Hey everyone, happy Friday and time for the new update, but sadly to say that this is the second to last chapter. But everyone story has to come to end, but I love it when stories come to an end, even the stories before the final chapter. But I have a soundtrack to come with this moment for Jay in the end. So the link is watch?v=9gmAjEwwPiE, and when you see the mark, *, enjoy. I'm an author who enjoys reading with soundtrack music, so enjoy then. :)
Chapter 31: Forgiven
He done it. He had saved Ninjago City from two notorious villains taking over for their own control. Except that they each had different goals. One wanted control for power for something that was his and the other just wanted to kill him for making him into a villain out of jealousy. Even when it looked like himself in both ways. Appearance and powers. More like two doppelgangers instead of one to fight alone; crazed with power they had. They even took it out of their own greed and pride. But what would that make him out of it all? Jay, Ninja of Lightning and the Amazing Spiderman. A superhero in one way, a murderer in the other to what he had to do to succeed. He felt stuck in a web of shadows, entangled in the tough threads the more he imagined it.
A sigh escaped from the auburn haired teen as he stared at the wreck, carnage of the once stood android of Oscorp to hang his head and looked at his hands. Ever since he obtained these spider abilities, it brought him both pride and pain to the lightning ninja the more he had used them. It gave him powers far greater than he could imagine than his elemental powers, but it brought the pain of his uncle's death to his heart. It's how he became Spiderman in the first place after he supposedly killed the man he accused of killing his uncle, but when in general it was Electro. His powers were now a big responsibility he had to fulfill to prove that he can be there for people so they wouldn't endure the fate his uncle had. But it lead to chaos for villains to cling onto as he grew more to his ideas of protection. Being Spiderman was difficult in many ways if his family and friends were in the way to be harmed.
The back of the blue ninja's head hummed in a soft alert that someone was behind him to turn softly to gasp on who it was. It was Electro, but only it wasn't like the man he thought he had killed back at the grid. His once translucent blue skin was back to his original dark skin tone with his dark brown eyes, but he was still bald after however his transformation made him lose all of the hair he had. But it stunned him to see he was still alive after he had used his electrical powers against him and made him...normal and human. This had to be a dream or mirage, but Jay saw it was the truth. It even puzzled him that the man known as Electro wasn't attacking him or killing him, El-Maxwell Dillions too looked surprised. "I...would never expect it to be you." he said, voice normal and not reverberating. "When that other one called Venom said you were the same as him, I'd never expect it, the lightning ninja to be Spiderman." He paused to look at Jay's puzzled eyes. "But for the truth, this was something I actually didn't wanted to do. I felt corrupted ever since our first fight in Ninjago Square. All of my built up anger was released and I became the threat to Ninjago now. But it's gone and I feel cleansed, but now mistaken."
The mask of puzzlement clung to Jay's face as he stared at the once man who had the ability to control electricity to see he had turned a new leaf. Like he said, all of his anger was released to become Electro. It made him wonder if that was how Garmadon became Lord Garmadon when he wanted the Golden Weapons. What if Lloyd and Laurie's father could be mistaken too? "We all make mistakes and can't forgive ourselves." he said while not holding a grudge much on him. "Just like when you killed my uncle."
The man's face turned solemn as he gazed at the hurt eyes of the auburn teen to look away and sighed. The night of the event haunted him and wished he can take it back. It was his fault that Doctor Walker was gone. His fault he harmed the Walker family. His fault on being Electro against the deceased scientist's nephew. "I was scared when everything to me after I became new." he sighed to lift his head and watched Jay's harden gaze loosen. "It was an accident and I never meant to kill your uncle. He was doing the best he could to stop our bickering; mine and that robber of that." Jay's ears now perked as he wanted to hear more.
"On the night before he passed away," Maxwell continued, feeling his mind slipping away to the memories of the thundering night. "I was walking down incognito to be hidden from those that could see me as a freak. I saw the guy running away from the store after he shoved you away and I chased after him and confronted him. I wanted to prove myself I can help with my new form but we fought over the gun and we heard your uncle shouting at us. That's when it happened..." Bang! The ringing of the gun still remained in his head to turn stiff for a bit. "Some of my powers discharged as it frightened me to think I was shot, but I didn't realize I struck your uncle in the chest.
"No..." the blue skinned man cried as the robber ran and he gently helped him lie down in the streets. "Doctor Walker, I'm sorry! I'll get you help!"
"But I was scared as I thought the gunfire would attract attention and accused me of murder." He continued to feel tears forming in his eyes. Jay too felt tears forming in his hazel eyes. "Before you came, he told me to tell you something if I ever found you."
"Maxwell," the elder wheezed while trying to breathe. "It's...good to see you again. I always wanted to tell you that your work was always a success. But if you...find my nephew, tell him I'm sorry..."
