Chapter 29: Caring For Friends! Majestic Dragon!
The giant sign is burning purple against the Satellite landscape.
"What's wrong, Yusei? I'm going to keep attacking! Infernity Archfiend will attack Max Warrior..." Kiryu says. Suddenly, Infernity Archfiend's attack points drop to 800. "What? It has less attack points than Max Warrior?" Asks Kiryu.
"When Ghost Gardna is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, one of your monsters loses one thousand attack points until the End Phase!" Yusei says.
"I end my turn." Says Kiryu.
"My turn!" Yusei says. He draws. "I summon the Tuner Monster Junk Synchron!" Says Yusei.
Junk Synchron has 1300 attack points and is a Level 3 monster.
"Level Three Junk Synchron tunes Level Two Speed Warrior! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Junk Warrior!" Yusei says.
Junk Warrior has 2300 attack points and is a Level 5 monster.
"I flip over my trap card 'Synchro Striker Unit'. This card becomes an Equip Card, and the equipped monster gains one thousand attack points!" Says Yusei. 'Synchro Striker Unit' is a long, slim rectangular laser rifle wielded by Junk Warrior, raising it's attack points to 3300. "Battle! Max Warrior attacks Infernity Archfiend!" Yusei says.
"And it has an effect!" Says Kiryu.
"That's right. While it's attacking, it gains four hundred attack points!" Yusei says. Max Warrior's attack points rise to 2200. "Destroy it! Swift Rush!" Says Yusei.
"Don't underestimate my handless combo! I flip over my trap card! 'Infernity Force'! If you attack my Infernity monster when I have no cards in my hand, your attacking monster is destroyed!" Kiryu says.
"Huh!" Says Yusei.
"Then I can Special Summon one Level Four-or-below Infernity monster from my graveyard. I Special Summon Infernity Necromancer!" Kiryu says.
Infernity Necromancer has 2000 defense points and is a Level 3 monster. "Hahahahahahahahaha!"
"Junk Warrior attacks Hundred Eyes Dragon!" Says Yusei.
Junk Warrior attacks, and Hundred Eyes Dragon takes the hit right in the huge eye on its chest.
Kiryu ducks and flies out of the cloud of smoke and debris, with 3700 life points left.
On a wrecked highway nearby, watching the duel from a distance, stand Sakura, with Aurora and Grim standing at either side of her, Crow, Ushio, Usagi and both sets of twins. "Awesome! He finally defeated Hundred Eyes Dragon!" Ushio says. "Wait, that's what he wanted." Says Crow.
"Eheheheheheheheh. Due to Hundred Eyes Dragon's effect, when it's destroyed, I can select one card in my deck and add it to my hand." Kiryu says.
"He used Hundred Eyes Dragon in order to get that card." Yusei thinks to himself.
Kiryu looks over his shoulder at him, snickering.
Both of them know what that card is.
"I set two cards and end my turn! Due to 'Synchro Striker Unit's' effect, Junk Warrior loses eight hundred attack points during each of my End Phases." Says Yusei. Junk Warrior's attack points are back to 2500.
Kiryu cackles and flips the card in his hand, of course it's Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!
"It's an Earthbound Immortal." Yusei says. "But I must find a way to rescue Kiryu." Yusei thinks to himself.
He and Kiryu race onward, neck and neck.
The spectators watch, anxiously. "Yusei, it's the same as before. You're trying to rescue Kiryu." Crow thinks to himself.
"That's right. Kiryu, I'll save you from destruction!" Yusei thinks to himself.
Flashback. Wide-beam spotlights shine through the pouring rain as they light up one by one. The Security officer with the pointy mustache and his troops, seven with riot shields, at least two more beside with duel disks, three on D-Wheels, at least one car and two large tank-like machines with spotlights mounted on top, stand there in the rain, besieging the building.
Inside, one of the upper-story rooms. Kiryu's standing to the side of the window, out of sight.
Jack, Yusei and Crow are away from the windows, out of sight. The only furniture in their stronghold is a row of lockers, a green couch and a table. Jack, Yusei and Crow look at each other.
Kiryu leans against the window frame, looking contemptuously over his shoulder at the assembled forces and laughing. He hears a sound and looks back inside.
Jack, Yusei and Crow are removing their duel disks and placing them on the table.
