3. Morgana
After breakfast finished we walked into the throne room which was already occupied by some of the governing body of the kingdom and waited patiently as Gwen and Arthur took their seats on the throne. It was amazing how the atmosphere immediately shifts as soon as Arthur and Gwen took their places on the throne.
"We are all gathered here today to discuss some key changes that need to be taken for the protection of our Kingdom" Arthur began "as most of you are aware, it is true that Morgause has survived the attack and I am not going to take any chances with both Morgana and Morgause, we will be increasing the guards and I want patrols which would be led by my knights of the round table" he nodded towards us
"I would also like to increase the security at the gates of Camelot, I want anyone acting suspicious to be brought into questioning and be careful of the people you let into in and Isabella I want you and Gwaine to take up on training some of the younger men in our Kingdom" I nodded in acknowledgment and so the meeting continued with all the details being ironed out and what was needed to be done.
As the meeting came to a close Arthur dismissed everyone but told the boys and me to stay behind, I looked over at everyone and for the most part everyone looked utterly confused except for Gaius who had a cheeky grin on his face….well this should be interesting.
Arthur stood up and cleared his throat as we all looked at him in amusement, the poor thing looked like he was going to burst in excitement at the same time puke up the breakfast he had literally inhaled; he cleared his throat again and stood there looking down at Gwen with a shit eating grin spreading on his face while holding Gwen's hand.
"Me and Guinevere have something important to share with you" he announced
No shit Sherlock, "hurry up already Arthur, we got things to do…a life to continue" Percival hollered causing all of us to chuckle and Arthur to shoot a withering glare at poor Percival before he turned to face me and he then looked over at Elyan.
"So, Bells and Elyan what do you think about finally becoming an Aunt and Uncle?" he asked and it took me a while to actually understand what he said and I couldn't stop the utter joy that bloomed through me
"OHMYGOD" I screamed like a fucking teenager and I felt like an idiot because I may be in a 17 year olds body but in reality I'm over thousand years old and it sucks but hey, I don't care. I ran over to them and squeezed the living daylights out of Gwen and Arthur. Everyone except Merlin, Gwaine and Elyan looked excited and they all congratulated and hugged the happy couple and it makes sense why Gaius was grinning.
"Ummm, could you bring us into the loop?" Merlin asked and Arthur rolled his eyes
"Merlin you Dip shit, Guinevere and me are going to have a baby" Arthur replied and Merlin looked shocked, Elyan and Gwaine had a huge grin on their faces now.
"Wait, how could you have a baby?" Merlin asked confused. Sometimes I seriously consider killing him myself, honestly the idiot has his own kid and he's asking that question
"Merlin you peanut brain, Gwen is pregnant" I spoke very slowly
"Ohhh, wait oh shit" Merlin muttered finally understanding and pretty much everyone was laughing their butts off and I could almost hear Merlin smacking himself mentally.
Gaius was laughing quietly at us, what can I say, sometimes we are some serious lunatics but that's what family are for, we always joke around and tease each other but we would always protect each other in our time of need and looking at my family I was able to push the pain that was ever present to the back of my mind; this was where I belonged and no matter what I can't think about the past.
"Alright then I'm going to gather some boys and start the training today" I called out and that sobered up everyone and eventually we all went our own way to do what they had to.
After training was over I walked into my chambers and I grabbed a dress before I walked into the bathroom for a much needed shower to wash away the sweat and dirt. After I finished I walked to the dining room and I took my place next to Arthur and I watched as everyone settled in and tucked in to eat dinner. After our dinner was served there was light chatter among us all.
"Hey Bella" Merlin called quietly since he was next to me
"Yeah?" I asked
"Could you put Angel to bed for me after we've eaten?" he asked
"Sure…" I dragged it out
Merlin noticed my confused look,
"I'll explain later but meet me in the stables around midnight" he replied quietly
"Okay" I replied very confused at his odd behaviour, maybe something is wrong with him, maybe he got drunk; probably not. He's not the drinking type. Whatever it was we better not get in trouble.
I noticed Angel yawning and I chuckled, the little thing had grown from the last time I saw her; she was just a little baby but now she's grown not much but still.
"You tired my little Princess?" I asked her softly while stroking her cheek with a finger
"Hmmm, sweepy" she grumbled and trust me Angel could get very pissy when she's tired and she is only one years old, Merlin is going to have his hands full when she's grown up.
