to lift his head, Jay knew he had his brothers tied to the pole to laugh at them; being careful to not use his usual laugh to raise suspicion. He quickly fired his wrists to pry his mask from Cole's hand and donned it over his face to lift his head and cross his arms in victory as his brothers struggled. Oh this was too rich for him. "Well then," he smirked. "So much for that." He turned to the two remaining ninjas to walk over to Lloyd and knelt to his height. "I've heard you're my number one fan, right?"
The green ninja blinked in surprise to know that his favorite hero knew him of being his number one fan. He couldn't find his voice to glance at his sister to see her encouraging smile and light push. Once he felt motivated, he felt confident. "Y-Yeah." he stuttered to speak. "I find you the best superhero ever. And want to be you for Halloween. Also...sorry for hurting you. I didn't want to but my cousin made me."
Jay smiled as he already forgiven him and removed the boy's mask to ruffle his blonde hair. "All is forgiven, Kid." he said and got himself up. "If I were you, I'd give them a talk for harming your fellow friends. They could use it." He lifted part of his mask to reach into the collar of his suit to pull out a folded piece of paper and held it out to Lloyd. "Got you a little something something for being my fan." He waited for him to take it and fixed his mask back over his neck. "Gotta go now." and jumped to fire his wrists and swung away; leaving his friends.
Lloyd's smile grew wide to watch him swing away and turned to his gift to unfold it to reveal a picture of Spiderman swinging on the skyscrapers up close. And in the corner of metallic silver ink was a little note even. To my number one fan, Lloyd. From: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman. The emerald green eyes grew wide in joy with the widen smile to the autograph to chuckle lightly. He had to admit the picture itself was even better for someone to be that close and high for a picture. But it was still amazing.
The green ninja couldn't keep his eyes off the gift Spiderman gave him for it was the best. But he turned his eyes away to give his cousin and friends a hard stare as they struggled. "So Sis, should we give them that talk?" he asked while crossing his arms. He smirked when he heard them gulp as they felt they were in trouble.
Hahaha! What did you all think of it? Did you get a good laugh to what Jay had done with Cole and Kai, I did when I wrote these moments. And Jay was almost revealed, but being Spiderman, he didn't allow that to happen. But his friends were close. And Lloyd has a great gift from Spiderman even, luckiest kid ever. XD So anyway, I hope you enjoyed the update, leave a review of you like, have a great weekend and I'll see you all next week. :)