"Hey! What's going on? Aren't you going to battle alongside me? This is our last duel!" Says Kiryu. "Wake up, Kiryu!" Jack says. "There's no way we can defeat Security!" Says Crow. "You guys…" Kiryu says. "Kiryu, we have to escape." Says Yusei. Kiryu almost laughs, still with that frenzied, manic look in his eyes. "I know you're not satisfied yet. By defeating Security, we'll truly conquer Satellite. Let's do it! Let's do our duel!" Kiryu says. "We don't see eye-to-eye anymore." Says Jack. "What?" Kiryu asks. He looks from Jack's face, to Yusei's and to Crow's, all of them are completely serious. "But we're still friends. We want to rescue you from Security. Kiryu!" Says Yusei.
Kiryu stumbles backward, distraught, confused, unable to accept this. "Why is this happening? Me and you are…" Kiryu says.
Something explodes, Security is firing something or other at the side of the building, and the room rocks.
"Security has started their attack!" Says Yusei.
Outside, the man with the mustache was done waiting. "Duel and capture them!"
The three D-Wheels were the first forward, zooming out into the night.
A pack of officers with duel disks ran up a fire escape.
While Team Satisfaction ran across the catwalk above.
They couldn't catch up to Team Satisfaction before they leapt the edge of the building.
"Against Security's overwhelming power, the only thing we could do was flee. But Kiryu…" Yusei thinks to himself, in voice-over.
Sometime later. Kiryu's running down an alleyway alone, then stops and looks up into the falling rain. "Even if we escape from Satellite, there's nowhere to go." Kiryu thinks to himself. He hears the noise of a D-Wheel engine and turns.
One of the Security officers on D-Wheels has caught up with him.
Kiryu turns to face him, looking crazy again. "So I'll keep fighting, even if I'm all alone! Duel! I draw! I summon Vorse Raider!" Kiryu says.
"You piece of Satellite garbage, I'll squash you! I summon Montage Dragon!"
Montage Dragon destroys Vorse Raider, and the officer rides straight at Kiryu, who has nowhere to run and knows it. The officer turns sideways, going into a skid. "Take this!"
Kiryu gasps, then notices something above him. When the officer hits the space he was standing in a moment ago, he can't react fast enough before he jumps up and grabs the end of a fire escape ladder above, jumps down and lands on the back of the D-Wheel. "What?" The officer takes off riding, trying to shake him off, Kiryu grabs him in a headlock.
Yusei appears at the other end of the alley, in time to see him and the officer zoom past, wrestling for control of the D-Wheel. "Kiryu, stop! Kiryu!" Says Yusei.
The D-Wheel crashes through a solid wall and goes flying through the air, both Kiryu and the officer are thrown off, yelling.
The D-Wheel hits the ground and spins a few times.
Kiryu and the officer have landed some distance away.
He pushes himself up on his hands, breathing heavily.
The officer lays on the ground, not moving, a puddle of blood already forming, as Kiryu advances on him. "We'll crush you. We'll crush Security and conquer Satellite!" Kiryu says.
He suddenly gets tackled aside before he can do anything to the officer. Kiryu, down on the ground, moves to push himself up to his hands and knees, and looks over at the person who stopped him from doing anything to the officer.
Sakura's the one who stopped him, she risked herself to save the officer. She has her cloak wrapped tightly around herself, her long, wavy, raven black, red gradated hair is still completely down, and she's favoring her left arm, that has quite a bit of blood smeared and running down her hand and arm.
Kiryu stands up and walks over to Sakura. "You don't learn, do you?! Why couldn't you just stay away?!" Asks Kiryu, furiously. He backhands Sakura, with a lot of force and anger behind it, sending her down to the ground. Kiryu stabs her in the torso, causing her to scream out, in pain. He then stands up, pulling the knife from Sakura's flesh, leaving a deep wound in the lower-right side of her torso, a few inches below her right breast.
Grim suddenly appears and lunges at Kiryu, knocking him down to the ground, with ease, his teeth bared and mere inches from his face, snarling at him. The knife went flying out of his hand when Grim pounced on him. Kiryu, with all the strength he has, grabs a hold of him and slams him down to the hard ground, making him let out a whimper, in pain.
He then gets up and sets his sights on Sakura.
She is down on the ground, barely moving or conscious.
Kiryu advances on Sakura. "Time-to finish..." Kiryu says.
"Stop it!" Says Yusei. He places himself over Sakura, in an attempt to keep Kiryu from doing anything else to her. He stops short of Yusei, who's hunched over her barely conscious and almost motionless body. "Get-out-of my way, Yusei! I'm going to-put-an-end to this meddling pest!" Kiryu says. "No, Kiryu! You've done enough! You went as far as to seriously hurt and rape my sister, and that's something I can't forgive you for!" Says Yusei. Kiryu steps back, in bewilderment. "She's-your-sister?!" Kiryu asks. "Yeah, she is. We're half-twins, actually." Says Yusei. Kiryu's getting that craziness back in his eyes. "It-doesn't-matter! She's gotten in my way more than once! Time-for-her-to-go-bye-bye!" Kiryu says. He advances on Yusei, who's shielding Sakura from him.