The tears that were forming in the blue ninja's hazel eyes grew and cascaded down his face to realize it now. Oh how can he be so stupid. "After that," the man's voice made him perk on more details. "You cried for him and I fled. The next thing I know is that I took after the man who caused it in hopes I can redeem myself for what I did, but I found him dead. And there was you from where he fell. I found out though that he wasn't dead but with a faint pulse and I...actually revived him like a defibrillator. The man forgave me and the next I knew he left to turn himself in, I'm sure a near death experience change his ways. But when I saw I can do the same for your uncle, it was too late and I left. It's my fault that he's gone and I know you'll never forgive me, but I had to tell you the truth. I'm sorry for the pain I caused."
The tears continued to fall from his eyes to the truth from the man of his uncle's death to give him a watery smile. He had been blinded to think he was the enemy when Skales told him what he had saw, but it was his mistake to make him the enemy. The man was trying to help his uncle after he struck him with a rogue bolt, but couldn't if the blue ninja intervened. Skales had told him a false truth of the event and it made him dark to try and kill him for revenge. Oh how dumb can he be for revenge and be filled with regret. "I-I forgive you." Jay said, voice quivering as his throat bobbed with his tears.
The man lifted his head to the apology to feel surprised to hear it from the lightning ninja. All the pain he caused to him, their fights, and even murder, he still apologizes to him. He stuttered at first to reply, but instead gave him a small smile. "Thank you." Maxwell smiled and turned away to watch the morning dawn light lifting the golden sun to the city skyline. But his gaze drifted downward to see police cars filling the grid to sigh.
"What will happen now?" Jay wondered. "What's going to become of you since you're good and not Electro. Surely there's something in Ninjago for you still."
A sigh escaped from the man as he had to agree with him. What will he do now if he was considered dead from Oscorp? He was a ghost now to Ninjago. "I don't know. I'm considered both dead as Maxwell and Electro." he sighed, but an idea suddenly lit up. "Although...I could start a new life get a job over at that new company called Borg Industries. Even Cyrus Borg had offered me a job there. I've always heard they could use bright ideas and also search for ways to switch to alternative energy. I think my ideas could be of use to the world after all. But I won't use the Electro Cobrai again. Lesson learned." and winked at the lightning ninja.
A small smile played on the blue ninja's face to laugh a little. He had to agree with that and both knew they don't want to repeat their experiences together again. "Sounds like a plan then, Ele-Maxwell." he said quietly as the tears from his cry still choked his words. The man smiled at Jay to turn away and walk down a flight of stairs to leave the station. Jay was now alone.
*The lightning ninja gazed around the empty floor to ponder on what he should do now, but felt his legs guide him over to his mask to pick it up to stare at the white eyes and looked over it to sigh. Below him down of what may be an elevator shaft or not huddled his friends who he calls his second family with an injured Nya in the center. His heart tugged in pain as he has caused this to everyone to sigh. Will they accept him for who he was after all for being Spiderman? Or will they ridicule him for being Spiderman? It wasn't his fault to be Spiderman in the beginning, it was an accident when the spider bit him. And he was their brother, a ninja on the team, they have to, right? Sighing, he couldn't hold it longer to fire a thread to the ceiling and jumped down to land softly next to his team.
The Ninja and Gwen Stacey lifted their heads to stare at Jay with wide eyes of awe to who he was. The Ninja of Lightning knew this would happen and felt like leaving. But instead he stayed and gave them a small smile. "Hey guys," he said. "Well...what do you think?"
Baffled, that's all the teens could endure as they gazed at the blue ninja. Sensei Wu, however, gave his student a quizzical look at first and then gave him a small smile. He had always figured something was up with his student. Like with Nya's disappearances on the Destiny's Bounty as the mysterious Samurai X. But now him as the web swinging Spiderman his other students despised, not realizing it was their brother. "Jay," Zane's voice breaking the awkward silence, stunned a little. "This entire time, it has been you?"
Jay gazed deeply into his friend's eyes and even Kai's apologetically as Nya's head rested on his knees to look away and nodded. His back felt stiff as nerves were gnawing him as he kept getting the wide eyes of his teammates to sigh. His secret had to come out now. "Yeah...I'm Spiderman." he sighed and looked at Nya's pale form to feel relieved that her breaths were shallow and cleared. Even her puncture wounds were gone underneath her armor, Lucas must've healed her before she bled out. He was glad she was going to live. "I'm the one you've been against the entire time."
"How did this happen then and what was that all about with two Jays?" Laurie asked.
Another sigh escaped from the auburn haired teen to look at his feet. This felt hard and painful to his heart to admit everything, but he had to come out with it. If his look alike exposed himself as Venom, he had to do the same as Spiderman so he wasn't the bad guy. Every superhero in comics he read and seen in movies is bound to the task to reveal their secrets to friends and family, he has to do the same. "It all started when my uncle died." he sighed. "After our trip at Oscorp, I was bitten by one of those super spiders and it gave me these powers. So that's why I've been acting weird a lot." He drew in a deep breath. "After the funeral, I realized that I had a responsibility to use my powers as my uncle has told me since I was eight. I became Spiderman. And the other Jay, well was an android to take my place while I was gone and I must've done something to make him realize who he was and came from. Sorry though for stealing him, Gwen, but I needed him too." He received a forgetful nod from the snow white girl to smile a bit, but his smile didn't last for long.
