Chapter 29: Heart of the Underdog

Back at the restaurant, the gang was in the VIP room with a tied up Robert and Carly and Chef Tim were about to talk to them.
Carly then replied, "We to discuss our takeover of that damn gang one and for all!"
Christina raised her hand and replied, "Can I ask something first?"
"Go ahead, Christina."
"Why didn't Chef Tim tell us he was a member of the Future Fighters before or during the duel!"
Carly sighed and replied, "If everyone knew about that, those bastards would of came at him more and more!"
"That makes sense?"
Ginny looked at the chef and replied, "Why did you come to this timeline?"
Tim smiled and replied, "To help train a young chef that wanted to become a great chef and since he's a great chef now, I'll return to my own time when those bastards are finally takened out for good!"
Carly then replied, "Starting this week, we organize a group that'll help us bring down those bastards! Ask as many of your friends or other duelists if they'll be intrested in helping us. If they win and shut us down, the future is doomed for Minnesota."
Christina nodded and replied, "We'll do what we have to help out, Carly."
Ginny smiled and replied, "We'll do the best we can, Carly."
Kelly then replied, "I knew a few people that can help us."
Carly then replied, "We'll meet up in Ginny's Apartment 2 days from today."
Ginny then replied, "Is my apartment going to be big enough for everyone?"
Carly nodded and replied, "Remember that bunker underneath your building. We'll use that to get everyone together and get this over with."
Ginny nodded and replied, "Sounds good to me, Carly."
Carly smiled and replied, "I knew I could count on all of you to help us out!"
"FOR THE FUTURE!", all the ladies yelled out at once.

That night in their HQ, Slade and Shade were going over plans about what to do.
Slade then replied, "We need to make plans to wipe those girls out before they can ruin everything for us!"
Shade sighed and replied, "You are right, son. We need all the damn help we can get!"
"Is our undercover officer ready to get our locked up guys out of the slammer?"
"Yep. He already did and now the police no longer has any kind of record of them ever being there!"
Slade then replied, "I am also bringing back my 3 banished shadow duelists!"
"You sure, sir? They really sucked last time and are pathetic!"
"I know, but I am bringing for a few other duelists that gave Jaden Yuki and his crew trouble a few years back."
"Which ones?"
"A few of them that are really strong."
"I hope they can help us out, dad."
"With the new cards we gave them, we shouldn't have any trouble!"

That next day in the park, James was talking with Liza and Greg (The two Panik beat in the last duel they had).
Kelly then replied, "That duelist that beat you both was a shadow duelist and if you can help us, you can protect this city from the Beasts and maybe get some revenge on them!"
Liza smiled and replied, "I'm in. I want to get those bastards back!"
Greg nodded and replied, "If she's in, I'll be in too."
"Good to hear. Be at the front door of my friend Ginny's apartment building and we'll go from there."

At the other side of the park, Ginny was talking with James and his fiancee Carol about what was going to happen.
James then repleid, "So, you want me to help you take down those gang members so that the future can be a better place?"
"That's about it, sir. If you don't want to, its okay with us."
James saluted her and replied, "I'm in. I've already served in the Middle East and it'll feel right that I help out now as well. I want to use my other deck I've been working on for about a month now. I have the right amount of cards and is ready to kick some butt with it."
Ginny smiled and replied, "Thanks for the added help."
Carol then replied, "I can't duel, but I'll be with him as well."
"That is totally fine with us, Carol. If you are that protective over your pride and joy, that its okay with us."
James looked at her and replied, "Thank you, baby."
"Anytime, my dear." Carol said with a smile as they kissed on the lips.

That afternoon in the snack area of the dueling store in the MOA, Christina was talking with Aaron.
She smiled and replied, "How's dueling been since our duel a while back?"
"Pretty good, actually. I have some new cards and I think I can beat you again."
Christina then replied, "I'll agree to rematch..but only if you join my dueling group. We need all the people we can get to stop those Savage Beast shitheads from talking over the city!"
Aaron then replied, "You didn't need to offer me anything to help us. I'll gladly help your Future Fighter group!"