He then gets up and tackles Kiryu, and they're fighting and wrestling, rolling over and over through the soaking wet alleyway. Finally, Yusei pins him to the ground. "I don't care who you are! You're never going to do anything to my sister again, Kiryu!" Says Yusei. "Let go of me, Yusei! We have to crush Satellite!" Kiryu says. Yusei keeps pinning him down.
Jack and Crow run up behind them.
Sometime later. Security cars are searching the streets.
While Team Satisfaction is hiding in a building somewhere. Yusei's looking out the window, back to the wall beside it to stay out of sight.
"It's only a matter of time before they find us." Says Jack. At the back of the room, he and Crow are each gripping one of Kiryu's arms, restraining him. "And Sakura's not doing so well." Crow says.
Yusei looks into Kiryu's eyes, as the prisoner glares at him.
He looks almost sick or fevered, breathing heavily even though Yusei has long since caught his breath, there's little doubt that he would fight anything he could, including him, if Jack and Crow let him go.
He then walks over to Sakura, lying on something, but can't be made out. Grim's lying on the floor beside it, staying near her, with his head resting on his paws. Yusei kneels down next to Sakura, placing one of his hands on her head, gently. She flinches very slightly, but she has barely any strength to say much or move any part of her body. Sakura's getting worse and worse with each passing minute. "It's okay. It's just me." Says Yusei, soothingly.
Sakura's eyes open, glancing up at him, weakly. Yusei hesitates at first and then moves her cloak out of the way to check on the injuries that Kiryu gave her, avoiding to look at her still naked body. It isn't a pretty sight either.
It forces Jack and Crow to look away, instantly.
Sakura's left arm is completely blood soaked, from the open wound that's still bleeding badly. Yusei can see that Kiryu basically slashed her whole left arm open, for something she didn't even do. The open wound in Sakura's torso is deep and blood's still running down from it. Yusei then covers her back up again and places his forehead to hers, lightly. "I'm so sorry, sis." Yusei says. "This isn't your fault. Don't blame yourself, brother." Says Sakura, softly. Yusei touches her hand and gives it a slight squeeze. He seems to make a decision in that moment, he stands up and turns his back, his face hard.
Kiryu's right shoulder is bleeding, too, but Crow already checked on that injury, Sakura fought back and stabbed him straight through his shoulder.
"Take care of Kiryu for me. And please, watch over Sakura." Yusei says.
He soon walks out into the street, and three Security cars stop at the nearest intersection, appearing from all directions. It doesn't take long for Yusei to be surrounded with headlights, and more Security appearing from every direction. "I'm the leader of Team Satisfaction! I'm the one who attacked Security headquarters! The other three had nothing to do with it! Arrest me!" Says Yusei.
"Yusei..." Crow says.
Yusei looks.
An officer with a riot shield has Crow by the shoulder, and five more are clustered around him and Jack. One of the officers is cradling Sakura in his arms, knowing how serious her injuries are and the state her body is in. Another officer has Grim leashed and muzzled, he's restrained. They've already been apprehended.
The officer with the mustache walks over to Yusei. "Huh?!" Asks Yusei. "We only want the leader. The other three and the girl are free to go. But we have to confirm who's the leader!"
Yusei looks up, a pair of Security officers are leading Kiryu out. One has his arm with the stab wound through the shoulder pinned, the other's holding his head down.
"Kiryu! Wait, you're making a mistake!" Yusei says.
A couple of paramedics in masks are wheeling the officer, who crashed earlier, on a gurney.
"Look. Treason against Security is a crime in the first degree. Also, rape is a serious offense, even here in Satellite. You will never meet him again. Heheheheheheh." He pats Yusei on the shoulder, patronizingly.
As Kiryu's being hauled into the van, he looks back. "Huh?!" Asks Kiryu. He sees the officer with the mustache patting Yusei on the shoulder, sickeningly smug.
"Heheheheheh." He walks away.
Kiryu can't believe his eyes, can't bear to see what he's seeing. He loses it. "Uugh, uagh! Yusei!" Kiryu says.
"Huh?" Asks Yusei.
Kiryu lunges forward, and is dragged back by the two Security officers gripping his arms and towing him toward the van. "You betrayed me! You sold me out!" Kiryu says.
Yusei's surprised. "You're wrong, Kiryu!" Says Yusei, trying to explain the misunderstanding.
