Summary – When Morgan has a secret admirer, Greg gets jealous. Who is the mystery man?

The Secret Admirer

Greg and Morgan had just returned from their crime scene and had headed to the locker room to freshen up. Morgan was laughing at something Greg had said and it made the male CSI's heart flutter; the laugh had such a melodic rhythm, that Greg would happily listen to it all day. Plus, the fact Morgan found him funny was also a bonus.

Greg sat on the bench to tie his shoelace, and Morgan opened her locker. "Oh!" she exclaimed in surprise.

"What's up?" Greg asked curiously.

Morgan pulled out a red Rose and a piece of card. "From your secret admirer" she read aloud with a little smile "And there's a kiss at the end" she looked at Greg with a lopsided smile "Some kind of prank, Sanders?" she asked.

"Nothing to do with me" Greg shrugged. I wish it was though he thought sadly. It seemed now he wasn't the only one fighting for Morgan's affection.

"I bet it's just Hodges messing around" Morgan said dismissively as she sniffed the Rose.

"Why? I think you could easily have a secret admirer" Greg said. His tone was a mix between nonchalant and irritation at the thought of someone taking Morgan away from him.

Morgan gave him a soft smile. "Well, I'm going to inquire with Hodges and Henry about this anyway, catch you later!" she said with a slight wave and left Greg looking sadly at the floor.

"Hey man!" Nick entered the locker room moments later, but paused at his younger friend's glum expression "What's the matter?" he asked.

"Oh, it's nothing" Greg said flippantly, but Nick could tell he was lying "Did you know Morgan has a secret admirer?"

"Really?" Nick said raising his eyebrow in surprise "And…it's not you?"

"No" Greg said a little sadly. "She thinks it's just Hodges or Henry messing around with her"

"Well, she might be right" Nick said rummaging in his locker. "But what If she's not? What if there really is a mystery man?"

"Then…I guess I've got a bit of a fight on my hands" Greg said.

He didn't mind saying this kind of thing to Nick about his feelings for Morgan; he'd told the older man how he felt a while ago. However, he felt he couldn't tell Morgan because he feared her rejection, and the thought of losing the beautiful blond woman was unbearable.

"Not with fists I hope" Nick teased. "Everything will work out okay man, you'll see" he said giving Greg a pat on the back. The younger man went to ask what he meant by that, but Nick had already left the room.

Later on in the night, and Greg and Morgan were at the light table going over their crime scene photos. Morgan had said Henry and Hodges swore it was neither of them who'd put the Rose in her locker, and she believed them. And ever since then, she'd had a small smile on her face at the thought of having a real admirer. It annoyed Greg a little, the thought of another man capturing her heart.

They were suddenly interrupted from their work when the receptionist, Judy, entered the room. "A letter just came for you, Miss Brody" she said with a smile, handing the envelope over to Morgan.

"Thank you, Judy" Morgan said with a smile, although she seemed a little confused, she hardly ever got mail at work. Greg watched her curiously as she ripped it open. Morgan began to read it aloud: "If you said you were cold. I would wrap my arms around you. If you said you were thirsty I would give you the ocean blue. I would give you anything the moon, the stars, the sunset too. This heart in my hands I hold out to you."

"Something else from your admirer, I take it" Greg said with a roll of his eyes.

"Yeah, looks like it" Morgan said with a small smile "I wish I knew who it was. They're being so sweet" she said holding the paper to her chest. She was like a love struck school girl at the thought of this mystery man, and Greg wasn't sure he could take it anymore.

"I'll be right back" he mumbled before leaving the room. Damn you….whoever you are! Greg thought as he trudged down the hall. He was so lost in thought he quite literally bumped into Finn.

"Hey, what's with the face like thunder?" she asked with a slight laugh.

"Morgan and her stupid boyfriend" Greg said in a childish sulk as he folded his arms.

"Morgan has a boyfriend?" Finn asked inquisitively.

"Well…not really. She has this secret admirer who keeps sending her these romantic things!" Greg said with a pout.

"Why is that a bad thing?" Finn replied.

"Because I like her!" Greg exclaimed, before looking horrified and clapping his hands over his mouth.

Finn laughed "Then tell her that!"

"I can't. I'm afraid she'll turn me down, or laugh at me" Greg said sulkily. "Besides, she seems pretty smitten with this mystery guy" he added a little bitterly.

"Well, you better get in there first" Finn said with a wink as she gave his shoulder a slight nudge before continuing down the hall.

Greg looked after her for a while before letting out a sigh. Maybe Finn was right, maybe it was time to stop this nonsense and tell Morgan how he really felt.

Russell may have been the supervisor, but that didn't mean he wasn't in touch with the lab gossip. News had been flying around all night- via the lab rats- that Morgan had a secret admirer, and there was some pretty ridiculous assumptions as to who it might be. Russell himself had heard it off Mandy, and he couldn't help but smile and roll his eyes at the fact. Kids.

The supervisor was walking past the locker room when he spotted Nick, and decided to check in with him to see how the case was going. He entered to find the younger CSI opening Morgan's locker and placing a box of chocolates inside.