"Come on" I got up and picked up Angel into my arms and she cuddled into my arms and buried her tiny head into my neck
"Do you wanna give everyone a good night kiss?" I asked sweetly and I got grunt in reply from her and I chuckled
I leant down to Merlin's level and he pecked her forehead and my cheek and I leaned over and kissed everyone's cheek and they returned it and pecked Angel and finally I walked over to Gwen
"Congrats and I would love to help you out with the baby stuff just so you know" I whispered into her ear and I knew I'm going to regret the helping out part but hell, it's my brother and sister-in-law's first child so I'm just going to have to cope with it
"And Arthur, I didn't know you had it in you" I teased and waggled my eyebrows at him and he glared at me but I just gave a cheesy grin in return
"Night everyone" I called
"Night Bells, night Angel" they called back
I walked over to Angel's chamber and laid her into her crib and tucked her in
"Goodnight, my little princess" I whispered and kissed her forehead
I blew out the candles and I quietly walked out of the room and closed her door gently. I walked into my chambers and closed the door behind me, I grabbed my cloak and my sword before I walked out into the stables; as soon as I could see the stable I saw Merlin standing there with Thunder and his horse Logan; no wonder he wanted me to take Angel to bed instead.
"Hey" I whispered as I got closer to him
"Hey" he whispered back
"So, what exactly are we doing?" I asked
"I'll explain on our way, so let's get a move on" he muttered
"Okay…" I trailed off as I jumped onto Thunder and we both trotted off into the forest
"So, you gonna explain now?" I asked in confusion and for fucks sake you can't blame me for being grumpy, I'm exhausted and I want my bed; not riding in the fucking forest thank you very much
Merlin chuckled at me, fucker
"Well, you know how Gwaine mentioned that Morgana might have other magical creature on her side?" he asked
"When did he mention this?" I asked completely bewildered
"Bella were you paying any attention during dinner" he asked with a raised eyebrow
"yeeaahhh" I drawled out and he shook his head
"Arthur suspects that Morgana is building another army however this time with magical creatures"
"You mean the dead?" I asked back, remembering the last battle we had and the ever present pain that came with that memory
"No because we have the cup of life but maybe something else" he replied
"Wonderful" I muttered sarcastically
He gave me a mischievous grin in reply and I don't think I'm going to like this one bit
"Well, we're going to do a bit of spy work" he answered to my first question with a huge grin and I raised my eyebrow at him in question; it's been a long time since I did something like this
"Okay, one you're crazy, two we could get killed and three we're gonna get killed!" I stated with a huff
"Jeez thanks" he replied sarcastically "be a bit optimistic would you" he grumbled and I couldn't stop the laughter
"Screw you" I chirped and I got a glare in return and soon we both settled into a peaceful silence as we made our way towards Morgana's cottage
As we rode through the dark forest the only light was from the moon and stars, it's a beautiful night today and I remembered the times were me and Arthur would sit out and talk. I remembered the first time I sat there and Arthur came over and sat with me
(Memory)
"Can I join you?" Arthur asked me, I was lying on my back watching the stars and the moon I looked over at him and normally Arthur never asks for anything, he just does whatever he wants to. Brat.
"What's wrong Arthur?" I asked
"Does there have to be something wrong to come and join my sister?" he asked back and I gave the look that said 'I don't believe that shit'
"Bella, have you ever fallen in love and you know you can't do anything because of our positions in the social world?" I felt like laughing at him because I could assure you I've never fallen in love and I don't trust any men to give my heart to because in this world many people want to marry the royalties and they would do just about anything as well and anyways I had better things to do with my life.
"No Arthur, I sure as hell haven't fallen in love which you know and even if I did, why would anything such as the social hierarchy stop me from loving someone?" I asked
"Maybe because you're going to rule the world one day and your father excepts things from you" and that's when it clicked into place
"Arthur, who stole your arrogant cocky heart?" I teased
"Bella, I'm serious" he grumbled
"And I'm serious, you won't ask me this if you hadn't fallen in love and to be honest Arthur, you've changed" I spoke up "wait a sec, is it Merlin?" I teased
"What do you mean I changed?" and a few second later "What do you mean it's MERLIN?" he whisper cried which earned a snicker from me
"Arthur I know you better than anyone else and I know you're a good man and you're definitely not the cocky and arrogant guy that the world sees but Arthur that mask of yours is slowly falling. The real you is starting to appear more and more, you respect people even the commoners, you're not as arrogant or a brat like you were before and I also know that some of the changes in you are because of Merlin but also of someone else" I concluded with a grin
Arthur looked shocked "huh" he muttered
"And what about you Isabella, when are you going to drop your mask of ignorance to everything and bitterness towards father?" Arthur asked in retaliation
I smiled at him "the ignorance is the easy way to hide the pain you're going through and the bitterness stops the longing and hope" I replied simply and Arthur dropped the topic
"so, who's the girl, and before you say no one; well I would find out eventually so you might as well tell me now" I stated and Arthur let out a huge sigh.