And the two Security officers throw Kiryu into the prison van. He scrambles to his hands and knees, fighting for all he's worth to get at Yusei. "Yusei!" Kiryu says, screaming himself hoarse. And the doors slam shut. And the van drives away, Kiryu screaming in the back. "Yusei!" Says Kiryu, screaming.
The Security cars are all driving away, leaving Yusei, Jack and Crow standing in the street. Jack now has Sakura cradled in his arms and Grim's standing next to him, the muzzle and leash have both been removed from him. "Kiryu!" Yusei says, shouting into the night, maybe, somehow, he hopes Kiryu can hear him. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "Jack, Crow and I really wanted to save you back then!" Says Yusei.
"You betrayed me! You sold me out!" Kiryu says.
Up on the highway. Sakura has somehow opened up a link between Kiryu's D-Wheel console and hers. "You're wrong! Yusei tried to surrender to Security in your place!" Says Sakura. "Why didn't they battle alongside me until the very end? They surrendered to Security! And then there's you, Sakura! The duelist who was once respected and feared as the Red-Eyed Raven of Satellite, is now just a shell of what she once was! You took Crow, Jack and Yusei from me, and in the end, I reduced you to a pile of ashes by taking away your virtue and the use of that arm of yours!" Kiryu says, via-screen. Sakura growls under her breath. She looks down at her left arm, the scar hidden by her coat sleeve and glove, and places a hand on it. "You let your own ego get the better of you! I didn't take anyone from you, Kyosuke. Your own actions and way of thinking were what drove them away from you. You came after me out of jealousy and spite!" Says Sakura. She pulls down the left side of her coat, making it go limp on that side, and slips her arm bracelet down and removes her glove, baring her left arm. Revealing the long, rigid scar down her left arm, as well as the several, rigid scars that run either horizontally or diagonally along the limb, and the additional markings that are etched along that arm. Sakura's eyeing at the long scar that she received at the hands of Kiryu, as she cradles her arm with the other hand, firmly yet gingerly. "You damaged all the nerves and tendons in my arm. So thanks to you, I can never feel or even so much as move my left arm anymore. And yet, when you and I are in close proximity to each other, my arm burns." Sakura says.
Kiryu, in response, pushes up his sleeve, revealing the deep, x-shaped scar that goes through his shoulder, holding at it, slightly. "I feel it, too. You and I are connected by these scars that we gave each other, they burn when the other is nearby due to being rivals!" Says Kiryu. He pulls the sleeve back over it, hiding it from view.
Sakura in turn slips her glove and arm bracelet back on, hiding the scars and additional markings from view once more, and readjusts her coat. "And by stealing my virtue, the end result was Subaru and Velvet being born. I didn't put you in that prison cell, Kyosuke. Neither did my brother, Jack or Crow. You brought that on yourself." Sakura says.
"You had me charged for rape and attempted murder! That means all four of you sold out Team Satisfaction!" Says Kiryu. He's getting personal.
"Kiryu…" Yusei says.
"Do you know what happens to people who attack Security, and have a rape and attempted murder charge against them?" Asks Kiryu.
Flashback. Kiryu's eyes go wide and his teeth are clenched, rasping in pain, as his yellow tracking dye, which is his Dark Signer dye in the present, is etched into his skin.
The scene changes to him being beaten and battered by prison guards. He's clothed in a tattered, water-stained battleship gray shirt, and ripped jeans. "At the prison, the guards targeted me. They were violent." Kiryu says, in voice-over. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "We visited many times. But we weren't allowed to see you." Says Crow. He looks away from Sakura's D-Wheel screen, pained. "Eventually, they told us that you died." Crow says.
"It's not that simple! I could've withstood their abuse forever. But they took away my deck, which I value more than my life!" Says Kiryu.
Flashback. Kiryu sits in his prison cell, huddled with his knees to his chest in a corner far from the barred window, the only light entering the room. He looks tired, bitter, miserable and far past the point of despair.
He hears a deep voice speak. "I'm a messenger from the afterlife. You must decide whether to end your own life. What regrets will you leave behind in this world? If you become a Dark Signer, I will make your dreams come true."
Kiryu speaks, barely moving his mouth. He seems to have been robbed of that vibrant, competitive spark, that shrieking rage, but as he speaks, he begins to tremble, looking as though he can't shout, but might cry. Kiryu's in so much pain, with no energy left to feel it. "I want to get revenge on someone. And have another writhing under me… spitting blood by my hand. And…" Kiryu says. He slumps over, dead. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "By becoming a Dark Signer, I vowed to get revenge on you, Yusei! With my Earthbound Immortal, I'll make you face the same fear that I faced! And after I'm done with you, I'll keep you around long enough to watch your precious sister writhe beneath me and spit out blood at my hand!" Says Kiryu. He turns to his D-Wheel screen. "You hear me, Sakura?! Once I'm done getting revenge on your brother, I'm coming for you to finish what I started! I'll be the one to personally bring you to Rudger! Then, I'll make you my personal slave and it'll be my job to constantly corrupt you, and that body of yours!" Kiryu says.
