A/N: Hey guys, I'm loving all the feedback on the stories, thank you so much! This story comes from two prompts. Mywarisalreadywon asked for a holiday themed story, and Quentasia asked for some Morganders which included Mistletoe and Nick, and so another totally random story was born ;) Wrong time of year, but who cares, I hope you still enjoy!
Summary – Greg and Morgan invent a Christmas version of Truth or Dare, and poor Nick ends up being in the firing line. (Fluff and Morganders)
Under the Mistletoe
It was Christmas Eve, and Greg and Morgan were supposed to be going on a date, excited about spending their first Christmas together as a couple. But, unfortunately they had been called into work, and hadn't even seen much of each other all night since Greg was on a case with Sara, and Morgan with Finn.
So, once they had returned from the crime scene for their dinner break, Morgan was sat in the break room gloomy stirring the coffee in her cup, wishing she could be with Greg right now on the special night they had planned. A smile broke across her face however, when said boyfriend entered the room with a grocery bag in his arms and a broad grin on his face.
"Hey, babe!" Greg said brightly as he closed the door, and walked over to snatch a kiss from his girlfriend's soft lips. "What's the matter?" he asked with a sad frown, not liking seeing her upset.
"I just can't believe we had to come in tonight" Morgan said with a pout "This is our first Christmas together and I wanted it to be special"
"It is special, babe" Greg reassured her "Because I'm with you and that's all that matters"
Morgan smiled up at him, believing that she truly had the most perfect boyfriend "I love you" she said with a genuine smile of content.
"I love you too" Greg said with a similar smile and they shared another kiss "Anyway…I have a surprise for you" he said excitedly as he but the grocery bag on the table "I know it's not the special night we planned, but I think we have enough time in-between waiting for our evidence to be processed to pull it off"
"Ooh, Okay!" Morgan said clapping hands excitedly as Greg laughed.
"Okay so first, it's not exactly done with all the trimmings, but I got us some turkey and stuffing sandwiches" Greg said taking them out the bag and Morgan lipped her lips hungrily, they looked good. "Some chocolate log for desert…" Greg took it out the bag "Candle… a couple of bottles of beers… a Poinsettia" he said with a smile, handing over the red Christmas flower to Morgan, she closed her eyes and sniffed it. "A strand of tinsel…" he said, playfully wrapping it around Morgan's neck "And of course…" Greg pulled out the familiar looking shrub and held it up between his thumb and forefinger "Mistletoe"
Morgan stood up to kiss him, quite passionately, and pulled away wrapping her arms around her boyfriend's waist "This is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me at Christmas…in fact, ever"
"I'm glad you like it" Greg said wrapping his arms around Morgan's waist too and swaying them a little "I would do anything just to see that smile on your face"
Morgan gave him a viewing of said smile "I can't believe you went to all this effort for me. I don't care that we're not sat in some posh restaurant right now, I love this, and it's homely and down to earth" she said sincerely. "Great, now your present is going to be really crap compared to this!"
Greg laughed "You are my greatest gift" he said genuinely.
"Damn it Greg, stop saying romantic things!" Morgan teased, giving his arm a playful slap "You're going to make me cry!"
"Alright, alright I'm sorry" Greg said "Shall we eat?" he asked lighting the candle, and Morgan opened the beers.
The pair sat in silence for a while, just enjoying being in each other's company.
"So, this is really the most romantic Christmas dinner you've ever had?" Greg asked eventually.
Morgan nodded "Hey! We could make a game out this, Christmas truth or dare" she said with a smirk.
"Okay, sounds fun" Greg agreed with a smile.
"You first, truth or dare?" Morgan asked.
Greg thought about this for the moment "Truth"
"Alright… What is the weirdest thing you've ever done to make someone hook up with you at Christmas?" Morgan giggled at the shocked look on Greg's face.
"Morgan, you're my girlfriend, are you sure you want to know about my past affairs?" he asked seriously.
"Totally, I don't mind, I love a good story" Morgan said taking another bite of her sandwich.
"Well…okay" Greg said and took a moment to think "Alright, I was eighteen and I was staying at my parents' house in California for the holidays. They'd invited their snobbish friends over for dinner a couple of days before Christmas, and the couple brought their daughter along. She was the same age as me, a right stuck up little brat, but c'mon, she was hot"
Morgan just smirked "Boys"
Greg raised an eyebrow at her "Anyway…I asked if she wanted to ditch our parents and go to a club. She said no, she didn't hang out with 'people like me' he said, mocking her posh voice and Morgan laughed. "So, I told her I was the Prince of Norway"
Morgan nearly spit out the mouthful of beer she had as she tried not the laugh "Seriously!?" she asked with a grin and Greg nodded "and she believed you?"
"Yes! I spoke a little Norwegian to her, and told her that I had to keep a low profile, because my Grandfather, the King of Norway, had rivals around the area that if they found out I was here would kidnap me and string me up by my ankles. She totally bought it. For the rest of the night she called me your royal highness and we made out in the back of my dad's car."
Morgan laughed "Smooth, Greg. I deem your story worthy; you may now ask me a question"
"Okay… "Greg thought for a moment "What has been your most embarrassing Christmas moment?"