"Nick!" DB exclaimed in surprise and the Texan nearly jumped out of his skin. "You're Morgan's secret admirer!?"

Nick hastily shut the door and stood with his hands behind his back before looking nervously at his boss. "Yes…I mean no…" he stuttered. "It's not what it looks like; it was all Finn's idea!"

"Why does that not surprise me?" Russell deadpanned as he raised his eyebrow.

"Somebody say my name?" Finn asked as she popped up in the locker room too.

"I got caught red-handed" Nick said sheepishly "Apparently being a CSI doesn't mean I know how to get away with stuff easily"

"Care to explain?" Russell asked as he folded his arms and looked at Finn.

"Okay look, it's obvious to everyone who sees them that Morgan and Greg love each other and that they are perfect together" Finn stated. DB couldn't argue with her so far "But they've been tiptoeing around the matter and…well Nick and I just wanted to give them a push in the right direction"

"So we decided to come up with this whole secret admirer thing in the hope of making Greg jealous" Nick continued "Then maybe he'd confess to Morgan how he felt"

Russell sighed "You guys shouldn't be manipulating their feelings like this"

"We're not!" Finn retorted "Like I said, we're just giving Greg a slight nudge"

"Yeah, I mean I wasn't sure it would work. Greg's not the jealous type, you know?" Nick said. "I've never seen him get angry or violent with anyone…unless it's to do with upsetting Morgan"

"Or in this case, taking her away from him" Finn stated.

"Well, you, I'm not surprised at" DB said looking at Finn, and the female CSI rolled her eyes in exasperation. "You on the other hand" he said turning to Nick "I didn't know you could be so devious"

"I'm doing it for Greg" Nick said truthfully "He's like a kid brother to me…and he's not exactly been having any luck with the ladies recently. That was until I saw the look in his eyes when he met Morgan and…I just want him to be happy, he deserves it"

Russell seemed to soften a little at this "you know you don't exactly come across as the romantic type" he said with a crooked smile "I mean, with the poem and everything…"

"Are you kidding? I got that off the internet" Nick explained basically.

"Well…I think you should tell Greg and Morgan what you've been up to" Russell said, turning quite stern again.

"We will…once they're safe and married" Finn said with an innocent smile and DB rolled his eyes.

"Go…now!" the supervisor said pointing out the door, and Finn and Nick skulked out like two naughty school children.

DB sighed and shook his head to himself. What a night!

Go in there and do it! Greg thought as he walked briskly towards the break room where Morgan was sat eating lunch. You're cool, you're calm, you're confident. Greg chanted in his head. "You can do this" he said taking a deep breath. He got there and suddenly froze.

Morgan looked at him with a smile "Hey Greg" she said casually.

"Oh, h-hey Morgan" Greg stuttered now. You cannot do this. Back out, now! Run!

"Have I got something in my teeth?" Morgan jested as Greg just appeared to be staring at her.

"No, you have lovely teeth" Greg replied nervously. Morgan smiled at him, showing them off. "Okay, Morgan…look…" Greg said as he walked up and down the room, swinging his arms a little "I have to tell you something…and it's not easy for me…"

"Greg…"

"There are certain things that I have been…I think that you and I…"

"Greg…"

"I mean whoever this guy is who is supposedly in love with you. I am so much more…"

"Greg I like you too"

"For a long time I have…" Greg froze "Wait, what?"

"I like you too, Greg" Morgan said with a soft smile.

"Really?" Greg asked, she was kidding right?

"Yeah, I was kind of hoping this 'secret admirer' would turn out to be you" Morgan explained "I've liked you in this way ever since I laid eyes on you, Greg. I just couldn't be sure until now if you felt the same"

Greg smiled "Morgan, you have no idea how happy that makes me" he said going over and hugging the female CSI tight. "So, will you go on a date with me?" Greg asked when they pulled apart.

"Yes, Greg" Morgan said with a small smile "I will go on a date with you" and with that, she pushed her soft lips against Greg's.

Finn and Nick were heading towards the break room, when Finn suddenly stuck her arm out in front of the Texan. Nick walked into it with huff of pain.

"Hey! What was that for?" he asked sulkily as he rubbed his stomach.

"You see that?" Finn said with a grin, indicating to inside the room where Greg and Morgan were kissing "We did that!"

"Yeah, we're regular cupids" Nick joked.

"Hey you two" Finn said with a raised eyebrow as Morgan and Greg came out of the room together "You got something to tell us?"

"Morgan and I are going on a date" Greg said happily. "Sorry secret admirer but Morgan is now off limits! And if he wants a fight about it, then so be it" Greg said feeling confident and smug all of a sudden. Morgan rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile.

"So, do tell, what are you planning?" Finn asked dragging Greg away leaving Nick and Morgan alone.

"Thanks for that, Nick" Morgan said.

"Huh? For what?" Nick said in confusion.

"For giving us a slight push. You think I don't recognise your handwriting" Morgan said with a wink before walking away, leaving Nick dumbfounded.

Hehe, I hope this was a bit of fun for you. I wanted to do more stories with Finn in and… yeah I hope you liked her interactions with the others. Another random idea with me XD

I wish to know you're ideas, no matter how wacky!