"Wait, how'd you know about them?"
He sighed and replied, "Some of my rarest cards in my Dungeon Dice deck..came from their timeline."
"I won't say a word to anyone, dude."
Aaron nodded and repleid, "Thank you and in that case, I'm in."
"Good to hear, dude. Good to hear."
Aaron smiled and replied, "Besides, this'll be a great time to use the 2nd deck I made..made only with cards I found in this timeline with help from my friends and family that is."
"Sounds good."

At the Mcdonalds, Kelly was trying her luck with Tiffany.
"So, you want me to join and help you guys save the city from those beasts so the future can be a bright, happier place?", Tiffany asked.
Kelly nodded and replied, "Yea, thats about it."
"I can't do it. My folks are really busy now and I want to help them out at home as much as I can."
"Sorry you can't help us out, Tiff."
She got up and replied, "Sorry once again."
She began to leave and Kelly then replied, "I think Lucas's bother told us about a duelist of theirs that uses a strong Inzektor deck?"
Tiffany turned around and looked at him and replied, "Are you just saying that so I will help you all out?"
"A little bit of both."
Tiffany then replied, "Let me talk to my folks about this and I'll let you know later tonight, okay?"
"Sounds good, girl."

That night during their evening break, Lucas was talking to Rick about what was going on.
"So, we all get chance to bring those bastards down for good?"
"That is exactly right, buddy!"
Rick smiled and replied, "I'm so in! I can't wait to help you all out!"
"I'm glad you can be a good service to us now, Rick."

Meanwhile in Canal Park in Duluth, Bulldog was talking to Zander and his friend Colton about wanting to help out.
Zander then replied, "So after everything they did to screw me over, they want me to help out and stop those Fighters?"
"Yep, thats it!"
Zander laughed and replied, "You must think I have shit for brains! I refuse to and I'm staying with my friend."
Bulldog sighed and replied, "Okay then."
He took something out of his pocket and he slammed it on the ground and then seconds later, it was the holograph image of Shade appeared and he replied, "Hello?"
Zander then replied, "You are the last person I want to see a image of right now!"
Shade then replied, "I know and I'm here to talk to my hidden member Colton!"
Zander looked at him and replied, "Is this true?"
Colton nodded and replied, "Afraid so, buddy. I was always a helpful member and Shade only pretended to not know you so we can trick you and anyone else to help us out."
Zander sighed and replied, "My own friend betrays me."
Shade then replied, "We will turn you in to the police right here and now if you refuse to help us out, I'm afraid."
Zander then replied, "You blackmailing me?"
"Yep."
Zander then replied, "If I do help out and if I managed to beat those brats, I want a high rank postion back in the group!"
Shade then replied, "We'll talk about that after you win."
Suddenly, the image of the leader vanished from sight and Zander looked at Colton and replied, "Lets get going and call that guy up as soon as you can, bud."
"No problem at all, Zander."
Bulldog nodded and replied, "Later."
Suddenly, he vanished into a cloud of thick black smoke and Zander replied, "That was..unexpected."

That next night in the underground bunker underneath Ginny's apartment, the hired help were waiting for Carly and Sebastian to show up on screen. Kelly tried her best not to let Nancy help out as well, but she pushed and pushed until Kelly gave in and her parents said it was okay. Tiffany did call Kelly back and said she was also in as well.
James walked to were Ginny was and he replied, "Who is this leader of yours, Ginny?"
"She's a very nice and wonderful leader and she does everything she can to save us from those bastards."
Suddenly, Carly walked into the main room and she replied, "Morning to all of you. For who doesn't know me, I'm Carly Gunderson and this is my husband Sebastian and we're the leaders for the Future Fighters. We asked our main members to get as much help as we can to save the world from those damn bastards."
Sebastian then replied, "If we don't stop those guys right here and now, the future of the city is doomed."
"Damn right it is!", said a voice in the back of the room.
They all turned to the back of the room and saw a man wearing a black leather jacket and black jean pants with chains all over it and he also had piercings all over his face.