Sakura's listening through her D-Wheel console. "But before that, I'll give you and Yusei a chance at a proper goodbye. Before he's diminished to nothing and his soul is lost to the underworld, I'll have you at my feet, silenced by your own blood spewing from those lips of yours, leaving him with that final sight, knowing that he failed to protect his beloved half-twin! And if you think Jack and Crow can save you from me after he's gone, I'll kill them just to get to you! Oh, and don't worry, I'll show at least a little mercy to my kids by sparing them from seeing their dear mother choking to death on her own blood! Maybe, I'll even keep Jack around and have him watch as I take you over and over again!" Says Kiryu, via-screen. Subaru and Velvet cling to Sakura, crying into their mother's chest.
As Kiryu watches this display, there's almost a hint of remorse in his dark eyes, seeing his kids in tears at his words seems to be hitting him a bit.
Sakura just holds the young twins to her, soothingly. "You're nothing but a sick, delusional pervert and highly egotistical lunatic, Kyosuke." Sakura says.
Kiryu soon snaps out of it. "My turn!" Says Kiryu. He draws. "I release Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer!" Kiryu says.
The two monsters turn into orbs of light and fly upward, combining to form the clenched fist that summons an Earthbound Immortal.
"Descend, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!" Says Kiryu.
A beam of light soars from his upraised card to the fist in the sky, and it begins to pulse, gradually picking up pace. A fiery column of purple light shoots from ground to sky, sending energy rippling across the clouds. The ground rumbles, and the Giant appears, roaring its supremacy. Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu has 3000 attack points and is a Level 10 monster.
The Immortal can easily be seen from the highway. Luca cries out and clings onto Lua, while he's trying not to do the same. Even Crow, Ushio and Usagi look afraid. Sakura's fighting off the burning sensation in her left arm, while Subaru and Velvet continue to cling to her, terrified. "It's here." Ushio says. "Yusei…" Says Crow.
"Earthbound Immortal…" Yusei says.
Kiryu's holding at his shoulder, feeling the same burning sensation as Sakura. "You're facing Earthbound Immortal's terror once again! Ccapac Apu attacks you directly!" Says Kiryu.
The Giant leans over and reaches for Yusei, just like it did before. Ccapac Apu reaches for him and his D-Wheel, the ground erupts beneath the Giant's arm, blown apart by the sheer energy.
Flashback. The same exact scene plays, Ccapac Apu's massive black hand reaches for Yusei, casting a shadow over him and his D-Wheel. Then just as the hand crashes down where he would have been, he flies backward and hits the ground, thrown free of his D-Wheel, and bounces further, end over end. "Kiryu, if the fear I'm facing now is the same fear that you felt, then I won't run away!" Yusei thinks to himself, in voice-over. The flashback ends.
Back to the present. "I'll face your fear by defeating Earthbound Immortal!" Yusei thinks to himself. "I flip over my trap card 'Baton of the Hero'! I get to decide your monster's attack target this turn!" Yusei says.
"What?" Asks Kiryu.
"Earthbound Immortal's target is Junk Warrior!" Yusei says.
Junk Warrior flies up into the Giant's hand, and explodes, showering him with dust.
Yusei's life points fall to 2400.
"You used your monster as a shield to dodge the attack! But Ccapac Apu's effect activates! When it destroys your monster, you take damage equal to that monster's attack points!" Says Kiryu.
"This is bad! Junk Warrior has two thousand five hundred attack points. That's more than Yusei's life points!" Crow says. "Yusei!" Says Luca.
"I flip over my trap card 'Burst Synchro Summon'! Once this turn, damage from an effect becomes zero!" Yusei says. As the blast hits, a translucent shield, like a contact lens, appears over his head. "Next, I ignore the summoning conditions and Special Summon a Synchro Monster whose attack points are equal to the effect damage I negated!" Says Yusei.
"Which Synchro Monster has two thousand five hundred attack points?" Lua asks. "Stardust Dragon!" Says Luca. "Well done, Yusei! So that's why you destroyed Junk Warrior!" Crow says. Grim barks, as if in agreement.
"Soar, Stardust Dragon!" Says Yusei.