"Guinevere" he replied and I nearly choked on my saliva
I looked at him to see if he was serious and his face was hard but I could see the determination but also the love and longing hidden behind his pain
"Shit Arthur" I muttered
"I know and I don't know what to do" he muttered
"well you could always just go to her and be the perfect gentleman that I know is there somewhere and admit your undying love and anyways who cares what your father says" Merlin's voice drifted over to us and trust me I started laughing my ass off as soon as I saw Arthurs face, he looked like he wanted to die on the spot. Merlin came over and laid down on the other side of me
"That's the King you're talking about" Arthur grumbled
"Merlin's right Arthur" I spoke up before Arthur decides to bolt
"You're joking right?" he asked me incredulous
"Uhh no, who cares what father thinks, you love her so go woo her already" I told him
"It won't even last a month" he muttered back
"Arthur one day you're going to be the king that is unlike anything Albion has ever seen and when that day comes you can marry her and no one can stop you but till then well it could be a secret between us" Merlin stated back
"He's right, this secret would be with us three" I told him
"Actually that would be four of us" Elizabeth's voice drifted towards us
Arthur looked like he wanted to kill us all now
"Seriously is everyone listening into my conversations" he growled
"Well no, it's just us" Elizabeth stated with a giggle
"But they're right Arthur, Gwen is the perfect girl for you" she told him and had a knowing smile on her face, Elizabeth laid down next to Arthur
"What are you hiding?" I asked
"Nothing" she replied innocently
I felt a smile forming on my face at that memory even though it was bittersweet and it turned out the Gwen liked Arthur as well and Elizabeth found out but she promised Gwen she would keep it a secret, we only found out through Gwen when they finally decide to give the forbidden love a try and we all vowed to bring them together despite Uther.
As we drove closer, I could make a faint outline of Morgana's cottage. We jumped of our horses quietly and we tied them to the tree. We quietly sneaked over to her cottage and bent down so we could see into her cottage through the window.
Morgana's cottage was small but it looked like it had been abandoned by its previous owner from the crumbling mud and it's in the middle of no-where but we found it with a finding spell: gotta love having magic. When we looked inside we saw Morgana in her black dress and her black hair was pulled into a messy bun and her eyes were closed and she was sitting in a chair behind her was a man who had black wavy hair and grey eyes and he was massaging Morgana's shoulders but somehow that little act looked too intimate and I shot a questioning look at Merlin and he looked just as confused. What the fuck has happened while I was in forks?
"Mmmm, that feels nice" Morgana moaned and I seriously felt like vomiting; oh god even though I hated her with all of my being that woman is my half-sister and the person I grew up with
"Anything for my dear highness" he replied
"Do you know how many of them agreed to help us in the battle?" she asked the weird guy.
Damn we're lucky today
"Yes your highness, the Sidhes and Pixies agreed to help and that's about it the rest of the magical creatures are too scared of something but they refused to tell us of what, however I got a name" he murmured. Looks like Morgana trained her man very well. Ewwww.
"Name?"
"Emrys my highness" he murmured and you could see the instant Morgana's face changed, calm gone and in its place pure rage.
She flew out of her chair and started pacing and all of a sudden the chair flew into the far wall with a crash and broke into pieces and leaving a crack in the already crumbling wall.
We both stood up too quickly not wanting to risk staying any longer and since the world was out to ruin us, Merlin banged his head onto the roof.
"Shit" he hissed and both our eyes went wide. Shit, we are dead meat.
"Get them" Morgana screamed when she saw us through the window, well that's all we needed to snap us from shock and we ran for our horses.
If we get out of this alive I'm going to kill Merlin very slowly.
AN/ Alright, I know it has been a very long time and i'm trying my best to write as much as I can but I swear I haven't abandoned this story.