Carly then replied, "Who are you?"
The man chuckled and replied, "I'm Kreiger and I'm here to stop you punks from saving ANYTHING!"
Carly then replied, "So, you just arrived with the group and decided to make our lives a a living hell right now?"
"Damn right I did."
Nancy walked up to him and replied, "How about a duel on the roof of fhis apartment with me and we'll decide the prize after whoever wins!"
Kreiger laughed and replied, "Whatever you say, shrimp. I have a kick-ass deck and I can beat anything you send my way!"

About 20 minutes later, they were all on the roof and it was raining outside (Carly activated a dome to protect everyone inside from the lightning and rain) and the duelists were standing across from each other.
Nancy then replied, "Ready for defeat?"
"If you meant yours, then okay!"
Both activated their disks and both drew 5 cards from them.
"Game on!", both yelled out.
(Kreiger LP: 8000 - Nancy LP: 8000)
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I'll set 3 cards facedown and I'll set a monster and that'll end my turn now."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I summon my 7 Colored Fish!"
As he sat the card down, the beautiful fish appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I now play Double Summon for my Gagagigo!"
As he sat the card down, the reptile warrior appeared (ATK 1,850).
"Attack!"
Gagagigo went in first and a Dancing Elf appeared on the card (DEF: 250) and with swipe of his claw, the tiny fairy shatttered to bits and Nancy then replied, "I now play Human-Wave Tactics!"
Suddenly, the trap appeared.
"Whenever you destroy one of my weak level 2 or lower monsters, i can special summon another level 2 or below nornal monster from my deck!"
"Whatever you say! Fish, attack her directly!"
The fish flew into the air and slapped her with its back fin (Nancy LP: 8000 - 6200) and she smiled and replied, "Neato."
Kreiger sighed and replied, "I don't know what the hell you are up to! but It won't work and I now set a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Nancy then replied, "Since its the end phase now and since you destroyed my Level 2 or lower monster, I can special summon a weak nornal monster from my deck and I choose my Happy Lover!"
As she sat the card down, a very cute fairy with pink wings appeared with a small heart on its forhead appeared (ATK: 800).
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I now summon my Mokey Mokey!"
As she sat the card down, a small fairy with a bored look appeared (ATK: 300).
"Mokey Mokey.", the tiny fairy announced.
Sebastian then replied, "Neat deck so far."
Kelly smiled and replied, "This duel is just getting started and so far, so good."
"Next, I activate my facedown The League of Uniform Nomenclature to get a couple of more Mokey Mokeys!"
Sdudwenly, two more of fairies appeared (ATK; 300 x2).
"Mokey Mokey.", both of the square faires said at the same time.
"I now play Mokey Mokey Smackdown!"
Suddenly, the spell card appeared and it was a image of very red and angry Mokey Mokey.
"Next, I play my Spirit Barrier!"
Suddenly, the trap flipped up.
"Time to battle. Happy Lover, attack!"
The fairy flew into towards the Reptile and as it closed in, Gagagio was ready and he made a savage slash with his claw, blasting the small Fairy to pieces and then other one fairies get more angry and bright red (ATK: 300 x3 - 3,000 x3).
"Now, attack his water monsters!"
"MOKEY MOKEY!", the fairies screamed as 2 of them shot two fiery beams of light of light at the monster, blowing both of the sea monsters to particles (Kreiger LP: 8000 - 5850).
Nancy smiled and replied, "My last little guy attacks you directly now!"
Suddenly, the final one began to glow..
Kreiger then replied, "I activate Widespread Ruin!"
Suddenly, the final Mokey Mokey exploded into shards.
"Whatever ever you say, douche. I now move to my end phase and I'm going to special summon my Gigobyte!"
Suddenly, the tiny reptile appeared (DEF: 300).
"Go ahead."
Suddenly, the other two Mokey Mokey's powered down (ATK: 3,000 - 300).
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I now summon my Mother Grizzly!"
As he sat the card down, the watery bear appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"I now play Mystical Space Typhoon!"