The contact lens becomes a huge, egg-shaped blast of light, twisting around at the top and lengthening into a cyclone. A blinding flash, and Stardust appears, roaring. Stardust Dragon has 2500 attack points and is a Level 8 monster.
"Yusei's ace monster has arrived! I set one card and end my turn!" Kiryu says. He places a face down.
"My turn!" Says Yusei. He draws.
"I flip over my trap card 'Brilliant Shrine Art'! When your monster attacks, Earthbound Immortal can take that attack instead!" Kiryu says.
"That means Stardust Dragon's attack will aim towards Earthbound Immortal. I activate Speed Spell 'Angel Baton'! I draw two cards, and then I send one card in my hand to my graveyard. The card I sent to the graveyard was Stardust Xiaolong! When Stardust Dragon is on the field, this monster resurrects from the graveyard!" Says Yusei.
Stardust Xiaolong has 100 attack points and is a Level 1 monster. It's a Chinese-style dragonet that looks kind of like Stardust Dragon. It's quite adorable.
"I set one card and end my turn." Yusei says.
"My turn!" Says Kiryu. He draws.
"I flip over my trap card 'Superior Protector'! I equip this card on Stardust Dragon! Now I only take battle damage when Stardust Dragon battles!" Yusei says.
"You stopped me from attacking you directly? I'll crush that piece of celestial garbage! Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu attacks Stardust Dragon!" Says Kiryu.
Ccapac Apu looks ready to grab the soaring Stardust right out of the sky.
"'Superior Protector's' effect activates! By sending this card to the graveyard, it can't be destroyed in battle!" Yusei says.
"But you still take battle damage. I flip over my trap card 'Wicked Trample'! When you take battle damage from a non-direct attack, the damage is doubled!" Says Kiryu.
"What?" Yusei asks.
"Ahahahahahahaha! Go! Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!" Says Kiryu.
Yusei buckles down and endures the blast, he drops a speed counter, leaving him with 4, and his life points are down to 1400.
The ground around the Giant's feet begins to cave and erode, the road cracks, and Kiryu's forced down into the side of the road that is sinking and smashing itself to pieces, forced to the edge of the purple fire. He cries out, in fear.
Yusei, on the edge of the fracturing sinkhole, veers down onto the broken track, closer to Kiryu. "Kiryu!" Yusei says.
"No way!" Says Kiryu.
"Kiryu!" Yusei says.
Kiryu looks up, he's actually offering him his hand, as though they were still friends. He looks up at Yusei, surprised and startled. "Yusei..." Says Kiryu.
"I was wrong. Back then, I thought I could save you by sacrificing myself. But I was wrong! I can save a friend by believing in our bond!" Yusei says.
"Yusei..." Says Crow. "Daddy..." Velvet says, sadly. "Yusei... Huh?" Asks Luca. Her sign has suddenly lit up. Luca looks over at Sakura, seeing that she's doing something, her sign is lit up, as well. "Sakura, what are you doing?" Luca asks. "Just lend me your Signer power, you shall be alright." Says Sakura, her voice is starting to turn menacing and echoic. Luca places her hand where her sign is glowing, lending her powers over to her. The additional markings along Sakura's arms and hands start glowing as soon as she touches her sign. "Now, to get the other Signers to do the same. Jack… Aki… Yusei… Please, lend me your powers, as well." Sakura thinks to herself, trying to contact them.
Jack's sign has lit, too. He looks at it, then off into the distance, probably toward the duel. "I hear you, Sakura." Jack thinks to himself. He closes his eyes and focuses on his Signer powers to lend to Sakura somehow. "Yusei! Kiryu!" Jack thinks to himself.
As soon as that happens, the symbolic designs etched into Sakura's upper back begin glowing.
So has Aki's Sign. Minako is momentarily distracted from driving, as she looks at it, then off into the distance toward the duel, following Kakyuu and Hotaru's gaze. "I can sense Yusei's feelings." Aki says. "Sakura, I hear you." Aki thinks to herself. She focuses on her sign, too, in order to lend her powers to Sakura, as well.
The additional markings burned along her legs and tops of her feet start flaring.
Yusei's sign is shining like a beacon, and shines even brighter, as he reaches it toward Kiryu. "Jack and Crow feel the same way as me. And our new friends also support us. Sakura never revealed to Security that you assaulted, raped and nearly killed her. Security saw the state she was in and put those charges on you themselves. And your kids, they don't want to see their dad die, they want you alive and in their lives. They need their dad, just as much as they need their mom. This battle isn't to defeat you. It's to save you, our friend, and a dad, from the Dark Signers!" Says Yusei.