He sighed yet again to feel his voice quivering with fresh tears forming in his hazel eyes. "I'm sorry for the trouble I brought to everyone and even you, Nya." he cried for a bit to the resting girl. "I never wanted anyone to get hurt while I was Spiderman after my uncle died and I broke that promise." He took a minute to collect himself. "I'm sure by now you'll never accept me for who I am and want me off the team. Especially you, Kai. I'll just go." and turned to start leaving the group alone.
But before he could get any farther after turning, he felt a soft, but strong hand grip his arm to stop him in his tracks. The blue ninja had to turn slowly to see who it was and saw it being Kai who stopped him while sitting on the floor still. He gazed deeply into his chocolate eyes to see the solemn look in his eyes. "Jay, don't." he said. "I would never, ever want you off the team. You're my best friend and I'll accept you for who you are. Spiderman or not."
Jay was stunned to give him a surprised gaze. Was he being serious? Was he really accepting him as Spiderman after the trouble he caused. Stealing their thunder and getting Nya hurt? It couldn't be. But the small smile from the fire ninja and his friends said otherwise. "Nothing will change our ways about you, Jay." said Zane.
"You're our brother, Jay." Cole added in. "We'll never kick you out and we love you in our family."
"We fight together and live together as one." Laurie stated. "You're still our jokester in the family. Even as Spiderman."
"And you're cool no matter what if you have spider powers or not." Lloyd finished.
Fresh tears poured from the lightning ninja's eyes in pure joy with a watery smile. He was wrong after all. His second family really loved him and accepted him as the web swinging superhero. Even after everything he caused to happen to them, even to Nya. He couldn't have felt more proud and relaxed to feel the crushing weight of anxiety off his chest to their soft smiles. "Thanks guys..." he spoke softly while choking on his tears. "That means a lot."
"I knew it." a soft, quiet voice spoke. "I always knew."
Jay quickly turned his attention to Nya as she was the one who spoke to quickly kneel to her side. He smiled a bit to her tired eyes prying softly with a small smile tugging on her pale face. "You knew?" he inquired. How could she know he was Spiderman then before all of this. "How?" He felt a soft hand brushing his cheek to lean his face closer to her's and soon felt warm lips of the samurai connect with his to close his eyes.
A warm wave of heat rushed through his body of the girl kissing him on the lips. A kiss from the girl his heart finally found over another girl felt exhilarating to him and wished to not pull away. But the kiss lasted for over a minute and looked deeply into her chocolate eyes as she pulled away to give him a wider grin. He even felt his cheeks burning up a little. "I can always tell the difference between you and a robot." the samurai replied softly.
A huge smile now grew on the auburn haired teen's face to remember now where he had kissed her before. In the alley after the stopping the Serpentine Gang from hurting her. And before, she always had kissed the android. Now there's the difference. Jay kept his smile plastered to his face and gently grabbed her hand to hold his other hand over it with a warm smile comforting her. "Well she's all patched up and ready to move around." Lucas' voice spoke up to have the blue ninja lift his gaze at him. "However, I think she'll need to see a doctor incase there's some internal damage. Think you can give her a lift, Spidey." and winked at Jay with a smile.
The smile was still plastered on his face to eagerly nod. "Sure thing." he said and slipped his mask over his face to receive large grins from his friends. Once it draped past his neck, he carefully lifted Nya into his arms in a bridal style way and gave Lloyd a quick glance. "You do make a great Spiderman too, Lloyd." he smiled to the boy and watched him smile back as he slipped his mask over his face to laugh with him a little. The lightning ninja turned to the morning sun rising in the horizon in a warm glow to shift Nya in his arms for a better hold on her before swinging. And once he felt her arms wrapped around his neck, he smiled to her as she smiled back and soon was off.
The air gently brushed across her neck as the blue ninja she loves swung them away into Ninjago City. Peace flooded her mind to be rejoiced with love from after their separation of an android taking his place. She couldn't be more proud to be in the auburn teen's taut arms again. This could feel like a story book, but in reality to her, it was real to her. The samurai had to wonder if he thought the same. And as the two swung deeper into the city, Nya's smile grew wide to feel comfortable to his familiar body soap scent and snuggled her head closer to his neck and closed her eyes to the bliss ride. This was a great Halloween night with Ninja of Lightning, or better yet.
The Amazing SpiderJay.
Please, if those that used a computer and listened to this while reading, I hope you enjoyed that moment with Jay and his family. I just fell in love with the music of it and had to use it so badly. It had fitted so perfectly well into it and, to be honest, I nearly cried with it. I just loved it. Also, if you're confused of Electro being alive, I couldn't do it to such an innocent man, even when he's misguided. Otherwise, he wouldn't have told Jay what really happened before he became Spiderman. But next week is the final chapter and I thank you for staying with me through this story. But thanks for reading the update, leave a review on what you thought of it, have a great weekend and I'll see you all for the final update. :D