The storm began and the Spirit Barrier card was ripped to pieces.
"Attack her Mokey Mokey!"
The bear went in and slashed with her claw, slicing one of the fairies to pieces (Nancy LP: 6200 - 5100) and making the final one angry (ATK: 300 - 3,000).
"Whatever. I end my turn now."
Suddenly, a Petit Moth appeared and knelt (DEF: 200).
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I switch my Gigobyle to attack postion."
Suddenly, the small reptile rose to attack postion (ATK: 350).
"Next, I play Triangle Power!"
Suddenly, both Level 1 monsters began to glow (ATK: 300 - 2,300) - (ATK: 350 - 2,350).
"Attack!"
The small reptile went in first and gave a punch, blowing the bear to pieces and then a 2nd one appeared (ATK: 1,400) and the Mokey Mokey shot it eye beams out and the bear was blown into fragments as it struck it (Kreiger LP: 5850 - 4000) and then a Lost Blue Breaker appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"There you go. I now go to my Main Phase 2 and overlay my 3 monsters!"
Each of the monsters turned into 3 golden orbs and then a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"I use these 3 little guys to Constuct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear before me..Mira the Star-Bearer!"
As she sat the card down, a tall chubby warrior wearing a spiked helmet appeared while holding somesort of metal weapon (DEF: 1,000)
"There you go. I end my turn now."
Carly nodded and replied, "I have to admit she's doing really good so far."
Sebastian then repleid, "When she gets older, we she let her takd on a sage."
Ginny then repleid, "With this deck so far, she'll kick some serious butt."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I now summon my Piercing Moray!"
As he sat the card down, a large eel with a larger horn appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"Since I control another fish, I send my Lost Blue Breaker away to destroy your Human-Wave Tactics!
As the serpent vanished into grains of light, Nancy's trap began to crack before it shattered to bits.
"Attack her Mira!"
The eel's horn began to glow and then it fired a burst of electricity and as Nancy quickly discarded a Mokey Mokey, Mira got his weapon out and the lightning was absorbed off it it (Nancy LP: 6200 - 5800) and she replied, "I can remove one of his Xyz Material monsters to prevent its destruction."
"Whatever you say. I End my turn now."
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I'll set a monster as well as 1 card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I'll bring out my Space Mambo!"
As he sat the card down, a large fish with odd markings on it appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Lets do it. Moray, attack!"
The eel launched its electricity and it shot out and then she discarded another one of his Xyz Materials and he blocked it again (Nancy LP: 5800 - 5400).
"Mambo, attack!"
The large fish opened its mouth and launched a wave of bubbles and a wicked-looking Fiend with a scythe appeared (DEF: 600) and was blown into pixels as the bubbles struck it down and then she replied, "We now both get to add a level 3 or lower normal monster from my deck!"
She took a monster from her deck and placed in her hand and he sighed and replied, "I don't have any targets! I now play Mystic Wok!"
Suddenly, Piercing Moray vanished into grains of light and he began to glow (Kreiger LP: 4000 - 5500) and then replied, "I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."
Nancy drew a card amnd replied, "I Bring forth Clown Zombie!"
As he sat the card down, the undead clown appeared wih a cackle (ATK: 1,350).
"I now play Thousand Energy!"
Suddenly, its scythe began to glow (ATK: 1,350 - 2,350).
"I now switch Mira to attack as well."
Suddenly, the warrior rose to attack postion.
"Zombie, attack!"
The zombie swung his scythe and it shot and cut cleanly through the large fish and then a couple of seconds later, it fell to the ground in two pieces (Kreiger LP: 5500 - 4850) and then he quickly replied, "I now play Metal Reflect Slime!"
Suddenly, the bloby silvery slime appeared (DEF: 3,000).
"Okay then. I play my own Mystic Wok!"
Suddenly, the zombie vanished into grains of light which flew into Nancy (Nancy LP: 5400 - 7750) and then she replied, "I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I bring forth my Rescue Rabbit!"
As he sat the card down, the cute rabbit appeared (ATK: 300).