Kiryu's sincerely stunned that he still calls him his friend. "Yusei..." Kiryu says. Then he starts resisting, convinced it isn't possible. "It's too late!" Says Kiryu. He slides down further, toward the fire. "Ah! Aaaagggh!"
"Daddy, no!" Velvet says, with tears shimmering down her cheeks. Subaru hugs her close, tears are stinging at the corners of his eyes, too. "Father..." Says Subaru.
"Kiryu!" Yusei says. His sign burns even brighter. "Sakura..." Yusei thinks to himself. He focuses on his sign, too.
The rest of the symbolic designs down Sakura's back begin glowing, as well.
Yusei's sign suddenly vanishes from his arm.
And Aki gasps, as the glowing sign suddenly vanishes from her arm, as well. "Ahh!" Says Aki.
And Jack's. "The mark!" Jack says.
And Luca's. "It vanished?" Asks Luca.
And fades from the mysterious arm in a tank.
The bird-shaped symbol etched along Sakura's forehead starts glowing. The Seal of the Dragon, that she had etched into her abdomen since birth, is all lit up, as well. The red gradated half of her hair flares in bright fiery red. Luca doesn't exactly know what's going on, but all their powers and signs all gather to one person, the heart and soul of the Crimson Dragon, Sakura. She's struggling to keep all the power together. "Sakura? No don't, it's too dangerous and too much for you to handle on your own." Luca says. Sakura opens her eyes, her irises are flaring in bright red, while her scleras have faded to black, with glowing red veins across her eyes. "It is alright, why have the Crimson Dragon within me if I can't use it." Says Sakura, her voice now menacing and echoic. She then glances over her shoulder at Luca. "Don't worry, Luca. Everything is going to be alright." Sakura says. She places her hands on her chest, right over her heart. The Seal of the Crimson Dragon on Sakura's abdomen is starting to go dim. She then moves her hands off of her chest and as she does, a crimson red ball of power appears out of her chest and it's floating in her hands, it hurts her, causing her to nearly cry out, in pain. "What is that red power ball?" Asks Lua. "Yeah, and what are you going to do with it?" Crow asks. "It is the heart of the Crimson Dragon… and… I'm giving it up to Yusei… so he can win this… the right way..." Says Sakura, pained. "No, Sakura don't. If you do, you'll die and I can't let that happen." Luca says. "Crimson Dragon… Go forth and help Yusei!" Says Sakura. She lifts the Crimson Dragon's heart of power into the air and it shoots high up into the sky. The Seal of the Crimson Dragon suddenly disappears from Sakura's abdomen.
The Seal of the Crimson Dragon then reappears glowing red through the back of Yusei's jacket.
"What's that?" Crow asks. "Our marks have gathered on Yusei. Sakura's given them up to help him." Says Luca. "What?" Crow asks. The additional markings and symbolic designs on Sakura's body have all gone dim. Her pupils soon fade, leaving her eyes blank. Sakura then collapses backwards, only Crow's able to catch her in time. "Sakura!" Says both Crow and Luca.
Grim suddenly collapses to the ground, due to the link he shares with his mistress. "Grim!" Luca says. She runs over to Grim and kneels down next to him, stroking his head, petting him.
Aurora soon follows suit and collapses to the ground, due to her connection to her mistress. "Aurora!" Says Usagi. She goes over to Aurora and kneels down, picks up her head and lies it in her lap, petting her, gently.
"Our feelings unite and become one." Yusei says. Suddenly, the top card of his deck starts glowing a bright golden color. "Huh? What's this?" Asks Yusei. He goes to draw it, hesitates, then defiantly draws it. "My turn!" Yusei says. His speed counter rises to 5. Yusei looks at the card, still shining gold. "I see! This card holds our feelings so that we can create a miracle! I'll save Kiryu with this card! I summon the Tuner Monster Majestic Dragon!" Says Yusei.
Majestic Dragon is small, pink and cute, tadpole-shaped, with spoke-style wings that lack sails that would actually support flight. Majestic Dragon has 0 attack points and is a Level 1 monster. "Majestic Dragon tunes Stardust Dragon and Stardust Xiaolong!" Yusei says.
Stardust and Xiaolong soar high, one beneath the other, and Majestic Dragon rolls over midair and spreads its spoked wings wide, growing bigger, beginning to shine pink, until Stardust and Xiaolong are surrounded with pink light. Stardust and Xiaolong appear mostly transparent with glowing gold outlines, stars shining brightly within the outlines, thin green rings circling around them.
"The shining stars come together to illuminate a new miracle! Become the path that lights the way!" Says Yusei.