"Oh, that's easy" Morgan said sitting forward in her seat "I had this boyfriend about six years ago, Scott, we'd been going out for about a year and a half and we were really close. It came to our second Christmas together and we were exchanging gifts. I opened my box from Scott and it was a ring."
"He proposed to you!?" Greg asked incredulously, not knowing Morgan had been engaged before.
"Well, that's what I thought…" Morgan said biting her lip "I said yes before he could even say anything…took the poor guy another 3 days to muster up the courage to tell me he didn't actually propose, he was just giving me a ring"
Greg couldn't help but be a little relieved by this explanation "Oh, I'm sorry honey" he said anyway, trying to hold back a laugh "But don't worry, I'm sure that's not the last ring you'll get" he said with a small smile as he leant across the table and took Morgan's hand.
Morgan smiled back at him, instantly feeling less embarrassed "Okay, your turn again!" she said.
"Hmm….give me a dare" Greg requested. "I am a master at dares"
Just then, the couple were interrupted as Nick came into the room, looking for his next dose of coffee. "Oh, sorry you guys" he said smiling at the younger couple "Am I interrupting?"
"Not really, we're just doing a Christmas edition of truth or dare, wanna play?" Greg asked.
Nick scoffed "C'mon, G. Truth or dare? Since when did you two turn into eight year old girls at a slumber party" he smirked before taking his coffee and leaving the room.
Morgan raised an eyebrow "Well, how rude"
"Just forget it, he's just jealous he's old and boring now" Greg deadpanned. "Anyway, I still wanna play, what's my dare?"
Morgan thought for a moment, and then spotted the piece of mistletoe lying on the table. She picked it up with a smirk and started twisting it around in her fingers "Okay, I got one for you…."
Nick was walking past Russell's office when he was pulled to the side, letting out a yelp as he was caught by surprised.
"Morgan!" he breathed with wide eyes as the blond smiled at him "What the hell!?"
"I'm sorry Nick, I didn't mean to scare you" she said with a giggle.
Nick huffed and looked around to see if anyone had seen "You didn't" he said indifferently.
Morgan lent back around the doorframe in a promiscuous way "Are you not going to kiss me then?" she asked.
"Huh?" Nick replied, feeling awfully confused. Morgan just smiled and pointed up to the top of the doorframe, where she had stuck the mistletoe "Oh…" Nick said, feeling awkward "I don't know Morgan, you're my best friend's girlfriend…"
"Oh, c'mon" Morgan said with a dismissive wave "It's tradition! I saw Greg giving Sara a little kiss earlier and I didn't mind, it's just a little holiday fun between friends"
"Oh, well then okay sure" Nick said, leaning in to give Morgan a quick peck on the lips, but the blond stopped him.
"You have to close your eyes!" Morgan told him "That's the traditional way"
"Okay, never heard that before" Nick said, but shrugged it off and closed his eyes anyway.
The next thing he knew, Morgan was pushing her lips against his, a little more harder than he'd thought. Nick tried to pull away, but Morgan just put her hands on the back of his head and forced his closer, the Texan just scrunched up his eyes in confusion. What was Greg going to think!? And he had no idea Morgan was so strong…
Eventually, Nick managed to squirm his way free and opened his eyes "Morgan what the…" but it wasn't Morgan who was stood in front of him. It was Greg.
"God Nick, you're one sloppy kisser" the younger man said teasingly as he wiped his mouth. Morgan was stood behind him, laughing so hard it made her insides hurt.
Nick stood in shock, his eyes wide, and mouth moving with no words coming out. "No, no, no, no, no, no" he repeated frantically. "No! There is no way in hell we just…" Morgan showed him a picture she'd taken on her phone. It did indeed appear that he and Greg were kissing.
"Well, I didn't think you'd do it" Morgan said to Greg after she'd controlled her laughter.
"In all honestly, it wasn't my first bi-curious experience" Greg said causally as he folded his arms. "There's been a lot of unresolved sexual tension between us for years…Nick knows it" he whispered to Morgan and she started laughing again.
Nick, had finally come back to his senses "Greg!" he yelled "I'm going to kill you!"
"Ssh" Greg said placing a finger to his lips "We're in a crime lab, Nick, you can't say stuff like that around here"
Nick just gave him an incredulous look "I can't…what even…"
"It was good wasn't it" Greg said with a smug nod "Come on, you know it was"
Nick just blushed, before hurrying off down the hall not knowing what else to say.
"And we're clear that doesn't count as me cheating on you?" Greg asked his girlfriend who was laughing again.
"Definitely not, totally worth it" Morgan said, giving him a high five.
"I love being evil with you" Greg said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around Morgan's waist.
"Me too" Morgan said, smiling up at him "Don't worry, Nick will forgive us eventually, we just have to get him a really awesome Christmas present"
Greg laughed "Yeah… say, you ever kissed a girl before?" he asked curiously. Morgan just gave a smug smile and tapped the side of her nose "Ha! I love you, you little Minx"
"I love you too" Morgan said.
Greg smiled "You know…maybe you'll be getting that ring sooner than you think"
Did I just write my first official piece of slash? That's for you to decide ;)