"I now banish it to special summon 2 level 4 or lower normal monsters with the same name from my deck!"
As the cute rabbit winked before vanishing, 2 Giant Red Seasnakes appeared and then both hissed (ATK: 1,800 x2).
"Attack!"
They both fired bursts of water and Nancy discarded the final Xyz monster to prevent the first burst from striking him, but then the 2nd water burst struck him and blew him to little pieces (Nancy LP: 7750 - 6350).
"There you go. I now overlay them both now!"
Both turned into blue orbs and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"With these monsters, I construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear now..Abyss Dweler!"
As he sat the card down, a large shadowy seasnake appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"Since he has a monster that was a Water monster, all water monsters I have gain 500 ATK!"
Suddenly, it began to glow (ATK: 1,700 - 2,200) and he smiled and replied, "There you go. I end my turn now."
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I'll set a new monster facedown and thats my turn."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I summon my 2nd Space Mambo!"
As he sat the card down, another of the large blue fishes appeared (ATK: 1,700 - 2,200).
"Lets do it. Dweller, attack!"
The dark snake came out of the ground and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the snake swallowed it whole and both discarded their current hands and drew 5 cards and then he replied, "Direct attack!"
The large blue fish launched another burst of bubbles and they shot out and struck her (Nancy LP: 6350 - 4150).
"Take that, brat! I end my turn now."
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I Drop 800 lifepoints to play Enchanting Feeting Room!"
As she glowed (Nancy LP: 4150 - 3350) and then she picked up the top 4 cards and she replied, "Well, Shard of Greed is not a Monster, but I can now special summon my 2nd Clown Zombie, Atlantean Pikeman and Charcoal Inpachi!"
As the spell card vanished, a 2nd Clown (ATK: 1,350), the serpent warrior (ATK: 1,400) and the blackened piece of charcoal appeared (DEF: 2,100).
"I now play Silent Doom!"
Suddenly, a 2nd Clown Zombie appeared (DEF: 0).
"I now overlay my 2 Clown Zombies!"
Both turned into black orbs and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"I use my monsters to construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear before me..Gachi Gachi Gantetsu!"
As he sat the card down, a huge rocky creature appeared (ATK: 500).
"All monsters I control gain 200 ATK and DEF for each Xyz Material monster he has!"
ATK: 500 - 900) (ATK: 1,400 - 1,800) - (DEF: 2,100 - 2,500).
he laughed and replied, "Its weaker then my monster, foolish girl!"
She smiled and replied, "Knew that already, dude! I activate Inverse Universe!"
The trap flipped up.
"With this mighty trap card on the field, the ATK & DEF of all effect monsters is changed around!"
Suddenly, the rocky warrior began to glow (ATK: 900 - 1,800 - 2,200), Abyss Dweler hissed (ATK: 2,200 - 1,900), the silver slime began to glow (DEF: 3,000 - 0). and then Pikeman began to glow (ATK: 1,400 - 1,800)
Carly nodded and replied, "That was a good move by her."
Kelly smiled and replied, "She's doing awesome now!"
"Lets battle. Gantetsu, attack!"
the rocky creature and struck the snake in the head and it hissed in anger before it collapsed into a large puddle of water, weakening Space Mambo (ATK: 2,200 - 1,700).
"Go for it!"
The serpent warrior went and jammed his spear into the fish, blowing it to pixels (Kreiger LP: 4850 - 4450).
"There you go! I end my turn now."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I summon my Blizzard Falcon!"
As he sat the card down, a icy falcon appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I now play Double Summon for my Aurora Wing!"
As he sat the card down, another of the watery birds appeared (ATK: 1,500).
"I now overlay my 2 monsters!"
Both monsters turned light-blue orbs and a portal opened up, which they flew into.
"With these monsters, I construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon! Appear now...Ice Beast Zerofyne!"
As he sat the card down, a large icy bird-like creature appeared with a caw (ATK: 2,000).
"I use one Xyz Material monster to negate all your effect card effects!"