The myriad stars zoom into place and align with Majestic Dragon's single star, creating a wash of light.
"Synchro Summon! Arrive, Majestic Star Dragon!" Yusei says.
His new dragon is the next level beyond Stardust. Its design is futuristic, with spoked wings, like Majestic Dragon's, built perhaps for space but not for flying through the sky. Its very presence causes the air to shimmer with iridescent light, and it's absolutely beautiful. Majestic Star Dragon has 3800 attack points and is a Level 10 monster.
"Majestic Star Dragon negates one of your monsters' effects and gains them until the End Phase! I gain Earthbound Immortal's effects! Sublimation Drain!" Says Yusei.
The air around the Giant begins to sparkle with little blue lights. The monster reels, as if confused or weakened.
Majestic Star Dragon absorbs the lights, looking right at the huge Immortal as though staring into its heart.
"Majestic Star Dragon attacks Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu!" Yusei says.
Majestic Star, now shining with blue light, folds back its wings and bullets toward Ccapac Apu, and indeed appears to be a shooting star.
"Shooting Blaster Sonic!" Says Yusei.
Majestic Star blasts right through the Immortal's chest and flies out the other side, not even scratched, soaring away into the sky as the Immortal collapses behind it, bleeding electric blue sparks. A huge wave of darkness explodes from its back, threatening to engulf the Dragon, but Majestic Star easily outruns it.
Yusei and his D-Wheel are still sitting in a prismatic cloud of light from Majestic Star Dragon. He gasps, as the darkness from the Giant's fall enshrouds Kiryu and he groans and shields himself, trying to fight it. "Kiryu!" Yusei says.
Majestic Star Dragon swoops down into the flames and back up into the sky, shedding the purple fire in another beautiful light show.
Down on the ground, bathed in iridescent, shimmery light. Yusei's D-Wheel is stopped, Kiryu's lying across his lap, his head resting on the right-side arm bar, and he's in bad shape. "Pull yourself together, Kiryu! I won't forsake my friend! I'll save you this time!" Says Yusei.
Kiryu opens his eyes and looks up at him, his eyes have turned normal again. "Yusei, Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu's effect deals damage equal to the destroyed monster's attack points. In other words, I take a total of three thousand eight hundred points in damage." Kiryu says, hoarsely and weakly. Yusei gasps. "When I became a Dark Signer, I made one more wish. I wanted Team Satisfaction to have one last duel that we couldn't have back then." Says Kiryu, hoarsely and weakly. "Kiryu..." Yusei says.
Majestic Star Dragon soars high above a landscape painted with the mark of the giant. The mark fades, and the sky turns gray again. Majestic Star remains, cruising high above them.
"I couldn't hate you enough. And I regret what I've done to Sakura. Deep down, I knew what I was doing to her was wrong but, I was so blinded by my own ego to stop myself." Says Kiryu, hoarsely and weakly. Yusei shakes his head. Kiryu's smiling, peaceful and benign. "How embarrassing. I don't feel satisfied. And my kids… I wish I could've spent more time with them. Just let them know… that their dad's sorry. Ggh!" Kiryu says, hoarsely and weakly. With a small gasp of pain, he turns to black dust, evaporating in Yusei's arms.
He stares at them, even knowing this would happen couldn't soften the pain. "Kiryu..." Says Yusei.
The spectators watch Majestic Star sail serenely through the sky. Crow and Luca watch over Sakura, still motionless in the former's arms, and Grim and Aurora are lying on the ground, barely moving. "Sakura, come on. You have to wake up." Luca says. "You can get through this, I know you can. You've been through worse than this." Says Crow. His eyes start shedding tears, he can't bear the thought of losing his best friend. Luca's eyes are tearing, too, she hugs Lua for comfort. "If the Crimson Dragon doesn't return to her soon, she'll be gone. And so will Grim and Aurora." Luca says. Subaru's hugging Velvet close, as they're both in tears. "Mommy… Please wake up." Says Velvet. "We've already lost father. We can't lose you too, Mother." Subaru says.
His D-Wheel parked some distance away, Yusei stands alone, staring out at the desolate Satellite landscape, his shoulders shaking, his face can't be seen. "Kiryu, you're my friend. For you and the rest of my friends, and my family, I promise to defeat the Dark Signers!" Says Yusei. He clenches his fist, and a single tear falls and breaks on it. Several more fly from Yusei's cheeks, as he raises his head. "Kiryu!" Yusei says, shouting to the sky. Full of resolve, he stands strong, watching Majestic Star Dragon glide away into the distance, trailing brilliant blue and white sparkles in its wake, and disappears into the clouds.