As he took the Blizzard Falcon and discarded it, the Xyz flapped its wings and Nancy's Xyz began to chip (ATK: 2,200 - 1,800) and then Kreiger's Xyz began to glow (ATK: 2,000 - 2,300).
"Attack!"
The huge bird flapped her wings and a huge burst of frost and snow coated the rocky monster and then it collapsed into a pile of frozen pebbles (Nancy LP: 3350 - 2950).
He laughed and replied, "Take that! I end my turn now."
"I'll still beat you, butthole.", she muttered as she drew a card. "I'll play Mystic Wok first!"
Suddenly, Charcoal Inpachi turned into a cloud of black dust and it flew into her body (Nancy LP: 2950 - 5050).
"I'll switch my Clown to defense and I'll set a new monster facedown and thats my turn now."
Kreiger drew a card and replied, "I summon my Metabo-Shark!"
As he sat the card down, a huge chubby shark appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I'll use its ability to return 2 fish monsters back to my deck!"
He took his 7 Colored Fish and one of the Space Mambo and shuffled them into the deck
Carly then replied, "He's using a deck of level 4 or lower water monsters with some decent Water Xyz monsters as well."
Kreiger then replied, "I don't have any monster in my deck or Extra Deck that is Level or Rank 4 or higher in my extra deck, main deck and side deck and Rescue Rabbit was one of my non-water monsters I use in this deck. I now play Fissure!"
Suddenly, Clown Zombie shattered into pixels and then replied, "Metabo-Shark, attack!"
The fat shark opened its mouth and a launched a burst of water and it shot out and a Petit Moth appeared on the card (DEF: 200) before the water washed the small insect away.
"Attack her directly!"
The bird flapped its wings and a wave of ice shot out and struck her (Nancy LP: 5050 - 3050).
"Okay...then. I end my turn now."
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I play Tri-Wight!"
Suddenly, Petit Moth (ATK: 300), Happy Lover (ATK: 800) and Atlantean Pikeman appeared (ATK: 1,400).
"I now summon my Kozaky!"
As she sat the card down, the fiendish scientist appeared (ATK: 400).
"Next, I play One for One!"
As she discarded a Sonic Bird to the graveyard, a 2nd Dancing Elf appeared (ATK: 300).
Kelly smiled and replied, "I know whats next."
Christina nodded and replied, "Me too, girl."
"I know play my rarest spell card and its called The Law of Normal!"
Suddenly, the 5 monsters began to glow and their eyes began to glow and they fired them and both of his monsters were atomized.
"New we both discard our hands!"
They did so and she replied, "Attack the jerk directly!"
They alll went in and attacked him. Petit Moth rammed into his stomach, Pikeman stabbed him in the arm with its spear, Kozaky took a test tube out of his pocket and threw it him and it hit in the stomach and then Happy Lover struck him with its wings and then finally Dancing Elf jumped in and kicked the spy in the stomach as well (Kreiger LP: 4450 - 1250).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and replied, "I summon my Warrior of Atantis!"
As he sat the card down, the watery warrior appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"Attack her moth!"
He went in and gave a hard punch, blowing the tiny insect to pieces (Nancy LP: 3050 - 1450).
"Your turn now."
Nancy drew a card and replied, "I play Spellbook in the Pot!"
Both drew 3 cards and she replied, "I play Synthesis Spell!"
The ritual card appeared.
"For the offering, I offer my 4 monsters!"
As the 4 monsters flew into the spell card and it vanished, a fercious beast appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"Meet the mighty Lycanthorpe!"
Kelly smiled and replied, "Quite a good card for this deck!"
"Attack his Warrior of Atlantis!"
The beast-warrior swung its sharp claw and it struck slicing the sea warrior to pieces (Kreiger LP: 1250 - 650).
"Since my badboy did some damage, you take damage equal to all of my normal monsters in my graveyard times 200 and I have 14!"
Suddenly, the ritual monster let out a howl and Kreiger was knocked flat on his back, knocking him out cold (Kreiger LP: 650 - 0).
Carly then replied, "Great dueling, Nancy!"
